1Increased mtDNA copy number promotes cancer progression by enhancing mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer显示文摘Colorectal cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer death worldwide.According to global genomic status,colorectal cancer can be classified into two main types:microsatellite-stable and microsatellite-instable tumors.Moreover,the two subtypes also exhibit different responses to chemotherapeutic agents through distinctive molecular mechanisms.Recently,mitochondrial DNA depletion has been shown to induce apoptotic resistance in microsatellite-instable colorectal cancer.However,the effects of altered mitochondrial DNA copy number on the progression of microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer,which accounts for the majority of colorectal cancer,remain unclear.In this study,we systematically investigated the functional role of altered mitochondrial DNA copy number in the survival and metastasis of microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer cells.Moreover,the underlying molecular mechanisms were also explored.Our results demonstrated that increased mitochondrial DNA copy number by forced mitochondrial transcription factor A expression significantly facilitated cell proliferation and inhibited apoptosis of microsatellitestable colorectal cancer cells both in vitro and in vivo.Moreover,we demonstrated that increased mitochondrial DNA copy number enhanced the metastasis of microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer cells.Mechanistically,the survival advantage conferred by increased mitochondrial DNA copy number was caused in large part by elevated mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation.Furthermore,treatment with oligomycin significantly suppressed the survival and metastasis of microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer cells with increased mitochondrial DNA copy number.Our study provides evidence supporting a possible tumor-promoting role for mitochondrial DNA and uncovers the underlying mechanism,which suggests a potential novel therapeutic target for microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer.Xiacheng Sun Lei Zhan Yibing Chen Gang Wang Linjie He Qian Wang Feng Zhou Fang Yang Jin Wu Yousheng Wu Jinliang Xing Xianli He Qichao Huang 2018Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2018,3,1:3
2Application of biologic silicon in modern sedimentary section to reconstruction of phytoplankton changes in the East China Sea and the Huanghai Sea during last 200 years显示文摘Biomarkers had been widely used to reconstruct phytoplankton productivity,and this method was applied in the East China Sea and the Huanghai Sea (Yellow Sea).In this study,Biologic Silicon (BSi) was used as productivity proxy to reconstruct productivity change of phytoplankton during last 200 years.The results show that the BSi contents of surficial sediments were in the range of 0.018%-2.516%,averaging 0.726%,and had a similar variation trend with phytoplankton biomass.The vertical distribution profiles revealed that BSi contents were relatively stable,in accordance with the variations of the contemporary phytoplankton standing crop index.According to the stability analysis of BSi in sediments,BSi was not degradaded for the past two hundred years and remained in sediments steadily.Thus,BSi in sediments had the potential to invert paleoproductivity.To conduct further survey,the linear regression equation between BSi contents and phytoplankton biomass index could be used to calculate the phytoplankton productivity by BSi,so that paleoproductivity may be reconstructed during last 200 years.YANG Qian SONG Xianli SUN Yao HUANG Jiansheng 2012Acta Oceanologica Sinica2012,31,2:2
3Two-phase anaerobic co-digestion of dairy manure with swine manure显示文摘In order to solve the problems associated with high fiber content,and the ensuing lower biogas volume yield in anaerobic digestion of dairy manure,a study of the co-digestion of separated liquids from dairy manure combined with swine manure using a two-phase anaerobic digestion process was conducted.The influence of level of total solids(TS)and hydraulic retention time(HRT)of the mixed liquor on the specific methane production were studied.Three TS levels 8%,10%and 12%were investigated.Analysis of the results show that a maximum specific methane yield of 132.99 L/kg volatile solids(VS),can be obtained with a TS of 9%,an inoculation rate of 30%,the duration of hydrolytic acidification phase of 5 d,and an HRT of the methanogenic phase of 10 d.These findings could provide directions for improving the biogas production by performing the co-digestion of dairy manure with swine manure.Guan Zhengjun Sun Xianli Bi Lanping Li Wenzhe Zhang Ying Wang Zhigang 2016International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,2:1

6Innovative hydrophobic/hydrophilic perfluoropolyether(PFPE)/polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)composite membrane for vacuum membrane distillation显示文摘Though membrane distillation(MD)has gained more and more attention in the field of desalination,the wetting phenomenon was still a non-negligible problem.In this work,a method combined dip-coating and UV in situ polymerization for preparing hydrophobic/hydrophilic perfluoropolyether(PFPE)/polyvinylidene fluoride composite membranes.This composite membrane consisted of a top thin hydrophobic coating layer and hydrophilic substrate membrane.In terms of anti-wetting properties,contact angle and liquid entry pressure of all composite membranes(except for those based on 0.45μm)exceeded 160°and 0.3 MPa,respectively.In particular,the desalination performance was tested in vacuum membrane distillation tests by feeding 3.5%(mass)saline solution(NaCl)at 60℃.The composite membranes with larger support pore size and lower PFPE content had higher membrane distillation flux.And for stability tests(testing the 0.22μm membrane coated by 5%(mass)PFPE),the highest MD flux29.08 kg·m^(-2)·h^(-1) and stable salt rejection(over 99.99%)during the period.Except that,the effects of coating material concentration and pore sizes of substrate membrane were also investigated for surface morphology and topography,porosity,mechanical strength and pore size characteristics.This work provided a simple and effective alternative to prepare excellent hydrophobic composite membranes for MD applications.Jun Pan Xianli Xu Zhaohui Wang Shi-Peng Sun Zhaoliang Cui Lassaad Gzara Iqbal Ahmed Omar Bamaga Mohammed Albeirutty Enrico Drioli 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,5:1
7Key factors governing alkaline pretreatment of waste activated sludge显示文摘Alkaline pretreatment is an effective technology to disintegrate sewage sludge, where alkali dosage and sludge concentration are two important factors. p H value or alkali concentration is usually adjusted in order to determine a proper dosage of alkali. Our work has found that this is not a good strategy. A new parameter, the ratio of alkali to sludge(Ra/s), is more sensitive in controlling the alkali dosage. The sludge concentration Csand retention time t are two other important factors to consider. The validity of these arguments is confirmed with modeling and experiments. The individual effect of Ra/s, Csand t was studied separately. Then the combined effect of these three factors was evaluated. The sludge disintegration degree of 44.7% was achieved with the optimized factors. Furthermore, an alkaline-microwave combined pretreatment process was carried out under these optimized conditions. 8For more and purer hydrogen-the progress and challenges in water gas shift reaction显示文摘The water gas shift(WGS) reaction is a standard reaction that is widely used in industrial hydrogen production and removal of carbon monoxide. The improved catalytic performance of WGS reaction also contributes to ammonia synthesis and other reactions. Advanced catalysts have been developed for both high and low-temperature reactions and are widely used in industry. In recent years, supported metal nanoparticle catalysts have been researched due to their high metal utilization. Low-temperature catalysts have shown promising results, including high selectivity, high shift rates, and higher activity potential. Additionally, significant progress has been made in removing trace CO through the redox reaction in electrolytic cell. This paper reviews the development of WGS reaction catalysts, including the reaction mechanism, catalyst design, and innovative research methods. The catalyst plays a crucial role in the WGS reaction, and this paper provides an instant of catalyst design under different conditions. The progress of catalysts is closely related to the development of advanced characterization techniques.Furthermore, modifying the catalyst surface to enhance activity and significantly increase reaction kinetics is a current research direction. 9Exotic Behavior of Elastic Scattering Differential Cross Sections of Weakly Bound Nucleus ^(17)F at Small Angels显示文摘The experiment of measuring the differential cross sections dσ/dθat forward angles for the elastically scattered 17F (141 MeV) and 17O (128 MeV) on the 208Pb target has been carried out at the Radioactive Ion Beam Line in Lanzhou (RIBLL). Fig. 1 shows the plots of In(dσ/dθ) versusθ2 for 17F (right panel) and 17O (left panel). The dependence of the ln(dσ/dθ) onθ2 shows quite different behaviors for the two nuclei. 13Dredging hand Yang meridians with deep tissue massage combined with neck movement in stiff-neck syndrome:A randomized controlled trial显示文摘Objective:The objective of this study is to observe the therapeutic effects of dredging hand Yang meridian with deep tissue massage combined with neck movement on stiff-neck syndrome.Materials and Methods:This is a randomized controlled trial.The consecutive patients with the stiff-neck syndrome were randomly allocated into the intervention group and patch group(1:1)according to the random number table.The intervention group was treated with dredging hand Yang meridian with deep tissue massage combined with neck movement once a day for 3 days,while the patch group therapy was treated with a 3-patch therapy and every patch included 24-h patch and 24-h patch-free.A needle electromyogram would be exerted if the patients were at their willingness in different stages.The pain of patients was assessed by Visual Analog Scale in the two groups at every 24 h time point.Results:Finally,212 patients completed the trial,106 in each group.The curative rate in the intervention group was higher than in the patch group(99.06%vs.84.91%,χ^(2)=0.890,P<0.01).Repeated measures of the general linear model showed a significant difference in pain score within the subject-factors(factor of time F=4548.577,P<0.001;factor of time-group F=490.034,P<0.001).There was a significant difference between groups regarding pain score(F=3016.315,P<0.001).Conclusion:Dredging hand Yang meridian with deep tissue massage combined with neck movement is better than patch therapy in stiff-neck syndrome,with a shorter duration and instant effects.Xueguo SUN Zonghua QI Ying LIU Yan LI Xianli DOU Lingyun ZHANG 2022Journal of Integrative Nursing2022,4,4:0
14Performance Test of LASCAR Scintillator Detector Array at RIBLL显示文摘The LASCAR (Large Area Scattering Chamber at PABLL) scintillator detector array is developed to detect neutrons and charged particles from the reaction induced by, the RIBs from RIBLL. It consists of 8 scintillator plus light guide blocks. As shown in Fig.l, each block matches with 49 photomultipliers (PMTs) of 9214SB type from Electron Tubes Limited. 15Design of Multi-unit Control System of High Voltage Power Supply for LASCAR Scintillator Detector Array显示文摘The power voltages of Photomultipliers (PMTs) at RIBLL LASCAR scintillator detector array are distributed between 900 V and 1 800 V irregularly. 392 CC123 modules are employed to supply high voltage for the PMT array. The CC123 module serves as PMT interface groupware package, and it can transform +12 V DC input voltage to ranges of 0~-2200 V for the PMT power supply corresponding to 0~+5 V output voltage from the control board crate. 16Microvascular Changes in the Retrobulbar Optic Nerve in Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension显示文摘Purpose : To examine the microvascular changes in the retrobulbar optic nerve in idio-pathic intracranial hypertension (PTC).Methods: Both optic nerves from a 29-year-old man with a two year history of PTC were examined histologically and morphometrically. A semi-automated image analysis system and paraphenylenediamine (PPD) stain were employed to resolve sufficiently the microvascular images for counts and measurement.Results: There were 150 vessels distributed in the optic nerves which revealed the following: The average lumen of the vessels in outer sectors were larger than those of the inner sector vessels (168. 17μm2vs. 46. 99μm2; p = 0. 0338;OD; and 251. 96μm2vs. 130.02μm2;p = 0.029;OS) while in the normal control optic nerve the outer and inner area lumens were reversed in size-differential, but this did not show a statistical difference. 17Integrated bioremediation techniques in a shrimp farming environment under controlled conditions显示文摘This study investigated the integrated bioremediation techniques for a shrimp culture system to reduce unconsumed feed and the contents of suspended solids(SS), nutrients and organic pollutants using barracuda,clamworm, scallop, large algae and a biofilter. A multi-pool internal circulation system was designed to test the effectiveness of the techniques in the laboratory. The experimental result has shown that Argopecten irradians,Gracilaria lemaneiformis and the biofilter efficiently reduced the contents of SS, dissolved inorganic carbon(DIC)and dissolved organic carbon(DOC) in the breeding wastewater. The amount of unconsumed feed was significantly reduced by barracuda and clamworm, but there was an increase in the contents of SS, DIC and DOC in the water due to disturbance by the barracuda and clamworm. The capacity of macroalgae to extract inorganic nitrogen was insufficient. However, the balance of the nitrogen fixation rate of macroalgae and the biological exhaust nitrogen rate within the system should be fully considered. The use of the biofilter alone was not optimal for the remediation of organic matter in shrimp effluent so that auxiliary foam separation technology is needed to improve the ability of the system to remove macromolecules.
