| 3 | SARS-CoV-2 Surveillance Through China Influenza Surveillance Information System—China,December 1,2022 to February 12,2023显示文摘Introduction:The World Health Organization(WHO)proposed using influenza surveillance systems to carry out coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)surveillance due to the similarity between the two diseases in some respiratory symptoms.To assess the prevalence of COVID-19,we analyzed the influenzalike illness(ILI)and positive rate of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)detections in ILI patients reported to the influenza Surveillance Information System(CNISIS)since late 2022.Methods:Data related to ILI were reported by national surveillance sentinel hospitals.Positive testing for SARS-CoV-2 and influenza viruses was conducted using real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(rRT-PCR)detection by the national influenza surveillance network laboratories.Surveillance data were reported to CNISIS.Results:Beginning on December 12,2022(Week 50),the ILI percentage increased dramatically,peaking in Week 51 at 12.1%.Subsequently,the ILI percentage began to decline rapidly from Week 52,2022,and by Week 6,2023(February 6-12),the ILI and ILI percentage had returned to the levels observed at the beginning of December 2022.From December 1,2022 to February 12,2023,115,844 specimens were tested for both SARS-CoV-2 and influenza virus.Of these,30,381(26.2%)were positive for SARSCoV-2 and 1,763(1.5%)were positive for influenza virus.The positive rate of SARS-CoV-2 tests peaked at 74.1%around December 23 and 25.Conclusions:Sentinel-based surveillance,previously established for influenza,is an effective way to track the circulation trend of SARS-CoV-2 during community-level epidemics.There was no coprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 and influenza virus during the outbreak of SARS-CoV-2,even during the winter influenza season.However,it is important to remain vigilant for the potential rise of influenza activities following the COVID-19 epidemic. | Xiaoxu Zeng Yiran Xie Xiaokun Yang Zhibin Peng Jing Tang Lei Yang Shuxia Lin Jun Han Yanping Zhang Dayan Wang | 2023 | China CDC weekly2023,5,7: | 1 |
| 4 | Chirality-selective transparency induced by lattice resonance in bilayer metasurfaces显示文摘Chiral optical responses of bilayer metasurfaces made of twisted metallic nanorods are investigated in detail with focus on the collective effect due to lattice resonance(LR).Using an analytical approach based on the coupled dipole method(supported by full wave simulation),we find optical chirality is dramatically increased by the coupling between localized surface plasmon resonances and LR.The collective effect results in significant chiral signal even for metasurfaces made of achiral unit cells.The interlayer coupling generally destroys the Wood’s anomaly and the associated transparency.While making use of Pancharatnam–Berry(PB)phase and propagation phase,one can modulate the optical activity effectively and achieve chirality-selective transparency induced by LR in a designed structure with a g-factor of absorption as high as 1.99(close to the upper limit of 2).Our studies not only reveal a new mechanism of modulating chiral optical response by combination effects from PB phase,propagation phase,and LR,but also give a quantitative relationship between the geometry configuration and chiral optical properties,thus providing helpful guidance for device design. | Shuxia Zhao Lei Shao Jianfang Wang Hai-Qing Lin Wei Zhang | 2021 | Photonics Research2021,9,4: | 0 |
| 5 | quarTeT: a telomere-to-telomere toolkit for gap-free genome assembly and centromeric repeat identification显示文摘A high-quality genome is the basis for studies on functional,evolutionary,and comparative genomics.The majority of attention has been paid to the solution of complex chromosome structures and highly repetitive sequences,along with the emergence of a new‘telomere-to-telomere(T2T)assembly’era.However,the bioinformatic tools for the automatic construction and/or characterization of T2T genome are limited.Here,we developed a user-friendly web toolkit,quarTeT,which currently includes four modules:AssemblyMapper,GapFiller,TeloExplorer,and CentroMiner.First,AssemblyMapper is designed to assemble phased contigs into the chromosome-level genome by referring to a closely related genome.Then,GapFiller would endeavor to fill all unclosed gaps in a given genome with the aid of additional ultra-long sequences.Finally,TeloExplorer and CentroMiner are applied to identify candidate telomere and centromere as well as their localizations on each chromosome.These four modules can be used alone or in combination with each other for T2T genome assembly and characterization.As a case study,by adopting the entire modular functions of quarTeT,we have achieved the Actinidia chinensis genome assembly that is of a quality comparable to the reported genome Hongyang v4.0,which was assembled with the addition of manual handling.Further evaluation of CentroMiner by searching centromeres in Arabidopsis thaliana and Oryza sativa genomes showed that quarTeT is capable of identifying all the centromeric regions that have been previously detected by experimental methods.Collectively,quarTeT is an efficient toolkit for studies of large-scale T2T genomes and can be accessed at http://gffzz5e5d042d71f64808hbxw0f9ku0ovf6xnf.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/quarTeT/home.html without registration. | Yunzhi Lin Chen Ye Xingzhu Li Qinyao Chen Ying Wu Feng Zhang Rui Pan Sijia Zhang Shuxia Chen Xu Wang Shuo Cao Yingzhen Wang Yi Yue Yongsheng Liu Junyang Yue | 2023 | Horticulture Research2023,10,8: | 0 |

| 7 | Down-regulation of MeMYB2 leads to anthocyanin accumulation and increases chilling tolerance in cassava(Manihot esculenta Crantz)显示文摘Chilling-induced accumulation of reactive oxygen species(ROS) is harmful to plants,which usually produce anthocyanins to scavenge ROS as protection from chilling stress.As a tropical crop,cassava is hypersensitive to chilling,but the biochemical basis of this hypersensitivity remains unclear.We previously generated Me MYB2-RNAi transgenic cassava with increased chilling tolerance.Here we report that Me MYB2-RNAi transgenic cassava accumulated less ROS but more cyanidin-3-O-glucoside than the wild type under early chilling stress.Under this stress,the anthocyanin biosynthesis pathway was more active in Me MYB2-RNAi lines than in the wild type,and several genes involved in the pathway,including Me TT8,were up-regulated by Me MYB2-RNAi in the transgenic cassava.Me MYB2 bound to the Me TT8 promoter and blocked its expression under both normal and chilling conditions,thereby inhibiting anthocyanin accumulation.Me TT8 was shown to bind to the promoter of Dihydroflavonol 4-reductase(Me DFR-2)and increased Me DFR-2 expression.Me MYB2 appears to act as an inhibitor of chilling-induced anthocyanin accumulation during the rapid response of cassava to chilling stress. | Xin Guo Xiaohui Yu Chenyu Lin Pingjuan Zhao Bin Wang Liangping Zou Shuxia Li Xiaoling Yu Yinhua Chen Peng Zhang Ming Peng Mengbin Ruan | 2023 | The Crop Journal2023,11,4: | 0 |
