1Inhibitory effect of Salicornia europaea on the marine alga Skeletonema costatum显示文摘Exploiting the negative biochemical interference between plants and algal species has been suggested as a method to control harmful algal blooms.In this work,we investigated the inhibitory effect of the salt marsh halophyte Salicornia europaea against the marine alga Skeletonema costatum.S.europaea suppressed the growth of S.costatum in a nutrient-sufficient co-culture system,indicating that the inhibition of algal growth was because of the phytotoxic effect of S.europaea,rather than nutrient competition.We tested aqueous and organic extracts from S.europaea roots against S.costatum.The organic extracts inhibited growth and affected the cell size and chlorophyll a content of S.costatum in a dose-dependent manner.Among the three tested organic extracts,the methanol extract had the greatest effects on S.costatum,followed by butanol extract,and then the chloroform extract.Two flavonoids,rutin and quercetin-3-D-glucoside,were identified in the methanol extract by high performance liquid chromatography.The concentration of rutin was much higher than that of quercetin-3-D-glucoside.In an algal bioassay,rutin inhibited the growth of S.costatum and the inhibitory effect increased with increasing rutin concentration and with decreasing initial algal density.Therefore,we concluded that S.europaea negatively affects the growth of S.costatum,and that rutin,a metabolite of S.europaea,may play a role in this inhibitory effect.JIANG Dan HUANG LingFeng LIN YongQing NIE LingLing LV SuLian KUANG TingYun LI YinXin 2012Science China(Life Sciences)2012,55,6:8

14Structure and Function of the Digestive System of Solen Grandis Dunker显示文摘Structure and function of the digestive system of a bivalve mollusc, Solen grandis, were studied using light microscopy and histochemical methods. The wall of digestive tube consists of four layers: the mucosal epithelium, connective tissue, muscular and fibrosa or serosa (only in the portion of rectum) from the inner to the outer. The ciliated columnar epithelial cells, dispersed by cup-shaped mucous cells, rest on a thin base membrane. There are abundant blood spaces in connective tissue layer. The digestive diverticula are composed of multi-branched duct and digestive tubules. The digestive tubules are lined with digestive and basophilic secretory cells, and surrounded by a layer of smooth muscle fibers and connective tissues. Activities of acid and alkaline phosphatases, esterase and lipase are detected in the digestive cells, and the epithelia of stomach and intestine, suggesting that these cells are capable of intracellular digesting of food materials and absorbing.Besides, acid phosphatase and esterase activities are present in the posterior portion of esophagus. Phagocytes are abundant in blood spaces and the lumens of stomach and intestine, containing brown granules derived from the engulfed food materials. The present work indicates that phagocytes play important roles in ingestion and digestion of food materials, which is supported as well by the activities of acid phosphatase, esterase and lipase detected in blood spaces.REN Sulian 2003Journal of Ocean University of Qingdao2003,2,2:0
15Heat Transfer Performance and Structural Optimization of a Novel Micro-channel Heat Sink显示文摘With the advent of the 5G era,the design of electronic equipment is developing towards thinness,intelligence and multi-function,which requires higher cooling performance of the equipment.Micro-channel heat sink is promising for the heat dissipation of super-thin electronic equipment.In this study,thermal resistance theoretical model of the micro-channel heat sink was first established.Then,fabrication process of the micro-channel heat sink was introduced.Subsequently,heat transfer performance of the fabricated micro-channel heat sink was tested through the developed testing platform.Results show that the developed micro-channel heat sink has more superior heat dissipation performance over conventional metal solid heat sink and it is well suited for high power LEDs application.Moreover,the micro-channel structures in the heat sink were optimized by orthogonal test.Based on the orthogonal optimization,heat dissipation performance of the micro-channel radiator was further improved.Jianhua Xiang Liangming Deng Chao Zhou Hongliang Zhao Jiale Huang Sulian Tao 2022Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2022,35,2:0
16Dynamic interactions of an integrated vehicle–electromagnetic energy harvester–tire system subject to uneven road excitations显示文摘An investigation is undertaken of an integrated mechanical-electromagnetic coupling system consisting of a rigid vehicle with heave, roll, and pitch motions, four electromagnetic energy harvesters and four tires subject to uneven road excitations in order to improve the passengers' riding comfort and harvest the lost engine energy due to uneven roads. Following the derived mathematical formulations and the proposed solution approaches, the numerical simulations of this interaction system subject to a continuous sinusoidal road excitation and a single ramp impact are completed. The simulation results are presented as the dynamic response curves in the forms of the frequency spectrum and the time history, which reveals the complex interaction characteristics of the system for vibration reductions and energy harvesting performance. It has addressed the coupling effects on the dynamic characteristics of the integrated system caused by:(1) the natural modes and frequencies of the vehicle;(2) the vehicle rolling and pitching motions;(3) different road excitations on four wheels;(4) the time delay of a road ramp to impact both the front and rear wheels, etc., which cannot be tackled by an often used quarter vehicle model. The guidelines for engineering applications are given. The developed coupling model and the revealed concept provide a means with analysis idea to investigate the details of four energy harvester motions for electromagnetic suspension designs in order to replace the current passive vehicle isolators and to harvest the lost engine energy.
