1First identification of kdr allele F1534S in VGSC gene and its association with resistance to pyrethroid insecticides in Aedes albopictus populations from Haikou City,Hainan Island,China显示文摘Background:Aedes albopictus is distributed widely in China,as a primary vector of Dengue fever and Chikungunya fever in south of China.Chemical insecticide control is one of the integrated programmes to prevent mosquito-borne diseases.Long-term applications of pyrethroids have resulted in the development of resistance in Ae.albopictus populations in China.However,the susceptibility of Ae.albopictus to pyrethroids in Hainan Island was unclear.Knockdown resistance(kdr),caused by point mutations in the VGSC gene,is one of the mechanisms that confer resistance to DDT and pyrethroids.This study was to investigate the resistance level of Ae.albopictus populations in Haikou City to three pyrethroid insecticides,and elucidate the relationship between the resistant phenotype and kdr mutations.Methods:The Aedes albopictus samples were collected in Xinbu Island(XI),Longtang Town(LT),Shishan Town(ST),Baishamen Park(BP),and Flower Market(FM)from Haikou City,Hainan Island,China.The larval susceptibility to deltamethrin,permethrin and beta-cypermethrin was tested by larval bioassays,and adult susceptibility to deltamethrin and DDT was determined by adult bioassays.The degree of resistance was determined by resistance ratio value(RR50>3)for larvae and by mortality for adult.The kdr alleles at codon 1534 of the VGSC gene were genotyped.The relationship between kdr genotypes and resistant phenotypes was analyzed by Chi-square test.Results:Out of five populations,assessed by larval bioassays,XI was susceptible to deltamethrin and permethrin;LT was susceptible to permethrin and beta-cypermethrin;and ST was susceptible to permithrin.FM and BP both were resistant to all of the three pyrethroids,and FM showed the highest degree of resistance,with RR50 values from 65.17 to 436.36.A total of 493 individuals from the larval bioassays were genotyped for kdr alleles.Five alleles were detected,including two wildtype alleles,TTC(F)(67.04%)and TTT(F)(0.41%),and three mutant alleles,TGC(C)(0.30%),TCC(S)(31.54%)and TTG(L)(0.71%).There was a clear correlation between mutant alleles(or F1534S)and resistant phenotypes(P<0.01).Conclusion:Two novel kdr mutant alleles F1534S and F1534L were detected in the pyrethroid resistant populations of Ae.albopictus in Haikou Hainan,China.For the first time,the mutant F1534S was associated with pyrethroid resistance in Ae.albopictus.Huiying Chen Kaili Li Xiaohua Wang Xinyan Yang Yi Lin Fang Cai Wenbin Zhong Chunyan Lin Zhongling Lin Yajun Ma 2016Infectious Diseases of Poverty2016,5,1:19
2Commercial Production of Tiger Puffer(Takifugu rubripes)in Winter Using a Recirculating Aquaculture System显示文摘Tiger puffer(Takifugu rubripes) is a promising species for aquaculture production because of its high value and limited supply. However, in the north of China, using sea cages to culture this species in winter is hampered by the fact that the seawater temperature is extremely low. Here, a large scale commercial production of tiger puffer has been successfully realized using a recirculating aquaculture system(RAS) from 3 October 2012 to 31 May 2013. The RAS was comprised of nine culture tanks(total water volume 200 m3) and stocked with approximately a total of 14400 fish(initial mean weight 160 g). The tiger puffer was hand-fed at a rate of 0.7% of total body weight per day, and the feed conversion rate was(1.21 ± 0.3) kg kg-1. The recycle water in RAS was treated by a sieve bend screen, a foam fractionator, a submerged biofilter, an UV sterilizer and a submersible aerator. During the whole culture period, an excellent water quality control was achieved in RAS. At the end of this experiment, the survival rate of tiger puffer was more than 98%. 5Influence of the low-frequency source parameters on the plasma characteristics in a dual frequency capacitively coupled plasma reactor:Two dimensional simulations显示文摘A two-dimensional (2D) fluid model is presented to study the discharge of argon in a dual frequency capacitively coupled plasma (CCP) reactor. We are interested in the influence of low-frequency (LF) source parameters such as applied voltage amplitudes and low frequencies on the plasma characteristics. In this paper, the high frequency is set to 60 MHz with voltage 50 V. The simulations were carried out for low frequencies of 1, 2 and 6 MHz with LF voltage 100 V, and for LF voltages of 60, 90 and 120 V with low frequency 2 MHz. The results of 2D distributions of electric field and ion density, the ion flux impinging on the substrate and the ion energy on the powered electrode are shown. As the low frequency increases, two sources become from uncoupling to coupling. When two sources are uncoupling, the increase in LF has little impact on the plasma characteristics, but when two sources are coupling, the increase in LF decreases the uniformities of ion density and ion flux noticeably. 6A novel clustered SPIO nanoplatform with enhanced magnetic resonance T2 relaxation rate for micro-tumor detection and photothermal synergistic therapy显示文摘Construction of micro tumor sensitive theranostic nanoagents that can increase the accuracy of imaging diagnosis and boost the therapeutic efficacy has been demonstrated for a promising approach for diagnosis and treatment of cancer.Herein,we reported a novel super-paramagnetic iron oxide(SPIO)based nanoplatform that possess significantly enhanced magnetic resonance property and photothermal effect for tumor theranostic purpose.This polyethylene glycol with four phenylboronic acid(PEG-B4)/CNTs@porphyrin(ph)/SPIO(BCPS)nanoplatform was simply prepared via integrated SPIO,ph,and a novel dendrimer with PEG liner and four PBA groups(PEG-B4)on the surface of carbon nanotubes(CNTs).Subsequently,a significant T2 relaxation rate enhanced can be achieved by the reduced accessibility of water to SPIO clustering.Moreover,the synergetic enhanced photothermal from BCPS nanoplatform contributed to better photothermal effect for cancer therapy.Furthermore,the targeting ability to sialic acid overexpressed tumor was further introduced from phenylboronic acid from PEG-B4.We showed that BCPS nanoplatform could not only selectively identify solid tumors and detect micro-sized metastatic tumor(1 mm)in the liver,but also effectively ablate tumors in a xenograft model,thereby achieving a complete cure rate of 100%at low laser dose.Our results highlight the potential of BCPS nanoplatform for accurate micro-tumor diagnosis and effective tumor therapy.Hongwei Lu Yongjing Xu Ruirui Qiao Ziwei Lu Pin Wang Xindan Zhang An Chen Liming Zou Zhongling Wang 2020Nano Research2020,13,8:1

8Climate change filtered out resource-acquisitive plants in a temperate grassland in Inner Mongolia,China显示文摘Global climate change has led to the decline of species and functional diversity in ecosystems,changing community composition and ecosystem functions.However,we still know little about how species with different resource-use strategies(different types of resource usage and plant growth of plants as indicated by the spectrum of plant economic traits,including acquisitive resource-use strategy and conservative resource-use strategy)would change in response to climate change,and how the changes in the diversity of species with different resource-use strategies may influence community-level productivity.Here,using long-term(1982–2017)observatory data in a temperate grassland in Inner Mongolia,we investigated how climate change had affected the species richness(SR)and functional richness(FRic)for the whole community and for species with different resource-use strategies.Specifically,based on data for four traits representing leaf economics spectrum(leaf carbon concentration,leaf nitrogen concentration,leaf phosphorus concentration,and specific leaf area),we divided 81 plant species appearing in the grassland community into three plant functional types representing resource-acquisitive,medium,and resource-conservative species.We then analyzed the changes in community-level productivity in response to the decline of SR and FRic at the community level and for different resource-use strategies.We found that community-level SR and FRic decreased with drying climate,which was largely driven by the decline of diversity for resource-acquisitive species.However,community-level productivity remained stable because resource-conservative species dominating this grassland were barely affected by climate change.Our study revealed distinctive responses of species with different resource-use strategies to climate change and provided a new approach based on species functional traits for predicting the magnitude and direction of climate change effects on ecosystem functions.Heying Jing Xingshuo Xiong Feng Jiang Xucai Pu Wenhong Ma Daijiang Li Zhongling Liu Zhiheng Wang 2024Science China(Life Sciences)2024,67,2:0

10Developmental competence and ultrastructural changes of heat-stressed mouse early blastocysts produced in vitro显示文摘Mouse early blastocysts were exposed to temperatures of 39℃ and 41℃ for 2 h,respectively,to determine their developmental competence and ultrastructural changes. The results showed that heat stress at 41℃ for 2 h,significantly reduced the percentages of expanded and hatched blastocysts,but not at 39℃ for 2 h. The average cell numbers in expanded blastocysts,which developed from early blastocysts heat-stressed at temperatures of 39℃ and 41℃,were significantly reduced. The average cell numbers in hatched blastocysts subjected to heat stress were no different from those in the control group cultured at 37℃. The mitochondria of the early blastocysts heat-stressed at 39℃ for 2 h,were slightly swollen,but they had recovered after culturing at 37℃ for 2 h. However,the mitochondria in the blastocysts heat stressed at 41℃ for 2 h were severely swollen,and their number increased. The ribosomes shed from the rough endoplasmic reticulum,and the number of secondary lysosomes in the plasma increased. The integrity of desmosomes was disrupted. The space between the nuclear envelope and the perivitelline membrane enlarged. The fibre fraction and the particulate fraction of nucleoli were separated. The heterochromatin in nucleoli was also increased in its quantity. There were some lamellar-shape structures and heterogeneous dense materials exhibiting in the cytoplasm. The ultrastructural changes induced by heat shock at 41℃ for 2 h were not reversible. 11Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)MXene wrapped,carbon-coated porous Si sheets for improved lithium storage performance显示文摘Si-based materials have shown great potential as lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)anodes due to their natural reserves and high theoretical capacity.However,the large volume changes during cycles and poor conductivity of Si lead to rapid capacity decay and poor cycling stability,ultimately limiting their commercial applications.Herein,we have skillfully utilized the microporous MCM-22 zeolite as the unique silicon source to produce porous Si(pSi)sheets by a simple magnesiothermic reduction,followed by a carbon coating and further Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)MXene assembly,obtaining the ternary pSi@NC@TNSs composite.In the design,porous Si sheets provide more active sites and shorten Li-ion transport paths for electrochemical reactions.The N-doped carbon(NC)layer serves as a bonding layer to couple pSi and Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x).The conductive network formed by 2D Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)and medium NC layer effectively enhances the overall charge transport of the electrode material,and helps to stabilize the electrode structure.Therefore,the as-made pSi@NC@TNSs anode delivers an improved lithium storage performance,exhibiting a high reversible capacity of 925 mAh/g at 0.5 A/g after 100 cycles.This present strategy provides an effective way towards high-performance Si-based anodes for LIBs.Hui Cheng Yueming Liu Zhongling Cheng Xianying Wang Na Huang Haijiao Zhang 2024Chinese Chemical Letters2024,35,2:0
12Photoexcitation-induced passivation of SnO_(2) thin film for efficient perovskite solar cells显示文摘A high-quality tin oxide electron transport layer(ETL)is a key common factor to achieve high-performance perovskite solar cells(PSCs).However,the conventional annealing technique to prepare high-quality ETLs by continuous heating under near-equilibrium conditions requires high temperatures and a long fabrication time.Alternatively,we present a non-equilibrium,photoexcitation-induced passivation technique that uses multiple ultrashort laser pulses.The ultrafast photoexcitation and following electron–electron and electron–phonon scattering processes induce ultrafast annealing to efficiently passivate surface and bulk defects,and improve the crystallinity of SnO_(2),resulting in suppressing the carrier recombination and facilitating the charge transport between the ETL and perovskite interface.By rapidly scanning the laser beam,the annealing time is reduced to several minutes,which is much more efficient compared with conventional thermal annealing.To demonstrate the university and scalability of this technique,typical antisolvent and antisolvent-free processed hybrid organic–inorganic metal halide PSCs have been fabricated and achieved the power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 24.14%and 22.75%respectively,and a 12-square-centimeter module antisolvent-free processed perovskite solar module achieves a PCE of 20.26%,with significantly enhanced performance both in PCE and stability.This study establishes a new approach towards the commercialization of efficient low-temperature manufacturing of PSCs.Nianyao Chai Xiangyu Chen Zhongle Zeng Ruohan Yu Yunfan Yue Bo Mai Jinsong Wu Liqiang Mai Yi-Bing Cheng Xuewen Wang 2023National Science Review2023,10,11:0
13Excipient-free porphyrin/SN-38 based nanotheranostics for drug delivery and cell imaging显示文摘Nanotheranostics with comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities show exciting cancer treatment potentials.Here,we develop an excipient-free drug delivery system for cancer diagnosis as well as therapy,in which a near infra-red photosensitizer and a chemotherapeutic drug can be self-delivered without any carriers.The building block of the drug delivery system was synthesized by covalently conjugating four anticancer drugs(7-ethyl-10-hydroxy-camptothecin,SN-38)with a photosensitizer(porphyrin)via hydrolyzable ester linkage,which endows the drug delivery system with 100%active pharmaceutical ingredients,excellent imaging,and therapeutic functionalities.The conjugates can readily self-assemble into nanosheets(PS NSs)and remain stable for at least 20 days in aqueous solution.In PS NSs,fluorescence resonance energy transfer(FRET)dominates the fluorescence of SN-38 and enables to monitor the drug release fluorescentiy.The PS NSs also show excellent anticancer activity in vitro,due to the increased cell uptake with the synergistic effect of photodynamic therapy and chemotherapy.Ye Yuan Ruonan Bo Di Jing Zhao Ma Zhongling Wang Tzu-yin Lin Lijie Dong Xiangdong Xue Yuanpei Li 2020Nano Research2020,13,2:0
14Dual-ratiometric magnetic resonance tunable nanoprobe with acidic-microenvironment-responsive property to enhance the visualization of early tumor pathological changes显示文摘The development of microenvironment-responsive nanoprobes has shown great promise for use in magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),with the advantage of significantly improved specificity and good biocompatibility.However,the clinical application of responsive probes is hampered by a lack of biological sensitivity for early molecular diagnostics and visualizing microenvionment of metabolism reprogramming in tumor progression.Here,we report on a dual-ratiometric magnetic resonance tunable(DMRT)nanoprobe designed by crosslinking different ratios of transferrin chelating gadolinium and superparamagnetic nanoparticles,complexed to a pH responsive biocompatible polymer.This dually activatable nanoprobe enables pH-dependent tumor microenvironment visualization,providing exceptional quantitative pathophysiological information in vitro and in vivo.When used in combination with dual-contrast enhancement triple subtraction imaging technique(DETSI),this smart nanoprobe guarantees the diagnosis of early-stage diseases.We envisage that this novel integrated nanoplatform will provide a new paradigm for the clinical translation of robust DMRT nanoprobes for early disease detection and staging,as well as microenvironment visualization and disease progression monitoring.Rong Cao Ning Tang Yi Zhu An Chen Yumeng Li Renbin Ge Yuan Li Zhongyi Huang Jiajing Guo Jiali Deng Hongwei Lu Ziwei Lu Helen Forgham Thomas PDavis Ruirui Qiao Zhongling Wang 2023Nano Research2023,16,7:0
