| 1 | Climate change over the Yarlung Zangbo River Basin during 1961-2005显示文摘The Yarlung Zangbo River (YR) is the highest great river in the world, and its basin is one of the centers of human economic activity in Tibet. Using 10 meteorological stations over the YR basin in 1961–2005, the spatial and temporal characteristics of temperature and precipitation as well as potential evapotranspiration are analyzed. The results are as follows. (1) The annual and four seasonal mean air temperature shows statistically significant increasing trend, the tendency is more significant in winter and fall. The warming in Lhasa river basin is most significant. (2) The precipitation is decreasing from the 1960s to the 1980s and increasing since the 1980s. From 1961 to 2005, the annual and four seasonal mean precipitation is increasing but not statistically significant, especially in fall and spring. The increasing precipitation rates are more pronounced in Niyangqu and Palong Zangbo river basins, the closer to the upper YR is, the less precipitation increasing rate would be. (3) The annual and four seasonal mean potential evapotranspiration has decreased, especially after the 1980s, and most of it happens in winter and spring. The decreasing trend is most significant in the middle YR and Nianchu river basin. (4) Compared with the Mt. | 3 | Prediction of Primary Climate Variability Modes at the Beijing Climate Center显示文摘Climate variability modes, usually known as primary climate phenomena, are well recognized as the most important predictability sources in subseasonal–interannual climate prediction. This paper begins by reviewing the research and development carried out, and the recent progress made, at the Beijing Climate Center(BCC) in predicting some primary climate variability modes. These include the El Ni?o–Southern Oscillation(ENSO), Madden–Julian Oscillation(MJO), and Arctic Oscillation(AO), on global scales, as well as the sea surface temperature(SST) modes in the Indian Ocean and North Atlantic, western Pacific subtropical high(WPSH), and the East Asian winter and summer monsoons(EAWM and EASM, respectively), on regional scales. Based on its latest climate and statistical models, the BCC has established a climate phenomenon prediction system(CPPS) and completed a hindcast experiment for the period 1991–2014. The performance of the CPPS in predicting such climate variability modes is systematically evaluated. The results show that skillful predictions have been made for ENSO, MJO, the Indian Ocean basin mode, the WPSH, and partly for the EASM, whereas less skillful predictions were made for the Indian Ocean Dipole(IOD) and North Atlantic SST Tripole, and no clear skill at all for the AO, subtropical IOD, and EAWM. | 4 | Three dimensional velocity structure and accurate earthquake location in Changning–Gongxian area of southeast Sichuan显示文摘In order to understand the crustal structure and tectonic background of the Changning–Gongxiang area, southeastern Sichuan Province, where a series of moderate-to-strong earthquakes occurred in recent years, we utilized the seismic phase data both from a local dense array and from the regional seismic networks;we used the tomoDD program to invert for the high-resolution three-dimensional velocity structure within the depth range of 0–10 km and for accurate hypocentral locations in this area. We analyzed the seismogenic structures for the events of Xingwen M5.7 in 2018 and Gongxian M5.3 and Changning M6.0 in 2019. The results show that:(1) widespread lateral inhomogeneity exists in the velocity structure of the study area, and the location of the velocity anomaly is largely consistent with known structures. In the range of distinguishable depth, the inhomogeneity decreases with increasing depth, and the velocity structure anomalies in some areas are continuous in depth;(2) earthquakes occurred in clusters, showing the characteristics of zonal folding trends in the NW-SE and NE-SW directions;the focal depth in the area is generally shallow in both the sedimentary cap and the crystalline basement. The seismogenic structures of small earthquake clusters are different in size and occurrence in different sections, and the clusters occurred mostly in regions with high P-or S-wave velocities;(3) synthesis of a variety of data suggests that the seismogenic structures of the Xingwen M5.7 and Changning M6.0 earthquakes are associated with slip faults that trend NW-SE in, respectively, the south wing and the axis of the Changning–Shuanghe anticline, while that of the Gongxian M5.3 earthquake is associated with thrust faults that trend N-S in the Jianwu syncline region. | 8 | Dynamic changes in soil chemical properties and microbial community structure in response to different nitrogen fertilizers in an acidified celery soil显示文摘To determine the effects of different kinds of nitrogen fertilizer,especially high-efficiency slowrelease fertilizers,on soil pH,nitrogen(N)and microbial community structures in an acidic celery soil,four treatments(CK,no N fertilizer;NR,urea;PE,calcium cyanamide fertilizer;and SK,controlled-release N fertilizer)were applied,and soil pH,total soil N,inorganic N,and soil microbial biomass C were analyzed.Phospholipid fatty acids(PLFAs)were extracted and detected using the MIDI Sherlock microbial identification system.The PE treatment significantly improved soil pH,from 4.80 to>6.00,during the whole growth period of the celery,and resulted in the highest celery yield among the four treatments.After 14 d application of calcium cyanamide,the soil nitrate content significantly decreased,but the ammonium content significantly increased.The PE treatment also significantly increased soil microbial biomass C during the whole celery growth period.Canonical variate analysis of the PLFA data indicated that the soil microbial community structure in the CK treatment was significantly different from those in the N applied treatments after 49 d fertilization.However,there was a significant difference(P<0.05)in soil microbial community structure between the PE treatment and the other three treatments at the end of the experiment.Calcium cyanamide is a good choice for farmers to use on acidic celery land because it supplies sufficient N,and increases soil pH,microbial biomass and the yield of celery. | Yuping Wu Jiangxing Wu Yongjun Ma Ying Lian Hui Sun Danchao Xie Yaying Li Philip C.Brookes Huaiying Yao | 2019 | Soil Ecology Letters2019,1,3: | 7 |
| 9 | Significance and expression of Bax, Survivin and p53 in gastric carcinoma and precancerous lesions using tissue microarray显示文摘Objective: To explore the relationship between expressions of apoptosis-related protein Bax, Survivin and p53 and the molecular mechanisms of carcinogenesis and progression of gastric carcinoma. Methods: Tissue microarray and immunohistochemistry were used in this study. Results: The positive rate of Bax protein in gastric cancer (17.7%,17/96) was significantly lower than those in adjacent normal mucosa (51%), intestinal metaplasia (69.2%) and dysplasia (75%), P < 0.01. The positive rate of Survivin expression in gastric cancer (80.6%, 89/98) was significantly higher than that in adjacent normal mucosa (3.9%), P < 0.01. The positive rates of Survivin expression in tumors with different organ metastases (in lymph node metastasis 86.2%, liver 100% and ovarian 100%) were statistically higher than in tumors without metastasis (64.3%), P < 0.05. Bax expression was correlated with Survivin but not with mp53 that was closely related to Survivin expression (P < 0.05) in gastric cancer. Conclusion: The abnormal expressions of Bax, Survivin and mp53 were correlated with the tumorigenesis and progression of gastric carcinoma. | 10 | Experimental demonstration of ultra-large-scale terahertz all-dielectric metamaterials显示文摘All-dielectric metamaterials have emerged as a promising platform for low-loss and highly efficient terahertz devices. However, existing fabrication methods have difficulty in achieving a good balance between precision and cost. Here, inspired by the nano-template-assisted self-assembly method, we develop a micro-templateassisted self-assembly(MTAS) method to prepare large-scale, high-precision, and flexible ceramic microsphere all-dielectric metamaterials with an area exceeding 900 cm × 900 cm. Free from organic solvents, vacuum, and complex equipment, the MTAS method ensures low-cost and environmentally friendly fabrication. The ceramic microsphere resonators can be readily assembled into nearly arbitrary arrangements and complex aggregates, such as dimers, trimers, quadrumers, and chains. | 11 | Phosphorus utilization and microbial community in response to lead/iron addition to a waterlogged soil显示文摘Constructed wetlands have emerged as a viable option for helping to solve a wide range of water quality problems. However, heavy metals adsorbed by substrates would decrease the growth of plants, impair the functions of wetlands and eventually result in a failure of contaminant removal. Typha latifolia L., tolerant to heavy metals, has been widely used for phytoremediation of Pb/Zn mine tailings under waterlogged conditions. This study examined effects of iron as ferrous sulfate (100 and 500 mg/kg) and lead as lead nitrate (0, 100, 500 and 1000 mg/kg) on phosphorus utilization and microbial community structure in a constructed wetland. Wetland plants (T. latifolia) were grown for 8 weeks in rhizobags filled with a paddy soil under waterlogged conditions. The results showed that both the amount of iron plaque on the roots and phosphorus adsorbed on the plaque decreased with the amount of lead addition. When the ratio of added iron to lead was 1:1, phosphorus utilized by plants was the maximum. Total amount of phospholipids fatty acids (PLFAs) was 23%–59% higher in the rhizosphere soil than in bulk soil. The relative abundance of Gram-negative bacteria, aerobic bacteria, and methane oxidizing bacteria was also higher in the rhizosphere soil than in bulk soil, but opposite was observed for other bacteria and fungi. | 14 | Monolithic integration of MoS2-based visible detectors and GaN-based UV detectors显示文摘With the increasing demand for high integration and multi-color photodetection for both military and civilian applications, the research of multi-wavelength detectors has become a new research hotspot. However, current research has been mainly in visible dual-or multi-wavelength detectors, while integration of both visible light and ultraviolet(UV) dual-wavelength detectors has rarely been studied. In this work, large-scale and high-quality monolayer MoS2 was grown by the chemical vapor deposition method on transparent free-standing GaN substrate. Monolithic integration of MoS2-based visible detectors and GaN-based UV detectors was demonstrated using common semiconductor fabrication technologies such as photolithography, argon plasma etching, and metal deposition. High performance of a 280 nm and 405 nm dual-wavelength photodetector was realized.The responsivity of the UV detector reached 172.12 A/W, while that of the visible detector reached 17.5 A/W.Meanwhile, both photodetectors achieved high photocurrent gain, high external quantum efficiency, high normalized detection rate, and low noise equivalent power. | 15 | A preliminary investigation on genetic diversity of Sousa chinensis in the Pearl River Estuary and Xiamen of Chinese waters显示文摘In this study, the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) control region and the mitochondrial cytochrome b gene of stranded Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin (Sousa chinensis) samples from the Pearl River Estuary and Xiamen waters were sequenced and analyzed. The result of mtDNA control region revealed 34 variable sites and four unique haplotypes (named as A, B, C and D) identified among the total samples from these two water areas, and the most common haplotype (A) was shared by 75% of the dolphins sampled from the two water areas. The haplotypic diversity (h) was 0.455 and the nucleotide diversity (π) was 0.0088. The phylogenetic analysis showed that the hap- lotype A, C, and D were closely related, but the haplotype B (unique for XM01 from Xiamen) was far from the other three. By scanning cytochrome b fragments, two haplotypes (A and B) were identified in these two water areas, and the most common haplotype (A) was shared by 91.67% individuals, while XM01 from Xiamen as the only exception. | 16 | Estimating soil ammonium adsorption using pedotransfer functions in an irrigation district of the North China Plain显示文摘Extensive use of chemical fertilizers in agriculture can induce high concentration of ammonium nitrogen(NH4^(+)_(-)N) in soil. Desorption and leaching of NH4^(+)_(-)N has led to pollution of natural waters. The adsorption of NH4^(+)_(-)N in soil plays an important role in the fate of the NH4^(+)_(-)N. Understanding the adsorption characteristics of NH4^(+)_(-)N is necessary to ascertain and predict its fate in the soil-water environment, and pedotransfer functions(PTFs) could be a convenient method for quantification of the adsorption parameters. Ammonium nitrogen adsorption capacity, isotherms, and their influencing factors were investigated for various soils in an irrigation district of the North China Plain. Fourteen agricultural soils with three types of texture(silt, silty loam, and sandy loam) were collected from topsoil to perform batch experiments. Silt and silty loam soils had higher NH4^(+)_(-)N adsorption capacity than sandy loam soils.Clay and silt contents significantly affected the adsorption capacity of NH4^(+)_(-)N in the different soils. The adsorption isotherms of NH4^(+)_(-)N in the 14 soils fit well using the Freundlich, Langmuir, and Temkin models. The models’ adsorption parameters were significantly related to soil properties including clay,silt, and organic carbon contents and Fe^(2+) and Fe^(3+) ion concentrations in the groundwater. The PTFs that relate soil and groundwater properties to soil NH4^(+)_(-)N adsorption isotherms were derived using multiple regressions where the coefficients were predicted using the Bayesian method. | 18 | Hidden Phase Space Reconstruction: A Novel Chaotic Time Series Prediction Method for Speech Signals显示文摘Speech signals are nonlinear chaotic time series. This paper proposes a novel speech signal nonlinear prediction model with the hidden phase space reconstruction method. The parameters, embedding dimension m, time delay τ and model structure are solved simultaneously, breaking the restriction of phase space, which needs to be reconstructed before modeling for the existing prediction method. Subsequently, an explicit speech signal prediction model is generated. Meanwhile, the introduction of the frame length parameter k effectively extends the prediction length. Experimental results show that the values of m and τ solved by the proposed method are consistent with the values addressed by the Cao method and mutual information method, respectively. In addition, the optimal value of k is further discussed. | 20 | Multi-population and diffusion UMDA for dynamic multimodal problems显示文摘In dynamic environments,it is important to track changing optimal solutions over time.Univariate marginal distribution algorithm(UMDA) which is a class algorithm of estimation of distribution algorithms attracts more and more attention in recent years.In this paper a new multi-population and diffusion UMDA(MDUMDA) is proposed for dynamic multimodal problems.The multi-population approach is used to locate multiple local optima which are useful to find the global optimal solution quickly to dynamic multimodal problems.The diffusion model is used to increase the diversity in a guided fashion,which makes the neighbor individuals of previous optimal solutions move gradually from the previous optimal solutions and enlarge the search space.This approach uses both the information of current population and the part history information of the optimal solutions.Finally experimental studies on the moving peaks benchmark are carried out to evaluate the proposed algorithm and compare the performance of MDUMDA and multi-population quantum swarm optimization(MQSO) from the literature.The experimental results show that the MDUMDA is effective for the function with moving optimum and can adapt to the dynamic environments rapidly. | Yan Wu Yuping Wang Xiaoxiong Liu Jimin Ye | 2010 | Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2010,21,5: | 3 |
