2A new discrete Fourier transform randomness test显示文摘The randomness of random number generators(RNGs) is important for the reliability of cryptographic systems since the outputs of RNGs are usually utilized to construct cryptographic parameters.Statistical tests are employed to evaluate the randomness of the RNG outputs. The discrete Fourier transform(DFT) test is an important test item of the most popular statistical test suite NIST SP800-22. In the standard NIST DFT test and related improved studies, there exist accuracy and efficiency issues. First, the bit sequences generated by known good RNGs have a high probability to be rejected when the sequences are long or the sequence number is large, due to the deviation between the actual distribution of the test statistic values and the assumed normal distribution. Second, the long test time and high memory consumptions of the complex DFT test algorithm also affect its practicability. To solve these problems, we propose a new DFT test method for long sequences(106 or more bits). Different from the previous DFT test methods focusing on making the distribution of the test statistic values closer to the normal distribution, we reconstruct the statistic to follow the chi-square distribution. Our experiment result shows that our method has higher reliability in the two-level test, and could effectively reduce the test time and the memory consumptions.When applying our method on randomness test, the test efficiency has been increased to about 4 times for 106-bit sequences and 7 times for 107-bit sequences. 3Fault Analysis on a New Block Cipher DBlock with at Most Two Fault Injections显示文摘DBlock is a new family of block ciphers proposed by Wu et al. in Science China in 2015, which consists of three variants specified as DBlock-128/192/256.DBlock-n employs a 20-round Feistel-type structure with n-bit block size and n-bit key size. We propose the first fault analysis on DBlock and show that no more than 2 pairs of correct/faulty ciphertexts are needed to retrieve the master key. In the attack, a byte-oriented fault is injected in round 16, and three properties including differential distribution of the Sbox, bijection nature of the linear function and Feistel-type key scheduling are fully utilized to distinguish between the correct and wrong keys. A fault position guessing strategy based on known intermediates is adopted, which efficiently makes the known-fault attack apply to the random fault model. The experimental results show that, with a pair of ciphertexts, 11.820-bit exhaustive search is needed to derive the whole 128-bit key on average. 4Dynamic response of ultralight all-metallic sandwich panel with 3D tube cellular core to shallow-buried explosives显示文摘The underbody of a vehicle system, either military or civil, is typically made of a relatively thin metallic plate, thus vulnerable to mine blast attacks. To improve the blast resistance, a multitude of protective structures have been proposed as attachments to the thin plate. In the present study, a novel ultralight all-metallic sandwich panel with three-dimensional(3D) tube cellular cores mounted to the vehicle underbody was envisioned as such a protective system. A metallic substrate(mimicking vehicle bottom)was placed above the proposed sandwich panel to construct a sandwich-substrate combinative structure. A series of sandwich panels having 3D tube cellular cores were fabricated via argon protected welding and laser welding. Mechanical responses of the combinative structure subjected to the denotation of 6 kg TNT explosives shallow-buried in dry sand were experimentally measured. Full numerical simulations with the method of finite elements(FE) were subsequently carried out to explore the physical mechanisms underlying the observed dynamic performance and quantify the effects of key geometrical parameters and connection conditions of the protective system. The performance of the proposed sandwich panel under shallow-buried explosives was also compared with competing sandwich constructions having equal mass. 6Sequence-Oriented Stochastic Model of RO-TRNGs for Entropy Evaluation显示文摘Ring oscillator-based true random number generators(RO-TRNGs) are widely used to generate unpredictable random numbers for cryptographic systems.Entropy is usually adopted to quantitatively measure the unpredictability of a TRNG. There have been several stochastic models such as the time-oriented and phaseoriented ones built to evaluate the entropy of ElementaryRO-TRNGs with single oscillator. However, these models are not suitable for the TRNGs composed of multiple oscillators(Multiple-RO-TRNGs), which can obtain more randomness and higher throughput. Considering this,we propose a sequence-oriented stochastic model for the entropy evaluation of RO-TRNGs, named the first-order stationary Markov source model. This model is extensible for the Multiple-RO-TRNGs. Based on that, we present a detailed method to determine the entropy of Multiple-ROTRNGs. 9Ultrasound delivery of Chinese rhubarb promotes early recovery of gastrointestinal function after gastrectomy:a prospective randomized controlled study显示文摘Objective: Chinese rhubarb is a promising Chinese medicine for the promotion of gastrointestinal function. This study was conducted to investigate the safety and efficacy of Chinese rhubarb administered via ultrasound delivery in promoting the early recovery of gastrointestinal function after gastrectomy.Methods: In this prospective randomized controlled study, 100 patients who were scheduled to undergo total or subtotal gastrectomy in Changzhi People’s Hospital or Subei People’s Hospital from August 2017 to January 2018 were recruited. These patients were randomly assigned into two equal groups before surgery: 50 in the experimental (Chinese rhubarb) group, and 50 in the control (routine nursing) group. After surgery, time to flatus, bowel movement, clear liquid diet, and removal of nasogastric tube were recorded and analyzed. In addition, postoperative pain, postoperative bowel movement-related complications, and postoperative hospital stay duration were also recorded and analyzed. The study was approved by The protocol was approved by the Institutional Review Board of Changzhi People’s Hospital and Subei People’s Hospital on July 1, 2017 and registered with the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry on December 17, 2018 (registration number: ChiCTR1800020143).Results: Time to flatus (control group 85.68±22.00 hours vs experimental group 73.06±23.42 hours;P=0.007), bowel movement (5.52±1.56 vs 4.40±1.21 days;P<0.001), clear liquid diet (6.72±1.16 vs 6.22±1.28 days;P=0.044), and removal of nasogastric tube (6.30±1.52 vs 5.65±1.58 days;P=0.044) were significantly shorter in the experimental group compared with the control group, as was the postoperative hospital stay duration (14.30±3.46 vs 12.86±1.36 days;P=0.006). 11Patterns and Cellular Mechanisms of Arm Regeneration in Adult Starfish Asterias rollestoni Bell显示文摘To understand the mechanisms of starfish regeneration, the arms of adult starfish Asterias rollestoni Bell were amputated and their regeneration patterns and cellular mechanisms were studied.It was found that cells in the outer epidermis and inner parietal peritoneum near the end of the stump began to dedifferentiate 4 d after amputation. The dedifferentiated cells in the outer epidermis proliferated,migrated to the wound site and formed a thickened pre-epidermis which would then re-differentiate gradually into ma-ture epidermis.The new parietal peritoneum formed on the coelomic side of wound might be from the curvely elongated parietal peritoneum, resulting from the dedifferentiated and proliferated cells by extension. Afterwards, the proliferated cells made the outer epidermis and inner parietal peritoneum invaginate into the interior dermis and formed blastema-like structures together with induced dedifferentiated dermal cells. Most interestingly, the arm regeneration in A. rollestoni was achieved synchronously by de novo arm-bud formation and growth, and arm-stump elongation. The crucial aspects of arm-bud formation included cell dedifferentiation, proliferation and migration, while those of arm-stump elongation included cell dedifferentiation, proliferation, invagination, and arm-wall-across blastema-like structure formation. The unique pattern and cellular mechanisms of amputated arm regeneration make it easier to understand the rapid regeneration process of adult starfish. 12Nitrogen starvation induces genome-wide activation of transposable elements in Arabidopsis显示文摘Nitrogen(N)availability is a major limiting factor for plant growth and agricultural productivity.Although the gene regulation network in response to N starvation has been extensively studied,it remains unknown whether N starvation has an impact on the activity of transposable elements(TEs).Here,we report that TEs can be transcriptionally activated in Arabidopsis under N starvation conditions.Through genetic screening of idm1-14 suppressors,we cloned GLU1,which encodes a glutamate synthase that catalyzes the synthesis of glutamate in the primary N assimilation pathway.We found that glutamate synthase 1(GLU1)and its functional homologs GLU2 and glutamate transport 1(GLT1)are redundantly required for TE silencing,suggesting that N metabolism can regulate TE activity.Transcriptome and methylome analyses revealed that N starvation results in genome-wide TE activation without inducing obvious alteration of DNA methylation.Genetic analysis indicated that N starvationinduced TE activation is also independent of other well-established epigenetic mechanisms,including histone methylation and heterochromatin decondensation.Our results provide new insights into the regulation of TE activity under stressful environments in planta.Yue Wang Yi Liu Shaofeng Qu Wenjie Liang Linhua Sun Dong Ci Zhitong Ren Liu-Min Fan Weiqiang Qian 2022Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,12:0
13Assessing the dynamics of human activity intensity and its natural and socioeconomic determinants in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau显示文摘Investigating the spatiotemporal variation of human activity intensity and its determinants is a crucial basis for further revealing the mechanism of human-environment interaction and optimizing the human development mode.In this study,the human activity intensity on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau(QTP)from 1990 to 2020 was measured based on the quantitative model of land use data and the actual regional background,and the under-lying natural and socioeconomic determinants were investigated using spatial econometric methods.The results demonstrate that(1)the human activity intensity in QTP has increased by 11.96%,and there are differences in different spatial scales;the areas with high human activity intensity are distributed in the Hehuang Valley where Xining City and its surrounding areas are located,as well as the One-River and Two-River Area where Lhasa City and surrounding areas are located.(2)Human activity intensity has significant positive spatial spillover,suggesting that local changes will cause changes in the same direction in adjacent areas.(3)The human activ-ity intensity in QTP is affected by various determinants.Concerning socioeconomic factors,the economic level has no significant impact on the human activity intensity in QTP,which differs from the general regional law.Both urbanization and traffic conditions have a significant positive effect,and the impact intensity continues to increase.Concerning natural factors,topographic relief has a significant positive effect;the impacts of temper-ature and vegetation coverage have changed from insignificant to a significant positive effect;the impacts of precipitation and river network density have not been verified;there is no linear relationship between altitude and human activity intensity in the entire QTP,while it exists in local regions.Finally,this study proposes three policy implications for the realization of a more harmonious human-environment relationship in QTP.Hanchu Liu Jie Fan Kan Zhou Xin Xu Haipeng Zhang Rui Guo Shaofeng Chen 2023Geography and Sustainability2023,4,4:0
14Integrating image processing and deep learning for effective analysis and classification of dust pollution in mining processes显示文摘A comprehensive evaluation method is proposed to analyze dust pollution generated in the production process of mines.The method employs an optimized image-processing and deep learning framework to characterize the gray and fractal features in dust images.The research reveals both linear and logarithmic correlations between the gray features,fractal dimension,and dust mass,while employing Chauvenel criteria and arithmetic averaging to minimize data discreteness.An integrated hazardous index is developed,including a logarithmic correlation between the index and dust mass,and a four-category dataset is subsequently prepared for the deep learning framework.Based on the range of the hazardous index,the dust images are divided into four categories.Subsequently,a dust risk classifcation system is established using the deep learning model,which exhibits a high degree of performance after the training process.Notably,the model achieves a testing accuracy of 95.3%,indicating its efectiveness in classifying diferent levels of dust pollution,and the precision,recall,and F1-score of the system confrm its reliability in analyzing dust pollution.Overall,the proposed method provides a reliable and efcient way to monitor and analyze dust pollution in mines.JiangJiang Yin Jiangyang Lei Kaixin Fan Shaofeng Wang 2023International Journal of Coal Science & Technology2023,10,4:0
