| 1 | Progress of Jinping Underground laboratory for Nuclear Astrophysics(JUNA)显示文摘Jinping Underground laboratory for Nuclear Astrophysics(JUNA) will take the advantage of the ultra-low background of CJPL lab and high current accelerator based on an ECR source and a highly sensitive detector to directly study for the first time a number of crucial reactions occurring at their relevant stellar energies during the evolution of hydrostatic stars. In its first phase, JUNA aims at the direct measurements of^(25)Mg(p,γ)^(26)Al,^(19)F(p,α)^(16)O,^(13)C(α,n)^(16)O and ^(12)C(α,γ)^(16)O reactions. The experimental setup,which includes an accelerator system with high stability and high intensity, a detector system, and a shielding material with low background, will be established during the above research. | 2 | A numerical study of generation and propagation of type-a and type-b internal solitary waves in the northern South China Sea显示文摘Numerical simulations based on a high-resolution three-dimensional MIT general circulation model(MITgcm)using realistic topography and tidal forcing are conducted to investigate the generation and propagation of the so-called type-a waves(large-amplitude rank-ordered wave packets)and type-b waves(isolated wave packets)in the northern South China Sea.At first,we summarized and analyzed the generation and propagation characteristics of these waves.Then,energy budget at the Luzon Strait is calculated.Energy generation has three local maxima every day,of which the largest one corresponds to the emergence of the type-a wave.Energy flux at the west boundary of the Luzon Strait shows two local maxima each day.The larger one is consistent with the generation of the type-a wave and the smaller one is in correspondence with the generation of the type-b wave.Sensitivity experiments are designed to explore the role of the east and west ridge of the Luzon Strait on the generation and propagation of the type-a and type-b waves.It is found that the east ridge is indispensable on the generation of the type-a wave while the west ridge has little contribution.The west ridge diminishes the type-a waves'amplitude but hardly changes their propagation speed.The type-b waves also come from perturbation signals which originate from the east ridge and are enhanced in amplitude and reduced in propagation speed by the west ridge. | Zhi Zeng Xueen Chen Chunxin Yuan Shengquan Tang Lequan Chi | 2019 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2019,38,11: | 2 |

| 4 | Changes of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) burden globally and in China over three decades: a secondary analysis of global HIV statistics显示文摘Background: A more comprehensive understanding of the trends of incidence, prevalence, and mortality in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and their complex interrelationships, may provide important evidence for decision-making related to HIV prevention and control. The variances in these indices between different population groups, genders, and ages are critical to decipher evolving patterns of the HIV epidemic in specific populations.Methods: A secondary analysis of relevant data was conducted using data extracted from the Global Burden of Disease study of 2019. HIV/acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) incidence, prevalence, AIDS-related mortality, and mortality-to-prevalence ratio (MPR) for annual percentage change, average annual percentage change (AAPC), and corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated using joinpoint regression statistical analysis.Results: The AAPC of HIV/AIDS incidence, prevalence, AIDS-related mortality rate, and MPR were -1.4 (95% CI: -1.6, -1.2), 4.1 (95% CI: 4.0, 4.3), 2.0 (95% CI: 1.7, 2.3), and -2.1 (95% CI: -2.3, -1.8) between 1990 and 2019 globally, and were 3.5 (95% CI: 2.2, 4.8), 6.9 (95% CI: 6.8, 7.0), 8.1 (95% CI: 7.1, 9.1), and 1.2 (95% CI: 0.1, 2.3) in China during the same period. In terms of differences in the preceding indicators by gender, we observed a similar pattern of trends for male and female genders both globally and in China during the entire study period. Each specific age group exhibits a distinct pattern in terms of incidence, prevalence, mortality rate, and MPR both globally and in China.Conclusions: Prevalence and mortality rates of HIV/AIDS have increased between 1990 and 2019 globally and in China. While the incidence rate and MPR have declined globally over the past three decades, these two indicators are observed to present an increasing trend in China. There is a high HIV burden among young and middle-aged adults globally;however, the elderly have a high HIV burden in China. | 5 | Effect of TiO_2 content on the microwave dielectric properties of BaO-ZnO-TiO_2 ceramics显示文摘In this paper,the BaO-0.6ZnO-xTiO2 ceramics with x=2.5-2.8 have been prepared by the conventional solid-state ceramic route for the purpose of investigating the effect of TiO2 content on the microwave dielectric properties.The XRD results showed that the main crystal phase in the sintered ceramics was Ba4ZnTi11O27 and that the additional phases:Ba2ZnTi5O13 and BaZn2.03Ti3.93O10.89 were presented,depending on the TiO2 contents.The SEM photographs of the samples sintered at 1200℃ for 2 h showed a high compact microstructure.Because the phase composition of ceramics samples was changed with TiO2 content,the dielectric constant(εr),the quality factor values(Q×f) and the temperature coefficient of resonant frequency(τf) were first increased,continuously came up to a peak value,and then let up.It was lucky to find that the sample with composition BaO-0.6ZnO-2.7TiO2 had both the maximum dielectric constant εr=36.1 and the maximum Q×f value of 29320 GHz,and more importantly,it had an acceptable temperature coefficient of resonant frequency τf=10.45 ppm/℃. | YU ShengQuan LONG MingZhu TANG Bin ZHANG ShuRen ZHOU XiaoHua | 2011 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,6: | 1 |
| 6 | Numerical investigation of the South China Sea deep circulation显示文摘Based on a two-level nested model from the global ocean to the western Pacific and then to the South China Sea(SCS),the high-resolution SCS deep circulation is numerically investigated.The SCS deep circulation shows a basin-scale cyclonic structure with a strong southward western boundary current in summer(July),a northeast-southwest through-flow pattern across the deep basin without a western boundary current in winter(January),and a transitional pattern in spring and autumn.The sensitivity model experiments illustrate that the Luzon Strait deep overflow is the main factor controlling the seasonal variation in the SCS deep circulation.The SCS surface wind can significantly influence the SCS deep circulation in winter.The Luzon Strait deep overflow transport from the Pacific into the SCS ranges from 0.68×10^(6) m^(3)/s to 1.83×10^(6) m^(3)/s,reaching its maximum in summer(July,up to 1.83×10^(6) m^(3)/s),less in autumn and winter,and the minimum in spring(May,0.68×10^(6) m^(3)/s).In summer,the strong Luzon Strait deep overflow dominates the SCS deep circulation when the role of the SCS surface wind is small.In winter,the weaker Luzon Strait deep overflow and SCS surface wind jointly drive the SCS deep circulation into a northeast-southwest through-flow pattern.The potential vorticity(PV)dissipation in the SCS deep basin reaches its maximum(−0.122 m^(2)/s^(2))in May and its minimum(−0.380 m^(2)/s^(2))in July. | Shengquan Tang Xueen Chen Zhi Zeng Xin Liu | 2022 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2022,41,5: | 0 |
| 7 | Experimental study on magnetic drug targeting in treating cholangiocarcinoma based on internal magnetic fields显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the effect of magnetic nanoparticle containing 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) targeting in treating chol- angiocarcinoma based on internal magnetic fields built inside the tumor. Methods: 32 nude mice of BABL/C bearing ectopic tumor were built by subcutaneouly injecting cholangiocarcinoma cell line QBC 939. Three weeks after tumor inoculation, the animal models were divided equally into four groups at random including: (a) group A, consisting of internal magnetic field built by magnetic biliary stent wires inserted into tumor tissue and receiving magnetic nanoparticles containing 5-FU administered via tail vein injection at 250 mg/kg for consecutive five days; (b) group B, receiving placebo (sodium chloride); (c) group C, receiving pure magnetic biliary stent wires without the applying of magnetic nanoparticles; (d) group D, consisting of external magnetic fields and the same treatment of magnetic nanoparticles containing 5-FU as group A. The tumor volumes were measured every 3 days, totally six times from treatment started. Tumor tissues were observed by transmission electron microscope when the nude mice were killed after the observation period. Results: The experimental group (group A) showed significantly therapeutic efficacy. Moreover, apoptosis of tumor cells could be easily detected in this group.
