1Clinical Evaluation of Pranoprofen Combined with Fluorometholone Eye Drops on Postoperative Reaction of Corneal Cross-linking显示文摘Purpose:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of pranoprofen eye drops for reducing postoperative ocular pain and inflammation after corneal cross-linking (CXL). Methods:Twenty-seven patients (38 eyes) with keratoconus undergoing CXL were examined and randomly divided into control (12 cases; 18 eyes) and experimental groups (15 cases;20 eyes).The patients in the control group were given fluorometholone eye drops,and those in the experimental group were administered with fluorometholone combined with pranoprofen eye drops.Corneal irritation and haze were compared between the two groups at 1 month postoperatively. Results:At 1 to 3 days after surgery,the corneal irritation in the experimental group was significantly reduced compared with that in the control group (P<0.05), but there was no significant difference on 5 to 7 days postoperatively (P>0.05). The average degree of haze in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group 1 month after surgery (P<0.05), but there was no significant difference in the best-corrected vision acuity and intraocular pressure between the two groups. There were 2 cases with >20 mmHg intraocular pressure in the control group. Conclusion:The combined use of fluorometholone and pranoprofen can significantly reduce inflammatory response,alleviate corneal irritation at early stage after CXL,effectively prevent and control the average of haze,and reduce the incidence of steroid-induced ocular hypertension after surgery.Xu Pang Zhengjun Fan Xiujun Peng Hongzhen Jia Tengfei Wu 2012Eye Science2012,27,4:4
2Highly efficient and stable solar-powered desalination by tungsten carbide nanoarray film with sandwich wettability显示文摘Solar-powered desalination is a promising way to resolve the worldwide water crisis for its low con- sumption and simple facility. Considering the fragility and aggregations of traditional materials, which may decrease efficiency, we herein introduce a robust tungsten carbide (WC) nanoarray film as a stable and efficient photothermal material, whose absorption is over 97.5% throughout almost the whole solar spectrum range (220–2200 nm) due to nanoarray structure and thus enhanced localized surface plasmon resonance. Besides, for the first time, we modified the film with sandwich wettability. It accelerates evap- oration by reducing water’s reflection of light, enlarging hydrophobic-hydrophilic boundaries, and depressing heat dissipation. 3Genome degradation promotes Salmonella pathoadaptation by remodeling fimbriae-mediated proinflammatory response显示文摘Understanding changes in pathogen behavior(e.g.increased virulence,a shift in transmission channel)is critical for the public health management of emerging infectious diseases.Genome degradation via gene depletion or inactivation is recognized as a pathoadaptive feature of the pathogen evolving with the host.However,little is known about the exact role of genome degradation in affecting pathogenic behavior,and the underlying molecular detail has yet to be examined.Using large-scale global avian-restricted Salmonella genomes spanning more than a century,we projected the genetic diversity of Salmonella Pullorum(bvSP)by showing increasingly antimicrobial-resistant ST92 prevalent in Chinese flocks.The phylogenomic analysis identified three lineages in bvSP,with an enhancement of virulence in the two recently emerged lineages(L2/L3),as evidenced in chicken and embryo infection assays.Notably,the ancestor L1 lineage resembles the Salmonella serovars with higher metabolic flexibilities and more robust environmental tolerance,indicating stepwise evolutionary trajectories towards avian-restricted lineages.Pan-genome analysis pinpointed fimbrial degradation from a virulent lineage.The later engineeredfim-deletion mutant,and all other five fimbrial systems,revealed behavior switching that restricted horizontal fecal-oral transmission but boosted virulence in chicks.By depleting fimbrial appendages,bvSP established persistent replication with less proinflammation in chick macrophages and adopted vertical transovarial transmission,accompanied by ever-increasing intensification in the poultry industry.Together,we uncovered a previously unseen paradigm for remodeling bacterial surface appendages that supplements virulence-enhanced evolution with increased vertical transmission.Xiao Zhou Xiamei Kang Jiaqi Chen Yan Song Chenghao Jia Lin Teng Yanting Tang Zhijie Jiang Xianqi Peng Xiaoxi Tao Yiwei Xu Linlin Huang Xuebin Xu Yaohui Xu Tengfei Zhang Shenye Yu Jiansen Gong Shaohui Wang Yuqing Liu Guoqiang Zhu Corinna Kehrenberg Franois-Xavier Weill Paul Barrow Yan Li Guoping Zhao Min Yue 2023National Science Review2023,10,10:0
4Rare inherited missense variants of POGZ associate with autism risk and disrupt neuronal development显示文摘Excess de novo likely gene-disruptive and missense variants within dozens of genes have been identified in autism spectrum disorder(ASD)and other neurodevelopmental disorders.However,many rare inherited missense variants of these high-risk genes have not been thoroughly evaluated.In this study,we analyzed the rare missense variant burden of POGZ in a large cohort of ASD patients from the Autism Clinical and Genetic Resources in China(ACGC)and further dissected the functional effect of diseaseassociated missense variants on neuronal development.Our results showed a significant burden of rare missense variants in ASD patients compared to the control population(P=4.6×10-5,OR=3.96),and missense variants in ASD patients showed more severe predicted functional outcomes than those in controls.Furthermore,by leveraging published large-scale sequencing data of neurodevelopmental disorders(NDDs)and sporadic case reports,we identified 8 de novo missense variants of POGZ in NDD patients.Functional analysis revealed that two inherited,but not de novo,missense variants influenced the cellular localization of POGZ and failed to rescue the defects in neurite and dendritic spine development caused by Pogz knockdown in cultured mouse primary cortical neurons.Significantly,L1CAM,an autism candidate risk gene,is differentially expressed in POGZ deficient cell lines.Reduced expression of L1cam was able to partially rescue the neurite length defects caused by Pogz knockdown.Our study showed the important roles of rare inherited missense variants of POGZ in ASD risk and neuronal development and identified the potential downstream targets of POGZ,which are important for further molecular mechanism studies.Wenjing Zhao Jieqiong Tan Tengfei Zhu Jianjun Ou Ying Li Lu Shen Huidan Wu Lin Han Yanling Liu Xiangbin Jia Ting Bai Honghui Li Xiaoyan Ke Jingping Zhao Xiaobing Zou Zhengmao Hu Hui Guo Kun Xia 2019Journal of Genetics and Genomics2019,46,5:0
5Comparison of Central Corneal Thickness using Ultrasound Pachymetry during Corneal Collagen Cross-linking显示文摘Purpose:To study variation in central corneal thickness (CCT) during corneal collagen cross-linking(CXL) using ultrasound pachymetry. Methods:Twenty patients (26 eyes) with progressing keratoconus undergoing riboflavin-UVA-induced CXL were involved in this study. Intraoperative CCT measurement using ultrasonic pachymetry was performed during the procedure.Measurements were obtained before operation, after epithelial removal, after riboflavin drop instillation, and after UVA irradiation. Results:Mean CCT was 495±56 and 450±52 μm before and after epithelial removal, respectively. Mean CCT was 443±42 and 411±39 μm after riboflavin drop instillation and after UVA irradiation, respectively. Statistically significant decreases in CCT occurred between the preoperative period and after epithelial removal, after riboflavin drop instillation and after UVA irradiation. Twenty-six eyes from 20 patients undergoing CXL were divided into 2 groups (I with CCT≥400 μm after UVA irradiation and II with CCT<400 μm after UVA irradiation). No statistically significant difference was noted between I and II in preoperative endothelial cell count, but a statistically greater postoperative endothelial cell count was noted in I compared to II. A statistically significant difference was evident between preoperative and postoperative endothelial cell counts in Group II (P<0.05). 6Evaluation of infill well pattern based on the dynamic change of reservoirs during coalbed methane development显示文摘With the deepening of coalbed methane(CBM)exploration and development,the problem of low gas production has gradually become one of the main factors restricting the development of the CBM industry in China.Reasonable well pattern deployment can improve the productivity of CBM wells and reduce the cost of production,while the reservoir changes of CBM wells play a important role for well pattern infilling.In this study,the dynamic characteristics of the average reservoir pressure(ARP),permeability,and drainage radius during the development process of CBM wells are systematically analyzed,and predicted the production changes of well groups before and after infilling wells in combination with the characteristics of reservoir changes.The results show that the high gas production wells have a larger pressure drop,long drainage radius,and a large increase in permeability.On the contrary,low gas production wells are characterized by small drainage radius,damaged permeability and difficult to recover.The productivity of infilled horizontal wells is predicted for two well groups with different productivity and reservoir dynamic characteristics.After infilling wells,the production of current wells has increased at different degrees.It is predicted that the average gas production of low gas production well group H1 and middle gas production well group H2 will increase 1.64 and 2.09 times respectively after 3000 days production simulation.In addition,the pressure interference between wells has increased significantly,and the overall gas production of the well group has greatly increased.Infill wells can achieve better development results in areas with superior CBM resources,recoverable reservoir permeability,and small drainage radius during the early production process.The research results provide a reference for the later infill adjustment of CBM well patterns in the study area.Qian ZHANG Shuheng TANGI Songhang ZHANG Xinlu YAN Kaifeng WANG Tengfei JIA Zhizhen WANG 2023Frontiers of Earth Science2023,17,3:0
7Safety and efficacy of the SeparGateTM balloon-guiding catheter in neurointerventional surgery:A prospective,multicenter,single-arm clinical trial显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the safety and efficacy of the SeparGateballoon-guiding catheter(BGC)for blocking flow and delivering devices in neurointerventional surgery.Method:This prospective multicenter single-arm trial enrolled patients who received BGC adjuvant therapy to provide temporary blood flow arrest of the supra-aortic arch arteries and their branch vessels in interventional therapy.The primary endpoint was immediate procedural success rate in flow arrest,device delivery,and withdrawal.The efficacy endpoints were intraoperative product performance,including rigidity,smoothness,fracture resistance of the catheter wall,catheter push performance,compatibility and radiopaque display,integrity,adhesion thrombus after withdrawal and balloon rupture.The safety endpoints were adverse and serious adverse events associated with the test device and serious adverse events resulting in death or serious health deterioration.Result:A total of 129 patients were included;of them,128 were analyzed in the full analysis set(FAS)and per protocol set(PPS).Immediate procedural success was achieved in 97.7%of patients with FAS and PPS.The lower bound of the 95%confidence interval was 94.6%,higher than the preset efficacy margin of 94%.Device-related adverse events occurred in 2(1.6%)cases.One was mild adverse event of vasospasm,which resolved spontaneously.The other was serious adverse event of dissection aggravation,which was treated with stenting angioplasty.No device defects were observed.Conclusion:In neurointerventional surgery,the SeparGateBGC can be used to temporarily block the flow of the supra-aortic arch arteries and their branch vessels and guide the interventional device to the target vascular position.Huan Liu Rufeng Jia Yanyan He Tengfei Zhou Liangfu Zhu Yonghong Ding Juha Antero Hernesniemi Tianxiao Li Yingkun He 2022Journal of Interventional Medicine2022,5,3:0
