1DOG1 is useful for diagnosis of KIT-negative gastrointestinal stromal tumor of stomach显示文摘Approximately 80%-95%of gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GISTs)show positive staining for KIT,while the other 5%-20%show negative staining. If the tumor is negative for KIT,but is positive for CD34,a histological diagnosis is possible. However,if the tumor is negative for KIT,CD34,S-100,and SMA,a definitive diagnosis is often challenging.Recently,Discovered on GIST-1(DOG1)has received considerable attention as a useful molecule for the diagnosis of GIST.DOG1,a membrane channel protein,is known to be overexpressed in GIST.Because the sensitivity and specificity of DOG1 are higher than those of KIT,positive staining for DOG1has been reported, even in KIT-negative GISTs.KITnegative GISTs most commonly arise in the stomach and are mainly characterized by epithelioid features histologically. We describe our experience with a rare case of a KIT-negative GIST of the stomach that was diagnosed by positive immunohistochemical staining for DOG1 in a patient who presented with severe anemia. Our findings suggest that immunohistochemical staining for DOG1,in addition to gene analysis,is useful for the diagnosis of KIT-negative tumors that are suspected to be GISTs.Takuya Wada Satoshi Tanabe Kenji Ishido Katsuhiko Higuchi Tohru Sasaki Chikatoshi Katada Mizutomo Azuma Akira Naruke Myunguchul Kim Wasaburo Koizumi Tetsuo Mikami 2013World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,47:11
2Delayed perforation after endoscopic submucosal dissection for early gastric cancer: Clinical features and treatment显示文摘Perforation is an important procedural complication of endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD) for early gastric cancer. Although the incidence of delayed perforation after ESD is low, extreme caution is necessary because many cases require surgical intervention. Among 1984 lesions of early gastric cancer treated in our hospital by ESD in 1588 patients from September 2002 through March 2015, delayed perforation developed in 4 patients(4 lesions, 0.25%). A diagnosis of delayed perforation requires prompt action, including surgical intervention when required.Takafumi Yano Satoshi Tanabe Kenji Ishido Mizutomo Azuma Takuya Wada Mizuto Suzuki Natsuko Kawanishi Sakiko Yamane Tohru Sasaki Chikatoshi Katada Tetsuo Mikami Natsuya Katada Wasaburo Koizumi 2016World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy2016,8,8:4
3Gastric submucosa-invasive carcinoma associated with EpsteinBarr virus and endoscopic submucosal dissection: A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Epstein-Barr virus(EBV)-associated carcinoma is a gastric cancer subtype with a morphology characterized by gastric carcinoma with lymphoid stroma(GCLS).Clinicopathological studies have indicated a better prognosis for GCLS than for common gastric carcinomas. Some previous cases of early gastric cancer associated with EBV had been diagnosed by endoscopic resection.CASE SUMMARY We present two GCLS cases subjected to endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)for a definitive diagnosis.A protruded gastric lesion was identified by routine endoscopic examination, but forceps biopsy showed no atypical cells before ESD.The resected specimen showed a poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma with lymphoid cells involving the mucosa and submucosa. The final diagnosis was submucosa-invasive poorly differentiated gastric adenocarcinoma.Accordingly, additional gastrectomy was recommended to obtain a complete cure. One patient underwent additional distal gastrectomy with lymph node dissection, but the other was refused because of cardiovascular complications. Both patients remained in remission for more than half a year.EBV positivity was determined by EBV-encoded RNA in situ hybridization. We also conducted a literature review of cases of early gastric cancer associated with EBV that had been diagnosed by ESD.CONCLUSION Submucosa-invasive GCLS could be dissected using ESD,and EBV positivity should be subsequently assessed to determine whether or not any additional curative surgery is required.Further prospective investigations on the prevalence of lymph node metastasis in EBV-associated carcinoma should be performed to expand the indications for endoscopic resection.Yu Kobayashi Takehito Kunogi Hiroki Tanabe Yuki Murakami Takuya Iwama Takahiro Sasaki Keitaro Takahashi Katsuyoshi Ando Yoshiki Nomura Nobuhiro Ueno Shin Kashima Kentaro Moriichi Hidehiro Takei Mikihiro Fujiya Toshikatsu Okumura 2019World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology2019,11,10:2

9Determination of the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction using pattern recognition and machine learning显示文摘Machine learning is applied to a large number of modern devices that are essential in building an energy-efficient smart society.Audio and face recognition are among the most well-known technologies that make use of such artificial intelligence. In materials research, machine learning is adapted to predict materials with certain functionalities,an approach often referred to as materials informatics. Here,we show that machine learning can be used to extract material parameters from a single image obtained in experiments. The Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya(DM)interaction and the magnetic anisotropy distribution of thin-film heterostructures, parameters that are critical in developing next-generation storage class magnetic memory technologies, are estimated from a magnetic domain image.Micromagnetic simulation is used to generate thousands of random images for training and model validation.A convolutional neural network system is employed as the learning tool. The DM exchange constant of typical Co-based thin-film heterostructures is studied using the trained system:the estimated values are in good agreement with experiments. Moreover,we show that the system can independently determine the magnetic anisotropy distribution, demonstrating the potential of pattern recognition. This approach can considerably simplify experimental processes and broaden the scope of materials research.Masashi Kawaguchi Kenji Tanabe Keisuke Yamada Takuya Sawa Shun Hasegawa Masamitsu Hayashi Yoshinobu Nakatani 2021npj Computational Materials2021,,1:0
