1Anatomical variation of infra-pyloric artery origination: A prospective multicenter observational study (IPA-Origin)显示文摘Objective: Infra-pyloric artery(IPA) is an important anatomical landmark in treatment of gastric cancer and is the key vessel for pylorus-preserving gastrectomy and subgroup of infra-pyloric lymph nodes. However, its anatomical variation is not thoroughly understood. Our study aimed to clarify the origination of the IPA.Methods: We did this prospective, multicenter, open-label, observational study at gastric surgery departments of34 hospitals in China. Gastric cancer patients aged 18 years or older and scheduled to undergo elective total or distal gastrectomy were assigned. During the surgery, IPA dissecting and exposing the origination point with photographs or video clips were required. The primary outcome was the origination of the IPA. Analysis of variance, χ~2 tests and Fisher's tests were used to analyze the differences between groups. The study is registered at Clinicaltrials.gov(No. NCT03071237).Results: Between May 8 and July 31, 2017, 429 patients were assigned for the study, and 419(97.7%) patients had the IPA dissected and recorded through photograph or video and were included in the primary outcome analysis. The median age was 62 years old, and 73.7% were male. Among the patients, 78.5% received laparoscopic surgery. Single IPA origination was identified in 398(95.0%) patients, including gastroduodenal artery(GDA) in154(36.8%) patients, anterior superior pancreaticoduodenal artery(ASPDA) in 130(31.0%) patients, and right gastroepiploic artery(RGEA) in 114(27.2%) patients. Fifteen(3.6%) patients were identified with multiple IPA and 6(1.4%) patients were identified as IPA absence. The differences in the distribution of surgical approach(P=0.003) and geographic area(P=0.030) were statistically significant. 2Influencing factors and control measures of excavation on adjacent bridge foundation based on analytic hierarchy process and finite element method显示文摘Many uncertain factors in the excavation process may lead to excessive lateral displacement or overlimited internal force of the piles,as well as inordinate settlement of soil surrounding the existing bridge foundation.Safety control is pivotal to ensuring the safety of adjacent structures.In this paper,an innovative method is proposed that combines an analytic hierarchy process(AHP)with a finite element method(FEM)to reveal the potential impact risk of uncertain factors on the surrounding environment.The AHP was adopted to determine key influencing factors based on the weight of each influencing factor.The FEM was used to quantify the impact of the key influencing factors on the surrounding environment.In terms of the AHP,the index system of uncertain factors was established based on an engineering investigation.A matrix comparing the lower index layer to the upper index layer,and the weight of each influencing factor,were calculated.It was found that the excavation depth and the distance between the foundation pit and the bridge foundation were fundamental factors.For the FEM,the FE baseline model was calibrated based on the case of no bridge surrounding the foundation pit.The consistency between the monitoring data and the numerical simulation data for a ground settlement was analyzed.FE simulations were then conducted to quantitatively analyze the degree of influence of the key influencing factors on the bridge foundation.Furthermore,the lateral displacement of the bridge pile foundation,the internal force of the piles,and the settlement of the soil surrounding the pile foundation were emphatically analyzed.The most hazardous construction condition was also determined.Finally,two safety control measures for increasing the numbers of support levels and the rooted depths of the enclosure structure were suggested.A novel method for combining AHP with FEM can be used to determine the key influencing aspects among many uncertain factors during a construction,which can provide some beneficial references for engineering design and construction.Shuangxi FENG Huayang LEI Yongfeng WAN Haiyan JIN Jun HAN 2021Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2021,15,2:5

4Analysis of ground deformation development and settlement prediction by air-boosted vacuum preloading显示文摘Vacuum preloading has been widely used to improve soft soils in coastal areas of China.An increasing amount of evidence from field operations has shown that conventional vacuum preloading is prone to clogging in prefabricated vertical drains(PVDs)and demands a large volume of sand fills.In recent years,air-boosted vacuum preloading has been developed to overcome these limitations;however,this method still requires more data to verify its performance.In this study,a field test for air-boosted vacuum preloading was conducted,and a large-strain two-dimensional(2D)finite element(FE)model was developed and validated against the field test data.Then,a series of FE parametric analyses was performed to assess key factors,i.e.the air injection pressure,the injection spacing,and the characteristics of cyclic injection,which affect the performance of the air-boosted vacuum preloading.The results showed that the ground settlement and lateral displacement of the soils increased due to an increase in the injection pressure,a decrease in the injection spacing,or increases in the number and duration of the injection cycles.Based on the parametric analyses,an empirical formula for ground settlement prediction was proposed and compared with a case history reported in the literature,showing good agreement.Shuangxi Feng Huayang Lei Cheng Lin 2022Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2022,14,1:1

8Atomic insights into heterogeneous nucleation and growth kinetics of Al on TiB_(2) particles in undercooled Al-5Ti-1B melt显示文摘Titanium diboride(TiB_(2))is an effective grain refiner of Al alloys in the industry that facilitates casting processes by forming uniformly refined microstructures.Although our understanding of the underlying refinement mechanisms has advanced,the atomic kinetics of heterogeneous nucleation of Al on TiB2 remains unknown.Here,we report atomic-scale observations of the heterogeneous nucleation and growth kinetics of Al on self-formed TiB_(2) particles by in situ heating of undercooled Al-5Ti-1B films.We demonstrate that an ordered Al monolayer forms on the Ti-terminated{0001}TiB_(2) surface;then,the surrounding Al atoms are initiated to form an island-shaped Al nucleus with face-centered cubic{111}stacking without the assistance of a Ti-rich buffer layer.The interfacial lattice mismatch between{111}Al and{0001}TiB_(2) causes remarkable out-of-plane strain that decreases gradually with Al nucleus layers increasing to 6 atomic layers.The elastic strain energy originating from this interfacial strain increases the free energy of the Al/TiB2 heterostructure,hence impeding the rapid growth of the Al nucleus.We found that TiB2 particles stabilize the Al nuclei rather than activating their free growth into grains when the experimental undercoolingΔT is lower than the onset undercoolingΔT fg in Greer's free growth model.Our findings provide an atomic-scale physical image of the heterogeneous nucleation and growth mechanisms of Al with inoculator participation and elucidate the strain-dependent growth kinetics of Al nuclei.Jing Feng Yanfeng Han Xiaocang Han Xiaodong Wang Shuangxi Song Baode Sun Mingwei Chen Pan Liu 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,25:0
