Electrochemical measurements used for assessment of corrosion and protection of metallic materials in the field:A critical review显示文摘Corrosion degradation is detrimental to metal structures as it shortens their lifetime and leads to huge economic losses and unexpected disasters. Therefore, the detection and monitoring of corrosion degradation is of great importance.Herein,we briefly review the state-of-the-art electrochemical methods, instrumentation(based on virtual instrumentation),and advanced sensor/probes that are used in the field for the assessment of corrosion damage.Typical corrosion monitoring results, some of which have been obtained at Tianjin University in the past 30 years, for metallic materials and organic coating/metal systems in atmospheric, marine, and soil conditions in the field are presented.Detection methods, data analysis, and theoretical and mathematical models regarding each corrosion system are discussed, and the challenges, problems and possible solutions for each case are suggested.Lastly, future developments, such as wireless, intelligent, and automatic electrochemical measurement, that will augment the present electrochemical methods of evaluating corrosion degradation are summarized.Da-Hai Xia Cheng-Man Deng Digby Macdonald Sina Jamali Douglas Mills Jing-Li Luo Michael G.Strebl Mehdi Amiri Weixian Jin Shizhe Song Wenbin Hu 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,17:8
High-performance distributed feedback quantum dot lasers with laterally coupled dielectric gratings显示文摘The combination of grating-based frequency-selective optical feedback mechanisms, such as distributed feedback(DFB)or distributed Bragg reflector(DBR)structures, with quantum dot(QD)gain materials is a main approach towards ultrahigh-performance semiconductor lasers for many key novel applications,as either stand-alone sources or on-chip sources in photonic integrated circuits. However, the fabrication of conventional buried Bragg grating structures on GaAs,GaAs/Si,GaSb,and other material platforms has been met with major material regrowth difficulties. We report a novel and universal approach of introducing laterally coupled dielectric Bragg gratings to semiconductor lasers that allows highly controllable, reliable, and strong coupling between the grating and the optical mode.We implement such a grating structure in a low-loss amorphous silicon material alongside GaAs lasers with InAs/GaAs QD gain layers. The resulting DFB laser arrays emit at pre-designed 0.8 THz local area network wavelength division multiplexing frequency intervals in the 1300 nm band with record performance parameters, including sidemode suppression ratios as high as 52.7 dB,continuous-wave output power of 26.6 mW(room temperature)and 6 mW(at 55℃),and ultralow relative intensity noise(RIN)of<-165 dB/Hz(2.5-20 GHz).The devices are also capable of isolator-free operating under very high external reflection levels of up to-12.3 dB while maintaining high spectral purity and ultralow RIN qualities. These results validate the novel laterally coupled dielectric grating as a technologically superior and potentially cost-effective approach for fabricating DFB and DBR lasers free of their semiconductor material constraints, which are thus universally applicable across different material platforms and wavelength bands.ZHUOHUI YANG ZHENGQING DING LIN LIU HANCHENG ZHONG SHENG CAO XINZHONG ZHANG SHIZHE LIN XIAOYING HUANG HUADI DENG YING YU SIYUAN YU 2022Photonics Research2022,10,5:3
Contralateral needling at the foot of unaffected side combining with rehabilitation treatment for motor dysfunction of hand after ischemic stroke:study protocol for a randomized controlled pilot trial显示文摘This pilot study is to assess the feasibility and the effect of a combination therapy of rehabilitation treatment and contralateral needling, which is manipulated at the foot of the unaffected side, for the recovery of the paretic hand post-stroke.This prospective pilot clinical trial will recruit 72 stroke patients with paretic hands and a disease course of 14 to 90 d.Patients will be randomized into two groups:the control group will receive conventional Xingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture and basic treatment for the stroke;based on the control group, the observation group will receive the contralateral needling at the foot of the unaffected side combined with the rehabilitation movement of the paretic hand.12 sessions will be administrated for 2 weeks. The primary outcome,FuglMeyer Assessment, and the secondary outcomes, the handgrip strength, the range of motion, the modified Barthel index, and the Brunnstrom recovery stages, will be measured the recovery of the hand motor function during the 2 weeks'intervention. This study aims to investigate the instant effect of contralateral needling at the foot of the unaffected side combined with the rehabilitation treatment movement for patients with the paretic hand of Poststroke motor dysfunction and provide the previous evidence for the future large sample studies.LI Menghan YAN Yan DENG Shizhe WANG Yu FU Yu SHI Lei YANG Jin ZHANG Chunhong 2023Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,5:1
Effects of anterior sciatic nerve acupuncture on lower limb paralysis after cerebral infarction:study protocol for a randomized controlled trial显示文摘Stroke is the main cause of disability in the middle and old age.Hemiplegia, especially lower limb paralysis, often leads to the loss of self-care ability and a series of secondary injuries. The main method to improve hemiplegic limb movement is exercise therapy, but there are still many patients with disabilities after rehabilitation treatment. As one of the non-pharmacological therapies for stroke, acupuncture has been recognized to improve motor function in patients. Here,we propose a new method, anterior sciatic nerve acupuncture, which can stimulate both the femoral nerve and the sciatic nerve. We designed this study to determine the effect of this method on lower limb motor function.Sixty participants recruited with hemiplegia after cerebral infarction will be randomly assigned to the test group or control group in a 1:1 ratio. The control group will receive Xingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture, and the test group will receive anterior sciatic nerve acupuncture on this basis. All participants will get acupuncture treatment once a day,6 times a week for 2 weeks. The primary outcome is Fugl-Meyer Assessment of Lower Extremity and the secondary outcomes are Modified Ashworth Scale and Modified Barthel Index.Data will be collected before treatment,1week after treatment, and 2 weeks after treatment, and then statistical analysis will be performed. This study can preliminarily verify the effect of anterior sciatic nerve acupuncture on improving lower limb motor function in patients with cerebral infarction, which may provide an alternative approach for clinical treatment of hemiplegia.LI Menghan WANG Yu RAN Dawei YANG Xinming DENG Shizhe SHI Lei MENG Zhihong 2024Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2024,44,1:0
Moxibustion for COVID-19:a systematic scoping review显示文摘Objective:Moxibustion has been widely used in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.However,there is no systematic review of current topics and clinical findings on moxibustion for COVID-19.We conducted this scoping review to systematically summarize and analyze the themes and findings of published articles, and to provide an overview of current knowledge and practice of moxibustion for COVID-19.Methods:PubMed,Embase,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,SinoMed,Wan Fang Data, and VIP databases were searched from inception until April 2022.The relevant data were presented through bar graphs, structured tables, and figures along with descriptive statistics and analysis. This scoping review was conducted based on the PRISMA-ScR Checklist. Results:A total of 76 articles were reviewed:47 reviews,19 clinical research studies, seven systematic reviews(all were protocols),and three guidelines. All the studies were conducted by Chinese researchers and published from January 1,2020 to March 14,2022.The feasibility of moxibustion in the prevention and treatment of mild or moderate COVID-19 is based on the consensus of therapeutic mechanisms and effectiveness. The most adopted approach was the suspended and gentle moxibustion, and the most frequently applied or recommended acupoints were found to be ST36,CV8,CV6,CV4,CV12,GV14,BL13,LI4,ST25,and LR3.Conclusions:As a convenient and safe traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)therapy with its specific feature, moxibustion has been significantly effective at ameliorating mild or moderate symptoms among COVID-19 patients.Further large-scale,welldesigned research and international cooperation are still warranted in clinical evaluations of moxibustion.Meng Xia Bo Pang Shaowei Yi Xinjue Shan Shizhe Deng Yinan Qin Tao Jiang Hai Lu 2022Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine2022,2,3:0
