| 2 | Endoscopic Palliative Treatment for Malignant Obstructive Jaundice: A Report of 929 Cases显示文摘Objective:To review the experience with endoscopic palliative treatment for malignant obstructive jaundice (MOJ) in 929 patients. Methods:929 patients (598 males and 331 females) underwent 1215 endoscopic palliative drainages for MOJ in our hospital. Tumor obstruetion oeeurred in the distal common bile duet(CBD)(263 patients), the middle CBD (43),and the hilum(909).The mean bilirubin level was 284.3 μmol/L(range 26-810). Of the 1215 drainages, 599 were performed by stenting with plastic endoprosthesis, 385 by naso-biliary eatheterization, 167 by expandable metal stents,39 by combined drainage method,19 by tumor sphincterotomy and 6 by endoseopie fistulostomy. Results:The successful rate of endoscopic procedure was 94.3%. The jaundice symptom was improved in 81.8% of the patients with a significant reduetion of serum bilirubin in 64.7%. The complication after treatment occurred in 23 eases (2.6%), including eholangitis(23 eases), panereatitis (8 eases), and bleeding (one ease), and 3 eases were dead (0.2%).The median survival time of all patients was 14 months and life time analysis showed a life expectancy of 75.9%, 44.0% and 25.2% at 1, 2 and 3 years respectively. Conclusion:In the patients with MOJ seeondary to panereatobiliary malignancy, sueeessful endoscopic drainage provides adequate relief of biliary obstruetion and is associated with low morbidity and mortality. | 3 | Signaling pathways in cancer-associated fibroblasts and targeted therapy for cancer显示文摘To flourish,cancers greatly depend on their surrounding tumor microenvironment(TME),and cancer-associated fibroblasts(CAFs)in TME are critical for cancer occurrence and progression because of their versatile roles in extracellular matrix remodeling,maintenance of sternness,blood vessel formation,modulation of tumor metabolism,immune response,and promotion of cancer cell proliferation,migration,invasion,and therapeutic resistance.CAFs are highly heterogeneous stromal cells and their crosstalk with cancer cells is mediated by a complex and intricate signaling network consisting of transforming growth factor-beta,phosphoinositide 3-kinase/AKT/mammalian target of rapamycin,mitogen-activated protein kinase,Wnt,Janus kinase/signal transducers and activators of transcription,epidermal growth factor receptor,Hippo,and nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells,etc.,signaling pathways.These signals in CAFs exhibit their own special characteristics during the cancer progression and have the potential to be targeted for anticancer therapy.Therefore,a comprehensive understanding of these signaling cascades in interactions between cancer cells and CAFs is necessary to fully realize the pivotal roles of CAFs in cancers.Herein,in this review,we will summarize the enormous amounts of findings on the signals mediating crosstalk of CAFs with cancer cells and its related targets or trials.Further,we hypothesize three potential targeting strategies,including,namely,epithelial-mesenchymal common targets,sequential target perturbation,and crosstalk-directed signaling targets,paving the way for CAF-directed or host cell-directed antitumor therapy. | Fanglong Wu Jin Yang Junjiang Liu Ye Wang Jingtian Mu Qingxiang Zeng Shuzhi Deng Hongmei Zhou | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,7: | 9 |

| 5 | Analysis of Rockfall and Its Impact on the Cut-and-Cover Tunnel in Dynamics显示文摘This paper presents the effect of thickness of Buffer layer on the safety of cut-and-cover tunnel under the given magnitude and height of rockfall, and the limit load of the structure. To establish calculating models of rockfall in different conditions, the dynamics of the fall down to the surface of the slope is taken into account and the exterior characteristics of the rockfall is analyzed. We have derived the formula for calculating velocity of rocks before and after collision, calculated the impact load upon the structures below and the limit load, and compared the impact force and limit load to judge the safety of the structure. | 6 | δ^(13)C and water-use efficiency indicated by δ^(13)C of different plant functional groups on Changbai Mountains, Northeast China显示文摘Leaf δ13C of different plant functional groups (trees, shrubs and forbs; evergreen and deciduous; annual, biennial and perennial) were examined on the Changbai Mountains, China. Life form has a significant influence on plant δ13C, suggesting that leaf δ13C is also ideal for distinguishing functional groups species in temperate and frigid zones with high humidity. Additionally, the difference of water-use efficiency (WUE) is significant among different plant functional groups. δ13C and WUE are in the following order of forbs < shrubs < trees. Within shrubs, δ13C and WUE are higher for evergreen shrubs than deciduous shrubs. | 7 | Transcriptomics and metabolomics analyses provide insights into postharvest ripening and senescence of tomato fruit under low temperature显示文摘Tomato is one of the most important vegetable crops in the world and is a model plant used to study the ripening of climacteric fleshy fruit.During the ripening process of tomato fruit,flavor and aroma metabolites,color,texture and plant hormones undergo significant changes.However,low temperatures delayed the ripening process of tomato fruit,inhibiting flavor compounds and ethylene production.Metabolomics and transcriptomics analyses of tomato fruit stored under low temperature(LT,5°C)and room temperature(RT,25°C)were carried out to investigate the effects of storage temperature on the physiological changes in tomato fruit after harvest.The results of transcriptomics changes revealed that the differentially expressed genes(DEGs)involved in tomato fruit ripening,including several kinds of transcription factors(TFs)(TCP,WRKY,MYB and bZIP),enzymes involved in cell wall metabolism[beta-galactosidase(β-GAL),pectinesterase(PE)and pectate lyase(PL),cellulose and cellulose synthase(CESA)],enzymes associated with fruit flavor and aroma[acetyltransferase(AT),malic enzyme(ME),lipoxygenase(LOX),aldehyde dehydrogenase(ALDH),alcohol dehydrogenase(ADH)and hexokinase(HK)],genes associated with heat stress protein 70 and genes involved in the production of plant hormones such as Ethylene responsive factor 1(ERF1),Auxin/indoleacetic acids protein(AUX/IAA),gibberellin regulated protein.Based on the above results,we constructed a regulatory network model of the effects of different temperatures during the fruit ripening process.According to the analysis of the metabolomics results,it was found that the contents of many metabolites in tomato fruit were greatly affected by storage temperature,including,organic acids(L-tartaric acid,a-hydroxyisobutyric acid and 4-acetamidobutyric acid),sugars(melezitose,beta-Dlactose,D-sedoheptulose 7-phosphate,2-deoxyribose 1-phosphate and raffinose)and phenols(coniferin,curcumin and feruloylputrescine).This study revealed the effects of storage temperature on postharvest tomato fruit and provided a basis for further understanding of the molecular biology and biochemistry of fruit ripening. | Chunmei Bai Caie Wu Lili Ma Anzhen Fu Yanyan Zheng Jiawei Han Changbao Li Shuzhi Yuan Shufang Zheng Lipu Gao Xinhua Zhang Qing Wang Demei Meng Jinhua Zuo | 2023 | Horticultural Plant Journal2023,9,1: | 3 |

| 15 | Viologen-Decorated TEMPO for Neutral Aqueous Organic Redox Flow Batteries显示文摘A novel electroactive organic molecule,viz.,1-(1-oxyl-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yl)-1′-(3-(trimethylammonio)propyl)-4,4′-bipyridinium trichloride((TPABPy)Cl3),is synthesized by decorating 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-1-oxyl(TEMPO)with viologen,which is used as the positive electrolyte in neutral aqueous redox flow battery(ARFB).Extensive characterizations are performed to investigate the composition/structure and the electrochemical behavior,revealing the favorable effect of introducing the cationic viologen group on the electroactive TEMPO.Salient findings are as follows.First,the redox potential is elevated from+0.745V for TEMPO to+0.967V for decorated TEMPO,favoring its use as the positive electrolyte.Such an elevation originates from the electron-withdrawing effect of the viologen unit,as evidenced by the nuclear magnetic resonance and single crystal structure analysis.Second,linear sweep voltammetry reveals that the diffusion coefficient is 2:97×10^(−6) cm^(2) s^(−1),and the rate constant of the one-electron transfer process is 7:50×10^(−2) cm s^(−1).The two values are sufficiently high as to ensure low concentration and kinetics polarization losses during the battery operation.Third,the permeability through anion-exchange membrane is as low as 1:80×10^(−11) cm^(2) s^(−1).It is understandable as the positive-charged viologen unit prevents the molecule from permeating through the anion exchange membrane by the Donnan effect.Fourth,the ionic nature features a decent conductivity and thus eliminates the use of additional supporting electrolyte.Finally,a flow battery is operated with 1.50M(TPABPy)Cl3 as the positive electrolyte,which affords a high energy density of 19.0WhL-1 and a stable cycling performance with capacity retention of 99.98%per cycle. | Shuzhi Hu Liwen Wang Xianzhi Yuan Zhipeng Xiang Mingbao Huang Peng Luo Yufeng Liu Zhiyong Fu Zhenxing Liang | 2021 | Energy Material Advances2021,,1: | 1 |
