| 1 | Effects of dietary supplementation of Artemisia argyi aqueous extract on antioxidant indexes of small intestine in broilers显示文摘The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of Artemisia argyi aqueous extract(AAE) on antioxidant indexes in the small intestine. A total of 192 Arbor Acre broiler chickens(one-day-old) were randomly divided into 4 treatments with 6 replicates of 8 chickens. These 4 diets were formulated by adding 0, 500,1,000 and 2,000 mg/kg AAE to the basal diet. The results showed as follows: 1) compared with the control, the total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC) in ileum for the 2,000 mg/kg treatment group was significantly increased at 21 days of age(P < 0.05); the T-AOC levels in jejunum and ileum were significantly increased in broilers supplemented with 500 mg/kg AAE at 42 days of age(P < 0.05), and the T-AOC levels in jejunum and ileum were significantly improved in 1,000 mg/kg treatment group(P < 0.01), 2) At 21 days of age, supplementation of 500 mg/kg AAE significantly increased the catalase(CAT) activity of small intestine, and the glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) activity of jejunum was improved(P < 0.01), meanwhile, the GSH-Px activity of duodenum and the total superoxide dismutase(T-SOD) activity of duodenum and jejunum were significantly higher than those of the control group(P < 0.05); supplementation of 1,000 mg/kg AAE significantly increased the CAT activity of duodenum and ileum and the GSH-Px activity of duodenum and jejunum(P < 0.05), and the ileum GSH-Px activity was significantly increased(P < 0.01); supplementation of 2,000 mg/kg AAE significantly increased the CAT activity of duodenum and ileum(P < 0.05). At 42 days of age, supplementation of 500 mg/kg AAE significantly increased the GSH-Px activity of ileum and the T-SOD activity of duodenum(P < 0.05),meanwhile, the T-SOD activity of jejunum was significantly increased(P < 0.01); supplementation of1,000 mg/kg AAE significantly increased the CAT activity of jejunum and the T-SOD activity of ileum(P < 0.01), and the GSH-Px activity of jejunum was significantly increased(P < 0.05); supplementation of2,000 mg/kg AAE significantly increased the T-SOD activity of ileum(P < 0.05), but significantly decreased the CAT activity of ileum and the GSH-Px activity of jejunum(P < 0.05). 3) The malondialdehyde(MDA) levels of 3 AAE supplementation groups were significantly decreased at 21 and 42 days of age(P < 0.05). | 2 | Current achievements and future prospects in the genetic breeding of chrysanthemum:a review显示文摘Chrysanthemum(Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat.)is a leading flower with applied value worldwide.Developing new chrysanthemum cultivars with novel characteristics such as new flower colors and shapes,plant architectures,flowering times,postharvest quality,and biotic and abiotic stress tolerance in a time-and cost-efficient manner is the ultimate goal for breeders.Various breeding strategies have been employed to improve the aforementioned traits,ranging from conventional techniques,including crossbreeding and mutation breeding,to a series of molecular breeding methods,including transgenic technology,genome editing,and marker-assisted selection(MAS).In addition,the recent extensive advances in high-throughput technologies,especially genomics,transcriptomics,proteomics,metabolomics,and microbiomics,which are collectively referred to as omics platforms,have led to the collection of substantial amounts of data.Integration of these omics data with phenotypic information will enable the identification of genes/pathways responsible for important traits.Several attempts have been made to use emerging molecular and omics methods with the aim of accelerating the breeding of chrysanthemum.However,applying the findings of such studies to practical chrysanthemum breeding remains a considerable challenge,primarily due to the high heterozygosity and polyploidy of the species.This review summarizes the recent achievements in conventional and modern molecular breeding methods and emerging omics technologies and discusses their future applications for improving the agronomic and horticultural characteristics of chrysanthemum. | Jiangshuo Su Jiafu Jiang Fei Zhang Ye Liu Lian Ding Sumei Chen Fadi Chen | 2019 | Horticulture Research2019,6,1: | 13 |
| 3 | Land Use Changes in Northeast China Driven by Human Activities and Climatic Variation显示文摘Human-induced land use/cover change (LUCC) forms an important component of global environmental change. Therefore, it is important to study land use/cover and its change at local, regional and global scales. In this paper we conducted the study of land use change in Northeast China, one of the most important agricultural zones of the nation. From 1986 to 2000, according to the study results obtained from Landsat images, widespread changes in land use/cover took place in the study area. Grassland, marsh, water body and woodland decreased by 9864, 3973, 1367 and 10,052km2, respectively. By comparison, paddy field, dry farmland, and built-up land expanded by 7339, 17193 and 700km2, respectively. Those changes bore an interactive relationship with the environment, especially climate change. On the one hand, climate warming created a potential environment for grassland and marsh to be changed to farmland as more crops could thrive in the warmer climate, and for dry farmland to paddy field. On the other hand, the changed surface cover modified the local climate. Those changes, in turn, have adversely influenced the local environment by accelerating land degradation. | 4 | Oil-source rock correlation and quantitative assessment of Ordovician mixed oils in the Tazhong Uplift, Tarim Basin显示文摘The origin of the marine oils in the Tarim Basin has long been a disputed topic. A total of 58 DST (drill stem test) crude oil and 8 rock samples were investigated using a comprehensive geochemical method to characterize and identify the origin of the Ordovician oils in the Tazhong Uplift, Tarim Basin, northwest China. Detailed oil–oil and oil–source rock correlations show that the majority of the oils have typical biomarker characteristics of the Middle-Upper Ordovician (O2+3) source rock and the related crude oil. These characteristics include a distinct 'V-shaped' relative abundance of C27, C28 and C29 regular steranes, low abundance of dinosterane, 24-norcholestanes, triaromatic dinosteroids and gammacerane. Only a few oils display typical biomarker characteristics indicating the Cambrian–Lower Ordovician (∈-O1) genetic affinity, such as linear or anti 'L' shape distribution of C27, C28 and C29 regular sterane, with relatively high concentrations of dinosterane, 24-norcholestanes, triaromatic dinosteroids and gammacerane. It appears that most of the Ordovician oils in the Tazhong Uplift were derived from the O2+3 intervals, as suggested by previous studies. However, the compound specific n-alkane stable carbon isotope data indicate that the Ordovician oils are mixtures from both the ∈-O1 and O2+3 source rocks rather than from the O2+3 strata alone. It was calculated that the proportion of the∈-O1 genetic affinity oils mixed is about 10.8%-74.1%, with an increasing trend with increasing burial depth. | 5 | Origin of the unusually high dibenzothiophene concentrations in Lower Ordovician oils from the Tazhong Uplift,Tarim Basin,China显示文摘The origin of the unusually high dibenzothiophene (DBT) concentrations in Lower Ordovician oils from the Tazhong Uplift,Tarim Basin was studied by Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR MS).The most abundant sulfur compounds in the oils are S 1 species with doublebond equivalent (DBE) values of 1-19 and 11-48 carbon atoms.The range of the number of carbon atoms in the sulfur compounds detected by the FT-ICR MS (S 1 species with DBE=9) is about ten times larger than that for sulfur compounds detected by GC/MS (DBTs).This suggests that FT-ICR MS is a much better approach than GC/MS for characterization of DBTs in crude oils.The abundance of S 1 species with DBE=1-8 decreased with increasing thermal maturity,while the abundance of S 1 species with DBE=9 (primarily DBTs) increased.Therefore,thermal maturity is an important factor in the formation of oils with high DBT concentrations.Unusually high abundances of S 1 species with low DBE values (1-8),which include sulfide,thiophene and benzothiophene,were observed in several oils,especially the TZ83 (O 1) oil with high or very high thermal maturity.Thermochemical sulfate reduction (TSR) was thought to be the reason for the high abundance of these low DBE compounds in deep reservoirs,and thermochemical sulfate reduction could affect the distribution and composition of DBTs in the oils.According to the results of FT-ICR MS analysis,there are no signs that TSR is occurring or has occurred recently for most of the Lower Ordovician oils. | Li Sumei Pang Xiongqi Shi Quan Zhang Baoshou Zhang Haizu Pan Na Zhao Ming | 2011 | Petroleum Science2011,8,4: | 9 |

| 7 | Functional analysis of alternative splicing of the FLOWERING LOCUS T orthologous gene in Chrysanthemum morifolium显示文摘As the junction of floral development pathways,the FLOWERING LOCUS T(FT)protein called‘florigen’plays an important role in the process of plant flowering through signal integration.We isolated four transcripts encoding different isoforms of a FT orthologous gene CmFTL1,from Chrysanthemum morifolium cultivar‘Jimba’.Sequence alignments suggested that the four transcripts are related to the intron 1.Expression analysis showed that four alternative splicing(AS)forms of CmFTL1 varied depending on the developmental stage of the flower.The functional complement experiment using an Arabidopsis mutant ft-10 revealed that the archetypal and AS forms of CmFTL1 had the function of complementing late flower phenotype in different levels.In addition,transgenic confirmation at transcript level showed CmFTL1 and CmFTL1ast coexist in the same tissue type at the same developmental stage,indicating a post-transcriptional modification of CmFTL1 in Arabidopsis.Moreover,ectopic expression of different AS forms in chrysanthemum resulted in the development of multiple altered phenotypes,varying degrees of early flowering.We found that an alternative splicing form(CmFTL1-astE134)without the exon 2 lacked the ability causing the earlier flower phenotype.The evidence in this study indicates that complex alternative processing of CmFTL1 transcripts in C.morifolium may be associated with flowering regulation and hold some potential for biotechnical engineering to create early-flowering phenotypes in ornamental cultivars. | Yachao Mao Jing Sun Peipei Cao Rong Zhang Qike Fu Sumei Chen Fadi Chen Jiafu Jiang | 2016 | Horticulture Research2016,3,1: | 7 |
| 8 | Reduced inorganic sulfur in the sediments of the Yellow Sea and East China Sea显示文摘Cold diffusion methods are used to separate and quantify the three reduced inorganic sulfur species into acid volatile sulfide(AVS), pyrite–S and element sulfur(ES) in the sediments of the Yellow and East China Seas. The results show that up to 25.02 μmol/g of AVS, 113.1 μmol/g of pyrite–S and 44.4 μmol/g of ES are observed in the sediments of the Yellow Sea and East China Sea. Pyrite–S is the predominant sulfide mineral in the sediments, while the concentration of AVS is quite low at most stations in the study area. The amounts and reactivity of organic matter are the primary limited factor for the sulfide formation, while an iron limitation and a sulfate limitation are not observed in the sediments of the Yellow Sea and East China Sea. | 12 | The Distribution of Dissolved Aluminum in the Yellow and East China Seas显示文摘Water samples containing dissolved aluminum were collected from the Yellow and East China Seas in Octo- ber-November 2000. The average concentrations of dissolved Al in the Yellow Sea (YS) and East China Sea (ECS) were 0.042 and 0.056 μmolL-1, respectively. The concentration of dissolved aluminum decreased gradually across the continental shelf. The lower concentrations appeared in the YS cold water center and in the bottom layer at the shelf edge of the ECS, where they were 0.016 and 0.011 μmolL-1, respectively. The distribution of dissolved Al was controlled by physical mixing processes rather than biological up- take processes. The impact of different water masses along the PN transect was calculated based on the mass balance model. The results show that the impact of the Changjiang River was mainly concentrated on the coastal area and the top thermocline water on the ECS shelf, where the impact percentage decreased from 12.6% to 1.1% in the surface water, while the contribution of the Ku- roshio water was dominant on the ECS shelf in this survey, increasing from 77.6% to 97.8% along the PN transect from the Changjiang River Estuary to the Ryukyu Islands. | 13 | The biogeochemical behavior of dissolved aluminum in the southern Yellow Sea:Influence of the spring phytoplankton bloom显示文摘Many recent studies have investigated the nutrient-type profiles of dissolved aluminum(Al) in the ocean.Significant scavenging of dissolved Al can occur during phytoplankton blooms,but the mechanism remains unclear.The distribution of dissolved Al in the southern Yellow Sea(SYS) was investigated in winter and spring 2009.Following measurements at grid stations during the spring sampling cruise,two drifting anchor surveys of more than 100 h were conducted to trace the variation of dissolved Al concentration during the spring phytoplankton bloom(SPB).The concentration of dissolved Al in the SYS decreased from 40 nmol/L in February to 30 nmol/L in March and 10-20 nmol/L in April,while the concentration of Chl a increased from < 2 μg/L in March to > 4 μg/L in April.The concentration of dissolved Al in the SYS decreased significantly with the development of the phytoplankton bloom,which indicated biological scavenging of dissolved Al from water column.The proportion of dissolved Al scavenged from water column by different phytoplankton species differed at the two drifting stations,with greater removal efficiency demonstrated by diatoms than dinoflagellates.Phytoplankton samples collected from the Chl a maximum layer were washed with trace metal clean reagent(oxalate-EDTA-citrate,abbreviate as oxalate solution,Tovar-Sanchez et al.,2003) to enable the surface-scavenged(extracellular) and intracellular Al pools associated with phytoplankton to be differentiated.Thirty-nine to ninetysix percent of the total Al was found to be existed in the interior pools,which indicated that biological absorption was the important way to scavenge dissolved Al during phytoplankton blooms in the SYS. | LI FaMing REN JingLing YAN Li LIU SuMei LIU ChengGang ZHOU Feng ZHANG Jing | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,2: | 4 |

| 16 | Dye-sensitized Solar Cells with Higher J_(sc) by Using Polyvinylidene Fluoride Membrane Counter Electrodes显示文摘A flexible counter electrode(CE) for dye-sensitized solar cells(DSCs) has been fabricated using a micro-porous polyvinylidene fluoride membrane as support media and sputtered Pt as the catalytic material.Non-conventional structure DSCs have been developed by the fabricated CEs. The Pt metal was sputtered onto one surface of the membrane as the catalytic material. DSCs were assembled by attaching the Ti O2 electrode to the membrane surface without Pt coating. The membrane was with cylindrical pore geometry. It served not only as a substrate for the CE but also as a spacer for the DSC. The fabricated DSC with the flexible membrane CE showed higher photocurrent density than the conventional sandwich devices based on chemically deposited Pt/FTO glass, achieving a photovoltaic conversion efficiency of 4.43%. | 18 | Distribution of Dissolved Inorganic Arsenic and Its Seasonal Variations in the Coastal Area of the East China Sea显示文摘Water samples were collected in the coastal area of the Changjiang Estuary on four cruises from August 2002 to May 2003. The seasonal variations of dissolved inorganic arsenic (DIAs) distributions were analyzed. The results showed that the distributions of DIAs were mainly influenced by the terrestrial input and the intrusion of the Kuroshio Subsurface Water (KSSW). The concentration of the total dissolved inorganic arsenic (TDIAs) decreased consecutively from winter to summer, while it increased in autumn. The distributions of TDIAs showed some relationships with salinity and suspended particulate matter (SPM). The relationships between DIAs speciation (including arsenite [As(Ⅲ)] and arsenate [As(Ⅴ)]), biological activity and the availabilities of the phosphate were investigated in the study area for the cruise August 2002. The ratio of As (Ⅲ)/TDIAs increased with the decrease of phosphate concentrations. In the bottom water, the As(Ⅲ)/TDIAs ratio decreased with the increasing of N/P. The concentration of TDIAs decreased 28.7% approximately after the occurrence of harmful algal blooms (HAB) because of the uptake of arsenate by algae. | 19 | Historic changes in flux of matter and nutrient budgets in the Bohai Sea显示文摘Over the past four periods (1959-1960,1982-1983,1992-1993,and 1998-1999),the ecosystem of the Bohai Sea changed due to both a significant decrease of river water discharge from the Huanghe River and a reduction of precipitation. The shifts in nutrient chemistry could result in changes in the phytoplankton composition with an increased potential for non-diatom algal blooms. Simple box model was used to estimate the water-mass balance and nutrient budgets for the Bohai Sea. Water budgets indicate that the residual flow changed from out of the Bohai Sea before 1993,but became inflow to the Bohai Sea after then. The nutrient budgets developed indicate that the Bohai Sea was a sink for nutrients except for phosphate in 1959-1960 and 1982-1983 and for silicate in 1982-1983. Net water flow transports nutrients out of the Bohai Sea in 1959-1960,1982-1983 and 1992-1993,but into the sea in 1998-1999 due to climate changes,such as precipitation and subsequent freshwater discharge. The residual fluxes of nutrients are minor relative to atmospheric deposition and riverine inputs. Conversions of phosphate values to carbon by stoichiometric ratios were used to predict that the system was net heterotrophic before 1982-1983 and net autotrophic after then. | 20 | Rho-associated protein kinase modulates neurite extension by regulating microtubule remodeling and vinculin distribution显示文摘Rho-associated protein kinase is an essential regulator of cytoskeletal dynamics during the process of neurite extension.However,whether Rho kinase regulates microtubule remodeling or the distribution of adhesive proteins to mediate neurite outgrowth remains unclear.By specifically modulating Rho kinase activity with pharmacological agents,we studied the morpho-dynamics of neurite outgrowth.We found that lysophosphatidic acid,an activator of Rho kinase,inhibited neurite outgrowth,which could be reversed by Y-27632,an inhibitor of Rho kinase.Meanwhile,reorganization of microtubules was noticed during these processes,as indicated by their significant changes in the soma and growth cone.In addition,exposure to lysophosphatidic acid led to a decreased membrane distribution of vinculin,a focal adhesion protein in neurons,whereas Y-27632 recruited vinculin to the membrane.Taken together,our data suggest that Rho kinase regulates rat hippocampal neurite growth and microtubule formation via a mechanism associated with the redistribution of vinculin. | Ke'en Chen Wenbin Zhang Jing Chen Sumei Li Guoqing Guo | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,32: | 3 |
