| 1 | Reductive immobilization of perrhenate in soil and groundwater using starch-stabilized ZVI nanoparticles显示文摘Perrhenate(ReO4-) was used as nonradioactive surrogate for the radionuclide pertechnetate(99TcO-4) to investigate the potential of using starch-stabilized zero valent iron(ZVI) nanoparticles for reductive immobilization of pertechnetate in soil and groundwater.Batch kinetic tests indicated that the starch-stabilized ZVI nanoparticles were able to reductively remove ~96% of perrhenate(10 mg/L) from water within 8 h.XRD analyses confirmed that ReO 2 was the reduction product.A pseudo-first-order kinetic model was able to interpret the kinetic data,which gave a pseudo first order rate constant(kobs) value of 0.43h-1 at pH 6.9 and room temperature(25℃).Increasing solution pH up to 8 progressively increased the reaction rate.However,highly alkaline pH(10) resulted in much inhibited reaction rate.Consequently,the optimal pH range was identified to be from 7 to 8.Increasing solution temperature from 15 to 45℃ increased k obs from 0.38 to 0.53 h-1.The classical Arrhenius equation was able to interpret the temperature effect,which gave a low activation energy value of 7.61 kJ/mol.When the ReO-4-loaded loess was treated with the stabilized nanoparticles suspension([Fe]=560 mg/L),the water leachable ReO-4 was reduced by 57% and nearly all eluted Re was in the form of ReO2.This finding indicates that starch-stabilized ZVI nanoparticles are promising for facilitating in situ immobilization of ReO-4 in soil and groundwater. | LIU HongFang QIAN TianWei ZHAO DongYe | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,2: | 7 |
| 2 | A Bionic Study on the Anti-erosion Mechanism of Laudakia stoliczkana:Experimental and Numerical Aspects显示文摘The scales of body surface of Laudakia stoliczkana have the morphology of convex hulls,which are arranged in groove structure in macroscopic scale.Its body surface skin is mainly composed of the'soft'layer of keratin and the'hard'layer of the cuticle covering on the'soft'layer.The coupling effect of the scale morphology and skin's structure gives Laudakia stoliczkana the excellent ability to resist the sand erosion in desert environment.Inspired by the convex surface morphology and the composite structure of the'soft'and'hard'layers of the skin of Laudakia stoliczkana^the coupling bionic samples are febricated and the erosion resistance performance is tested.The test results show that the coupling bionic samples have good erosion resistance perfbimance and the samples with spherical convex hull exhibit the best erosion resistance performance.Moreover,based on the theory of stress wave propagation in solid the numerical simula tions of particles impacting to the coupling bionic samples and bionic layered structure are done respectively and the anti-erosion me chanism of the bionic layered structure is analyzed.The simulation results are consistent with the experimental results,which show that the coupling bionic samples can effectively reduce the amplitude of the incident stress wave,and thus can prevent the failure of samples. | Ping Liang Youhong Sun Sihan Liu Tianwei Liang Yuhang Zhang Youwei Wang Luquan Ren | 2019 | Journal of Bionic Engineering2019,16,5: | 2 |

| 15 | Pilot-scale acetone-butanol-ethanol fermentation from corn stover显示文摘Biobutanol is an advanced biofuel that can be produced from excess lignocellulose via acetone-butanol-ethanol(ABE)fermentation.Although significant technological progress has been made in this field,attempts at largescale lignocellulosic ABE production remain scarce.In this study,1m^(3)scale ABE fermentation was investigated using high inhibitor tolerance Clostridium acetobutylicum ABE-P1201 and steam-exploded corn stover hydrolysate(SECSH).Before expanding the fermentation scale,the detoxification process for SECSH was simplified by process engineering.Results revealed that appropriate pH management during the fed-batch cultivation could largely decrease the inhibition of the toxic components in undetoxified SECSH to the solventogenesis phase of the ABE-P1201 strains,avoiding“acid crash”.Therefore,after naturalizing the pH by Ca(OH)_(2),the undetoxified SECSH,without removal of the solid components,reached 17.68±1.30 g/L of ABE production with 0.34±0.01 g/g of yield in 1 L scale bioreactor.Based on this strategy,the fermentation scale gradually expanded from laboratory-scale apparatus to pilot-scale bioreactors.Finally,17.05±1.20 g/L of ABE titer and 0.32±0.01 g/g of ABE yield were realized in 1m3 bioreactor,corresponding to approximately 145 kg of ABE production from 1 t of dry corn stover.The pilot-scale ABE fermentation demonstrated excellent stability during repeated operations.This study provided a simplified ABE fermentation strategy and verified the feasibility of the pilot process,providing tremendous significance and a solid foundation for the future industrialization of second-generation ABE plants. | Changsheng Su Di Cai Honggang Zhang Yilu Wu Yongjie Jiang Yicheng Liu Changwei Zhang Chunling Li Peiyong Qin Tianwei Tan | 2024 | Green Carbon2024,2,1: | 0 |

| 20 | Understanding the mechanisms of brain functions from the angle of synchronization and complex network显示文摘The human brain is the most complicated and fascinated system and executes various important brain functions, but its underlying mechanism is a long-standing problem. In recent years, based on the progress of complex network science, much attention has been paid to this problem and many important results have been achieved, thus it is the time to make a summary to help further studies. For this purpose, we here make a brief but comprehensive review on those results from the aspect of brain networks, i.e., from the angle of synchronization and complex network. First, we briefly discuss the main features of human brain and its cognitive functions through synchronization. Then, we discuss how to construct both the anatomical and functional brain networks, including the pathological brain networks such as epilepsy and Alzheimer’s diseases. Next, we discuss the approaches of studying brain networks. After that, we discuss the current progress of understanding the mechanisms of brain functions, including the aspects of chimera state, remote synchronization, explosive synchronization, intelligence quotient, and remote propagation.
