| 1 | SOME FEATURES OF CARBON CYCLES IN KARST SYSTEM AND THE IMPLICATION FOR EPIKARSTIFICATION —An Example of Yaji Karst Experimental Site in Guilin,China显示文摘The carbon pools of biomass,littering,and SOC wre studied with regards to carbon cycles in epikarst zone,taking an example of Yaji Karst Experiemnt Site in Guilin.This study was focused on SOC and its lability,SOC decomposition rate,CO 2 regime in the soils. 13 ctracing was used to persua the relation of bicarbonate in karst water to soil carbon.The results indicated sufficient carbon pool in SOC for the driveing CO 2 in the karst system.It was revealed that about 60percent of carbon in epi-karst springs resulted from SOC during spring and summer.Thus,the CO 2,driving the karstification,was not simply due to adsorption of atmospheric CO 2 but due to carbon transfer through the pathway of air-plant-soil-water.The driving force should not be overlooked for the epi-karst formation by soil as an interface of carbon environmental geochemistry. | Pan Genxing Tao Yuxiang Shun Yuhua Teng Yongzhong Han Fushun College of Resource & Environment Science,Nanjing Agricultural Univ.,Nanjing, 210095 People’s Republic of China | 1997 | Journal of Geographical Sciences1997，7，3： | 15 |

| 3 | Effect of Jiaji electroacupuncture in transected rat spinal cord显示文摘We evaluated the effect of Jiaji electroacupuncture on cell proliferation and the expression of markers of endogenous neural stem cell activation after complete spinal cord transection. Female Wistar rats were assigned to 4 groups (n = 24 each): a sham-operated group, a control group, a Jiaji electroacupuncture group, and a Jiaji electroacupuncture preconditioning group. Motor function was significantly improved in the acupuncture groups compared to the control group at 7 and 14 d. Numbers of bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU)-, nestin-, and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP)-positive cells were significantly greater in the acupuncture groups than in the controls at each time point. Expression of nestin and GFAP mRNA was significantly higher in the acupuncture groups than in the controls at each time point. | 4 | Investigation of Localized Transition of MEH-PPV by SPS显示文摘The investigations of surface photovoltage spectra are performed on thin films of poly[2 methoxy 5 (2′ ethyl hexyloxy) 1, 4 phenylene vinylene] in order to determine its photoelectric properties. It is found that a localized subgap electronic transition causes a polarity opposite band to band electronic transition(π-π *). | 5 | Effects of drug relief hospital-based AIDS educational methods on drug users显示文摘The objective of this study is to explore a potentially effective training method for the hospital professionals to educate drug users and to enhance their knowledge of HIV infection. One hundred and sixty one subjects, who came from 13 different provinces and were admitted in a drug relief hospital in Beijing, were recruited for this study. The average age of these subjects was 35.21±6.24 year old. The average numbers of years for drug addiction were 7 years, and the average numbers of drug relief treatment received in the past was 5.5 times. The level of AIDS knowledge of these subjects, including pathogenic factors, source of infection, route of transmission and preventive measures, were evaluated before and after receiving the AIDS educational training to these drug users. Our results showed that there was a statistically significant increase (P<0.01) in the knowledge of HIV infection and prevention among these subjects. Positive attitude and behavioral tendencies toward HIV prevention were also improved.
