1A comparative study between Embosphere~ and conventional transcatheter arterial chemoembolization for treatment of unresectable liver metastasis from GIST显示文摘Objective:Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) is a standard treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) and/or some unresectable liver metastasis tumors.Hypervascular liver metastatic lesions such as metastasis from gastrointestinal stromal tumor(GIST) are an indication for transcatheter arterial embolization(TAE).The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Embosphere~-TAE(Embo-TAE) in comparison with conventional TACE(cTACE) for the treatment of liver metastasis from GIST.Methods:A total of 45 patients who underwent TACE between Aug 2008 and Feb 2013 were enrolled.Patients with GIST who underwent TAE with Embosphere~(n=19) were compared with controls who received cTACE(n=26).The primary end points were treatment response and treatment-related adverse events.The secondary end points were progression-free survival(PFS) and overall survival(OS).Results:The treatment response of Embo-TAE group was significantly higher than that of the cTACE group(P<0.001).The PFS was significantly better in the Embosphere~-group than in the cTACE group(56.6 and 42.1 weeks,respectively;P=0.003).However,there was no statistically significant difference in liver toxicity between the two groups(P>0.05).The median OS in the Embo-TAE group was longer than that in the cTACE group(74.0 weeks,95% CI:68.2-79.8 vs.61.7 weeks,95% CI:56.2-67.2 weeks)(unadjusted P=0.045).The use of Embo-TAE significantly reduced the risk of death in patients with GIST with liver metastases according to the Cox proportional hazards regression model [hazard ratio(HR):0.149;95% CI:0.064-0.475].Conclusions:TAE with Embosphere~ showed better treatment response and delayed tumor progression compared with cTACE.There was no significant difference in treatment-related hepatic toxicities.EmboTAE thus appears to be a feasible and promising approach in the treatment of liver metastasis from GIST.Guang Cao Xu Zhu Jian Li Lin Shen Renjie Yang Hui Chen Xiaodong Wang Song Gao Haifeng Xu Linzhong Zhu Peng Liu Jianhai Guo 2014Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2014,26,1:18
2Prognostic factors for transarterial chemoembolization combined with sustained oxaliplatin-based hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy of colorectal cancer liver metastasis显示文摘Objective: To investigate the prognostic factors in chemorefractory colorectal cancer liver metastasis(CRCLM)patients treated by transarterial chemoembolization(TACE) and sustained hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy(HAIC).Methods: Between 2006 and 2015, 162 patients who underwent 763 TACE and HAIC in total were enrolled in this retrospective study, including 110 males and 52 females, with a median age of 60(range, 26–83) years.Prognostic factors were assessed with Log-rank test, Cox univariate and multivariate analyses.Results: The median survival time(MST) and median progression-free survival(PFS) of the 162 patients from first TACE/HAIC were 15.6 months and 5.5 months respectively. Normal serum carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA19-9, <37 U/m L)(P<0.001) and carbohydrate antigen 72-4(CA72-4, <6.7 U/m L)(P=0.026), combination with other local treatment(liver radiotherapy or liver radiofrequency ablation)(P=0.034) and response to TACE/HAIC(P<0.001) were significant factors related to survival after TACE/HAIC in univariate analysis. A multivariate analysis revealed that normal serum CA19-9(P<0.001), response to TACE/HAIC(P<0.001) and combination with other local treatment(P=0.001) were independent factors among them.Conclusions: Our findings indicate that serum CA19-9 <37 U/m L and response to TACE/HAIC are significant prognostic indicators for this combined treatment, and treated with other local treatment could reach a considerable survival benefit for CRCLM. Metal nanowires(NWs) with the excellent photoelectric properties as next-generation TE candidates have widely applications in smart optoelectronic devices such as electronic skins, wearable electronics, robotic skins, flexible and stretchable displays. 4A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. 5Denoising method of X-ray phase contrast DR image for TRISO-coated fuel particles显示文摘TRISO(tristructural-isotropic) fuel is a type of micro fuel particles used in high-temperature gas-cooled reactors(HTGRs).Among the quality evaluation methods for such particles,in-line phase contrast imaging technique(PCI) is more feasible for nondestructive measurement.Due to imaging hardware limitations,high noise level is a distinct feature of PCI images,and as a result,the dimensional measurement accuracy of TRISO-coated fuel particles decreases.Therefore,we propose an improved denoising hybrid model named as NL P-M model which introduces non-local theory and retains the merits of the Perona-Malik(P-M) model.The improved model is applied to numerical simulation and practical PCI images.Quantitative analysis proves that this new anisotropic diffusion model can preserve edge or texture information effectively,while ruling out noise and distinctly decreasing staircasing artifacts.Especially during the process of coating layer thickness measurement,the NL P-M model makes it easy to obtain continuous contours without noisy points or fake contour segments,thus enhancing the measurement accuracy.To address calculation complexity,a graphic processing unit(GPU) is adopted to realize the acceleration of the NL P-M denoising.Min Yang Jianhai Zhang Fanyong Meng Sung-Jin Song Xingdong Li Wenli Liu Dongbo Wei 2013Particuology2013,11,6:2

12Effects of dietary supplementation of Lactobacillus plantarum and Bacillus subtilis on growth performance,survival,immune response,antioxidant capacity and digestive enzyme activity in olive flounder(Paralichthys olivaceus)显示文摘In present study,a 10-month feeding trial was carried out to investigate effects of dietary Lactobacillus plantarum and Bacillus subtilis supplementation singly on growth performance,innate immune response,antioxidant capacity and digestive enzyme activity of olive flounder under a commercial production environment.Two experimental groups fed basal diet with supplementation of L.plantarum(5.0×107 CFU/g diet)and B.subtilis(1.0×108 CFU/g diet)respectively,and control group fed with basal diet without probiotics supplement.At harvest,serum immune parameters,liver antioxidant indices and digestive enzyme activities in liver,stomach and intestines were measured.Fish fed with B.subtilis supplemented diet showed the highest growth rate which was significantly higher than L.plantarum supplemented group(P<0.05)which was also significantly higher than control group(P<0.05).Survival rate were significantly elevated by feeding diet with L.plantarum supplementation(P<0.05),while the improvement was not significant for B.subtilis supplemented diet compared to control group.All the studied immune parameters in serum were substantially enhanced in both experimental groups.Similar results were observed for the antioxidant capacity in liver.Besides,the activities of digestive enzymes increased substantially in both experimental groups compared to control group and the detected improvement in dietary B.subtilis supplemented group were all higher than in L.plantarum supplemented group,though not all the improvements were significant.In summary,the separate supplementation of B.subtilis and L.plantarum in diet is more beneficial for growth performance and healthy status respectively.Hence,in olive flounder aquaculture,favorable effects of compounded supplementation of L.plantarum and B.subtilis are expected.Yangzhen Li Yingming Yang Limin Song Jialin Wang Yuanri Hu Qian Yang Peng Cheng Jianhai Li 2021Aquaculture and Fisheries2021,6,3:1
