| 1 | Activation of disease resistance against Botryosphaeria dothidea by downregulating the expression of MdSYP121 in apple显示文摘In plants,the vesicle fusion process plays a vital role in pathogen defence.However,the importance of the vesicle fusion process in apple ring rot has not been studied.Here,we isolated and characterised the apple syntaxin gene MdSYP121.Silencing the MdSYP121 gene in transgenic apple calli increased tolerance to Botryosphaeria dothidea infection;this increased tolerance was correlated with salicylic acid(SA)synthesis-related and signalling-related gene transcription.In contrast,overexpressing MdSYP121 in apple calli resulted in the opposite phenotypes.In addition,the results of RNA sequencing(RNA-Seq)and quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR)assays suggested that MdSYP121 plays an important role in responses to oxidation–reduction reactions.Silencing MdSYP121 in apple calli enhanced the expression levels of reactive oxygen species(ROS)-related genes and the activity of ROS-related enzymes.The enhanced defence response status in MdSYP121-RNAi lines suggests that syntaxins are involved in the defence response to B.dothidea.More importantly,we showed that MdSYP121 forms a soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptor(SNARE)complex with MdSNAP33,and the complex may participate in regulating resistance to B.dothidea.In conclusion,by regulating the interaction of SA pathway and oxidation–reduction process,MdSYP121 can influence the pathogen infection process in apple. | Xiaowen He Yanhong Huo Xiuxia Liu Qianqian Zhou Shouqian Feng Xiang Shen Baohua Li Shujing Wu Xuesen Chen | 2018 | Horticulture Research2018,5,1: | 3 |
| 2 | Effects of ZrO_2 on the structure and magnetic properties of CoPt thin films显示文摘[CoPt 1.5 nm/ZrO2 x nm]10 multilayer films were deposited on glass substrates by magnetron sputtering and then an-nealed in vacuum at 600°C for 30 min. Their structures and magnetic properties were investigated as a function of ZrO2 content. The results show that the grain size and coercivity first increase and then decrease with the increase in ZrO2 content. The maximum coercivity and grain size are obtained at 37 vol.% of ZrO2. The content of ZrO2 in the film plays an impor-tant role in the separation of CoPt grains and in the reduction of intergrain exchange interaction. | 3 | In-situ polymerized cross-linked binder for cathode in lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Volume expansion and polysulfide shuttle effect are the main barriers for the commercialization of lithium-sulfur(Li-S) battery.In this work,we in-situ polymerized a cross-linked binder in sulfur cathode to solve the aforementioned problems using a facile method under mild conditions.Polycarbonate diol(PCDL),triethanolamine(TEA) and hexamethylene diisocyanate(HDI) were chosen as precursors to prepare the cross-linked binder.The in-situ polymerized binder(PTH) builds a strong network in sulfur cathode,which could restrain the volume expansion of sulfu r.Moreover,by adopting functional groups of oxygen atoms and nitrogen atoms,the binder could effectively facilitate transportation of Li-ion and adsorb polysulfide chemically.The Li-S battery with bare sulfur and carbon/sulfur composite cathodes and cross-linked PTH binder displays much better electrochemical performance than that of the battery with PVDF.The PTH-bare S cathode with a mass loading of 5.97 mg/cm^2 could deliver a capacity of 733.3 mAh/g at 0.2 C,and remained 585.5 mAh/g after 100 cycles.This in-situ polymerized binder is proved to be quite effective on restraining the volume expansion and suppressing polysulfide shuttle effect,then improving the electrochemical performance of Li-S battery. | Heng Ye Danni Lei Lu Shen Bin Ni Baohua Li Feiyu Kang Yan-Bing He | 2020 | Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,2: | 2 |
| 4 | An ultrathin and continuous Li_4Ti_5O_(12) coated carbon nanofiber interlayer for high rate lithium sulfur battery显示文摘Severe capacity fading and poor high rate performance of lithium sulfur(Li–S) battery caused by 'shuttle effect' and low conductivity of sulfur hampers its further developments and applications. Li_4Ti_5O_(12) (LTO)possesses high lithium ion conductivity, and it is also can be used as an active adsorbent for polysulfide. Herein, fine LTO particle coated carbon nanofibers(CNF) were prepared and a conductive network both for electron and lithium ion was built, which can greatly promote the electrochemical conversion of polysulfide and improve the rate performance of Li–S batteries. Meanwhile, a quantity of adsorption sites is constructed by defects of the surface of LTO-CNF membrane to effectively immobilize polysulfide. The multifunctional LTO-CNF interlayer could impede the shuttle effect and enhance comprehensive electrochemical performance of Li–S batteries, especially high rate performance. With such LTO-CNF interlayer,the Li–S battery presents a specific capacity of 641.9 mAh/g at 5 C rate. After 400 cycles at 1 C, a capacity of 618.0 mAh/g is retained. | 8 | Liver resection versus liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma within the Milan criteria based on estimated microvascular invasion risks显示文摘Background:Preoperative prediction of microvascular invasion(MVI)in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)may optimize individualized treatment decision-making.This study aimed to investigate the prognostic differences between HCC patients undergoing liver resection(LR)and liver transplantation(LT)based on predicted MVI risks.Methods:We analysed 905 patients who underwent LR,including 524 who underwent anatomical resection(AR)and 117 who underwent LT for HCC within the Milan criteria using propensity score matching.A nomogram model was used to predict preoperative MVI risk.Results:The concordance indices of the nomogram for predicting MVI were 0.809 and 0.838 in patients undergoing LR and LT,respectively.Based on an optimal cut-off value of 200 points,the nomogram defined patients as high-or low-risk MVI groups.LT resulted in a lower 5-year recurrence rate and higher 5-year overall survival(OS)rate than LR among the high-risk patients(23.6%vs 73.2%,P<0.001;87.8%vs 48.1%,P<0.001)and low-risk patients(19.0%vs 45.7%,P<0.001;86.5%vs 70.0%,P=0.002).The hazard ratios(HRs)of LT vs LR for recurrence and OS were 0.18(95%confidence interval[CI],0.09–0.37)and 0.12(95%CI,0.04–0.37)among the high-risk patients and 0.37(95%CI,0.21–0.66)and 0.36(95%CI,0.17–0.78)among the low-risk patients.LT also provided a lower 5-year recurrence rate and higher 5-year OS rate than AR among the high-risk patients(24.8%vs 63.5%,P=0.001;86.7%vs 65.7%,P=0.004),with HRs of LT vs AR for recurrence and OS being 0.24(95%CI,0.11–0.53)and 0.17(95%CI,0.06–0.52),respectively.The 5-year recurrence and OS rates between patients undergoing LT and AR were not significantly different in the low-risk patients(19.4%vs 28.3%,P=0.129;85.7%vs 77.8%,P=0.161).Conclusions:LT was superior to LR for patients with HCC within the Milan criteria with a predicted high or low risk of MVI.No significant differences in prognosis were found between LT and AR in patients with a low risk of MVI. | Pinghua Yang Fei Teng Shilei Bai Yong Xia Zhihao Xie Zhangjun Cheng Jun Li Zhengqing Lei Kui Wang Baohua Zhang Tian Yang Xuying Wan Hao Yin Hao Shen Timothy M Pawlik Wan Yee Lau Zhiren Fu Feng Shen | 2023 | Gastroenterology Report2023,11,1: | 1 |

| 14 | Analysis of the clinical characteristics and neonatal outcomes of seven cases of pregnancy luteoma discovered incidentally at cesarean section显示文摘Objective:In this study,we summarize the clinical characteristics and neonatal outcomes of patients with pregnancy luteomas that were identified incidentally at cesarean section in our hospital.We also provide a review of the existing literature relating to this condition.Methods:A total of seven cases of pregnancy luteoma were enrolled from our hospital into this retrospective study between March 2013 and February 2018.We then evaluated the clinical characteristics and neonatal outcomes of these patients.Results:All seven patients with pregnancy luteomas found incidentally during Cesarean sections at term as a result of obstetric indications.These masses were unilateral and ranged from 2 to 10 cm in size.All patients underwent partial ovariectomies or oophorocystectomy due to presumptive benign ovarian tumors.Two patients had gestational diabetes and one patient had gestational hypertension.One patient developed hirsutism and a deepened voice.Of the seven newborns,three were girls and four were boys.Physical examinations of the newborns were normal and no virilization was detected among the infant girls.Conclusion:Pregnancy luteoma may be more common than expected.Better strategies are now needed to educate obstetricians about the clinical features of pregnancy luteoma so that they can avoid unnecessary surgery. | Junhua Shen Lanlan Tang Genping Huang Xiaoxia Bai Baohua Li Zhengping Wang | 2021 | Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinical Medicine2021,1,2: | 0 |

All 3 patients were given radical operations, which were composed of cholecystectomy, resection of the extrahepatic biliary duct, cuniform hepatectomy of gallbladder bed, skeletonization of the hepatoduodenal ligament, hilar choledochojejunostomy, and clearance of tumor thrombus from biell renal carcinoma. | 19 | Effects of co-exposure to lead and manganese on learning and memory deficits显示文摘Lead(Pb) and manganese(Mn) are common neurotoxins. However, individuals are subject to co-exposures in real life, and it is therefore important to study these metals in combination. Weaning Sprague-Dawley rats were given ad libitum access to drinking water solutions containing Pb(100 mg/L), Mn(2.5 mg/m L) or a mixture, and each treatment had its own minocycline(50 mg/(kg·day)) supplement group. The results showed a significant difference in spatial memory and induction levels of hippocampal long-term potentiation(LTP) in all exposure groups when compared with controls. The combined-exposure group exhibited the most pronounced effect when compared with each of the single-metal exposure groups.Microglia displayed activation at day 3 after exposure alone or in combination, while astrocytes showed activation at day 5, accompanied by decreased expression levels of GLAST,GLT-1, and GS. Furthermore, the levels of glutamate in the synaptic cleft increased significantly. When microglial activation was inhibited by minocycline, the activation of astrocytes and the expression of GLAST, GLT-1, and GS were both reversed. In addition, upon minocycline treatment, hippocampal LTP impairment and cognitive injury were significantly alleviated in each of the exposure groups. These results suggest that combined exposure to Pb and Mn can cause greater effects on cognition and synaptic plasticity when compared to single-metal exposure groups. | 20 | Separation and Preliminary Identification of Intestinal Probiotics of Laying Hens显示文摘[Objective] The paper was to isolate and identify probiotics in the intestine of laying hens. [Method] The intestinal probiotics in laying hens at peak period were isolated using conventional separation methods; the physical and chemical properties of target strains and in vitro antibacterial effects were measured. Moreover, the safety test of chicks was conducted. [Result] Four strains of lactobacillus were isolated from the jejunum of laying hens, including Lactobacillus plantarum, Bacillus acidophilus, L. delbrueckii subsp. Delbrueckii and L. delbrueckii subsp. Lactis, and their inhibition zone diameters were 18.30, 16.07, 11.45, 17.26 mm, respectively. One strain of Lactobacillus, L. brevis, was isolated from the cecum, with the inhibition zone diameter of 10.26 mm. Three strains of bacillus were isolated from the cecum, including Bacillus subtilis, B. cereus and B. licheniformis, and their inhibition zone diameters were 9.25, 8.46 and 8.37 mm, respectively. Daily drinking 2 billion units of viable bacteria was the safe dosage for chicks. [Conclusion] Eight strains of probiotics had certain inhibitory effect on Escherichia coli O_2, and had no toxic side effects to chicks.
