Mobility in China,2020:a tale of four phases显示文摘2020 was an unprecedented year;with rapid and drastic changes in human mobility due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To understand the variation in commuting patterns among the Chinese population across stable and unstable periods,we used nationwide mobility data from 318 million mobile phone users in China to examine the extreme fluctuations of population movements in 2020,ranging from the Lunar New Year travel season(chunyun),to the exceptional calm of COVID-19 lockdown, and then to the recovery period. We observed that cross-city movements;which increased substantially in chunyun and then dropped sharply during the lockdown, are primarily dependent on travel distance and the socio-economic development of cities.Following the Lunar New Year holiday, national mobility remained low until mid-February,and COVID-19 interventions delayed more than 72.89 million people returning to large cities.Mobility network analysis revealed clusters of highly connected cities, conforming to the social-economic division of urban agglomerations in China. While the mass migration back to large cities was delayed, smaller cities connected more densely to form new clusters.During the recovery period after travel restrictions were lifted, the netflows of over 55%city pairs reversed in direction compared to before the lockdown. These findings offer the most comprehensive picture of Chinese mobility at fine resolution across various scenarios in China and are of critical importance for decision making regarding future public-health-emergency response, transportation planning and regional economic development, among others. | Suoyi Tan Shengjie Lai Fan Fang Ziqiang Cao Bin Sai Bing Song Bitao Dai Shuhui Guo Chuchu Liu Mengsi Cai Tong Wang Mengning Wang Jiaxu Li Saran Chen Shuo Qin Jessica R.Floyd Zhidong Cao Jing Tan Xin Sun Tao Zhou Wei Zhang Andrew J.Tatem Petter Holme Xiaohong Chen Xin Lu | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,11: | 3

Dose-dependent regulation of oligodendrocyte specification by β-catenin signaling显示文摘Dear Editor,Although various components of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway have been investigated, there are conflicting reports on the roles of Wnt/β-catenin signaling in oligodendrogenesis and differentiation. For instance,theΔExon3 mutation ofβ-catenin[1-4],which stabilizesβ-catenin by deletion of the phosphorylation site for the destruction complex, signifi cantly inhibits the differentiation of oligodendrocytes, | Shuhui Sun Wei Guo Zunyi Zhang Mengsheng Qiu Zhong-Min Dai | 2015 | Neuroscience Bulletin2015,31,2: | 1
Impairment of Autophagic Flux After Hypobaric Hypoxia Potentiates Oxidative Stress and Cognitive Function Disturbances in Mice显示文摘Acute hypobaric hypoxic brain damage is a potentially fatal high-altitude sickness.Autophagy plays a critical role in ischemic brain injury, but its role in hypo-baric hypoxia(HH)remains unknown. Here we used an HH chamber to demonstrate that acute HH exposure impairs autophagic activity in both the early and late stages of the mouse brain, and is partially responsible for HH-induced oxidative stress, neuronal loss, and brain damage. The autophagic agonist rapamycin only promotes the initiation of autophagy.By proteome analysis,a screen showed that protein dynamin2(DNM2)potentially regulates autophagic flux.Overexpression of DNM2 significantly increased the formation of autolysosomes, thus maintaining autophagic flux in combination with rapamycin.Furthermore, the enhancement of autophagic activity attenuated oxidative stress and neurological deficits after HH exposure. These results contribute to evidence supporting the conclusion that DNM2-mediated autophagic flux represents a new therapeutic target in HH-induced brain damage. | Shuhui Dai Yuan Feng Chuanhao Lu Hongchen Zhang Wenke Ma Wenyu Xie Xiuquan Wu Peng Luo Lei Zhang Fei Fei Zhou Fei Xia Li | 2024 | Neuroscience Bulletin2024,40,1: | 0
Rongchang and Xifeng capsules suppress pentylenetetrazole-induced seizures and change rest/wake behavior in zebrafish larvae显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effects of Rongchang capsule and Xifeng capsule on pentylenetetrazoleinduced epilepsy in zebrafish larvae and to explore the possible mechanisms behind their actions.METHODS:We utilized a trajectory tracking system to monitor seizures in zebrafish larva to confirm that certain concentrations of Rongchang capsule and Xifeng capsule produce antiepileptic effects.c-fos expression was assessed by quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction to validate the efficacy of the capsules.Rest/wake behavior and correlation analysis predicted the targets of Rongchang capsule and Xifeng capsule.RESULTS:Larval movement times and total distances traveled by zebrafish larvae experiencing pentylenetetrazole(PTZ)-induced seizures were decreasedbyvalproatetreatment.Rongchang(500μg/m L)and Xifeng(200μg/m L)rescued the epileptic behaviors and down-regulated c-fos expression in the brains of larvae, which indicated antiepileptic effects. The rest/wake behavioral profiles showed that Rongchang and Xifeng differentially decreased rest time at night and increased larval locomotor activities during the day.Based on correlation between the actions of the two capsules and known compounds,we predicted that they might change rest/wake behaviors by affecting serotonin,GABAergic and histamine signaling pathways.CONCLUSION:The efficacy of Rongchang capsule and Xifeng capsule in alleviating epilepsy-like behaviors and molecular responses was confirmed. Our study provides insight into the capsules'effect on epilepsy. | Zhang Shuhui Xu Jia Wang Chao Feng Daofu Dai Liangti Kuang Xiangyu Zhu Shuyi Fang Yongchun Chen Dongyan He Xianghui Feng Xizeng | 2019 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2019,39,6: | 0
Relationship between interleukin-18 levels and characterization of atherosclerotic plaque and percutaneous coronary intervention显示文摘Background lnterleuldn-18(IL- 18) plays a key role in the development, progression and outcome of coronary artery disease and its complications. However, its variability relation to the characterization of atherosclerotic plaque and percutaneous coronary intervention are still unknown. Methods Fifty four patients with coronary artery disease [22 patients with stable angina (SA) and 32 patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS)] were enrolled in this study. All patients underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).The stability of the plaques at the criminal vessels was assessed with analogical IVUS.Serum IL-18 levels were measured at the time points of 5 rain before PCI,and Oh,6h,24h and lmonth after PCI in all patients. Results ACS group consisted mainly of lipidic unstable plaques while SA group of fibrous stable plaques. Moreover, compared with those in SA group, eccentricity index (EI) and remodeling index (RI) were significantly higher in ACS group.Positive remodeling was seen in ACS group while negative or no remodeling in SA group.Further, serum IL-18 levels were significantly elevated in patients with ACS than those in SA group before PCI,increased at Oh,6h,24h after PCI (P<0.05)and were not significant different at 1 month after PCI from those before PCI.Conclusions There is significant difference in the composition and structural characteristics of atherosclerotic plaques between ACS and UA groups.PCI triggersd and enhances the inflammatory response in a short time.Serum levels of IL- 18 are the predictors of progression of unstable plaque in atherosclerosis.Post-operative complications of PCI might be reduced by inhibiting IL- 18.(J Geriatr Cardiol 2008;5:21-24) | Weihua Li Kaimin Lin Lei Gao Rong Wu Qiang Xie Yongjun Guo Shuhui Dai | 2008 | Journal of Geriatric Cardiology2008,5,1: | 0
Forecasting the number of species of asexually reproducing fungi(Ascomycota and Basidiomycota)显示文摘Asexually reproducing fungi play a significant role in essential processes in managed and wild ecosystems such as nutrients cycling and multitrophic interactions.A large number of such taxa are among the most notorious plant and animal pathogens. In addition, they have a key role in food production, biotechnology and medicine.Taxa without or rare sexual reproduction are distinguished based on their sporulating structures and conidiomata in traditional morphology-based taxonomy. The number, variation and diversity of asexually reproducing taxa are insufficiently known, even though fungi capable of asexual reproduction may provide an untapped, rich biological resource for future exploitation.Currently,ca.30,000 asexual species belonging to ca.3800 genera have been reported(including 1388 coelomycetous and 2265 hyphomycetous genera).Recent reports(2017–2020)reiterate that the number of asexually producing fungi is higher than the number of frequently sexually-reproducing fungi. With the advent of molecular tools and the abandonment of the dual nomenclature system for pleomorphic fungi, priority criteria were established and revisited in the latest outline of fungi and fungus-like taxa. However, species numbers and taxonomic boundaries of pleomorphic taxa and their synanamorphs or synasexual morphs have yet to be addressed. The number of species of speciose genera(e.g.Alternaria,Aspergillus,Cercospora,Fusarium,Phoma and Pseudocercospora),cryptic species, species of pleomorphic genera, less studied life modes(such as lichenicolous taxa, taxa from extreme environments)and species from biodiversity-rich areas still need evaluation to achieve more reliable estimates of their diversity. This paper discusses the current knowledge on the matter, with diversity estimates, and potential obstacles in several chapters on(1)speciose genera;(2)pleomorphic genera;(3)cryptic species;(4)well-studied but insufficiently resolved taxa,e.g.leaf inhabiting species, marine fungi,(5)less studied life modes,e.g.lichenicolous,rock-inhabiting fungi,insect-associated and yeast-forming taxa and(6)species from biodiversity-rich areas. | Nalin N.Wijayawardene Alan J.L.Phillips Diana Santos Pereira Dong-Qin Dai AndréAptroot Josiane S.Monteiro Irina S.Druzhinina Feng Cai Xinlei Fan Laura Selbmann Claudia Coleine Rafael F.Castañeda-Ruiz Martin Kukwa Adam Flakus Patricia Oliveira Fiuza Paul M.Kirk Kunhiraman C.Rajesh Kumar Ilesha S.leperuma Arachchi Nakarin Suwannarach Li-Zhou Tang Teun Boekhout Chen Shuhui Tan R.P.Prabath K.Jayasinghe Marco Thines | 2022 | Fungal Diversity2022,,3: | 0
