1Characteristics and Source Identification of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Urban Soils: A Review显示文摘Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) are mainly produced by combustion processes and consist of a number of toxic compounds.They are always emitted as a mixture and have become a major type of pollutants in urban areas.The degree of soil contamination by PAHs is of special concern in areas immediately in proximity to cities with heavy traffic,factories,older buildings,and infrastructure.The accumulation of soil PAHs is also affected by non-anthropogenic factors,such as climate,vegetation,and soil property.This paper reviews three typical source identification techniques,including diagnostic ratios,positive matrix factorization,and principle components analysis.The advantages or disadvantages of these techniques are analyzed.It is recommended that multiple identification techniques be used to determine the sources in order to minimize the weaknesses inherent in each method and thereby to strengthen the conclusions for PAH source identification.WANG Chunhui WU Shaohua ZHOU Shenglu SHI Yaxing SONG Jing 2017Pedosphere2017,27,1:18
2Heavy metals contents in soil profiles of typical agricultural lands in Yixing,Jiangsu Province,China显示文摘The effect of land use pattern on the heavy metals(HMs)distribution in soil profiles was investigated in Yixing City,China,for the four typical types of land utilization,i.e.vegetable fields on the plain,paddy fields,tea gardens on hilly lands and bamboo groves.The variance of HMs concentration in the depth of 0-15 cm,15-30 cm,30-60 cm of soil profiles was compared among the different tillage ages. Results showed there was a notable accumulation of Cd,Hg,Cu,Pb,Zn and Cr in the soil profiles of vegetable fields and paddy fields causing a pollution of Cu,Hg and Cd in some profiles,while no remarkable accumulation of HMs in the soil profiles of the tea gardens and bamboo groves was found. The accumulation extent of HMs in the soil profiles of the four kinds of land use followed a sequence of vegetable fields>paddy fields>tea gardens>bamboo groves.The accumulation of HMs was mainly due to the industry,transportation,other urban human activities,and intensive use of fertilizers and pesticides.The downward leaching of HMs was relatively remarkable in the soil profiles of vegetable fields. There was an accumulation in surface and subsurface layers for Cd,Hg,Pb,Zn in the soil profiles of paddy fields and tea gardens,and for Cd,Hg in those of bamboo groves.Serious pollution effects of Hg, Pb,and Zn have been shown in the soil of vegetable fields.All the four kinds of agricultural land are basically free from the pollution of the external sources of As and Ni.With the increase of tillage time, the soil of vegetable and paddy fields will face the potential risk of HMs pollution,which mainly comes from Hg,Cd and Cu,whereas that of tea gardens and bamboo groves faces a relatively small risk.Zhou ShengLu Liao FuQiang Wu ShaoHua Zhang HongFu Ren Kui 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,S1:11
3Mycorrhizal Inoculation Affects Pb and Cd Accumulation and Translocation in Pakchoi(Brassica chinensis L.)显示文摘Heavy metal(HM) contamination in soils is an environmental issue worldwide that threatens the quality and safety of crops and human health. A greenhouse experiment was carried out to investigate the growth, mycorrhizal colonization, and Pb and Cd accumulation of pakchoi(Brassica chinensis L. cv. Suzhou) in response to inoculation with three arbuscular mycorrhizal(AM) fungi(AMF), Funneliformis mosseae, Glomus versiforme, and Rhizophagus intraradices, aimed at exploring how AMF inoculation affected safe crop production by altering plant-soil interaction. The symbiotic relationship was well established between pakchoi and three AMF inocula even under Pb or Cd stress, where the colonization rates in the roots ranged from 24.5% to 38.5%. Compared with the non-inoculated plants, the shoot biomass of the inoculated plants increased by 8.7%–22.1% and 9.2%–24.3% in Pb and Cd addition treatments, respectively. Both glomalin-related soil protein(GRSP) and polyphosphate concentrations reduced as Pb or Cd concentration increased. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi inoculation significantly enhanced total absorbed Pb and Cd(except for a few samples) and increased the distribution ratio(root/shoot) in pakchoi at each Pb or Cd addition level. However, the three inocula significantly decreased Pb concentration in pakchoi shoots by 20.6%–67.5% in Pb addition treatments, and significantly reduced Cd concentration in the shoots of pakchoi in the Cd addition treatments(14.3%–54.1%), compared to the non-inoculated plants.Concentrations of Pb and Cd in the shoots of inoculated pakchois were all below the allowable limits of Chinese Food Safety Standard.The translocation factor of Pb or Cd increased significantly with increasing Pb or Cd addition levels, while there was no significant difference among the three AMF inocula at each metal addition level. Meanwhile, compared with the non-inoculated plants, AMF inocula significantly increased soil p H, electrical conductivity, and Pb or Cd concentrations in soil organic matter in the soils at the highest Pb or Cd dose after harvest of pakchoi, whereas the proportion of bioavailable Pb or Cd fraction declined in the AMF inoculated soil. 4Spatial distribution and sources of soil heavy metals in the outskirts of Yixing City,Jiangsu Province,China显示文摘City outskirts serve as the concentration centers for the pollutants discharged from various sources such as industry,agriculture and transportation.With the acceleration of industrialization and urbanization,the eco-environment of the city outskirts has become a hot spot of public concern.An analysis was conducted in this paper on the soil in the outskirts of Yixing City using frequency distribution functions.The heavy metal sources in this region had been divided into two components,i.e.natural background component and strong human disturbance component.The corresponding interpretation of the distribution pattern and features of heavy metal elements was presented by spatial analysis.The results showed that the strong human disturbance components of Hg,Pb,and Cu accounted for 36.9%, 26.7%,and 23.3%in their contents respectively,which indicated directly the serious effect of human activities on heavy metal contents.Hg and Pb,because of the human disturbance,showed the greatest spatial variability,and human activities intensified the heterogeneity of the spatial distribution.The anisotropic analysis showed the higher organisation of Hg and Zn in the direction of urban-rural transition,which indicated their spatial characteristics with urban-rural transition.Pb displayed distinctive structure in the vertical direction of urban-rural transition,which was largely controlled by highway distribution.Cu content in paddy fields was significantly higher than those of other land-use-types,and the agricultural non-point source pollution played an important role in the distribution pattern of Cu.ShaoHua Wu ShengLu Zhou DeZhi Yang FuQiang Liao HongFu Zhang Kui Ren 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,S1:7

6Spatial Distribution and Changes of Heavy Metals of Agricultural Lands in Typical Pregrading Coast in Dongtai City,Jiangsu Province,China显示文摘According to the historical changes of coastal lines, seven soil sampling districts, from land to sea, were arranged in Dongtai City, Jiangsu Province to sample soils from surface and profile. Concentrations of seven major heavy metals (HMs), granularity, pH, organic matters and C/N of the soil samples were analyzed. Results show that concentrations of heavy metals in agricultural land present a certain spatial variance, decreasing from land to sea. Pollution assessment indicates that the agricultural soils were not polluted by HMs, but the potential pollution of Cu and Hg needs to be alerted. Different HMs accumulate in the surface and sub-surface of the soil profiles, and concentrations of Hg and Pb decrease significantly with the increment of soil depth. Concentrations of HMs exhibit a significantly negative correlation to pH, but have no significant relation with organic matters in soil. Principle component analysis show that the concentrations of HMs relate to the land use history. Concentrations of Hg, Ni and Cr in soil are closely related with land use history, and concentrations of Pb, Cu and Cr are affected by land use history as well as other factors. 19Scattering matrix theory for Cs Rydberg atoms in magnetic field显示文摘Based on the closed orbit theory framework together with the quantum defect the-ory and time-independent scattering matrices theory,we calculate the recurrence spectra of diamagnetic Cs atoms at several different scaled energies near the second ionization threshold.It is revealed that the new extra peaks in spectra are attributed to the combination recurrences of semiclassical closed orbits arising from core-scattered events.This method considers the dynamic states of the Rydberg electron in the core region and long-range region and can be analytically resumed to include all orders of core-scattering automatically.With this approach a convergent recurrence spectrum can be reasonably achieved.It is found that the spectral complexity depends highly sensitively on the scaled energy.With the in-crease of the scaled energy,the spectral structure changes from simple to com-plicate and the dynamic feature from regular to chaotic.The comparison of the re-currence spectra with Dando's result under the same conditions demonstrates that there exist some similarities and differences between them,and furthermore,the feasibility of the scattering matrix method is explained.LI HongYun GAO Song XU XueYou LIN ShengLu 2008Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2008,51,5:1
