Asynchronous Brain-Computer Interface Shared Control of Robotic Grasping显示文摘The control of a high Degree of Freedom(DoF) robot to grasp a target in three-dimensional space using Brain-Computer Interface(BCI) remains a very difficult problem to solve. Design of synchronous BCI requires the user perform the brain activity task all the time according to the predefined paradigm; such a process is boring and fatiguing. Furthermore, the strategy of switching between robotic auto-control and BCI control is not very reliable because the accuracy of Motor Imagery(MI) pattern recognition rarely reaches 100%. In this paper, an asynchronous BCI shared control method is proposed for the high DoF robotic grasping task. The proposed method combines BCI control and automatic robotic control to simultaneously consider the robotic vision feedback and revise the unreasonable control commands. The user can easily mentally control the system and is only required to intervene and send brain commands to the automatic control system at the appropriate time according to the experience of the user. Two experiments are designed to validate our method: one aims to illustrate the accuracy of MI pattern recognition of our asynchronous BCI system; the other is the online practical experiment that controls the robot to grasp a target while avoiding an obstacle using the asynchronous BCI shared control method that can improve the safety and robustness of our system. | Wenchang Zhang Fuchun Sun Hang Wu Chuanqi Tan Yuzhen Ma | 2019 | Tsinghua Science and Technology2019,24,3: | 8
参麦注射液防治晚期非小细胞肺癌化疗不良反应的临床观察(英文)显示文摘Objective: To observe the efficacy of Shenmai injection in the treatment for adverse reactions of chemotherapy on advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods: 45 NSCLC patients with stages IIIb-IV were randomly divided into two groups: the treatment group (treated by chemotherapy combined with Shenmai injection) and the control group (treated by chemotherapy only). The efficacy of the two groups was evaluated after 3 cycles of treatment. Results: There was no significant difference between the two groups in the recent curative effects (P > 0.05), while there were significant differences between them in Karnofsky score and weight (P < 0.05). The treatment group was better than the control group in preventing leucopenia and decreased hemoglobin, and significant differences were found between them (P < 0.05). The incidence of thrombocytopenia, nausea and vomiting, hepatic and renal dysfunction in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group, but no significant differences were found between them (P > 0.05). Conclusion: Shenmai injection would not influence the efficacy of chemotherapy on advanced NSCLC patients, while it could improve the quality of life, increase the body weight of patients, alleviate adverse reactions of chemotherapy as myelosuppression so as to improve the tolerance of organism to chemotherapy. | Yang Cao Yan Li Yuzhen Bi Peng Li Ruishen Chen Yusheng Wu Kaiji Tan | 2008 | The Chinese-German Journal of Clinical Oncology2008,7,2: | 6
Inhibition of in-stent restenosis after graphene oxide double-layer drug coating with good biocompatibility显示文摘In this study,we designed a double layer-coated vascular stent of 316L stainless steel using an ultrasonic spray system to achieve both antiproliferation and antithrombosis. The coating included an inner layer of graphene oxide(GO)loaded with docetaxel(DTX)and an outer layer of carboxymethyl chitosan(CMC)loaded with heparin(Hep). The coated surface was uniform without aggregation and shedding phenomena before and after stent expanded. The coating treatment was able to inhibit the adhesion and activation of platelets and the proliferation and migration of smooth muscle cells, indicating the excellent biocompatibility and antiproliferation ability. The toxicity tests showed that the GO/DTX and CMC/Hep coating did not cause deformity and organ abnormalities in zebrafish under stereomicroscope. The stents with GO double-layer coating were safe and could effectively prevent thrombosis and in-stent restenosis after the implantation into rabbit carotid arteries for 4–12 weeks. | Shuang Ge Yadong Xi Ruolin Du Yuzhen Ren Zichen Xu Youhua Tan Yazhou Wang Tieying Yin Guixue Wang | 2019 | Regenerative Biomaterials2019,6,5: | 4
Developmental validation of the novel six-dye Goldeneye^(TM)DNA ID System 35InDel kit for forensic application显示文摘Insertion/deletion polymorphisms(InDels)have been treated as a prospective and helpful genetic marker in the fields of forensic human identification, anthropology and population genetics for the past few years. In this study,we developed a six-dye multiplex typing system consisting of 34 autosomal InDels and Amelogenin for forensic application. The contained InDels were specifically selected for Chinese population with the MAF≥0.25 in East Asia, which do not overlap with the markers of Investigator^(■)DIPplex kit.The typing system was named as GoldeneyeTM DNA ID System 35InDel Kit,and a series of developmental validation studies including repeatability/reproducibility,concordance,accuracy,sensitivity,stability,species specificity and population genetics were conducted on this kit.We confirmed that the 35InDel kit is precise, sensitive, species specific and robust for forensic practice. Moreover, the 35InDel kit is capable of typing DNA extracted from forensic routine case-type samples as well as degraded samples and mixture samples. All markers are proved to be highly polymorphic with an average observed heterozygosity(He)of 0.4582.The combined power of discrimination(CPD)is 0.999999999999978 and the combined power of exclusion in duos(CPE_(D))and trios(CPE_(T))are 0.978837 and 0.999573,respectively,which are higher than those of the Investigator^(■)DIPplex kit. Thus, the GoldeneyeTM DNA ID System 35InDel kit is suitable for forensic human identification and could serve as a supplementary typing system for paternity testing. | Qi Yang Huan Yu Yiling Qu Xiaochun Zhang Ruocheng Xia Ziwei Wang Rui Tan Lei Xiong Shihan Xi Jun Wu Yuzhen Gao Suhua Zhang Chengtao Li | 2022 | Forensic Sciences Research2022,7,4: | 0
Regulatory variation within 3’UTR of STAT5A correlates with sudden cardiac death in Chinese populations显示文摘Definitive diagnosis to sudden cardiac death(SCD)is often challenging since the postmortem examination on SCD victims could hardly demonstrate an adequate cause of death. It is therefore important to uncover the inherited risk component to SCD.Signal transducer and activators of transcription 5 A(STAT5A)is a member of the STAT family and a transcription factor that is activated by many cell ligands and associated with various cardiovascular processes. In this study,we performed a systematic variant screening on the STAT5A to filter potential functional genetic variations.Based on the screening results,an insertion/deletion polymorphism(rs3833144)in 3’UTR of STAT5A was selected as the candidate variant.A total of 159 SCD cases and 668 SCD matched healthy controls was enrolled to perform a case-control study and evaluate the association between rs3833144 and SCD susceptibility in Chinese populations.Logistic regression analysis showed that the deletion allele of rs3833144 had significantly increased the SCD risk(odds ratio(OR)=1.54;95%confidence interval(CI)=1.18-2.01;P=0.000955).Further genotype-expression eQTL analysis showed that samples with deletion allele appeared to lower expression of STAT5A,and in silico prediction suggested the local 3 D structure changes of STAT5A mRNA caused by the variant. On the other hand, the bioinformatic analysis presented that promoters of RARA and PTGES3L-AARSD1 could interact with rs3833144,and eQTL analysis showed the higher expression of both genes in samples with deletion allele.Dual-luciferase activity assays also suggested the significant regulatory role of rs3833144 in gene transcription. Our current data thus suggested a possible involvement of rs3833144 to SCD predisposition in Chinese populations and rs3833144 with potential function roles may become a candidate marker for SCD diagnosis and prevention. | Huan Yu Yadong Guo Zhenzhen Yang Qing Zhang Jiabin Xu Qi Yang Yiling Qu Rui Tan Lijuan Li Yan He Chengtao Li Suhua Zhang Bin Luo Yuzhen Gao | 2022 | Forensic Sciences Research2022,7,4: | 0
Broadly neutralizing antibodies derived from the earliest COVID-19 convalescents protect mice from SARS-CoV-2 variants challenge显示文摘Coronavirus disease 2019(COviD-19)was first reported three years ago, when a group of individuals were infected with the original SARS-CoV-2 strain, based on which vaccines were developed. Here,we develop six human monoclonal antibodies(mAbs)from two elite convalescents in Wuhan and show that these mAbs recognize diverse epitopes on the receptor binding domain(RBD)and can inhibit the infection of SARS-CoV-2 original strain and variants of concern(VOCs)to varying degrees, including Omicron strains XBB and XBB. | Qianyun Liu Haiyan Zhao Zhiqiang Li Zhen Zhang Rui Huang Mengxue Gu Ke Zhuang Qing Xiong Xianying Chen Weiyi Yu Shengnan Qian Yuzhen Zhang Xue Tan Muyi Zhang Feiyang Yu Ming Guo Zhixiang Huang Xin Wang Wenjie Xiang Bihao Wu Fanghua Mei Kun Cai Limin Zhou Li Zhou Ying Wu Huan Yan heng Cao Ke Lan Yu Chen | 2023 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,10: | 0
Effects of vascular endothelial growth factor on angiogenesis of the endothelial cells isolated from cavernous malformations显示文摘Human cerebral cavernous malformation(CM)is a common vascular malformation of the central nervous system. We have investigated the biological characteristics of CM endothelial cells and the cellular and molecular mechanisms of CM angiogenesis to offer new insights into exploring effective measures for treatment of this disease. The endothelial cells were isolated from CM tissue masses dissected during operation and expanded in vitro.Expression of VEGFR-1 and VEGFR-2 was examined with immunocytochemical staining.Proliferation, migration and tube formation of CM endothelial cells were determined using MTT,wounding and transmigration assays, and three-dimensional collagen type I gel respectively. The endothelial cells were successfully isolated from the tissue specimens of 25 CMs dissected without dipolar electrocoagulation. The cells show the general characteristics of the vascular endothelial cells.Expression of VEGFR-1 and VEGFR-2 on the cells is higher than that on the normal cerebral microvascular endothelial cells. After treatment with VEGF,numbers of the proliferated and migrated cells, the maximal distance of cell migration and the length and area of capillary-like struc-tures formed in the three-dimensional collagen gel increase significantly. These results demonstrate that expression of VEGFR-1 and VEGFR-2 on CM endothelial cells is up-regulated.By binding to re-ceptors,VEGF may activate the downstream signaling pathways and promote proliferation, migration and tube formation of CM endothelial cells.VEGF/VEGFR signaling pathways play important regulating roles in CM angiogenesis. | TAN YuZhen ZHAO Yao WANG HaiJie ZHOU LiangFu MAO Ying LIU Rui SHU Jia WANG YongFei | 2008 | Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,3: | 0

Pluripotent Embryonic Stem Cells Developed into Medulloepithelioma in Nude Mice Eyes显示文摘Purpose: The pluripotent embryonic stem cells can differentiate into various kinds offormal tissues. There is no previous report on the differentiation of embryonic stem cellin the intraocular environment. In this paper, the authors tried to investigate theintraocular growth character of mice embryonic stem cells in nude mice. Methods: Murine embryonic stem cells were cultured and maintained in anundifferentiated state in vitro. They were transplanted into the right eyes of 20 nude miceby microinjection under operating microscope. Animal eye observation, light microscopeand immunohistochemical examinations were implemented. Results: Two to three days after transplantation, small pieces of gray-white materialcould be viewed in the vitreous cavity. Between the 15th and 20th day, the gray-whitemass grew into the anterior chamber in 4 nude mice eyes. Then, the mass at the anteriorchamber extended extraocularly. On the 30th day, a remarkable proptosis was observedin two of the four nude mice. In 6 to 45 days, the mice were executed for morphologicalexamination which showed the following typical structures: (1) Undifferentiated cellswith prominent nucleolius. (2) Flexner-Wintersteiner-like rosettes. (3) Medulloepithe-lioma-like structure: the cells were arranged in sheets, cords, tubes, and cysts. (4) Large,spindle-or astrocyte-like cells. (5) Cartilage-like structure. Immunohistochemically, mostof the cells were highly positive in NSE staining and a few cells were moderately positivein GFAP staining. Conclusions: Both animal eye findings and morphologic examinations certificated thatthe transplanted embryonic stem cells could grow in the eyes of nude mice anddifferentiate into intraocular medulloepithelioma. | Yongping Li , Xiufeng Zhong , Jianhua Yan , Jianxian Lin, Song Tan Xuan Wu, Shulong Li, Guanguang Feng, Yuzhen Yi Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou 510060, China Department of Pathophysiology, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou | 2002 | Eye Science2002,18,1X: | 0
