| 1 | Renewable Energy Transmission by HVDC Across the Continent:System Challenges and Opportunities显示文摘Rapid development of renewable energy in China is driving a major shift in the characteristics and control requirements of the electricity grid.Since the best renewable energy resources are far away from load centers in the east and southeast,transmission over long distances is required.Over 20 high-voltage DC(HVDC)transmission lines,with a combined capacity exceeding 150 GW,are in operation or are currently under construction.This rapid expansion of new generation and transmission capacities based on power electronics starts to change the characteristics of the grid,especially in areas where they concentrate,creating new stability problems and operational challenges.New system theories and technologies are required to support the development and operation of a future grid that relies more and more on power electronics.This paper highlights the characteristics of power electronics as used in renewable energy generation and HVDC transmission systems,discusses the impacts of these power-electronics-based assets on grid stability and operational requirements,and identifies opportunities for the development of both new system theories and system technologies to support a national energy policy that emphasizes the use of clean energy. | Jian Sun Mingjie Li Zhigang Zhang Tao Xu Jingbo He Haijiao Wang Guanghui Li | 2017 | CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2017,3,4: | 43 |

| 3 | Characteristic-based operator-splitting finite element method for Navier-Stokes equations显示文摘A new finite element method, which is the characteristic-based operator-splitting (CBOS) algorithm, is developed to solve Navier-Stokes (N-S) equations. In each time step, the equations are split into the diffusive part and the convective part by adopting the operator-splitting algorithm. For the diffusive part, the temporal discretization is performed by the backward difference method which yields an implicit scheme and the spatial discretization is performed by the standard Galerkin method. The convective part can be discretized using the characteristic Galerkin method and solved explicitly. The driven square flow and backward-facing step flow are conducted to validate the model. It is shown that the numerical results agree well with the standard solutions or existing experimental data, and the present model has high accuracy and good stability. | 4 | A high-quality chromosome-level genome assembly reveals genetics for important traits in eggplant显示文摘Eggplant(Solanum melongena L.)is an economically important vegetable crop in the Solanaceae family,with extensive diversity among landraces and close relatives.Here,we report a high-quality reference genome for the eggplant inbred line HQ-1315(S.melongena-HQ)using a combination of Illumina,Nanopore and 10X genomics sequencing technologies and Hi-C technology for genome assembly.The assembled genome has a total size of~1.17 Gb and 12 chromosomes,with a contig N50 of 5.26 Mb,consisting of 36,582 protein-coding genes.Repetitive sequences comprise 70.09%(811.14 Mb)of the eggplant genome,most of which are long terminal repeat(LTR)retrotransposons(65.80%),followed by long interspersed nuclear elements(LINEs,1.54%)and DNA transposons(0.85%).The S.melongena-HQ eggplant genome carries a total of 563 accession-specific gene families containing 1009 genes.In total,73 expanded gene families(892 genes)and 34 contraction gene families(114 genes)were functionally annotated.Comparative analysis of different eggplant genomes identified three types of variations,including singlenucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs),insertions/deletions(indels)and structural variants(SVs).Asymmetric SV accumulation was found in potential regulatory regions of protein-coding genes among the different eggplant genomes.Furthermore,we performed QTL-seq for eggplant fruit length using the S.melongena-HQ reference genome and detected a QTL interval of 71.29–78.26 Mb on chromosome E03.The gene Smechr0301963,which belongs to the SUN gene family,is predicted to be a key candidate gene for eggplant fruit length regulation.Moreover,we anchored a total of 210 linkage markers associated with 71 traits to the eggplant chromosomes and finally obtained 26 QTL hotspots.The eggplant HQ-1315 genome assembly can be accessed at http://gffzz5f267e24f0a44240hkb90qkpnou956ouw.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn conclusion,the eggplant genome presented herein provides a global view of genomic divergence at the whole-genome level and powerful tools for the identification of candidate genes for important traits in eggplant. | Qingzhen Wei Jinglei Wang Wuhong Wang Tianhua Hu Haijiao Hu Chonglai Bao | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 12 |
| 5 | Online scheduling of image satellites based on neural networks and deep reinforcement learning显示文摘In the ‘‘Internet Plus' era, space-based information services require effective and fast image satellite scheduling. Most existing studies consider image satellite scheduling to be an optimization problem to solve with searching algorithms in a batch-wise manner. No real-time speed method for satellite scheduling exists. In this paper, with the idea of building a real-time speed method, satellite scheduling is remodeled based on a Dynamic and Stochastic Knapsack Problem(DSKP), and the objective is to maximize the total expected profit. No existing algorithm could be able to solve this novel scheduling problem properly. With inspiration from the recent achievements in Deep Reinforcement Learning(DRL) in video games, AlphaGo and dynamic controlling,a novel DRL-based method is applied to training a neural network to schedule tasks. | 6 | Yolk-shell Si/C composites with multiple Si nanoparticles encapsulated into double carbon shells as lithium-ion battery anodes显示文摘The conceptual design of yolk-shell structured Si/C composites is considered to be an effective way to improve the recyclability and conductivity of Si-based anode materials. Herein, a new type of yolk-shell structured Si/C composite (denoted as TSC-PDA-B) has been intelligently designed by rational engineering and precise control. In the novel structure, the multiple Si nanoparticles with small size are successfully encapsulated into the porous carbon shells with double layers benefiting from the strong etching effect of HF. The TSC-PDA-B product prepared is evaluated as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). The TSC-PDA-B product exhibits an excellent lithium storage performance with a high initial capacity of 2108 mAh g^-1 at a current density of 100 mA g^-1 and superior cycling performance of 1113 mAh g^-1 over 200 cycles. The enhancement of lithium storage performance may be attributed to the construction of hybrid structure including small Si nanoparticles, high surface area, and double carbon shells, which can not only increase electrical conductiv让y and intimate electrical contact with Si nanoparticles, but also provide built-in buffer voids for Si nanoparticles to expand freely without damaging the carbon layer. | 7 | Precipitation trends and variability from 1950 to 2000 in arid lands of Central Asia显示文摘Climate warming will cause differences in precipitation distribution and changes in hydrological cycle both at regional and global scales. Arid lands of Central Asia(ALCA), one of the largest arid regions at the middle latitudes in the world, is likely to be strongly influenced by climate warming. Understanding the precipitation variations in the past is an important prerequisite for predicting future precipitation trends and thus managing regional water resources in such an arid region. In this study, we used run theory, displacement, extreme deviation theory, precipitation concentration index(PCI), Mann-Kendall rank correlation and climatic trend coefficient methods to analyze the precipitation in wet and dry years, changes in precipitation over multiple-time scales, variability of precipitation and its rate of change based on the monthly precipitation data during 1950–2000 from 344 meteorological stations in the ALCA. The occurrence probability of a single year with abundant precipitation was higher than that of a single year with less precipitation. The average duration of extreme drought in the entire area was 5 years, with an average annual water deficit of 34.6 mm(accounting for 11.2% of the average annual precipitation over the duration). The occurrence probability of a single wet year was slightly higher than that of a single dry year. The occurrence probability of more than 5 consecutive wet years was 5.8%, while the occurrence probability of more than 5 consecutive dry years was 6.2%. In the center of the study area, the distribution of precipitation was stable at an intra-annual timescale, with small changes at an inter-annual timescale. In the western part of the study area, the monthly variation of precipitation was high at an inter-annual timescale. There were clear seasonal changes in precipitation(PCI=12–36) in the ALCA. Precipitation in spring and winter accounted for 37.7% and 24.4% of the annual precipitation, respectively. There was a significant inter-annual change in precipitation in the arid Northwest China(PCI=24–34). Annual precipitation increased significantly(P=0.05) in 17.4% of all the meteorological stations over the study period. The probability of an increase in annual precipitation was 75.6%, with this increase being significant(P=0.05) at 34.0% of all the meteorological stations. The average increasing rate in annual precipitation was 3.9 mm/10a(P=0.01) in the ALCA. | 10 | Phase equilibria for the pseudo-ternary system(NaCl+Na2SO4+H2O)of coal gasification wastewater at T=(268.15 to 373.15)K显示文摘The pseudo-ternary system(Na Cl + Na_2SO_4+ H_2O) of coal gasification wastewater was studied at T =(268.15 to 373.15) K. The solubility and density of the equilibrium liquid phase were determined by the isothermal solution saturation method. The equilibrium solids were also investigated by the Schreinemaker's method of wet residues and X-ray powder diffraction(XRD). According to the experimental data, the phase diagrams were determined. It was found that there was no significant solubility difference on the Na Cl-rich side between the ternary system(Na Cl + Na_2SO_4+ H_2O) in coal gasification wastewater and in pure water. However, the solubility on the Na_2SO_4-rich side of coal gasification wastewater was apparently higher than that of pure water. The increase in the solubility of Na_2SO_4 was most likely caused by the effects of other impurities apart from Na Cl and Na_2SO_4 in coal gasification wastewater. | 14 | Role of MR-DWI and MR-PWI in the radiotherapy of implanted pulmonary VX-2 carcinoma in rabbits显示文摘Objective: To detect the activity of tumor cells and tumor blood flow before and after the radiotherapy of implanted pulmonary VX-2 carcinoma in rabbit models by using magnetic resonance diffusion-weighted imaging(MR-DWI) and magnetic resonance perfusion weighted imaging(MR-PWI), and to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of the radiotherapy based on the changes in the MR-DWI and MR-PWI parameters at different treatment stages.Methods: A total of 56 rabbit models with implanted pulmonary VX-2 carcinoma were established, and then equally divided into treatment group and control group. MR-DWI and MR-PWI were separately performed using a Philips Acheiva 1.5T MRI machine(Philips, Netherland). MRI image processing was performed using special perfusion software and the WORKSPACE advanced workstation for MRI. MRDWI was applied for the observation of tumor signals and the measurement of apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC) values; whereas MR-PWI was used for the measurement of wash in rate(WIR), wash out rate(WOR), and maximum enhancement rate(MER). The radiation treatment was performed using Siemens PRIMUS linear accelerator. In the treatment group, the radiotherapy was performed 21 days later on a once weekly dosage of 1,000 c Gy to yield a total dosage of 5,000 c Gy.Results: The ADC parameters in the region of interest on DWI were as follows: on the treatment day for the implanted pulmonary VX-2 carcinoma, the t values at the center and the edge of the lesions were 1.352 and 1.461 in the treatment group and control group(P>0.05). During weeks 0-1 after treatment, the t values at the center and the edge of the lesions were 1.336 and 1.137(P>0.05). During weeks 1-2, the t values were 1.731 and 1.736(P<0.05). During weeks 2-3, the t values were 1.742 and 1.749(P<0.05). During weeks 3-4, the t values were 2.050 and 2.127(P<0.05). During weeks 4-5, the t values were 2.764 and 2.985(P<0.05). The ADC values in the treatment group were significantly higher than in the control group. After the radiotherapy(5,000 c Gy), the tumors remarkably shrank, along with low signal on DWI, decreased signal on ADC map, and remarkably increased ADC values. As shown on PWI, on the treatment day for the implanted pulmonary VX-2 carcinoma, the t values of the WIR, WOR, and MER at the center of the lesions were 1.05, 1.31, and 1.33 in the treatment group and control group(P>0.05); in addition, the t values of the WIR, WOR, and MER at the edge of the lesions were 1.35, 1.07, and 1.51(P>0.05). During weeks 0-1 after treatment, the t values of the WIR, WOR, and MER at the center of the lesions were 1.821, 1.856, and 1.931(P<0.05); in addition, the t values of the WIR, WOR, and MER at the edge of the lesions were 1.799, 2.016, and 2.137(P<0.05). During weeks 1-1 after treatment, the t values of the WIR, WOR, and MER at the center of the lesions were 2.574, 2.156, and 2.059(P<0.05) and the t values of the WIR, WOR, and MER at the edge of the lesions were 1.869, 2.058, and 2.057(P<0.05). During weeks 2-3 after treatment, the t values of the WIR, WOR, and MER at the center of the lesions were 2.461, 2.098, and 2.739(P<0.05) and the t values of the WIR, WOR, and MER at the edge of the lesions were 2.951, 2.625, and 2.154(P<0.05). During weeks 3-4 after treatment, the t values of the WIR, WOR, and MER at the center of the lesions were 2.584, 2.107, and 2.869(P<0.05) and the t values of the WIR, WOR, and MER at the edge of the lesions were 2.057, 2.637, and 2.951(P<0.05). During weeks 4-5 after treatment, the t values of the WIR, WOR, and MER at the center of the lesions were 2.894, 2.827, and 3.285(P<0.05) and the t values of the WIR, WOR, andMER at the edge of the lesions were 3.45, 3.246, and 3.614(P<0.05). | 16 | GSK3-mediated stress signaling inhibits legume-rhizobium symbiosis by phosphorylating GmNSP1 in soybean显示文摘Legumes establish symbiotic associations with rhizobia for biological nitrogen fixation.This process is highly regulated by various abiotic stresses,but the underlying genetic and molecular mechanisms remain largely unknown.In this study,we discovered that the glycogen synthase kinase 3(GSK3)-like kinase,GmSK2-8,plays an important role in inhibiting symbiotic signaling and nodule formation in soybean(Glycine max)under salt stress.We found that GmSK2-8 is strongly induced in soybean under high-salt conditions,while GmSK2-8 could interact with two G.max Nodulation Signaling Pathway 1(GmNSP1)proteins,GmNSP1a and GmNSP1b;these key transcription factors are essential for rhizobial infection,nodule initiation,and symbiotic gene expression in soybean.Furthermore,we demonstrated that GmSK2-8 phosphorylates the LHRI domain of GmNSP1a,inhibits its binding to the promoters of symbiotic genes,and thus suppresses nodule formation under salt stress.Knockdown of GmSK2-8 and its close homologs also resulted in reduced plant sensitivity to salt stress during nodule formation.Taken together,our findings indicate that GSK3-like kinases directly regulate the activities of GmNSP1s to mediate salt-inhibited legume–rhizobium symbiosis,providing novel targets for improving symbiotic nitrogen fixation under environmental stress conditions in soybean and possibly other legumes. | Chunmei He Hui Gao Haijiao Wang Yun Guo Miao He Yaqi Peng Xuelu Wang | 2021 | Molecular Plant2021,14,3: | 5 |
