| 1 | Predicting geological hazards during tunnel construction显示文摘The complicated geological conditions and geological hazards are challenging problems during tunnel construction,which will cause great losses of life and property.Therefore,reliable prediction of geological defective features,such as faults,karst caves and groundwater,has important practical significances and theoretical values.In this paper,we presented the criteria for detecting typical geological anomalies using the tunnel seismic prediction(TSP) method.The ground penetrating radar(GPR) signal response to water-bearing structures was used for theoretical derivations.And the 3D tomography of the transient electromagnetic method(TEM) was used to develop an equivalent conductance method.Based on the improvement of a single prediction technique,we developed a technical system for reliable prediction of geological defective features by analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of all prediction methods.The procedure of the application of this system was introduced in detail.For prediction,the selection of prediction methods is an important and challenging work.The analytic hierarchy process(AHP) was developed for prediction optimization.We applied the newly developed prediction system to several important projects in China,including Hurongxi highway,Jinping II hydropower station,and Kiaochow Bay subsea tunnel.The case studies show that the geological defective features can be successfully detected with good precision and efficiency,and the prediction system is proved to be an effective means to minimize the risks of geological hazards during tunnel construction. | Shucai Li Shuchen Li Qingsong Zhang Yiguo Xue Bin Liu Maoxin Su Zhechao Wang Shugang Wang | 2010 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2010,2,3: | 25 |
| 2 | Solubility of RE_2O_3(RE=La and Nd) in light rare earth fluoride molten salts显示文摘The chemical reaction and dissolution processes of RE_2 O_3 in REF_3-LiF(RE = La and Nd) molten salts were studied by X-ray diffraction, differential thermal analysis and chemical analysis. Firstly, RE_2 O_3 disperses in molten salts and reacts with REF_3 and LiF, which lead to the generation of a new phase REOF, resulting in the dissociation or formation of complex ions by part of REOF, and the sedimentation of excessive REOF at the bottom. The RE contents in molten salts were used to determine the solubility of RE_2 O_3. The results show that with 20 mol%-40 mol% of REF_3, the solubility ranges from 1.79 to 3.05 g RE_2 O_3 per100 g electrolyte and the corresponding mole concentration is 0.33%-0.87%. RE_2 O_3 solubility increases with increasing temperature and REF_3 concentration. The natural logarithm of the RE_2 O_3 solubility is plotted against 1/T and can be interpreted by linear relationship. | 6 | A first-principles study of helium diffusion in quartz and coesite under high pressure up to 12GPa显示文摘Helium diffusion in mantle minerals is crucial for understanding mantle structure and the dynamic processes of Earth's degassing.In this paper,we report helium incorporation and the mechanism of its diffusion in perfect crystals of quartz and coesite.The diffusion pathways,activation energies(Ea),and frequency factors of helium under ambient and high pressure conditions were calculated using Density Functional Theory(DFT)and the climbing image nudged elastic band(CI-NEB)method.The calculated diffusive coefficients of He in the quartz in different orientations are:D[100]=1.24×10^(−6)exp.(−26.83 kJ/mol/RT)m^(2)/s D[010]=1.11×10^(−6)exp.(−31.60 kJ/mol/RT)m^(2)/s.and in the coesite:D[100]=3.00×10^(−7)exp.(−33.79 kJ/mol/RT)m^(2)/s D[001]=2.21×10^(−6)exp.(−18.33 kJ/mol/RT)m^(2)/s.The calculated results indicate that diffusivity of helium is anisotropic in both quartz and coesite and that the degree of anisotropy is much more pronounced in coesite.Helium diffusion behavior in coesite under high pressures was investigated.The activation energies increased with pressure:Ea[100]increased from 33.79 kJ/mol to 58.36 kJ/mol,and Ea[001]increased from 18.33 kJ/mol to 48.87 kJ/mol as pressure increased from0 GPa to 12 GPa.Our calculations showed that helium is not be quantitatively retained in silica at typical surface temperatures on Earth,which is consistent with the findings from previous studies.These results have implications for discussion of the Earth's mantle evolution and for recognition thermal histories of ultra-high pressure(UHP)metamorphic terranes. | Hong Liu Lingling Wang Shuchen Li Yaochun Yang Hua Tian Fengxia Sun Chaowen Xu Lei Liu Yi Li Yueju Cui Ying Li Jijun Zhao | 2021 | Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,2: | 1 |
| 7 | Electrical conductivity of REF3-LiF(RE=La and Nd) molten salts显示文摘The electrical conductivity of REF3-LiF(RE=La and Nd) molten salts(xREF3=5 mol%-40 mol%) was systematically measured over the temperature range from 1223 to 1423 K by using continuously varying cell constant(CVCC) method.Electrical conductivity values of LaF3-LiF and NdF3-LiF molten salts within the studied ranges are 4.11-9.39 and 3.62-9.51 S/cm,respectively.The composition and temperature dependences of electrical conductivity and the factor of RE2 O3 on electrical conductivity were investigated.The electrical conductivity nonlinearly decreases with the increasing mole percent of REF3 for the changing of structural ion in molten salts.A good linear relationship between the natural logarithm of electrical conductivity(lnκ) and the reciprocal of the absolute temperature(T-1) can be interpreted by the trend that electrical conductivity linearly increases with increasing temperature.Although it is an important factor of RE2 O3 on electrical conductivity,the influence of RE2 O3 on conductivity is small for the very limited solubility of RE2 O3 in REF3-LiF molten salts.The results of this work supplement the present electrical conductivity data of rare earth fluoride electrolyte. | Xiaoping Zhu Shuchen Sun Ting Sun Chuan Liu Ganfeng Tu Jiayue Zhang | 2020 | Journal of Rare Earths2020,38,6: | 1 |
| 8 | Estimates of strength and cracking behaviors of pre-flawed granite specimens treated by chemical corrosion under triaxial compression tests显示文摘Four types of granite specimens were prepared and treated by chemical corrosion for 5 and 30 days,which were then used to carry out triaxial compression tests under different confining pressuresσ_(3).Type A is the intact sample with no preexisting flaws.Types B and C are the samples containing two relatively low-dip flaws and two relatively high-dip flaws,respectively.Type D is the sample including both relatively low-dip and relatively high-dip flaws.The influences of pH value of chemical solutions,flaw distribution,corrosion time andσ_(3) on triaxial stress-strain curves and ultimate failure modes are analyzed and discussed.The results show that the pH value of the chemical solution,corrosion time and the arrangement of preexisting flaws play crucial roles in the cracking behaviors of granite specimens.Type A specimens have the largest peak axial deviatoric stress,followed by Type C,Type D,and Type B specimens,respectively.It is because the decrease in the inclination of preexisting flaws induces the weakening effect due to the decrease in the shadow area along the compaction direction.Under aσ_(3) of 5 MPa,the peak axial deviatoric stress drops by approximately 40.89%,29.08%,4.08%,and 23.53%for pH=2,4,7,and 12,respectively.For intact granite(Type A)specimens,the ultimate failure mode displays a typical shear mode.The connection of two secondary cracks initiated at the tips of preexisting cracks is always the ultimate failure and crack coalescence mode for Type B specimens.The ultimate failure and crack coalescence mode of Types C and D specimens are significantly affected by pH value of the chemical solution,corrosion time andσ_(3),which is different from those of Types A and B specimens due to the differences in flow distributions. | Zhicong LI Richeng LIU Shuchen LI Hongwen JING Xiaozhao LI Liyuan YU | 2022 | Frontiers of Earth Science2022,16,2: | 1 |

| 10 | Tensile and Fracture Behavior of DZ68 Ni-base Superalloy显示文摘The tensile and fracture behavior of DZ68 directionally solidified Ni-base superalloy was studied in the temperature range of room temperature (RT) to 1000°C. The fracture mode was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results show the tensile strength and yield strength of DZ68 alloy increase slightly with increasing temperature, so that at 760°C its reach maxima value: 1214 and 1019 MPa, respectively. When the experimental temperature is higher than 760°C, the tensile and yield strengths decrease evidently and the ductility increases remarkably. The fractograph of fracture surface for the tensile specimen at room temperature shows a dimple-ductile fracture mode. The fractograph from 760 to 850°C shows a slide fracture mode. | 13 | Pre-expanded Muscle-sparing Latissimus Dorsi Flaps for Reconstruction of Severe Scar Contractures on the Anterior Chest显示文摘Objective To investigate the utility of pre-expanded muscle-sparing latissimus dorsi flaps in the reconstruction of deformities secondary to severe scar contractures on the anterior chest.Methods The function of the latissimus dorsi was preserved with blood supply from the main or lateral branch of the thoracodorsal artery.The entire treatment period was divided into two stages,during which segmental latissimus dorsi flaps were pre-expanded in stage I and anterior chest scar deformities were reconstructed in stage II.During stage I,the musculocutaneous perforators arising from the lateral branch of the thoracodorsal artery were determined by ultrasound preoperatively;the flap design included the anterior segment of the latissimus dorsi supplied by the musculocutaneous perforators from the lateral branch;and a tissue expander was placed following flap dissection and then infused with saline intermittently for 4–6 months.In stage II,the chest scars were excised,and breast tissues were repositioned;the continuity of the medial branch of the thoracodorsal nerve to the muscle was preserved when reconstruction was performed using the segmental latissimus dorsi flaps supplied by the main or lateral branch of the thoracodorsal artery.Results From October 2010 to October 2019,21 patients(on 24 sides)underwent reconstructive procedures for extensive scar contractures on the anterior chest.All flaps survived,and their donor sites were sutured directly.During a follow-up of 3 months to 8 years,the flaps became soft and exhibited color similar to that of the adjacent tissues.The limited neck and shoulder movements improved,and postoperatively,all female patients were satisfied with the shape of their breasts.Additionally,neither apparent weakening on the adduction,internal rotation,or extension strength of the shoulder joint on the affected side nor marked depression deformity in the back was observed.Conclusion Pre-expanded muscle-sparing latissimus dorsi flaps with blood supply from the main or lateral branch of the thoracodorsal artery proved to be a desirable option for the reconstruction of extensive scar contractures on the anterior chest. | Zhichao WANG Dujuan LIU Shuchen GU Baoxiang TIAN Tao ZAN Bin GU | 2020 | Chinese Journal Of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery2020,2,2: | 0 |
| 14 | WDR74 functions as a novel coactivator in TGF-β signaling显示文摘Smads are critical intracellular signal transducers for transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β) in mammalian cells. In this study, we have identified WD repeat-containing protein 74(WDR74) as a novel transcriptional coactivator for Smads in the canonical TGF-β signaling pathway. Through direct interactions with Smad proteins, WDR74 enhances TGF-β-mediated phosphorylation and nuclear accumulation of Smad2 and Smad3. Consequently, WDR74 enables stronger transcriptional responses and more robust TGF-β-induced physiological responses. | 15 | Nonlinear Flow Properties of Newtonian Fluids through Rough Crossed Fractures显示文摘The nonlinear flow properties of Newtonian fluids through crossed fractures are estimated by considering the influences of length,aperture,and surface roughness of fractures.A total of 252 computational runs are performed by creating 36 computational domains,in which the Navier-Stokes equations are solved.The results show that the nonlinear relationship between flow rate and hydraulic gradient follows Forchheimer’s law–based equation.When the hydraulic gradient is small(i.e.,10^(−6)),the streamlines are parallel to the fracture walls,indicating a linear streamline distribution.When the hydraulic gradient is large(i.e.,10^(0)),the streamlines are disturbed by a certain number of eddies,indicating a nonlinear streamline distribution.The patterns of eddy distributions depend on the length,aperture,and surface roughness of fractures.With the increment of hydraulic gradient from 10^(−6) to 10^(0),the ratio of flow rate to hydraulic gradient holds constants and then decreases slightly and finally decreases robustly.The fluid flow experiences a linear flow regime,a weakly nonlinear regime,and a strongly nonlinear regime,respectively.The critical hydraulic gradient ranges from 3.27×10^(−5) to 5.82×10^(−2) when fracture length=20–100mmandmechanical aperture=1–5mm.The joint roughness coefficient plays a negligible role in the variations in critical hydraulic gradient compared with fracture length and/or mechanical aperture.The critical hydraulic gradient decreases with increasing mechanical aperture,following power-law relationships.The parameters in the functions are associated with fracture length. | Zhenguo Liu Shuchen Li Richeng Liu Changzhou Zheng | 2023 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2023,,8: | 0 |
| 16 | Imatinib blocks tyrosine phosphorylation of Smad4 and restores TGF-β growth-suppressive signaling in BCR-ABL1-positive leukemia显示文摘Loss of TGF-β-mediated growth suppression is a major contributor to the development of cancers,best exemplified by loss-offunction mutations in genes encoding components of the TGF-βsignaling pathway in colorectal and pancreatic cancers.Alternatively,gain-of-function oncogene mutations can also disrupt antiproliferative TGF-βsignaling.However,the molecular mechanisms underlying oncogene-induced modulation of TGF-βsignaling have not been extensively investigated.Here,we show that the oncogenic BCR-ABL1 of chronic myelogenous leukemia(CML)and the cellular ABL1 tyrosine kinases phosphorylate and inactivate Smad4 to block antiproliferative TGF-βsignaling.Mechanistically,phosphorylation of Smad4 at Tyr195,Tyr301,and Tyr322 in the linker region interferes with its binding to the transcription co-activator p300/CBP,thereby blocking the ability of Smad4 to activate the expression of cyclin-dependent kinase(CDK)inhibitors and induce cell cycle arrest.In contrast,the inhibition of BCR-ABL1 kinase with Imatinib prevented Smad4 tyrosine phosphorylation and re-sensitized CML cells to TGF-β-induced antiproliferative and pro-apoptotic responses.Furthermore,expression of phosphorylation-site-mutated Y195F/Y301F/Y322F mutant of Smad4 in Smad4-null CML cells enhanced antiproliferative responses to TGF-β,whereas the phosphorylation-mimicking Y195E/Y301E/Y322E mutant interfered with TGF-βsignaling and enhanced the in vivo growth of CML cells.These findings demonstrate the direct role of BCR-ABL1 tyrosine kinase in suppressing TGF-βsignaling in CML and explain how Imatinib-targeted therapy restored beneficial TGF-βanti-growth responses. | Lijing Wang Shuchen Gu Fenfang Chen Yi Yu Jin Cao Xinran Li Chun Gao Yanzhen Chen Shuchong Yuan Xia Liu Jun Qin Bin Zhao Pinglong Xu Tingbo Liang Hongyan Tong Xia Lin Xin-Hua Feng | 2023 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,4: | 0 |
