1Image segmentation of overlapping leaves based on Chan–Vese model and Sobel operator显示文摘To improve the segmentation precision of overlapping crop leaves,this paper presents an effective image segmentation method based on the Chan–Vese model and Sobel operator.The approach consists of three stages.First,a feature that identifies hues with relatively high levels of green is used to extract the region of leaves and remove the background.Second,the Chan–Vese model and improved Sobel operator are implemented to extract the leaf contours and detect the edges,respectively.Third,a target leaf with a complex background and overlapping is extracted by combining the results obtained by the Chan–Vese model and Sobel operator.To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm,a segmentation experiment was performed on 30 images of cucumber leaf.The mean error rate of the proposed method is 0.0428,which is a decrease of 6.54%compared with the mean error rate of the level set method.Experimental results show that the proposed method can accurately extract the target leaf from cucumber leaf images with complex backgrounds and overlapping regions.Zhibin Wang Kaiyi Wang Feng Yang Shouhui Pan Yanyun Han 2018Information Processing in Agriculture2018,5,1:7
2New insights into the life history of Monochamus saltuarius(Cerambycidae:Coleoptera)can enhance surveillance strategies for pine wilt disease显示文摘Pine wilt disease was first discovered in Dongtang town,Liaoning Province,China,in 2017.Monochamus saltuarius Gebler is a new vector of pinewood nematode and the only known vector in Liaoning Province.The biology of this pest has not been reported thus far;therefore,it is necessary to study its life history.During 2018 and 2019,we collected 138 and 491 adult M.saltuarius beetles,respectively,to analyze their eclosion from larva to adult stage.In mid-March,overwintering larvae began to feed(on xylem)and seek nutrition in preparation for pupation and eclosion.The adults began to appear in mid-April,and the population reached its peak in late May.The life span of the adults was 28-76 days.After approximately 1 week of supplemental nutrition(feeding on twigs),adults began to mate and lay eggs.The egg stage of M.saltuarius lasted 4-8 days.The larvae in Dongtang town have 4 instars and overwinter in tunnels as 3rd-4th instars.The 1st-instar stage lasted 3-9 days,the 2nd-instar stage lasted 11-23 days,the 3rd-instar stage lasted 30-130 days,and the 4th-instar stage lasted 44-180 days.The pupal stage lasted 7-12 days,and the life span of the adults was 28-76 days.In this study we systematically monitored the life history of M.saltuarius for the first time.Our objective was to lay a foundation for improving control of this pinewood nematode vector.Min Li Yun Dai Yang Wang Lichao Wang Shouhui Sun Fengmao Chen 2021Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,6:2

4Au@Ag-labeled SERS lateral flow assay for highly sensitive detection of allergens in milk显示文摘Casein andα-lactalbumin(α-LA)are the main allergens in cow's milk,which can affect the skin,respiratory system,and gastrointestinal tract,even cause anaphylactic shock.Developing a rapid and sensitive detection method of casein andα-LA is still pursued.Herein,a surface-enhanced Raman scattering based lateral flow assay(SERS-LFA)method for rapid and highly sensitive detection of milk allergens in food was established for effectively preventing allergic symptoms.Gold@silver nanoparticles(Au@Ag NPs)were synthesized as SERS active substrate to prepare the antibody-modified SERS Probe and SERS-LFA strips toward casein andα-LA were assembled according to the sandwich mode.The detection results were calculated according to colorimetric and Raman signal.The introduction of SRES signal significantly increased the sensitivity of detection with the limit of detection(LOD)of 0.19 ng/mL and 1.74 pg/mL,and exhibited an excellent linear relationship within the range of 0.55-791.50 ng/mL and 0.1 pg/mL-100.0 ng/mL for casein andα-LA,respectively.Furthermore,SERS-LFA strips was highly specific with the recovery rates for corresponding80.36%-105.12%and 85.73%-118.22%for casein andα-LA,respectively.Therefore,the SERS-LFA could be in great potential to develop a unique allergen detection method.Jing Li Jia Xu Yi Pan Yongzhi Zhu Yuanfeng Wang Shouhui Chen Xinlin Wei 2023Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,3:1

11Measurement of aerosol effective density by single particle mass spectrometry显示文摘Single particle mass spectrometry has been widely used to determine the size and chemical compositions of atmospheric aerosols; however, it is still rarely used for the microphysical properties measurement. In this study, two methods were developed for determining aerosol effective density by a single particle aerosol mass spectrometer(SPAMS). Method I retrieved effective density through comparison between measured light scattering intensities and Mie theoretical modelled partial scattering cross section. Method II coupled a differential mobility analyzer(DMA) with SPAMS to simultaneously determine the electric mobility and vacuum aerodynamic diameter, and thus the effective density. Polystyrene latex spheres, ammonium sulfate and sodium nitrate were tested by these methods to help validate their effectiveness for determining the aerosol effective density. 14Changes of cortical bone pores structure and their effects on mechanical properties in tail-suspended rats显示文摘Cortical bone is the main mechanical bearing structure of bone,and the mechanical properties of materials are not only related to bone mineral density,but also largely depend on its pores microstructure which affected by blood vessels.However,the change of pores structure in cortical bone under microgravity was still unclear.In this study,in order to clear the changes of pore structure with cortical vascular pores and its effect on bone mechanical properties,rat tail-suspension was used to simulate microgravity and the changes of the microstructure in rat tibia cortices were investigated by high-resolution micro-CT(3μm)while the bone mechanical properties were measured via three point bending test.The results showed the bone mineral density of cortical bone didn't change in tail-suspended rats.However,the pore structure of cortical bone in tail-suspended rats changed significantly,the proportion of pores greater than 15μm(cortical vascular pores)increased while that less than 15μm decreased.The mechanical properties of bone(such as maximum load and maximum stress)in tail-suspended rats deteriorated.And the volume ratio of pore vessels(vessel volume/tissue volume)was negatively correlated with the mechanical properties.In conclusion,the increase of cortical vascular pores in rats caused by the simulated microgravity contributes to the decrease of mechanical properties.Shouhui Wang Xiao Yang Zhuang Han Xintong Wu Yu-Bo Fan Lian-Wen Sun 2022Medicine in Novel Technology and Devices2022,,4:0
15Effect of long-term cyclic compression loading on the structural evolution of trabecular bone显示文摘Dynamic remodeling of bone tissue is mediated by the synergistic effects of osteoblast-driven bone formation and Osteoclast-dominated bone resorption.However,how bone cells perceive the mechanical stimuli and regulate bone remodeling have not been fully understood.This study aims to evaluate the effect of cyclic compression loading on trabecular microstructure for 42 days and identify the relationship between the evolution of trabecular microstructure and cell distribution.The eighth caudal vertebrae of rats were subjected to long-term cyclic compression loading with different frequencies.The compression displacement is 1 mm.In vivo micro-computed tomography was performed at 0,14,28 and 42 days to determine the structural parameters.The bone volume fraction(BV/TV)in the 1 Hz cyclic compression loading group was significantly higher than that in the control and 10 Hz groups,whereas the trabecular separation(Tb.Sp)was significantly lower.The 10 Hz cyclic compression group had the lowest BV/TV and highest Tb.Sp.After 14 days of loading,the BV/TV values of 1 Hz group were 29.62%and 41.6%higher than those of the control and 10 Hz groups,respectively.Conversely,the Tb.Sp of 1 Hz group was approximately 12.33%and 16.52%lower than that of the control and 10 Hz group,respectively.More bone formation and less bone resorption were observed in the 1 Hz group than the control group.In addition,more osteoblasts were attached to the area of bone formation,while more osteoclasts were located in the area of bone resorption.These findings may provide a basis for further understanding mechanical stimulation-regulated bone remodeling.Yan Gao Feixiang Lu Shouhui Wang Lianwen Sun Huijie Leng Bo Huo 2021Medicine in Novel Technology and Devices2021,,4:0
16Dynamic ensemble selection of convolutional neural networks and its application in flower classification显示文摘In recent years,convolutional neural networks(CNNs)have achieved great success in image classification.However,CNN models usually have complex network structures that tend to cause some related problems,such as redundancy of network parameters,low training efficiency,overfitting,and weak generalization ability.To solve these problems and improve the accuracy of flower classification,the advantages of CNNs were combined with those of ensemble learning and a method was developed for the dynamic ensemble selection of CNNs.First,MobileNet models pre-trained on a public dataset were transferred to flower datasets to train thirteen different MobileNet classifiers,and a resampling strategy was used to enhance the diversity of individual models.Second,the thirteen classifiers were sorted by a classifier sorting algorithm,before ensemble selection,to avoid an exhaustive search.Finally,with the credibility of recognition results,a classifier subset was dynamically selected and integrated to identify the flower species from their images.To verify the effectiveness,the proposed method was used to classify the images of five flower species.The accuracy of the proposed method was 95.50%,an improvement of 1.62%,3.94%,22.04%,13.77%,and 0.44%,over those of MobileNet,Inception-v1,ResNet-50,Inception-ResNet-v2,and the linear ensemble method,respectively.In addition,the performance of the proposed method was compared with five other methods for flower classification.The experimental results demonstrated the accuracy and robustness of the proposed method.Zhibin Wang Kaiyi Wang Xiaofeng Wang Shouhui Pan Xiaojun Qiao 2022International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,1:0
17High-performance supercapacitor based on ultralight and elastic three-dimensional carbon foam/reduced graphene/polyaniline nanocomposites显示文摘A novel supercapacitor based on ultralight and elastic three-dimensional (3D) porous melamine foam (MF)-derived macroporous carbon (3DPMFDMC)/reduced graphene oxide (rGO)/polyaniline (PANI) nanocomposites (denoted as 3DPMFDMC/rGO/PANI) were fabricated. By high temperature carboniza-tion, the commercial MF soaked in GO solution was prepared into ultralight and elastic 3DPMFDMC, the rGO were uniformly distributed into 3DPMFDMC to obtain 3DPMFDMC/rGO, and finally PANI was grown on the 3DPMFDMC/rGO by using in situ chemical oxidation polymerization method. The obtained 3DPMFDMC/rGO/PANI nanocomposites were characterized by SEM, FT-IR and Raman. The results showed the uniform distribution of rGO connected the broken fibers of 3DPMFDMC produced in the high temperature carbonization to improve the electrical conductivity and also enlarged the specific surface area of nanocomposites greatly. Lots of PANI were vertically arrayed on the surface of 3DPMFDMC/rGO. 3DPMFDMC/rGO/PANI exhibited a rapid electron/mass transport. Owing to its special structures and nanocomposites, the supercapacitor showed good electrical performance with a specific capacitance of 1870 F/g at the current density of 1 A/g. 18Image enhancement for crop trait information acquisition system显示文摘Collecting images using portable devices is an effective and convenient method for acquiring crop trait information.Because of uncertain environmental conditions in the field,enhancement is necessary to improve the visual quality of images.With this aim,here we propose an adaptive image enhancement method based on guided filtering.Our method automatically calculates the enhancement weights of the detail in an image according to the distribution characteristics of the illumination intensity of a crop image,so as to adaptively adjust the contrast of the image.To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm,we performed enhancement experiments on 50 images of four kinds of cucumber leaf tissues,namely,leaves infected with target spot,powdery mildew,and downy mildew,and healthy leaves.The results showed that our proposed method substantially improved the visual quality of the images.Moreover,the mean ratios of the contrast to color difference obtained using the proposed method were higher than the mean ratios obtained using five conventional enhancement methods.We consider the proposed method for image enhancement will be a valuable addition to the crop trait information acquisition system(http://gffzz29a4dcd410a5431ah9v695n0005ub6cf0.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/).Zhibin Wang Kaiyi Wang Feng Yang Shouhui Pan Yanyun Han Xiangyu Zhao 2018Information Processing in Agriculture2018,5,4:0
