| 1 | RNA-seq analysis of Paris polyphylla var.yunnanensis roots identified candidate genes for saponin synthesis显示文摘Paris polyphylla Smith var.yunnanensis(Franch.) Hand.-Mazz.is a rhizomatous, herbaceous, perennial plant that has been used for more than a thousand years in traditional Chinese medicine. It is facing extinction due to overharvesting.Steroids are the major therapeutic components in Paris roots, the commercial value of which increases with age.To date,no genomic data on the species have been available. In this study, transcriptome analysis of an 8-year-old root and a 4-year-old root provided insight into the metabolic pathways that generate the steroids.Using Illumina sequencing technology,we generated a high-quality sequence and demonstrated de novo assembly and annotation of genes in the absence of prior genome information.Approximately 87,577 unique sequences, with an average length of 614 bases, were obtained from the root cells.Using bioinformatics methods,we annotated approximately 65.51% of the unique sequences by conducting a similarity search with known genes in the National Center for Biotechnology Information's non-redundant database. The unique transcripts were functionally classified using the Gene Ontology hierarchy and the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes database.Of 3082 genes that were identified as significantly differentially expressed between roots of different ages,1518(49.25%) were upregulated and 1564(50.75%) were downregulated in the older root.Metabolic pathway analysis predicted that 25 unigenes were responsible for the biosynthesis of the saponins steroids. These data represent a valuable resource for future genomic studies on this endangered species and will be valuable for efforts to genetically engineer P.polyphylla and facilitate saponin-rich plant development. | Tao Liu Xiaoxian Li Shiqing Xie Ling Wang Shengchao Yang | 2016 | Plant Diversity2016,38,3: | 4 |
| 2 | Understanding the spatial representativeness of air quality monitoring network and its application to PM_(2.5)in the China's Mainland显示文摘Air pollution has seriously endangered human health and the natural ecosystem during the last decades.Air quality monitoring stations(AQMS)have played a critical role in providing valuable data sets for recording regional air pollutants. The spatial representativeness of AQMS is a critical parameter when choosing the location of stations and assessing effects on the population to long-term exposure to air pollution. In this paper,we proposed a methodological framework for assessing the spatial representativeness of the regional air quality monitoring network and applied it to ground-based PM_(2.5)observation in the mainland of China.Weighted multidimensional Euclidean distance between each pixel and the stations was used to determine the representativeness of the existing monitoring network. In addition, the K-means clustering method was adopted to improve the spatial representativeness of the existing AQMS.The results showed that there were obvious differences among the representative area of 1820 stations in the mainland of China. The monitoring stations could well represent the PM_(2.5)spatial distribution of the entire region, and the effectively represented area(i.e.the area where the Euclidean distance between the pixels and the stations was lower than the average value)accounted for 67.32%of the total area and covered 93.12%of the population.Forty additional stations were identified in the Northwest,North China, and Northeast regions, which could improve the spatial representativeness by 14.31%. | Ling Su Chanchan Gao Xiaoli Ren Fengying Zhang Shanshan Cao Shiqing Zhang Tida Chen Mengqing Liu Bingchuan Ni Min Liu | 2022 | Geoscience Frontiers2022,13,3: | 3 |

| 9 | On a Partially Non-Stationary Vector AR Model with Vector GARCH Noises:Estimation and Testing显示文摘This paper studies a partially nonstationary vector autoregressive(VAR)model with vector GARCH noises. We study the full rank and the reduced rank quasi-maximum likelihood estimators(QMLE)of parameters in the model. It is shown that both QMLE of long-run parameters asymptotically converge to a functional of two correlated vector Brownian motions.Based these, the likelihood ratio(LR)test statistic for cointegration rank is shown to be a functional of the standard Brownian motion and normal vector, asymptotically. As far as we know, our test is new in the literature. The critical values of the LR test are simulated via the Monte Carlo method. The performance of this test in finite samples is examined through Monte Carlo experiments. We apply our approach to an empirical example of three interest rates. | Chor-yiu Sin Zichuan Mi Shiqing Ling | 2024 | Communications in Mathematical Research2024,40,1: | 0 |
| 10 | Scavenger receptor A-mediated nanoparticles target M1 macrophages for acute liver injury显示文摘Acute liver injury(ALI)has an elevated fatality rate due to untimely and ineffective treatment.Although, schisandrin B(SchB)has been extensively used to treat diverse liver diseases, its therapeutic efficacy on ALI was limited due to its high hydrophobicity.Palmitic acid-modified serum albumin(PSA)is not only an effective carrier for hydrophobic drugs, but also has a superb targeting effect via scavenger receptor-A(SR-A)on the M1 macrophages, which are potential therapeutic targets for ALI.Compared with the common macrophage-targeted delivery systems,PSA enables site-specific drug delivery to reduce off-target toxicity.Herein,we prepared SchB-PSA nanoparticles and further assessed their therapeutic effect on ALI.In vitro, compared with human serum albumin encapsulated SchB nanoparticles(SchB-HSA NPs),the SchB-PSA NPs exhibited more potent cytotoxicity on lipopolysaccharide(LPS)stimulated Raw264.7(LAR)cells,and LAR cells took up PSA NPs 8.79 times more than HSA NPs.As expected, the PSA NPs also accumulated more in the liver.Moreover,SchB-PSA NPs dramatically reduced the activation of NF-κB signaling, and significantly relieved inflammatory response and hepatic necrosis.Notably, the high dose of SchB-PSA NPs improved the survival rate in 72 h of ALI mice to 75%.Hence,SchB-PSA NPs are promising to treat ALI. | Rongping Zhang Shiqing Luo Ting Zhao Mengying Wu Lu Huang Ling Zhang Yuan Huang Huile Gao Xun Sun Tao Gong Zhirong Zhang | 2023 | Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2023,18,3: | 0 |
