An efficient bifunctional electrocatalyst derived from layer-by-layer self-assembly of a three-dimensional porous Co-N-C@graphene显示文摘Three-dimensional (3D) porous carbon-based materials with tunable composition and microstructure are of great interest for the development of oxygen involved electrocatalytic reactions. Here, we report the synthesis of 3D porous carbon-based electrocatalyst by self-assembling Co-metal organic frameworks (MOF) building blocks on graphene via a layer-by-layer technique. Precise control of the structure and morphology is achieved by varying the MOF layer to tune the electrocatalytic properties. The as-produced electrocatalyst exhibits an excellent catalytic activity for the oxygen reduction reaction in 0.1molL^-1 KOH, showing a high onset potential of 0.963V vs. reversible hydrogen electrode (RHE) and a low tafel slope of 54mVdec^-1, compared to Pt/C (0.934V and 52mVdec^-1, respectively). Additionally, it shows a slightly lower potential vs. RHE (1.72V) than RuO2 (1.75V) at 10mAcm^-2 in an alkaline electrolyte. A rechargeable Zn-air battery based on the as-produced 3D porous catalyst demonstrates a high peak power density of 119mWcm^-2 at a cell voltage of 0.578V while retaining an excellent stability over 250 charge-discharge cycles. | Shichang Cai Rui Wang William M. | 2 | Rational design of hierarchically porous Fe-N-doped carbon as efficient electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reaction and Zn-air batteries显示文摘The rational design and construction of hierarchically porous nanostructure for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) electrocatalysts is crucial to facilitate the exposure of accessible active sites and promote the mass/electron transfer under the gas-solid-liquid triple-phase condition. Herein, an ingenious method through the pyrolysis of creative polyvinylimidazole coordination with Zn/Fe salt precursors is developed to fabricate hierarchically porous Fe-N-doped carbon framework as efficient ORR electrocatalyst. The volatilization of Zn species combined with the nanoscale Kirkendall effect of Fe dopants during the pyrolysis build the hierarchical micro-, meso-, and macroporous nanostructure with a high specific surface area (1,586 m^(2)·g^(−1)), which provide sufficient exposed active sites and multiscale mass/charge transport channels. The optimized electrocatalyst exhibits superior ORR activity and robust stability in both alkaline and acidic electrolytes. The Zn-air battery fabricated by such attractive electrocatalyst as air cathode displays a higher peak power density than that of Pt/C-based Zn-air battery, suggesting the great potential of this electrocatalyst for Zn-air batteries. | Zihan Meng Neng Chen Shichang Cai Jiawei Wu Rui Wang Tian Tian Haolin Tang | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,12: | 4
A facile preparation of hausmannite as a high-performance catalyst for toluene combustion显示文摘Mesoporous transition metal oxide catalysts are well-used in the elimination of volatile organic compounds. In this study,we developed an efficient method for the preparation of mesoporous-Mn_(3)O_(4)(mMn_(3)O_(4))without the use of templates or surfactants. In this method,KCl protects oxygen defects on the surface of fresh Mn_(3)O_(4) crystallites.m-Mn_(3)O_(4) shows higher ameliorative catalytic activity than bulk-Mn_(3)O_(4)(b-Mn_(3)O_(4)) and calcined-Mn_(3)O_(4)(c-Mn_(3)O_(4)),achieving toluene catalytic oxidation of T_(10) and T_(90)(the temperature at a conversion rate of about 10%and 90%)at 191℃and 230℃,respectively(WHSV=40,000 ml·g^(-1)·h^(-1)).Based on various characterizations, the prepared m-Mn_(3)O_(4)has large specific surface area and abundant oxygen defects, and thus can provide more surface active sites, which give it superior toluene combustion activity. | Qi Liu Gao Cheng Ming Sun Weixiong Yu Xiaohong Zeng Shichang Tang Yongfeng li Lin Yu | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,4: | 1
Pressure-dependent electronic, optical, and mechanical properties of antiperovskite X_(3)NP(X=Ca,Mg):A first-principles study显示文摘Hydrostatic pressure provides an efficient way to tune and optimize the properties of solid materials without chang-ing their composition. In this work,we investigate the electronic, optical, and mechanical properties of antiperovskite X_(3)NP(X^(2+)=Ca,Mg)upon compression by first-principles calculations. Our results reveal that the system is anisotropic, and the lat-tice constant a of X_(3)NP exhibits the fastest rate of decrease upon compression among the three directions, which is different from the typical Pnma phase of halide and chalcogenide perovskites.Meanwhile,Ca_(3)NP has higher compressibility than Mg_(3)NP due to its small bulk modulus. The electronic and optical properties of Mg_(3)NP show small fluctuations upon compression, but those of Ca_(3)NP are more sensitive to pressure due to its higher compressibility and lower unoccupied 3d orbital energy. For example, the band gap, lattice dielectric constant, and exciton binding energy of Ca_(3)NP decrease rapidly as the pressure increases. In addition, the increase in pressure significantly improves the optical absorption and theoretical conversion effi-ciency of Ca_(3)NP.Finally,the mechanical properties of X_(3)NP are also increased upon compression due to the reduction in bond length, while inducing a brittle-to-ductile transition. Our research provides theoretical guidance and insights for future experi-mental tuning of the physical properties of antiperovskite semiconductors by pressure. | Chunbao Feng Changhe Wu Xin Luo Tao Hu Fanchuan Chen Shichang Li Shengnan Duan Wenjie Hou Dengfeng Li Gang Tang Gang Zhang | 2023 | Journal of Semiconductors2023,44,10: | 0
Nitrogen doped porous carbon-based bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst with controllable phosphorus content for zinc-air battery显示文摘The controllable construction of non-noble metal based bifunctional catalysts with high activities towards oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is of great significance, but remains a challenge.Herein,we reported an effective method to synthesize cobalt-nitrogen doped mesoporous carbon-based bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst with controllable phosphorus content(Co-N-P_(X)-MC,X=0.5,1.0,1.5,2.0).The mesoporous carbon substrate endowed the asprepared samples with more exposed active surface(236.50 m^(2)·g^(−1))and the most appropriate doping ratio of phosphorus had been investigated to be 1.5(Co-N-P1.5-MC).For ORR,Co-N-P1.5-MC exhibited excellent catalytic activity with more positive onset potential(1.01 V)and half-wave potential(0.84 V)than the other samples. For OER,Co-N-P1.5-MC also showed a low overpotential of 415 mV.Combining experimental results and density-functional theory(DFT)calculations, the outstanding bifunctional catalytic performance of Co-N-P1.5-MC was due to the synergistic cooperation between the P and N dopants, which could reduce the reaction barriers and was favorable for ORR and OER.Moreover, the Zn-air battery using Co-N-P1.5-MC as the cathode showed remarkable battery performance with high stability(could operate stably for over 160 h at 10 mA·cm^(−2))and maximum power density(119 mW·cm^(−2)),demonstrating its potential for practical applications. This work could provide significant enlightenment towards the design and construction of bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst for next-generation electrochemical devices. | Shichang Cai Zihan Meng Gaojie Li Yu An Yapeng Cheng Erjun Kan Bo Ouyang Haining Zhang Haolin Tang | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,4: | 0
Dielectric Patch Resonator and Antenna显示文摘This paper presents an overview of dielectric patch(DP)antennas developed in recent years. The employed DP resonator composed of a DP and a bottom substrate is analyzed comprehensively here, enabling the easy realization of a quasi-planar DP antenna. It combines the dual advantages of the conventional microstrip patch(MP)antenna and dielectric resonator(DR)antenna in terms of profile, gain, bandwidth, radiation efficiency, and design freedom.Furthermore, the DP antenna inherits the multi-mode characteristic of the DR antenna, thus it has a large number of high-order modes, including TMmn mode and TEmn mode. The high-order modes are widely applied, for example,by combining with the dominant TM10 mode to expand the bandwidth,or selecting multiple higher-order modes to implement a high-gain antenna.Additionally, the non-radiation high-order modes are also utilized to produce natural radiation null in filtering antenna design. In this paper, the design theories and techniques of DP antenna are introduced and investigated, including calculation and control methods of the resonant mode frequencies, analysis of the radiation mechanism, and applications of the multi-mode characteristic. This overview could provide guidance for the subsequent antenna design, thus effectively avoid time-consuming optimization. | Jianxin Chen Xueying Wang Shichang Tang Yongle Wu | 2023 | China Communications2023,20,8: | 0
