| 3 | High-density genetic map construction and identification of loci controlling flower-type traits in Chrysanthemum(Chrysanthemum×morifolium Ramat.)显示文摘Flower type is an important and extremely complicated trait of chrysanthemum.The corolla tube merged degree(CTMD)and the relative number of ray florets(RNRF)are the two key factors affecting chrysanthemum flower type.However,few reports have clarified the inheritance of these two complex traits,which limits directed breeding for flower-type improvement.In this study,305 F1 hybrids were obtained from two parents with obvious differences in CTMD and RNRF performance.Using specific-locus amplified fragment sequencing(SLAF-seq)technology,we constructed a high-density genetic linkage map with an average map distance of 0.76 cM.Three major QTLs controlling CTMD and four major QTLs underlying RNRF were repeatedly detected in the 2 years.Moreover,the synteny between the genetic map and other Compositae species was investigated,and weak collinearity was observed.In QTL regions with a high degree of genomic collinearity,eight annotated genes were probed in the Helianthus annuus L.and Lactuca sativa L.var.ramosa Hort.genomes.Furthermore,20 and 11 unigenes were identified via BLAST searches between the SNP markers of the QTL regions and the C.vestitum and C.lavandulifolium transcriptomes,respectively.These results lay a foundation for molecular marker-assisted breeding and candidate gene exploration in chrysanthemum without a reference assembly. | Xuebin Song Yuhui Xu Kang Gao Guangxun Fan Fan Zhang Chengyan Deng Silan Dai He Huang Huaigen Xin Yingying Li | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 5 |
| 4 | Effects of Elevated CO_2 and Drought on Plant Physiology, Soil Carbon and Soil Enzyme Activities显示文摘Global climate models have indicated high probability of drought occurrences in the coming future decades due to the impacts of climate change caused by a mass release of CO_2. Thus, climate change regarding elevated ambient CO_2 and drought may consequently affect the growth of crops. In this study, plant physiology, soil carbon, and soil enzyme activities were measured to investigate the impacts of elevated CO_2 and drought stress on a Stagnic Anthrosol planted with soybean(Glycine max). Treatments of two CO_2 levels, three soil moisture levels, and two soil cover types were established. The results indicated that elevated CO_2 and drought stress significantly affected plant physiology. The inhibition of plant physiology by drought stress was mediated via prompted photosynthesis and water use efficiency under elevated CO_2 conditions. Elevated CO_2 resulted in a longer retention time of dissolved organic carbon(DOC) in soil, probably by improving the soil water effectiveness for organic decomposition and mineralization. Drought stress significantly decreased C:N ratio and microbial biomass carbon(MBC), but the interactive effects of drought stress and CO_2 on them were not significant. | 5 | In Situ Synthesis of Fluorescent Mesoporous Silica–Carbon Dot Nanohybrids Featuring Folate Receptor-Overexpressing Cancer Cell Targeting and Drug Delivery显示文摘Multifunctional nanocarrier-based theranostics is supposed to overcome some key problems in cancer treatment.In this work,a novel method for the preparation of a fluorescent mesoporous silica–carbon dot nanohybrid was developed.Carbon dots(CDs),from folic acid as the raw material,were prepared in situ and anchored on the surface of amino-modified mesoporous silica nanoparticles(MSNs–NH2) via a microwave-assisted solvothermal reaction.The as-prepared nanohybrid(designated MSNs–CDs) not only exhibited strong and stable yellow emission but also preserved the unique features of MSNs(e.g.,mesoporous structure,large specific surface area,and good biocompatibility),demonstrating a potential capability for fluorescence imagingguided drug delivery.More interestingly,the MSNs–CDs nanohybrid was able to selectively target folate receptor-overexpressing cancer cells(e.g.,HeLa),indicating that folic acid still retained its function even after undergoing the solvothermal reaction.Benefited by these excellent properties,the fluorescent MSNs–CDs nanohybrid can be employed as a fluorescence-guided nanocarrier for the targeted deliveryof anticancer drugs(e.g.,doxorubicin),thereby enhancing chemotherapeutic efficacy and reducing side effects.Our studies may provide a facile strategy for the fabrication of multifunctional MSN-based theranostic platforms,which is beneficial in the diagnosis and therapy of cancers in future. | Shuai Zhao Shan Sun Kai Jiang Yuhui Wang Yu Liu Song Wu Zhongjun Li Qinghai Shu Hengwei Lin | 2019 | Nano-Micro Letters2019,11,2: | 5 |

| 9 | Upgrading CO_(2) into acetate on Bi_(2)O_(3)@carbon felt integrated electrode via coupling electrocatalysis with microbial synthesis显示文摘Upgrading of atmospheric CO_(2) into high-value-added acetate using renewable electricity via electrocatalysis solely remains a great challenge.Here,inspired by microbial synthesis via biocatalysts,we present a coupled system to produce acetate from CO_(2) by bridging inorganic electrocatalysis with microbial synthesis through formate intermediates.A 3D Bi_(2)O_(3)@CF integrated electrode with an ice-sugar gourd shape was fabricated via a straightforward hydrothermal synthesis strategy,wherein Bi_(2)O_(3) microspheres were decorated on carbon fibers.This ice-sugar gourd-shaped architecture endows electrodes with multiple structural advantages,including synergistic contribution,high mass transport capability,high structural stability,and large surface area.Consequently,the resultant Bi_(2)O_(3)@CF exhibited a maximum Faradic efficiency of 92.4%at−1.23 V versus Ag/AgCl for formate generation in 0.5 M KHCO_(3),exceeding that of Bi_(2)O_(3)/CF prepared using a conventional electrode preparation strategy.Benefiting from the high formate selectivity,unique architecture,and good biocompatibility,the Bi_(2)O_(3)@CF electrode attached with enriched CO_(2)-fixing electroautotrophs served as a biocathode.As a result,a considerable acetate yield rate of 0.269±0.009 g L^(−1) day^(−1)(a total acetate yield of 3.77±0.12 g L^(−1) during 14-day operation)was achieved in the electrochemical–microbial system equipped with Bi_(2)O_(3)@CF. | Xiaojing Liu Kang Zhang Yidan Sun Shukang Zhang Zhenyu Qiu Tianshun Song Jingjing Xie Yuping Wu Yuhui Chen | 2023 | SusMat2023,3,2: | 1 |

| 12 | Identification and characterization of MeERF genes and their targets in pathogen response by cassava(Manihot esculenta)显示文摘Cassava,Manihot esculenta Crantz (Me),is a major dietary source of calories for over 700 million people in tropical regions.The production of cassava is constantly threatened by cassava bacterial blight (CBB),caused by Xanthomonas axonopodis pv.manihotis (Xam).The gene resources for CBB-resistant breeding of cassava are limited.In model plant species,ethylene response factors play important roles in response to pathogen infection.In this study,cassava ethylene response factors (MeERFs) were identified and characterized as the first step in studying their potential for CBB-resistant breeding of cassava.In the cassava genome 155 MeERFs were identified,of which 23 were induced by Xam infection.The promoter regions of204 genes harbored GCC-box that had the potential to interact with MeERFs.Using 37 transcriptomes derived from Xam infection treatment,four gene co-expression modules for the MeERFs and GCC-box containing genes were constructed.Six MeERFs were associated with two GCC-box containing genes:transcription initiation factor TFIIE subunit beta (MeTFIIE),and histone-lysine N-methyltransferase ASHR1 (MeASHR1).Dual-luciferase reporter assays showed that MeERF10 and MeERF58 positively regulated Me TFIIE;MeERF137 negatively regulated Me TFIIE;MeERF10 and MeERF137 positively regulated Me ASHR1;and MeERF35 negatively regulated Me ASHR1.The four MeERFs may mediate pathogen response by regulating the expression of the two GCC-box containing genes. | Yuhui Hong Yong Xiao Na Song Shousong Zhu Rui Zhao Ke Li Mengting Geng Xiaohui Yu Honggang Wang Wei Xia Yinhua Chen | 2021 | The Crop Journal2021,9,5: | 1 |

| 16 | Nitrate removal to its fate in wetland mesocosm filled with sponge iron:Impact of influent COD/N ratio显示文摘Sponge iron(s-Fe°)is a porous metal with the potential to be an electron donor for denitrification.This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of using s-Fe as the substrate of wetland mesocosms.Here,wetland mesocosms with the addition of s-Fe'particles(CW-Fc)and a blank control group(CW-CK)were established.The NOj-N reduction property and water quality parameters(pH.DO.and ORP)were examined at three COD/N ratios(0.5.and 10).Results showed that the NO3--N removal efficiencies were significantly increased by 6.6 to 58.9%in the presence of s-Fe NH4+-N was mainly produced by chemical denitrification,and approximately 50% of the NO3--N was reduced to N4+-N,at the COD ratio of 0.An increase of the influent COD/N ratio resulted in lower chemical denitrification and higher bio-dcnitrification.Although chemical denitrification mediated by s-Fe led to an accumulation of NH4+-N at COD/N ratios of 0 and 5.the TIN removal efficiencies increased by 4.5#12.4#.Moreover,the effluent pll,DO.and ORP values showed a significant negative correlation with total Fe and Fe(II)(P<0.01).High-throughput sequencing analysis indicated that Trichococctis(77.2%)was the most abundant microorganism in the CW-Fc mcsocosm,while Thauera,Zoogloea.and Herbaspirillum were the primary denitrifying bacteria.The denitrifiers,Simplicispira,IXxhloronwnas,and Denirratisoma.were the dominant bacteria for CW-CK.This study provides a valuable method and an improved understanding of NOj-N reduction characteristics of s-Fc in a wetland mcsocosm. | Zhihao Si Xinshan Song Xin Cao Yuhui Wang Yifei Wang Yufeng Zhao Xiaoyan Ge Awet Arefe Tesfahunegn | 2020 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2020,14,1: | 1 |

| 18 | Bromodomain-containing proteins BRD1, BRD2, and BRD13 are core subunits of SWI/SNF complexes and vital for their genomic targeting in Arabidopsis显示文摘Switch defective/sucrose non-fermentable(SWI/SNF)chromatin remodeling complexes are multi-subunit machines that play vital roles in the regulation of chromatin structure and gene expression.However,the mechanisms by which SWI/SNF complexes recognize their target loci in plants are not fully understood.Here,we show that the Arabidopsis thaliana bromodomain-containing proteins BRD1,BRD2,and BRD13 are core subunits of SWI/SNF complexes and critical for SWI/SNF genomic targeting.These three BRDs interact directly with multiple SWI/SNF subunits,including the BRAHMA(BRM)catalytic subunit.Phenotypic and transcriptomic analyses of the brd1 brd2 brd13 triple mutant revealed that these BRDs act largely redundantly to control gene expression and developmental processes that are also regulated by BRM.Genome-wide occupancy profiling demonstrated that these three BRDs extensively colocalize with BRM on chromatin.Simultaneous loss of function of three BRD genes results in reduced BRM protein levels and decreased occupancy of BRM on chromatin across the genome.Furthermore,we demonstrated that the bromodomains of BRDs are essential for genomic targeting of the BRD subunits of SWI/SNF complexes to their target sites.Collectively,these results demonstrate that BRD1,BRD2,and BRD13 are core subunits of SWI/SNF complexes and reveal their biological roles in facilitating genomic targeting of BRM-containing SWI/SNF complexes in plants. | Yaoguang Yu Wei Fu Jianqu Xu Yawen Lei Xin Song Zhenwei Liang Tao Zhu Yuhui Liang Yuanhao Hao Liangbing Yuan Chenlong Li | 2021 | Molecular Plant2021,14,6: | 1 |

| 20 | The Association Between H3K4me3 and Antisense Transcription显示文摘Histone H3 lysine 4 trimethylation(H3K4me3) is well known to occur in the promoter region of genes for transcription activation.However,when investigating the H3K4me3 profiles in the mouse cerebrum and testis,we discovered that H3K4me3 also has a significant enrichment at the 3 0 end of actively transcribed(sense) genes,named as 3 0-H3K4me3.3 0-H3K4me3 is associated with 15% of protein-coding genes in both tissues.In addition,we examined the transcriptional initiation signals including RNA polymerase II(RNAPII) binding sites and 5 0-CAGE-tag that marks transcriptional start sites.Interestingly,we found that 3 0-H3K4me3 is associated with the initiation of antisense transcription.Furthermore,3 0-H3K4me3 modification levels correlate positively with the antisense expression levels of the associated sense genes,implying that 3 0-H3K4me3 is involved in the activation of antisense transcription.Taken together,our findings suggest that H3K4me3 may be involved in the regulation of antisense transcription that initiates from the 3 0 end of sense genes.In addition,a positive correlation was also observed between the expression of antisense and the associated sense genes with 3 0-H3K4me3 modification.More importantly,we observed the 3 0-H3K4me3 enrichment among genes in human,fruitfly and Arabidopsis,and found that the sequences of 3 0-H3K4me3-marked regions are highly conserved and essentially indistinguishable from known promoters in vertebrate.Therefore,we speculate that these 3 0-H3K4me3-marked regions may serve as potential promoters for antisense transcription and 3 0-H3K4me3 appear to be a universal epigenetic feature in eukaryotes.Our results provide a novel insight into the epigenetic roles of H3K4me3 and the regulatory mechanism of antisense transcription. | Peng Cui Wanfei Liu Yuhui Zhao Qiang Lin Feng Ding Chengqi Xin Jianing Geng Shuhui Song Fanglin Sun Songnian Hu Jun Yu | 2012 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2012,10,2: | 1 |
