Comparative Analysis of Leaf Trichomes, Epidermal Wax And Defense Enzymes Activities in Response to Puccinia horiana in Chrysanthemum and Ajania Species显示文摘White rust caused by Puccinia horiana is a destructive disease of chrysanthemum plants. To better understand the resistance mechanisms of composite species to this disease, the leaf cuticular traits, antioxidant and defensive enzymes activities of immune(Chrysanthemum makinoi var.wakasaense)and highly susceptible(Ajania shiwogiku var.kinokuniense)species were compared.Trichome density of two species was markedly different, negatively associated with plant resistance to P.horiana.Total wax load in C.makinoi var.wakasaense was two times more than that in A.shiwogiku var.kinokuniense.The wax composition in immune one was abundant in esters and primary alcohols.Superoxide dismutase(SOD,EC 1.15.1.1),peroxidase(POD,EC 1.11.1.7),polyphenoloxidase(PPO,EC 1.14.18.1 or EC 1.10.3.2)and phenylalanine ammonia lyase(PAL,EC 4.3.1.5)activitieswere investigated. In C.makinoi var.wakasaense, the activity of SOD and POD increased rapidly after inoculation, whichmight be non-host induced reactive oxygen species(ROS)activated antioxidant enzymes, however SOD and POD remained a low and steady level in the highly susceptible one after inoculation.Quick increase in PPO activities after inoculation was observed in both species, however it remained higher in C.makinoi var.wakasaense at the late period of inoculation.PAL in C.makinoi var.wakasaense was induced after pathogen inoculation, but not in A.shiwogiku var.kinokuniense, suggesting that these two enzymes might contribute to the resistance to P.horiana. | Yinjie Wang Jun Zeng Xiaolong Xia Yang Xu Jing Sun Jing Gu Hainan Sun Haini Lei Fadi Chen Jiafu Jiang Weiming Fang Sumei Chen | 2020 | Horticultural Plant Journal2020,6,3: | 8
Wearable skin-like optoelectronic systems with suppression of motion artifacts for cuff-less continuous blood pressure monitor显示文摘According to the statistics of the World Health Organization,an estimated 17.9 million people die from cardiovascular diseases each year, representing 31%of all global deaths.Continuous non-invasive arterial pressure(CNAP)is essential for the management of cardiovascular diseases. However,it is difficult to achieve long-term CNAP monitoring with the daily use of current devices due to irritation of the skin as well as the lack of motion artifacts suppression. Here,we report a high-performance skin-like optoelectronic system integrated with ultra-thin flexible circuits to monitor CNAP.We introduce a theoretical model via the virtual work principle for predicting the precise blood pressure and suppressing motion artifacts, and propose optical difference in the frequency domain for stable optical measurements in terms of skin-like devices. We compare the results with the blood pressure acquired by invasive(intra-arterial)blood pressure monitoring for>1500 min in total on 44 subjects in an intensive care unit. The maximum absolute errors of diastolic and systolic blood pressure were±7/±10 mm Hg,respectively,in immobilized,and±10/±14 mm Hg,respectively,in walking scenarios. These strategies provide advanced blood pressure monitoring techniques, which would directly address an unmet clinical need or daily use for a highly vulnerable population. | Haicheng Li Yinji Ma Ziwei Liang Zhouheng Wang Yu Cao Yuan Xu Hua Zhou Bingwei Lu Ying Chen Zhiyuan Han Shisheng Cai Xue Feng | 2020 | National Science Review2020,7,5: | 7
Review on flexible photonics/electronics integrated devices and fabrication strategy显示文摘In recent years, to meet the greater demand for next generation electronic devices that are transplantable, lightweight and portable, flexible and large-scale integrated electronics attract much more attention have been of interest in both industry and academia. Organic electronics and stretchable inorganic electronics are the two major branches of flexible electronics. With the semiconductive and flexible properties of the organic semiconductor materials, flexible organic electronics have become a mainstay of our technology.Compared to organic electronics, stretchable and flexible inorganic electronics are fabricated via mechanical design with inorganic electronic components on flexible substrates, which have stretchability and flexibility to enable very large deformations without degradation of performance. This review summarizes the recent progress on fabrication strategies, such as hydrodynamic organic nanowire printing and inkjet-assisted nanotransfer printing of flexible organic electronics, and screen printing, soft lithography and transfer printing of flexible inorganic electronics. In addition, this review considers large-scale organic and inorganic flexible electronic systems and the future applications of flexible and stretchable electronics. | Shisheng CAI Zhiyuan HAN Fengle WANG Kunwei ZHENG Yu CAO Yinji MA Xue FENG | 2018 | Science China(Information Sciences)2018,61,6: | 6
Overexpression of CmMYB15 provides chrysanthemum resistance to aphids by regulating the biosynthesis of lignin显示文摘MYB transcription factors are widely involved in the development of and physiological processes in plants. Here,we isolated the chrysanthemum R2R3-MYB family transcription factor CmMYB15,a homologous gene of AtMYB15.It was demonstrated that CmMYB15 expression was induced by aphids and that CmMYB15 could bind to AC elements, which usually exist in the promoter of lignin biosynthesis genes.Overexpression of CmMYB15 in chrysanthemum enhanced the resistance of aphids.Additionally, the content of lignin and the expression of several lignin biosynthesis genes increased. In summary, the results indicate that CmMYB15 regulates lignin biosynthesis genes that enhance the resistance of chrysanthemum to aphids. | Cong An Liping Sheng Xinping Du Yinjie Wang Yi Zhang Aiping Song Jiafu Jiang Zhiyong Guan Weimin Fang Fadi Chen Sumei Chen | 2019 | Horticulture Research2019,6,1: | 6
A flexible skin-mounted wireless acoustic device for bowel sounds monitoring and evaluation显示文摘Conventional methods of intestinal inspection play an essential role in the assessment of bowel diseases and other relevant health issues, yet fail to obtain intestinal conditions in real time because of radiation limits and operation inconvenience. Herein, a flexible, skin-mounted device is developed for longterm, real-time monitoring, and for the evaluation of bowel sounds based on the integration of a threedimensional printed elastomeric resonator with flexible electronics. The device is capable of being flexibly attached to abdominal surfaces without performance degradation during breathing. Clinical tests conduct in a normal volunteer and in patients with mechanical intestinal obstruction or paralytic ileus illustrate the usefulness of the device in capturing the characteristics of bowel sounds. Furthermore, a demonstration of collection and classification of bowel sounds by the flexible device based on machine learning methods can serve as a reference for possible applications of the system in the auxiliary diagnosis of bowel problems. | Fengle WANG Dong WU Peng JIN Yingchao ZHANG Yingyun YANG Yinji MA Aiming YANG Ji FU Xue FENG | 2019 | Science China(Information Sciences)2019,62,10: | 5
Reference Gene Selection for qRT-PCR Normalization in Iris germanica L.显示文摘Quantitative real-time PCR(qPCR)is an effective and widely used method to analyze expression patterns of target genes.Selection of stable reference genes is a prerequisite for accurate normalization of target gene expression by qRT-PCR.In Iris germanica L.,no studies have yet been published regarding the evaluation of potential reference genes. In this study, nine candidate reference genes were assessed at different flower developmental stages and in different tissues by four different algorithms(GeNorm,NormFinder,BestKeeper, and RefFinder). The results revealed that ACT11(Actin 11)and EF1α(Elongation factor 1 alpha)were the most stable reference genes in different tissues, whereas TUA(Tubulin alpha)and UBC9(Ubiquitin-protein ligase 9)were the most stable ones in different flower developmental stages.UBC9 and ACT11 were the most stable reference genes in all of the tested samples, while the SAMDC(S-Adenosylmethionine decarboxylase)showed the least stability. Finally,to validate the suitability of the selected reference genes, the relative expression level of IgTPS(beta-caryophyllene synthase)was assessed and highlighted the importance of suitable reference gene selection. This work constitutes the first systematic evaluation of potential reference genes in I.germanica and provides guidelines for future research on gene function and molecular mechanisms on I.germanica and related species. | Yinjie Wang Yongxia Zhang Qingquan Liu Liangqin Liu Suzhen Huang Haiyan Yuan | 2021 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2021,90,1: | 3
The chromosome-level Stevia genome provides insights into steviol glycoside biosynthesis显示文摘Stevia(Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni)is well known for its very sweet steviol glycosides(SGs)consisting of a common tetracyclic diterpenoid steviol backbone and a variable glycone.Steviol glycosides are 150–300 times sweeter than sucrose and are used as natural zero-calorie sweeteners. However, the most promising compounds are biosynthesized in small amounts.Based on Illumina,PacBio,and Hi-C sequencing,we constructed a chromosome-level assembly of Stevia covering 1416 Mb with a contig N50 value of 616.85 kb and a scaffold N50 value of 106.55 Mb.More than four-fifths of the Stevia genome consisted of repetitive elements. We annotated 44,143 high-confidence protein-coding genes in the high-quality genome.Genome evolution analysis suggested that Stevia and sunflower diverged~29.4 million years ago(Mya),shortly after the whole-genome duplication(WGD)event(WGD-2,~32.1 Mya)that occurred in their common ancestor.Comparative genomic analysis revealed that the expanded genes in Stevia were mainly enriched for biosynthesis of specialized metabolites, especially biosynthesis of terpenoid backbones, and for further oxidation and glycosylation of these compounds. We further identified all candidate genes involved in SG biosynthesis.Collectively, our current findings on the Stevia reference genome will be very helpful for dissecting the evolutionary history of Stevia and for discovering novel genes contributing to SG biosynthesis and other important agronomic traits in future breeding programs. | Xiaoyang Xu Haiyan Yuan Xiaqing Yu Suzhen Huang Yuming Sun Ting Zhang Qingquan Liu Haiying Tong Yongxia Zhang Yinjie Wang Chunxiao Liu Lei Wu Menglan Hou Yongheng Yang | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 2
Pressure-induced amorphous zeolitic imidazole frameworks with reduced toxicity and increased tumor accumulation improves therapeutic efficacy In vivo显示文摘Zeolitic Imidazole Frameworks(ZIFs)are widely applied in nanomedicine for their high drug loading, suitable pore size,pH-responsive drug release, and so on.However, fast drug release during circulation, unexpected toxicity to mice major organs, undesirable long-term accumulation in the lung and even death currently hinder their in vivo biomedical applications.Herein,we report an amorphous ZIF-8(aZIF-8)with high loading of 5-Fu through pressure-induced amorphization. This nano-system avoids early drug release during circulation and provides tumor microenvironment-responsive drug release with improved in vitro cell viability, and survival rate in in vivo evaluations as compared to ZIF-8.Furthermore,aZIF-8 shows longer blood circulation and lower lung accumulation than ZIF-8 at same injected doses.Less drug release during circulation, longer blood circulation, and better biocompatibility of aZIF-8/5-Fu significantly improves its therapeutic efficacy in ECA-109 tumorbearing mouse, and result in 100%survival rate over 50 days after treatment.Therefore,aZIF-8 with favorable biocompatibility and long blood circulation is expected to be a promising nano-system for efficacious cancer therapy in vivo. | Zhenqi Jiang Yanying Li Zhenni Wei Bo Yuan Yinjie Wang Ozioma Udochukwu Akakuru Yong Li Juan Li Aiguo Wu | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,3: | 1

Epidermal radio frequency electronics for wireless power transfer显示文摘Epidermal electronic systems feature physical properties that approximate those of the skin,to enable intimate,long-lived skin interfaces for physiological measurements, human–machine interfaces and other applications that cannot be addressed by wearable hardware that is commercially available today.A primary challenge is power supply;the physical bulk, large mass and high mechanical modulus associated with conventional battery technologies can hinder efforts to achieve epidermal characteristics, and near-field power transfer schemes offer only a limited operating distance. Here we introduce an epidermal, farfield radio frequency(RF)power harvester built using a modularized collection of ultrathin antennas, rectifiers and voltage doublers. These components, separately fabricated and tested, can be integrated together via methods involving soft contact lamination.Systematic studies of the individual components and the overall performance in various dielectric environments highlight the key operational features of these systems and strategies for their optimization. The results suggest robust capabilities for battery-free RF power, with relevance to many emerging epidermal technologies. | Xian Huang Yuhao Liu Gil Woo Kong Jung Hun Seo Yinji Ma Kyung-In Jang Jonathan A.Fan Shimin Mao Qiwen Chen Daizhen Li Hank Liu Chuxuan Wang Dwipayan Patnaik Limei Tian Giovanni A.Salvatore Xue Feng Zhenqiang Ma Yonggang Huang John A.Rogers | 2016 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2016,2,1: | 1
Effects of extracts from soothing-liver and invigorating-spleen formulas on the injury induced by oxidative stress in the hepatocytes of rats with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease induced by high-fat diet显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate effects of the extracts from soothing-liver and invigorating-spleen formulas on the injury due to oxidative stress, mediated by the Nuclear factor-like 2(Nrf2)-Antioxidant response element(ARE) pathway,in the hepatocytes of rats with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) induced by high-fat diet.METHODS:Soothing-liver and invigorating-spleen formula mixtures were prepared for five groups:normal,model,soothing-liver formula group(SLG),invigorating-spleen formula group(ISG),integrated formula group(IG).The rat model of NAFLD was induced by feeding rats a high-fat diet(HFD).After 16 weeks, the hepatic tissue was examined following Haematoxylin-Eosin(H&E) staining and with Transmission electron microscopy(TEM).Levels of hepatic lipids, serum lipids and hepatic functions were measured using a biochemical analyser.Hepatocytes were isolated from the livers of rats and were identified by cellar immunohistochemistry, cellular immunofluorescence and flow cytometry. The expression levels of Nrf2,Kelch-like epichlorohydrin-associated protein 1(Keap-1),haeme oxygenase-1(HO-1) and NAD(P)H:quinone oxidoreductase 1(NQO1) m RNAs were assessed by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR.Nrf2,Keap-1,HO-1 and NQO1 proteins were measured by Western blotting. Finally, the levels of oxidative stress factors Superoxide Dismutase(SOD),malonaldehyde(MDA) and Glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) in hepatocytes were measured by WST-1,TBA and colorimetry.RESULTS:The H & E and TEM results showed that the NAFLD model rats successfully reproduced typical pathogenetic and histopathological features. The liver function and levels of hepatic lipids and serum lipids from the model rats were dramatically increased.Compared with the model group, the levels of hepatic lipids, serum lipids and hepatic function in the treatment groups were ameliorated to different degrees. The yields of purified hepatocytes in each rat were 4-5 × 108.The viability of the isolated hepatocytes was higher than 95%,with a purity over 93.2%.Cellular immunohistochemistry analysis showed that the hepatocytes were brown, while in the cellular immunofluorescence analysis, the hepatocytes showed green fluorescence. The expression levels of Nrf2,Keap-1,HO-1 and NQO1 m RNA and protein in the hepatocytes were significantly higher in the model group than in the normal group(P < 0.05,P < 0.01).Compared with the model group, the expression of Nrf2,Keap-1,HO-1 and NQO-1 m RNAs and proteins in all treatment groups increased, especially in the IG(P < 0.01).CONCLUSION:The extracts from soothing-liver and invigorating-spleen formulas may protect the liver against the injury induced by oxidative stress in hepatocytes by influencing the Nrf2-ARE pathway, which may be the mechanism having the potential for prevention and treatment of NAFLD. | Tu Guifang Gong Xiangwen Yang Qinhe Li Yuanyuan Wang Guanlong Liang Yinji Zhang Yupei Yan Haizhen Lin Chunmei Zhang Jinwen | 2018 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2018,38,4: | 1

The evaluation of voting rules based on voting networks:Weber problem with support domain显示文摘This study focuses on improving the Weber model to obtain a more optimised solution, by whichwe can measure effectively the quality of the voting rules. By introducing the voter’s supportingdomain and the candidate’s supported degree to depict the emotional factors of voters and thereal voting network, we propose the concept of validity for a candidate. Upon the traditionalWeber model, two improved models are presented and the corresponding global optimal candidateis used as the evaluation benchmark for the voting rules. The experiments show that theoptimal solution of the two models has better robustness in complex voting networks, can beused as a standard to evaluate the voting rules. When the support degree of voter is the mainfactor, the Condorcet rule is optimal in most cases, and when the validity of the candidate is takenas the main factor, the Approval rule must be the best. | Chunxiang Guo Yinjie Zhang Ruili Shi Dongzhi Wang | 2021 | Journal of Control and Decision2021,8,4: | 0
Lignin biosynthesis and accumulation in response to abiotic stresses in woody plants显示文摘Woody plants have to experience various abiotic stresses due to their immobility and perennial characteristics. However, woody plants have evolved a series of specific regulation pathways in physiological and molecular mechanisms to deal with adverse environments.Compared with herbaceous plants, perennial woody plants have the advantages of developed roots and hard stems, and increased secondary xylem, which can strengthen the vascular system of the plants. The lignification process involves the lignin deposition on the cell wall by oxidation and polymerization of lignin monomer, which plays an important role in abiotic stress tolerance. This review focuses on recent progress in the biosynthesis, content, and accumulation of lignin in response to various abiotic stresses in plants. The role of transcription factors is also discussed in regulating lignin biosynthesis to enhance abiotic stress tolerance via changing cell wall lignification.Although woody plants shared similar lignin biosynthesis mechanisms with herbaceous plants, the temporal and spatial expression and stress response profiles of lignin biosynthetic genes provide the basis for the differences in stress tolerance of various species. An in-depth understanding of the role of lignin in the abiotic stress tolerance of woody plants will lay the foundation for the next step in tree resistance breeding through genetic engineering. | Xiaojiao Han Yanqiu Zhao Yinjie Chen Jing Xu Cheng Jiang Xiaqin Wang Renying Zhuo Meng-Zhu Lu Jin Zhang | 2022 | Forestry Research2022,2,1: | 0
