1Pharmacognostic studies of insect gall of Quercus infectoria Olivier(Fagaceae)显示文摘Objective:To study the detailed pharmacognostic profile of galls of Quercus infectoria Olivier(Q.infectoria olivier)(Fagaceae),an important medicinal plant used in the Indian system of medicine.Methods:Samples of galls of Q.infectoria were studied by macroscopical,microscopical,physiochemical,phytochemical.fluorescence analysis and othjer methods for standardization as recommended by WHO.Results:Macroscopically,the crude drug is globose with horny appearances on external surface(1.4-2.3 cm in length and 1-1.5 cm in diameter),with greyish-brown to brownish-black in colour externally and dark brown buff colored.Surface is smooth with numerous horny protuberances giving rough touch,and witfi unpleasant odour.Microscopically,a wide zone of radially elongated parenchyma cells between upper and lower epidermis were found.The vascular strands were present at all places and radially elongated sclerides touched the lower epidermis.In physico-chemical studies,the moisture,total ash,acid insoluble ash,alcohol soluble,water soluble,petroleum ether,chloroform extractive value and tannin content were found to be 2.790,5.020,0.110,38.780,41.210,0.402,1.590 and 49.200 percentage respectively.Prcliminary phytochemical screening showed the presence of phenols,flavonoids,steroids,triterpenes,tannins,saponins and alkaloids.Cooclusions:The results of the present study serve as a valuable source of information and provide suitable standards for identification of this medicinally important plant drug material for future investigations and applications.Savitri Shrestha Vasuki Srinivas Kaushik Ravi Shankara Birur Eshwarappa Sundara Rajan Subaramaihha Latha Muuaiah Ramanna Dhananjaya Bhadrapura Lakkappa 2014Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2014,4,1:4

6Work function tuned, surface Cs intercalated BiVO_(4) for enhanced photoelectrochemical water splitting reactions显示文摘Monoclinic BiVO_(4) is a widely researched semiconductor in solar water splitting owing to its suitable characteristics. However, BiVO_(4) faces limitations, such as the inefficient separation and transportation of photogenerated charges in the bulk and poor catalytic water oxidation reactions at the surface that affect the water-splitting efficiency. In this work, the Cs intercalation strategy at the surface of BiVO_(4) is proposed for the enhanced water splitting to H_(2) and O_(2) productions via the effective separation and transportation photogenerated charges and improved surface catalytic water oxidation reactions. The Cs ions are found to intercalate at the surface of BiVO_(4) and regulate the oxygen vacancies to provide active O_(2) production sites and stability. The surface intercalation of Cs boosts the photocurrent to 1.89 mA cm^(-2)at 1.23 V vs.reference hydrogen electrode(RHE). A stoichiometric evolution of H_(2) and O_(2) is recorded with a faradaic efficiency of 92%. The open-circuit voltage measurements confirmed the increase in the carrier lifetime with the work function tuning upon Cs intercalation. The proposed Cs intercalation strategy suggests an effective route to suppress the charge recombination with an increase in carrier lifetime and charge separation in BiVO_(4) for the enhanced PEC application.Shankara S.Kalanur Hyungtak Seo 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,5:1
