2Simultaneous determination of ten taste and odor compounds in drinking water by solid-phase microextraction combined with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry显示文摘Taste and odor(T&O)problems in drinking water frequently occur because of many compounds present in the water,of which trans-1,10-dimethyl-trans-9-decalol(geosmin)and 2-methylisoborneol(MIB)are well-known.In this study,a fast and efective method was established for simultaneous determination of 10 T&O compounds,including geosmin,MIB,2,4,6-trichloroanisole(TCA),2-methylbenzofuran,2-isopropyl-3-methoxypyrazine(IPMP),2-isobutyl-3-methoxypyrazine(IBMP),cis-3-hexenyl acetate,trans,trans-2,4-heptadienal,trans,cis-2,6-nonadienal,and trans-2-decenal in water samples by headspace solid-phase microextraction(SPME)coupled with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.An orthogonal array experimental design was used to optimize the efects of SPME fiber,extraction temperature,stirring rate,NaCl content,extraction time,and desorption time.The limits of detection ranged from 0.1 to 73 ng/L were lower than or close to the odor threshold concentrations(OTCs).All the 10 T&O compounds were detected in the 14 water samples including surface water,treatment process water and tap water,taken from a waterworks in Lianyungang City,China.MIB and geosmin were detected in most samples at low concentration.Six T&O compounds(IPMP,IBMP,trans,cis-2,6-nonadienal,2-methylbenzofuran,trans-2-decenal,and TCA)were efectively decreased in water treatment process(sedimentation and filtration)that is diferent from cis-3-hexenyl acetate,MIB and geosmin.It is noted that the TCA concentrations at 15.9–122.3 ng/L and the trans,cis-2,6-nonadienal concentrations at 79.9–190.1 ng/L were over 10 times higher than their OTCs in tap water.The variation of the analytes in the all water samples,especially distribution system indicated that distribution system cannot be ignored as a T&O compounds source.Xichao Chen Qian Luo Shengguang Yuan Zi Wei Hanwen Song Donghong Wang Zijian Wang 2013Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,11:21
3Neuroprotective effect of ethyl acetate extract from gastrodia elata against transient focal cerebral ischemia in rats induced by middle cerebral artery occlusion显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the protective effect of neuroprotection against transient focal cerebral ischemia of the extract from Tianma(Rhizoma Gastrodiae) and the possible mechanisms underlying the action.METHODS: Cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury was induced through middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO). Adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups: sham-operated,ischemia-reperfusion model, 102.6 mg/kg extract treated and 11.4 mg/kg extract treated groups. The extract was prepared from gastrodia elata with ethyl acetate. The effect of the extract tested on rat neurological de fi cits and Cerebral index, cerebral infarct volume, brain injury, terminal dexynucleotidyl transferase-mediated d UTP nick end labeling(TUNEL) and B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2) positive cells.RESULTS: The extract was able to reduce neurological scores, cerebral index and cerebral infarction rate. The brain injury was also relieved by the extract. 5Mapping the immune microenvironment for mandibular alveolar bone homeostasis at single-cell resolution显示文摘Alveolar bone is the thickened ridge of jaw bone that supports teeth.It is subject to constant occlusal force and pathogens invasion,and is therefore under active bone remodeling and immunomodulation.Alveolar bone holds a distinct niche from long bone considering their different developmental origin and postnatal remodeling pattern.However,a systematic explanation of alveolar bone at single-cell level is still lacking.Here,we construct a single-cell atlas of mouse mandibular alveolar bone through single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq).A more active immune microenvironment is identified in alveolar bone,with a higher proportion of mature immune cells than in long bone.Among all immune cell populations,the monocyte/macrophage subpopulation most actively interacts with mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)subpopulation.Alveolar bone monocytes/macrophages express a higher level of Oncostatin M(Osm)compared to long bone,which promotes osteogenic differentiation and inhibits adipogenic differentiation of MSCs.In summary,our study reveals a unique immune microenvironment of alveolar bone,which may provide a more precise immune-modulatory target for therapeutic treatment of oral diseases.Weimin Lin Qiwen Li Danting Zhang Xiaohan Zhang Xingying Qi Qian Wang Yaqian Chen Caojie Liu Hanwen Li Shiwen Zhang Yuan Wang Bin Shao Li Zhang Quan Yuan 2021Bone Research2021,9,1:6

7New molecular method to detect denitrifying anaerobic methane oxidation bacteria from different environmental niches显示文摘The denitrifying anaerobic methane oxidation is an ecologically important process for reducing the potential methane emission into the atmosphere.The responsible bacterium for this process was Candidatus Methylomirabilis oxyfera belonging to the bacterial phylum of NC10.In this study,a new pair of primers targeting all the five groups of NC10 bacteria was designed to amplify NC10 bacteria from different environmental niches.The results showed that the group A was the dominant NC10 phylum bacteria from the sludges and food waste digestate while in paddy soil samples,group A and group B had nearly the same proportion.Our results also indicated that NC10 bacteria could exist in a high p H environment(pH 9.24)from the food waste treatment facility.The Pearson relationship analysis showed that the p H had a significant positive relationship with the NC10 bacterial diversity(p<0.05).The redundancy analysis further revealed that the p H,volatile solid and nitrite nitrogen were the most important factors in shaping the NC10 bacterial structure(p=0.01)based on the variation inflation factors selection and Monte Carlo test(999 times).Results of this study extended the existing molecular tools for studying the NC10 bacterial community structures and provided new information on the ecological distributions of NC10 bacteria.Sai Xu Wenjing Lu Farooq Mustafa Muhammad Yanting Liu Hanwen Guo Ruihong Meng Hongtao Wang 2018Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,3:4
8Understanding Sulfur Redox Mechanisms in Different Electrolytes for Room-Temperature Na-S Batteries显示文摘This work reports influence of two different electrolytes,carbonate ester and ether electrolytes,on the sulfur redox reactions in room-temperature Na-S batteries.Two sulfur cathodes with different S loading ratio and status are investigated.A sulfur-rich composite with most sulfur dispersed on the surface of a carbon host can realize a high loading ratio(72%S).In contrast,a confined sulfur sample can encapsulate S into the pores of the carbon host with a low loading ratio(44%S).In carbonate ester electrolyte,only the sulfur trapped in porous structures is active via‘solid-solid’behavior during cycling.The S cathode with high surface sulfur shows poor reversible capacity because of the severe side reactions between the surface polysulfides and the carbonate ester solvents.To improve the capacity of the sulfur-rich cathode,ether electrolyte with NaNO_(3) additive is explored to realize a‘solid-liquid’sulfur redox process and confine the shuttle effect of the dissolved polysulfides.As a result,the sulfur-rich cathode achieved high reversible capacity(483 mAh g^(−1)),corresponding to a specific energy of 362 Wh kg^(−1) after 200 cycles,shedding light on the use of ether electrolyte for high-loading sulfur cathode.Hanwen Liu Wei-Hong Lai Qiuran Yang Yaojie Lei Can Wu Nana Wang Yun-Xiao Wang Shu-Lei Chou Hua Kun Liu Shi Xue Dou 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,8:3
9Ticagrelor inhibits the NLRP3 inflammasome to protect against inflammatory disease independent of the P2Y_(12 ) signaling pathway显示文摘Ticagrelor is the first reversibly binding oralP2Y_(12) receptor antagonist to inhibit platelet activation and has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of coronary artery disease. At present, the other pharmacological functions of ticagrelor remain poorly understood. The NOD-, LRR-, and pyrin domain-containing protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome plays a critical role in the innate immune system, but its excessive activation also contributes to the pathogenesis of complex diseases. In this study, we systematically examined the effects of ticagrelor on the NLRP3 inflammasome and found that ticagrelor inhibits NLRP3 inflammasome activation in macrophages independent of its classic inhibitory effect on theP2Y_(12) signaling pathway. Further mechanistic studies demonstrate that ticagrelor attenuates the oligomerization of apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD (ASC) by blocking chloride efflux, an effect achieved through the degradation of chloride intracellular channel proteins (CLICs) and blockade of the translocation of CLICs to the plasma membrane. Moreover, experiments on lipopolysaccharide-induced sepsis and alum-induced peritonitis in mice confirmed that ticagrelor mitigates the severity of systemic inflammation independent ofP2Y_(12) receptor antagonism. Importantly, oral administration of ticagrelor rapidly and strongly inhibited NLRP3 inflammasome activation in peripheral blood mononuclear cells from patients with acute coronary syndrome. 10Cyanobacteria-based self-oxygenated photodynamic therapy for anaerobic infection treatment and tissue repair显示文摘Photodynamic therapy(PDT)is an important technique to deal with drug-resistant bacterial infections in the post-antibiotic era.However,the hypoxic environment in intractable infections such as refractory keratitis and periodontitis,makes PDT more difficult.In this work,spontaneous oxygen-producing cyanobacteria were used as the carrier of photosensitizer(Ce6),and ultrasmall Cu_(5.4)O nanoparticles(Cu_(5.4)O USNPs)with catalase activity for infection and inflammation elimination and rapid tissue repair(CeCycn-Cu_(5.4)O).The loading of Ce6 and Cu_(5.4)O USNPs onto cyanobacteria surface were confirmed by transmission electron microscopy,nano particle size analyzer,scanning electron microscopy.In vitro sterilization and biofilm removal experiments demonstrated that the restriction of hypoxic environment to PDT was significantly alleviated due to the oxygen production of cyanobacteria.Under laser irradiation,the close transfer of energy photons to oxygen produced by cyanobacteria reduced more than 90% of Ce6 dosages(660 nm,200 mW/cm^(2),2 min).It is worth mentioning that both rapid sterilization through PDT and long-term oxidized free radicals elimination were achieved by adjusting the ratio of Ce6 and Cu_(5.4)O USNPs.Both periodontitis and refractory keratitis animal models proved the excellent self-oxygenation enhanced antibacterial property and promotion of tissue repair.Bailiang Wang Liyang Zhou Yishun Guo Hanwen Guo Yiming Zhong Xiaomin Huang Yifan Ge Qingying Wang Xiaoying Chu Yingying Jin Kaiyue Lan Mei Yang Jia Qu 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,6:3

13Dimensional Gradient Structure of CoSe2@CNTs-MXene Anode Assisted by Ether for High-Capacity,Stable Sodium Storage显示文摘Recently,abundant resources,low-cost sodium-ion batteries are deemed to the new-generation battery in the field of largescale energy storage.Nevertheless,poor active reaction dynamics,dissolution of intermediates and electrolyte matching problems are significant challenges that need to be solved.Herein,dimensional gradient structure of sheet-tube-dots is constructed with CoSe2@CNTs-MXene.Gradient structure is conducive to fast migration of electrons and ions with the association of ether electrolyte.For half-cell,CoSe2@CNTs-MXene exhibits high initial coulomb efficiency(81.7%)and excellent cycling performance(400 mAh g^-1 cycling for 200 times in 2 Ag^−1).Phase transformation pathway from crystalline CoSe2-Na2Se with Co and then amorphous CoSe2 in the discharge/charge process is also explored by in situ X-ray diffraction.Density functional theory study discloses the CoSe2@CNTs-MXene in ether electrolyte system which contributes to stable sodium storage performance owing to the strong adsorption force from hierarchical structure and weak interaction between electrolyte and electrode interface.For full cell,CoSe2@CNTs-MXene//Na3V2(PO4)3/C full battery can also afford a competitively reversible capacity of 280 mAh g^−1 over 50 cycles.Concisely,profiting from dimensional gradient structure and matched electrolyte of CoSe2@CNTs-MXene hold great application potential for stable sodium storage.Enze Xu Pengcheng Li Junjie Quan Hanwen Zhu Li Wang Yajing Chang Zhenjie Sun Lei Chen Dabin Yu Yang Jiang 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,2:1
14Effects of Rainfall Change on Agricultural Non-point Source Pollution in Liangping County显示文摘[Objective] The study aimed to discuss the impact of rainfall change on agricultural non-point source pollution in Liangping County. [Method]Based on daily precipitation data of Liangping from 1955 to 2011,changes of precipitation and frequency of heavy rain in Liangping during a year were analyzed firstly,and then the risk of surface runoff caused by rainfall to agricultural non-point source pollution was studied,finally changing trends of annual average precipitation and frequency during 1955-2011 were discussed using Mann-Kendal method. [Result]Total precipitation of heavy rain in Liangping mainly concentrated from late May to early September,especially in early and middle July as well as early September. Meanwhile,fertilizer and pesticide were applied to main crops in Liangping in the periods above,so agricultural non-point source pollution became more serious. In recent 57 years,annual average precipitation and frequency of heavy rain in Liangping showed an increasing trend respectively, and surface runoff rose with the increase of the precipitation,thereby probably enlarging agricultural pollution area. 17Ruthenium-modified porous NiCo2O4 nanosheets boost overall water splitting in alkaline solution显示文摘Exploring efficient oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)electrocatalysts is crucial for developing water splitting devices.The composition and structure of catalysts are of great importance for catalytic performance.In this work,a heterogeneous Ru modified strategy is engineered to improve the catalytic performance of porous NiCo_(2)O_(4)nanosheets(NSs).Profiting from favorable elements composition and optimized structure property of decreased charge transfer barrier,more accessible active sites and increased oxygen vacancy concentration,the Ru-NiCo_(2)O_(4)NSs exhibits excellent OER activity with a low overpotential of 230 mV to reach the current density of 10 mA/cm^(2)and decent durability.Furthermore,Ru-NiCo_(2)O_(4)NSs show superior HER activity than the pristine NiCo_(2)O_(4)NSs,as well.When assembling Ru-NiCo_(2)O_(4)NSs couple as an alkaline water electrolyzer,a cell voltage of 1.60 V can deliver the current density of 10 mA/cm^(2).This work provides feasible guidance for improving the catalytic performance of spinel-based oxides.Rui Yang Xuezhao Shi Yanyan Wang Jing Jin Hanwen Liu Jie Yin Yong-Qing Zhao Pinxian Xi 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,11:1

20Fucoidan antagonizes diet-induced obesity and inflammation in mice显示文摘Obesity is an escalating global pandemic posing a serious threat to human health.The intervention therapy using weight-reducing drugs,accompanied by lifestyle modification,is a strategy for the treatment of obesity.In the present study,we explored the role of fucoidan,a seaweed compound,on high-fat diet(HFD)-induced obesity in mice.We found that fucoidan treatment significantly reduced the body fat and caused redistribution of visceral and subcutaneous fat in HFD-fed mice.Meanwhile,fucoidan treatment inhibited adipocyte hypertrophy and inflammation in adipose tissue.Collectively,these results suggest that fucoidan may be a promising treatment for obesity and obesity-induced complications.Lei Wang Kun Zhang Xin Ding Yan Wang Hui Bai Qing Yang Jingjing Ben Hanwen Zhang Xiaoyu Li Qi Chen Xudong Zhu 2021The Journal of Biomedical Research2021,35,3:1
