| 1 | PTEN and Ki67 expression is associated with clinicopathologic features of non-small cell lung cancer显示文摘Phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome 10(PTEN) and the proliferating antigen Ki67 have been widely studied in several tumors.However,their role as indicator in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)remains unknown.Here,we investigated the expression of PTEN and Ki67 in NSCLC tissues and paired normal lung tissues to identify whether these proteins are associated with lung cancer development and survival.Immunohistochemistry for PTEN and Ki67 was performed on 67 lung cancer tissues and 41 paired adjacent normal lung tissues to detect the expression of these two proteins.The expression of PTEN in NSCLC tissues(32.8%) was significantly lower than that in normal tissues(82.9%,P < 0.05).In contrast,the expression of Ki67 in NSCLC tissues(76.1%) was significantly higher than that in normal tissues(27.3%,P < 0.05).Expression of both PTEN and Ki67 were strongly associated with tumor histology,clinical stage,lymph node metastasis,differentiation and4-year postoperative survival rate(P < 0.05).However,PTEN expression was negatively correlated with Ki67 expression(r =-0.279,P < 0.05).In conclusion,low PTEN expression and Ki67 overexpression are associated with malignant invasion and lymph node metastasis of NSCLC.These proteins may serve as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers of NSCLC. | Yong Ji Mingfeng Zheng Shugao Ye Jingyu Chen Yijiang Chen | 2014 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2014,28,6: | 16 |
| 2 | Fingerprinting hydrothermal fluids in porphyry Cu deposits using K and Mg isotopes显示文摘In this study, we performed an integrated investigation of K and Mg isotopes in hydrothermally altered rocks from the giant Dexing porphyry Cu deposit in China. Both the altered porphyry intrusion and the surrounding wall rocks exhibit large variations in K and Mg isotope compositions, with δ41K values ranging between-1.02‰ and 0.38‰, and δ26Mg values ranging between-0.49‰ and 0.32‰. The δ41K and δ26Mg values of the majority of altered samples are higher than the isotopic baseline values for upper continental crust. We attribute the general increase in δ41 K and δ26Mg in altered rocks to hydrothermal alteration,which caused preferential incorporation of heavy K and Mg isotopes in alteration products, particularly phyllosilicates. However,a few altered samples show anomalously low δ41K and δ26Mg values. The δ41K and δ26Mg values do not correlate with K and Mg concentrations, or mineralogy of altered samples. The variable K-Mg isotope data likely reflect fluids of different physicalchemical properties, or different isotopic compositions. Based on the combined K-Mg isotope data, at least three groups of hydrothermal fluids are distinguished from the Dexing porphyry deposit. | 3 | Relationships between Artemisia ordosica communities and environmental factors following sand-dune stabilization in the Mu Us desert,northwest China显示文摘Artemisia ordosica is an excellent sand-fixing shrub for sand stabilization in northwestern China. Sand dune stabilization, a critically important process, leads changes in abiotic factors, such as soil structure and nutrient contents. However, the effects of factors on an A.ordosica community following sand stabilization remain unclear. In this study, we used canonical correspondence analysis(CCA) to examine the relationships between A.ordosica communities and environmental factors at three habitats: semi-fixed dune(SF), fixed dune with low-coverage biological soil crust(F), and fixed dune with highcoverage biological soil crust(FC) in Mu Us desert. The mean height and coverage of plants increased with sand stabilization, while species diversity and richness increased initially and then reduced significantly. Correlation analysis and CCA revealed that slope, soil organic carbon, and nutrient contents, proportion of fine soil particles, soil moisture, and thickness of biological soil crust were allhighly correlated with vegetation characteristics. These environmental factors could explain 40.42 % of the vegetation–environment relationships at the three habitats. The distribution of plant species was positively related to soil moisture in the SF dune. Soil moisture, soil nutrient, and fine-particle contents mainly affected plants distribution in the F dune. In the FC dune, distribution of plant species was positively and negatively correlated with the thickness of biological soil crust and soil moisture at a depth0–20 cm, respectively. The dominance value of typical steppe species increased significantly following sand-dune stabilization and relations between species and samples in CCA ordination bi-plots showed that perennial grasses could invade the A. ordosica community on FC, indicating A. ordosica communities had a tendency to change into typical steppe vegetation with the further fixation. We conclude that the significant differentiation not only occurred in community characteristics, but also in the relationships between vegetation and environmental factors among the three stages of dune fixation. | 17 | DEGRADATION DUE TO ENERGY PULSE IN HIGH-ENERGY ZnO VARISTORS显示文摘The degradation phenomena due to the energy pulse in the high-energy ZnO varistors used for deexitation and overvoltage protection of hydroelectric generator are investigated. The energy pulse, obtained by releasing the energy stored in an inductor, can be equivalent to the combination of the DC field components and the energy component. The variations of the characterized voltages, nonlinear coefficients and pre-breakdown V-A characteristics, increase with the number of the applied energy pulse. | 19 | Partial portacaval shunt with H-grafts to treat portal hypertension显示文摘Partial portosystemic shunts have been popularized because of a reported low rate of mortality and morbidity(especially encephalopathy,liver failure and occlusion).The results of partial portacaval shunts[small-diameter expanded polytetrafluoroethylene(ePTFE)H-graft portacaval shunt]were retrospectively reviewed to evaluate the clinical efficacy in the treatment of portal hypertension.Forty-three patients with portal hypertension were treated by small-diameter H-graft of ePTFE portacaval shunt from May 1995 to April 2006.Thirty-three had externally ringed grafts and ten had non-ringed ones.Ten had grafts of 10 mm in diameter and 33 had grafts of 8 mm.The left gastric artery and coronary vein were ligated in all the cases.Six had pericardial devascularization and splenectomy was performed in 42.An average decrease of free portal pressure(FPP)from(33.24 P4.78)cmH2O before shunting and(13.65P5.65)cmH2O after shunting was observed.The portal blood flow was reduced by one-third of that before shunt.Thirty-eight patients survived and no upper gastro-intestinal rebleeding occurred in the follow-up period(50.5 months in average).Two were out of contact.Color Doppler ultrasonography and/or portography revealed the shunts were patent in 38 cases and were occluded in three cases(3/41,7.3%).Encephalopathy developed in five cases(5/41,12.2%).Partial(small-diameter ePTFE H-graft)portacaval shunting can reduce the portal pressure effectively.Majority of the hepatic flow from the portal vein can be maintained adequately.The shunts with reinforced grafts can keep a higher rate of patency.The morbidity of encephalopathy was lower than those with total shunt.The partial portacaval shunt is effective in preventing recurrent variceal bleeding. | XU Geliang HU Hejie LI Jiansheng YANG Shugao CHAI Zhongpei XU Rongnan | 2007 | Frontiers of Medicine2007,1,3: | 0 |
