| 1 | A Virulent PEDV Strain FJzz1 with Genomic Mutations and Deletions at the High Passage Level Was Attenuated in Piglets via Serial Passage In Vitro显示文摘Highly virulent porcine epidemic diarrhea virus(PEDV)strains re-emerged and circulated in China at the end of 2010,causing significant economic losses in the pork industry worldwide.To understand the genetic dynamics of PEDV during its passage in vitro,the PEDV G2 strain FJzzl was serially propagated in Vero cells for up to 200 passages.The susceptibility and adaptability of the FJzzl strain increased gradually as it was serially passaged in vitro.Sequence analysis revealed that amino acid(aa)changes were mainly concentrated in the S glycoprotein,which accounted for 72.22%-85.71%of all aa changes.A continuous aa deletion(^(55)I^(56)G^(57)E→^(55)K^(56)Δ^(57)Δ)occurred in the N-terminal domain of S1(Sl-NTD).To examine how the aa changes affected its virulence,FJzzl-F20 and FJzzl-F200 were selected to simultaneously evaluate their pathogenicity in suckling piglets.All the piglets in the FJzzl-F20-infected group showed typical diarrhea at 24 h postinfection,and the piglets died successively by 48 h postinfection.However,the clinical signs of the piglets in the FJzzl-F200-infected group were significantly weaker,and no deaths occurred.The FJzzl-F200-infected group also showed a lower level of fecal viral shedding and lower viral loads in the intestinal tissues,and no obvious histopathological lesions.TypeⅠandⅢinterferon were induced in the FJzzl-F200 infection group,together with pro-inflammatory cytokines,such as TNF-α,IL-1βand IL-8.These results indicate that the identified genetic changes may contribute to the attenuation of FJzzl strain,and the attenuated FJzzl-F200 may have the potential for developing PEDV live-attenuated vaccines. | Pengfei Chen Xiongwei Zhao Shuting Zhou Tianxing Zhou Xiangmei Tan Xia Wu Wu Tong Fei Gao Lingxue Yu Yifeng Jiang Hai Yu Zhibiao Yang Guangzhi Tong Yanjun Zhou | 2021 | Virologica Sinica2021,36,5: | 4 |
| 2 | Synthesis of montmorillonite-chitosan hollow and hierarchical mesoporous spheres with single-template layer-by-layer assembly显示文摘In order to develop a facile and precisely controlled approach to synthesize hierarchical mesoporous materials with tailored property, in this work, a novel study was carried out to fabricate montmorillonitechitosan hollow and hierarchical mesoporous spheres(MMTNS@CS-HMPHS) based on single-template layer-by-layer(Lb L) assembly. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), specific surface area analysis and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) analyses were carried out to characterize the morphology and surface properties of MMTNS@CS-HMPHS. Benefitting from the unique lamellar structure of MMTNS, mesoporous channels are formed on the shell of MMTNS@CS hollow spheres, resulting in high surface area. | 5 | Antigenic characterization of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron subvariants XBB.1.5,BQ.1,BQ.1.1,BF.7 and BA.2.75.2显示文摘Dear Editor,Recently,a number of new Omicron subvariants related to BA.4/5 and BA.2.75 have emerged and shown remarkable antibody evasion capacities,in particular BF.7,BQ.1,BQ.1.1,BA.2.75.2,XBB and XBB.1.5.1 Unsurprisingly,these new subvariants are quickly gaining prevalence worldwide.In fact,some of them have outcompeted BA.5 in the USA according to CDC’s national genomic surveillance data in which,as of 6th February 2023,XBB.1.5,BQ.1.1,BQ.1,XBB and BF.7 have achieved a dominance of 66.4%,19.9%,7.3%,2.3%and 0.5%in the USA,as compared to 0.5%for BA.5.In this report,using plasma samples collected from individuals following different vaccination strategies and COVID-19 convalescent donors,we performed pseudoviral neutralization assays to confirm severe reductions in neutralization titers against BF.7,BQ.1,BQ.1.1,BA.2.75.2,XBB and XBB.1.5 in comparison to other Omicron sub-lineages.XBB and XBB.1.5 were shown to be remarkably resistant to plasma neutralization in all tested cohorts.By comparing the differential neutralization profiles,we found that a heterologous booster with an aerosolized vaccine following 2 doses of inactivated vaccine seemed to be superior to other vaccination strategies. | Airu Zhu Peilan Wei Miao Man Xuesong Liu Tianxing Ji Jiantao Chen Canjie Chen Jiandong Huo Yanqun Wang Jincun Zhao | 2023 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,4: | 1 |

| 8 | Numerical Investigation of the Influence of Fuel Concentration Gradient on Propane/Oxygen Detonation Propagation显示文摘In this paper,one-and two-dimensional numerical simulations are carried out to study the effects of fuel concentration gradients(such as steep,intermediate and shallow)on the detonation wave behavior.The equivalent ratio range of detonation propagation,the quenching mechanism and the change of cell size are discussed in detail.The simulation results show,as the fuel concentration gradient increases,the detonation wavefront decays faster and decouples into a leading shock and a following flame at equivalence ratios of 0.68,0.64 and 0.62,respectively.Moreover,there are two modes of the quenching mechanism.One occurs in the steep gradient that the detonation wave fails rapidly.The O_(2)in front of the detonation wave passes through the detonation wave and forms some unburned O_(2)pockets.The unburned pockets are affected by the marginal walls and reduce the heat release.The other occurs in the intermediate and shallow gradients that more triple points will survive in the flow field,which leads to a difference in the propagation speed of the detonation wavefront.This makes the detonation wavefront bent and deformed.The unburned O_(2)pockets are affected by the strong instability near the triple points and show different distribution characteristics compared with the steep gradient,which may be helpful to the detonation propagation.In addition,as the fuel concentration gradient increases,the triple points moving toward the wall gradually disappear while the triple points that move toward the center can continue to survive,which leads to the gradual increase in cell size and irregularity of the cell structure. | SHAO Xiaofeng WU Tianxing MENG Qingyang ZHAO Ningbo QI Lei ZHENG Hongtao | 2023 | Journal of Thermal Science2023,32,6: | 0 |
| 9 | Investigation on the Anisotropic Transformation Surfaces of Super-Elastic NiTi Shape Memory Alloys Under Multiaxial Cyclic Loading Conditions显示文摘The cyclic transformation behaviors of polycrystalline super-elastic NiTi shape memory alloys (SMAs)under multiaxial loading paths with different angles between axial and torsional loading orientations were experimentally investigated.The experimental results showed that the start stresses of forward and reverse transformations decreased with the increase'in the number of cycles and exhibit obvious anisotropic evolutions.The start stresses of forward and reverse transformations in the tensile and torsional directions did not satisfy the yon Mises criterion.The shape of transformation surface during the forward and reverse transformations evolved with the increase in the number of cycles.Then,new cyclic anisotropic transformation surfaces were established by introducing an anisotropic tensor into the von Mises equivalent stress based on a typical transformation criterion related to J2 and J3.Moreover,the evolution equations of material parameters used in the proposed transformation surfaces were established to describe the subsequent evolutions of transformation surfaces.Finally,the start stresses of forward and reverse transformations predicted using the proposed transformation surfaces were compared with the experimental results.It shows that the proposed transformation surfaces can reasonably describe the start stresses of forward and reverse transformations,which are helpful for establishing a three-dimensional cyclic constitutive model to describe the cyclic transformation behaviors of super-elastic NiTi SMAs. | Bo Qiu Qianhua Kan Tianxing Zhao Xi Xie Guozheng Kang | 2018 | Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2018,31,6: | 0 |
| 10 | Microwear analysis of a bone-handled microblade excavated at Shangzhai site in Beijing: Evidences from ESEM显示文摘The conventional wisdom has been challenged recently that microblades with handles are only tools for hunting and gathering in the Neolithic Age. Some scholars argued that microblades actually played an important part in the early agricultural development in the Neolithic. However, both of these opinions lacked direct evidence. Environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) is used to analyze the residues of the bone-handled microblade excavated at the Shangzhai site in Pinggu, Beijing. The ESEM observation and EDX analysis show that at the edge of this bone-handled microblade are Ca, P, C, O or C, N, O, etc, which provide direct evidence for determining its function, namely that this microblade may have been dealt with animals.
