| 1 | Integrated model for earthquake risk assessment using neural network and analytic hierarchy process:Aceh province,Indonesia显示文摘Catastrophic natural hazards,such as earthquake,pose serious threats to properties and human lives in urban areas.Therefore,earthquake risk assessment(ERA)is indispensable in disaster management.ERA is an integration of the extent of probability and vulnerability of assets.This study develops an integrated model by using the artificial neural network–analytic hierarchy process(ANN–AHP)model for constructing the ERA map.The aim of the study is to quantify urban population risk that may be caused by impending earthquakes.The model is applied to the city of Banda Aceh in Indonesia,a seismically active zone of Aceh province frequently affected by devastating earthquakes.ANN is used for probability mapping,whereas AHP is used to assess urban vulnerability after the hazard map is created with the aid of earthquake intensity variation thematic layering.The risk map is subsequently created by combining the probability,hazard,and vulnerability maps.Then,the risk levels of various zones are obtained.The validation process reveals that the proposed model can map the earthquake probability based on historical events with an accuracy of 84%.Furthermore,results show that the central and southeastern regions of the city have moderate to very high risk classifications,whereas the other parts of the city fall under low to very low earthquake risk classifications.The findings of this research are useful for government agencies and decision makers,particularly in estimating risk dimensions in urban areas and for the future studies to project the preparedness strategies for Banda Aceh. | Ratiranjan Jena Biswajeet Pradhan Ghassan Beydoun Nizamuddin Ardiansyah Hizir Sofyan Muzailin Affan | 2020 | Geoscience Frontiers2020,11,2: | 5 |
| 2 | Reinterpretation of histology of proximal colon polyps called hyperplastic in 2001显示文摘AIM: To evaluate how proximal colon polyps interpreted as hyperplastic polyps in 2001 would be interpreted by expert pathologists in 2007. METHODS: Forty consecutive proximal colon polyps ≥ 5 mm in size, removed in 2001, and originally interpreted as hyperplastic polyps by general pathologists at Indiana University, were reviewed in 2007 by 3 GI pathologists. RESULTS: The gastrointestinal (GI) pathologists interpreted 85%, 43% and 30% of the polyps as sessile serrated polyps (sessile serrated adenomas). The overall Kappa was 0.16. When diagnoses were compared in pairs, Kappa values were 0.38 and 0.25 (fair agreement) and 0.14 (slight agreement). | 10 | Chitosan-praseodymium complex for adsorption of fluoride ions from water显示文摘Engineering of chitosan by praseodymium has been investigated to improve the adsorption properties as well as physical characteristics of chitosan. Modification of chitosan changes the original properties of chitosan so that it can be more suitable for adsorption of fluoride ions. In this study, chitosan-praseodymium(Chi-Pr) was synthesized by impregnation method. The Chi-Pr complex was characterized by scanning electron microscopic-energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(SEM-EDX), Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) and employed as an adsorbent for removal of fluorides ions from water in the batch system. The variables such as contact time, concentration of Pr, adsorbent dose, initial concentration of fluoride ions, and competitor anions were studied. The adsorption efficiency of fluoride ions(η) with increasing Pr loading into chitosan(5 wt.%, 10 wt.%, 15 wt.%, 20 wt.% and 25 wt.%) were 35.5%, 56.1%, 72.0%, 68.5% and 62.5%, respectively. The Chi-Pr(15 wt.%) complex had the highest fluoride removal efficiency(72.0%). The experimental data fitted well to the Langmuir isotherm with maximum adsorption capacity(q max) of 15.87 mg/g and an equilibrium constant(k L) of 0.15 mg. Kinetic study revealed that the adsorption of fluoride ions from water followed pseudo-second-order model with a maximum adsorption capacity(q2) of 8.20 mg/g and a rate constant(k2) of 0.01 g/mg·min. Adsorption efficiency of fluoride ions in the simulated drinking water was diminished with the changes in p H levels. | 17 | Rotating polarizer, compensator, and analyzer ellipsometry显示文摘In this paper we propose theoretically a set of ellipsometric configurations using a rotating polarizer, compensator, and analyzer at a speed ratio of N1ω:N2ω:N3ω. Different ellipsometric configurations can be obtained by giving different integral values to N1, N2, and N3. All configurations are applied to bulk c-Si and GaAs to calculate the real and imaginary parts of the refractive index of the samples. The accuracies of all ellipsometric configurations are investigated in the presence of a hypothetical noise and with small misalignments of the optical elements. Moreover, the uncertainties in the ellipsometric parameters as functions of the uncertainties of the Fourier coefficients are studied. | 19 | Kidney transplantation in Indonesia: An update显示文摘Objective:Indonesia has overcome several barriers to the growth of kidney transplantation within the past decade.Currently,the procedure is increasingly performed in several centers across the country.However there are limited publications on kidney transplantation from Indonesia,especially from centers outside Jakarta.This study aims to give a brief overview on transplantation performed,discuss current efforts and progresses of transplantation in Indonesia and chiefly Semarang.Methods:Retrospective analysis of 20 transplant cases in Semarang during 2014e2018 was performed.Information from other transplant centers was acquired through formal correspondences with 11 central teaching hospitals in Jakarta,Surabaya,Yogyakarta,Malang,Bali,Solo,Palembang,Aceh,Medan,Bandung,and Padang.Results:There were 629 recorded kidney transplantations performed in 12 centers,and we report on 245 cases with viable data.The average age of kidney recipients were younger(35.4 years old)compared to the donors(41.3 years old).Approximately half of the kidneys were obtained from related donors(49.0%)and there was only one case of cadaveric donor.The three leading etiologies of end-stage renal disease were hypertension(37.4%),diabetes mellitus(26.1%),and autoimmune disease(11.3%).There is only one center that has performed more than 100 kidney transplants in Indonesia.Conclusion:Indonesia has successfully overcome several major hurdles that had previously hindered the growth of transplantation.Further improvement should concentrate on the development of integrated organ transplant infrastructure,decentralization of transplant professionals,establishment of National kidney transplant database and changing the Nation’s paradigm on cadaveric organ donor through public education. | Tommy Supit Eriawan Agung Nugroho Ardy Santosa Moh Adi Soedarso Nanda Daniswara Sofyan Rais Addin | 2019 | Asian Journal of Urology2019,6,4: | 0 |
