1Radiotherapy in combination with systemic therapies for brain metastases:current status and progress显示文摘Brain metastases(BMs)are the most common cause of intracranial neoplasms in adults with poor prognosis.Most BMs originate from lung cancer,breast cancer,or melanoma.Radiotherapy(RT),including whole brain radiotherapy(WBRT)and stereotactic radiation surgery(SRS),has been widely explored and is considered a mainstay anticancer treatment for BMs.Over the past decade,the advent of novel systemic therapies has revolutionized the treatment of BMs.In this context,there is a strong rationale for using a combination of treatments based on RT,with the aim of achieving both local disease control and extracranial disease control.This review focuses on describing the latest progress in RT as well as the synergistic effects of the optimal combinations of RT and systemic treatment modalities for BMs,to provide perspectives on current treatments.Lei Liu Wanqi Chen Ruopeng Zhang Yuekun Wang Penghao Liu Xin Lian Fuquan Zhang Yu Wang Wenbin Ma 2020Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,4:5
2Current evidence and challenges of systematic therapies for adult recurrent glioblastoma: Results from clinical trials显示文摘Recurrence is a major concern for adult patients with glioblastomas(GBMs), and the prognosis remains poor.Although several therapies have been assessed, most of them have not achieved satisfactory results. Therefore, there is currently no standard treatment for adult recurrent GBM(r GBM). Here, we review the results of clinical trials for the systematic therapy of r GBM. Regorafenib, rindopepimut and neoadjuvant programmed death 1(PD-1)inhibitors are promising agents for r GBM, while regorafenib is effective in both O6-methylguanine DNA methyltransferase(MGMT) promoter methylated and unmethylated patients. Temozolomide rechallenge and alkylating agents combined with bevacizumab can be useful for patients with MGMT methylation, and patients with isocitrate dehydrogenase(IDH) mutations or second recurrence can benefit from vocimagene amiretrorepvec(Toca511). Some phase I trials on targeted therapy and immunotherapy have shown positive results, and results from further studies are expected. 3Altering membrane structure to enhance water permeability and performance of anion exchange membrane fuel cell显示文摘Water management has been proven significant for enhancing both performance and durability of anion exchange membrane fuel cell. Besides searching new material, decreasing membrane thickness and modifying operation parameters, a simple and universal method of altering membrane structure is proposed in this work. Composite membranes made by unique processing method that includes both casting and electrospinning processes were compared with traditional casting membrane, all with the same thickness of 40 μm. 4Supramolecular nanoparticles constructed by orthogonal assembly of pillar[5]arene-cyclodextrin dimacrocycle for chemo-photodynamic combination therapy显示文摘Chemotherapy combined with photodynamic therapy has emerged as a promising strategy for cancer treatment.However,simultaneously delivering chemotherapeutic drugs and photosensitizers and precisely adjusting the ratio of the two components as needed remains a challengeable task.Herein,novel supramolecular nanoparticles(donated as BODIPY-CPT-NPs)for chemo-photodynamic combination cancer therapy are constructed from a glutathione-responsive camptothecin-based prodrug,BODIPY photosensitizer,and dimacrocyclic host molecule through orthogonal host-guest recognitions and co-assembly.With this strategy,the ratio of prodrugs and photosensitizers in nanoparticles can be easily and precisely controlled as needed.Benefiting from the strong host-guest interactions and stable self-assembly,the nanoparticles exhibit excellent stability and photobleaching resistance.Furthermore,camptothecin can be released from nanoparticles for chemotherapy in the presence of reduction agent and single oxygen can be efficiently generated for PDT with light irradiation.The combined effects of the BODIPY-CPT-NPs have been verified in CT26 and HeLa cancer cells.Yongfei Yin Penghao Sun Hongqiang Dong Yi Chen Shigui Chen Lu Wang 2023Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,11:0

7Interface Engineering of Fe_(7)S_(8)/FeS_(2) Heterostructure in situ Encapsulated into Nitrogen‑Doped Carbon Nanotubes for High Power Sodium‑Ion Batteries显示文摘Heterostructure engineering combined with carbonaceous materials shows great promise toward promoting sluggish kinetics,improving electronic conductivity,and mitigating the huge expansion of transition metal sulfide electrodes for high-performance sodium storage.Herein,the iron sulfide-based heterostructures in situ hybridized with nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes(Fe_(7)S_(8)/FeS_(2)/NCNT)have been prepared through a successive pyrolysis and sulfidation approach.The Fe_(7)S_(8)/FeS_(2)/NCNT heterostructure delivered a high reversible capacity of 403.2 mAh g^(−1) up to 100 cycles at 1.0 A g^(−1) and superior rate capability(273.4 mAh g^(−1) at 20.0 A g^(−1))in ester-based electrolyte.Meanwhile,the electrodes also demonstrated long-term cycling stability(466.7 mAh g^(−1) after 1,000 cycles at 5.0 A g^(−1))and outstanding rate capability(536.5 mAh g^(−1) at 20.0 A g^(−1))in ether-based electrolyte.This outstanding performance could be mainly attributed to the fast sodium-ion diffusion kinetics,high capacitive contribution,and convenient interfacial dynamics in ether-based electrolyte.Penghao Song Jian Yang Chengyin Wang Tianyi Wang Hong Gao Guoxiu Wang Jiabao Li 2023Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,8:0
8Survival outcomes of conversion surgery for metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma after neoadjuvant therapy显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the survival outcomes of patients who underwent conversion surgery for metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(mPDAC)after neoadjuvant therapy(NAT)and to identify potential candidates that may benefit from this treat-ment strategy.Background:The role and eligibility population of conversion surgery for mPDAC remains controversial in the era of NAT.Methods:A consecutive cohort of patients diagnosed with mPDAC and treated with NAT followed by conversion surgery be-tween 2019 and 2021 were confirmed from a prospective database maintained by the Department of Pancreatic Hepatobiliary Surgery of Changhai Hospital.In accordance with residual metastases and technical resectability after NAT,patients were classi-fied as the complete pathological response of metastases(ypM0)resection group,residual metastases(ypM1)resection group,and exploration group.Median overall survival(mOS)was calculated using the Kaplan-Meier method,uni-and multivariable cox regression was performed to identify clinicopathological predictors of OS.Results:A total of 244 patients with mPDAC were identified from the prospective database,with 19(7.8%)patients who un-derwent ypM0 resection,22(9.0%)underwent ypM1 resection,and 23(9.4%)underwent explorative laparotomy.The mOS was 32.6 months for ypM0 resected patients,15.1 months for ypM1 resected patients,and 13.4 months for those who underwent explorative laparotomy(P<.001).Univariable and multivariable Cox regression analyses confirmed that ypM0 resection,normal-ization of preoperative CA19-9 levels,and continued adjuvant therapy were independent prognostic factors of conversion surgery for mPDAC after NAT.Subgroup analyses revealed that oligometastases and continued adjuvant therapy were associated with improved prognosis in the ypM1 resection group.Conclusion:In patients with mPDAC who underwent NAT followed by conversion surgery,the complete pathological response of metastases,normalization of preoperative CA19-9 levels,and continued adjuvant therapy were independent risk factors for prognosis.Patients with residual oligometastases after treatment were expected to prolong survival through resection.These patients may benefit from conversion surgery and should be potential candidates for this treatment strategy.Lingyu Zhu Suizhi Gao Xinqian Wu Bo Li Xiaohan Shi Xiaoyi Yin Huan Wang Meilong Shi Penghao Li Yikai Li Chaoliang Zhong Chuanqi Teng Jiawei Han Yiwei Ren Jian Wang Zhendong Fua Xinyu Liu Kailian Zheng Shiwei Guo Gang Jin 2023Journal of Pancreatology2023,6,3:0

11Three-dimensional crosslinked nanoarchitectonics of CoP@NC anchored on Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx with high ionic diffusion and enhanced sodium storage performance显示文摘Transition metal phosphides(CoP,etc.),featuring rich natural abundance and remarkable theoretical capacity,suffer from extremely poor rate capability and severe energy decay for sodium storage due to their huge volume change and low electronic conductivity.Herein,an elaborate hierarchical superstructure,nitrogen-doped carbon wrapped CoP in-situ anchored on Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx MXene(CoP@NC/Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx),was fabricated by crosslinking ZIF-67 on Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx flakes followed by successive carbonization and phosphorization.In principle,the dual modification for CoP nanoparticles through NC coating and Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx support can dramatically accelerate the ionic/electronic transportation and alleviate the structure change upon repeated sodiation/desodiation,thus leading to superior electrode integrity,modified ohmic polarization,and excellent electrochemical reversibility.Consequently,the elaborated hierarchical superstructure delivers impressive sodium storage performances with large capacity(396.06 mA$h/g at 0.1 A/g up to 100 cycles),robust rate performance(237.8 mA$h/g at 2.0 A/g),and satisfied cyclability(capacity retention of 81.3%at 1.0 A/g after 1,200 cycles).In principle,systematic electrochemical and characterizations measurements manifest that the high pseudocapacitive effect to charge storage,enhanced ionic diffusion kinetics,and remarkable electrochemical reversibility contribute to the impressive sodium storage performance of target CoP@NC/Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx.Importantly,the unique modification strategy reported in this study paves a way to fabricate high-performance electrode for SIBs.Zhihao Gu Jiabao Li Penghao Song Yu Wang Jian Yang Tianyi Wang Chengyin Wang 2023Journal of Materiomics2023,9,6:0
