1Microvascular decompression in patients with hemifacial spasm: report of 1200 cases显示文摘Background Microvascular Decompression (MVD) operation is the most reliable treatment for hemifacial spasm (HFS), but it causes many complications. The aim of this retrospective study was to investigate the factors relavent to the effects and postoperative complications of microvascular decompression on hemifacial spasm. Methods A total of 1200 HFS patients treated with MVD were studied retrospectively. The root exit zone (REZ) of the facial nerve was exposed through the infraflocculus approach, the offending vessels were identified and separated from the REZ, and a Teflon graft was interposed between the offending vessels and the brain stem. Brain stem auditory evoked potential (AEP) was monitored intraoperatively. Results The offending vessels can be identified in all patients. The anteroinferior cerebellar artery was the main offending vessel (42.6%). Patients with vertebral artery compression had a multiple vascular compression fashion. Follow-up for 2-10 years (mean 4.2 years) showed that 88.7% patients were cured and 5.6% relieved, with an effective rate of 94.3%. Recurrence rate was 3.2%, and the ineffective rate was 2.6%. The most frequent complication was hearing dysfunction (2.8%). Conclusions MVD is the most definitive treatment method of HFS. The key procedures of this operation include adequate exposure of the REZ, identification of the offending vessels, and proper positioning of Teflon grafts. 2SHRIMP U-Pb zircon ages for the UHP metamorphosed granitoid gneiss in Altyn Tagh and their geological significance显示文摘Cathodoluminescence (CL) and mineral inclu- sions investigations show that zircons from Yinggelisayi UHP metamorphosed granitoid gneiss in Altyn Tagh exhibit core-mantle-rim internal texture with magmatic residual core, the metamorphic overgrowth mantle and the late stage rim. SHRIMP 206 Pb/238U ages of 5 spots from the mantles vary from 484±11 to 491±12 Ma with Th/U ratios from 0.01 to 0.03, yielding a weighted average age of 487±10 Ma (2σ ) as the age of the UHP metamorphosed granitoid gneiss. The 206Pb/238U ages from the oscillatory zoned cores range from 809±19 to 885±21 Ma with Th/U ratios ranging from 0.42 to 0.83, which are interpreted as the crystallization age of the protolith of the granitoid gneiss. The metamorphic age (487±10 Ma) of the UHP metamorphosed granitoid gneiss, well consistent with the peak metamorphic age (about 500 Ma) of the UHP eclogite with crystallization age of the proto- lith between 809±19 and 885±21 Ma at Jianggelisayi in west- ern Altyn Tagh, indicates the existence of a UHPM belt along the south margin of the Altyn Tagh as a result of deep sub- duction during Early Paleozoic age of previously existing continental crust.ZHANGAnda LIULiang SUNYong CHENDanling WANGYan LUOJinhai 2004Chinese Science Bulletin2004,49,23:21
3Is graphite lithiophobic or lithiophilic?显示文摘Graphite and lithium metal are two classic anode materials and their composite has shown promising performance for rechargeable batteries.However,it is generally accepted that Li metal wets graphite poorly,causing its spreading and infiltration difficult.Here we show that graphite can either appear superlithiophilic or lithiophobic,depending on the local redox potential.By comparing the wetting performance of highly ordered pyrolytic graphite,porous carbon paper(PCP),lithiated PCP and graphite powder,we demonstrate that the surface contaminants that pin the contact-line motion and cause contact-angle hysteresis have their own electrochemical-stability windows.The surface contaminants can be either removed or reinforced in a time-dependent manner,depending on whether the reducing agents(C6→Li C6)or the oxidizing agents(air,moisture)dominate in the ambient environment,leading to bifurcating dynamics of either superfast or superslow wetting.Our findings enable new fabrication technology for Li–graphite composite with a controllable Li-metal/graphite ratio and present great promise for the mass production of Li-based anodes for use in high-energy-density batteries.Jian Duan Yuheng Zheng Wei Luo Wangyan Wu Tengrui Wang Yong Xie Sa Li Ju Li Yunhui Huang 2020National Science Review2020,7,7:8
4Expression of T cell factor-4 in non-small-cell lung cancer显示文摘Background T cell factor 4 (TCF 4) plays an important role in development and carcinogenesis Recently, the role of TCF 4 has been described in colon cancer and other cancers However, whether TCF 4 plays a similar role in lung cancer is unknown To answer this question, we studied the expression of TCF 4 protein and mRNA in nonsmallcell lung cancer (NSCLC) and the relation of TCF 4 expression pattern to histological type and cell differentiation Methods Tissue samples from sixty cases of pathologically diagnosed NSCLC and eight normal tissue samples were obtained between September 2001 and March 2003 Immunohistochemistry was used to investigate the distribution of TCF 4 protein The staining patterns of the tumors were divided into 4 categories: nuclear staining alone or nuclear staining greater than cytoplasmic staining; cytoplasmic staining or cytoplasmic staining greater than nuclear staining; equal nuclear and cytoplasmic staining; no nuclear staining or cytoplasmic staining The integrated optical density (OD) values of all sections were analyzed by UIC MetaMorph image analysis software The expression of TCF 4 mRNA was detected by onestep reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction (RTPCR) The integrated density values of the PCR products were analyzed semiquantitatively Results Immunohistochemistry showed that there was no expression of TCF 4 in normal tissue However, TCF 4 was expressed in 86.7% (52/60) of NSCLC samples, mainly in the nuclei of tumor cells Furthermore, there was a significant difference in TCF 4 localization patterns between squamous cell carcinomas and adenocarcinomas (P<005) The integrated OD values of TCF 4 expression was significantly higher in tumors with moderatepoor cell differentiation than in well differentiated tumors (5163±667 vs 4613±1231, P<001) There was no TCF 4 mRNA expression in normal tissue However, 63.9% (23/36) of carcinoma samples expressed TCF 4 mRNA TCF 4 mRNA expression was significantly higher in tumors with moderatepoor cell differentiation than in well differentiated tumors (P<005) There were no significant differences in mRNA expression in comparison with histological type Conclusions The subcellular distribution of TCF 4 may correlate with NSCLC histological type High expression of TCF 4 mRNA and protein may be associated with the degree of cell differentiation inLIChun-yan WANGYan CUIZe-shi WANGEn-hua 2005Chinese Medical Journal2005,,2:8
5Size of Microbial Biomass in Soils of China显示文摘The microbial biomass C,N and P of soils all over China were determined in this study to study their affecting factors.The results,about 100-417 mg C kg^-1 soil,18-51 mg Nkg^-1 soil and 4.4-27.3mg P kg^-1 soil,showed the biomass C,N and P in linear relationship with the soil total organic C,toal N and soil organic P.The ratios of C:Nand C:P,ranging from 5.6 to 9.6 and from 11.2 to 48.4 respectively,were affected by soil pH.texture,crop rotation,macroclimate etc.The ratio of C:N in soil biomass increases gradually from the north to the south in China.WANGYAN SHENQIRONG 等 1996Pedosphere1996,6,3:7
6Design and application of 60mer oligonucleotide microarray in SARS coronavirus detection显示文摘The 60mer oligonucleotide microarray was designed and applied to detecting of SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) coronavirus. Thirty 60mer specific oligos were designed to cover the whole genome of the first submitted coronavirus strain, according to the sequence of TOR2 (GENEBANK Accession: AY274119). These primers were synthesized and printed into a microarray with 12×12 spots. RNAs were extracted from the throat swab and gargling fluid of SARS patients and reverse-transcripted into the double strand cDNAs. The cDNAs were prepared as restricted cDNA fragments by the restriction display (RD) technique and labeled by PCR with the Cy5-universal primer. The labeled samples were then applied to the oligo microarray for hybridization. The diagnostic capability of the microarray was evaluated after the washing and scanning steps. The scanning result showed that samples of SARS patients were hybridized with multiple SARS probes on the microarray, and there is no signal on the negative and blank controls. These results indicate that the genome of SARS coronavirus can be detected in parallel by the 60mer oligonucleotide microarray, which can improve the positive ratio of the diagnosis. 7Atmospheric Corrosion of Copper Exposed in a Simulated Coastal-Industrial Atmosphere显示文摘The corrosion behavior of copper exposed in a simulated coastal-industrial atmosphere has been investigated using weight loss measurement, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, potentiodynamic polarization and in-situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) with micro-distance electrodes.The results show that corrosion kinetics follows the empirical equation D = Atn. The main corrosion products are composed of Cu_2O, Cu_2Cl(OH)_3 and Cu_4Cl_2(OH)_6. A two-layer structure comprising a loose outer layer and a compact inner layer forms the corrosion products during corrosion process. 8Effects of temperature on UV-B-induced DNA damage and photorepair in Arabidopsis thaliana显示文摘DNA damage in the form of cyclobutane pyrimidine dimers(CPDs) and (6-4) photoproducts(6-4PPs) induced by UV-B radiation in Arabidopsis thaliana at different temperatures was investigated using ELISA with specific monoclonal antibodies. CPDs and 6-4PPs increased during 3 h UV-B exposure, but further exposure led to decreases. Contrary to the commonly accepted view that DNA damage induced by UV-B radiation is temperature-independent because of its photochemical nature, we found UV-B-induction of CPDs and 6-4PPs in Arabidopsis to be slower at a low than at a high temperature. Photorepair of CPDs at 24℃ was much faster than that at 0℃ and 12℃, with 50% CPDs removal during 1 h exposure to white light. Photorepair of 6-4PPs at 12℃ was very slow as compared with that at 24℃, and almost no removal of 6-4PPs was detected after 4 h exposure to white light at 0℃. 11Age structure and dynamics of Zoysia japonica module population显示文摘The age structure of the natural Zoysia japonica clonal population at Qipan Mountain in Huishan Scenic Spot of Shenyang,Liaoning Province, China was studied using the morphological method in 2003 and 2004. The dynamics of leaves were recorded and the dynamics of tiller and rhizome in the growing season were observed. The results indicated that the rhizomes formed in different years changed in color and rigidity. Its internodes produced in autumn became shorter. The number of naked nodes changed with the tiller age.Rhizome and tiller characters were used as a foundation for judging the ages of modules in this study. The longevity of tiller and rhizome was 3 years at most. At the beginning of the growing season, 2-year-old tillers and rhizomes predominated. Then I -year-old tillers and rhizomes increased rapidly and became dominant in July. The proportion of buds to tillers on quantity was stable at about 30% in the mid-phase of the growing season and rose to about 50% in autumn. The seasonal dynamics of tiller, rhizome and bud was very important to guarantee the sustained existence of the Zoysia japonica population. 12A writable lithium metal ink显示文摘The recent revival of Li metal anodes(LMA)leads to a renewed interest in LMA as the ultimate choice for rechargeable lithium batteries towards high energy density.However,multiple challenges stand in the way of using LMA,of which high reactivity,dendrite growth,the difficulty of fabricating Li thin foils,and the flammability of organic liquid electrolytes are typical.Here,a writable Li metal ink(LMI)prepared by introducing biomass-derived carbon particles into molten Li is presented.Due to the significantly decreased surface tension,LMI is able to directly write on copper foils or other substrates that ultrathin Li foils with a remarkably small thickness(<10μm)can be achieved.The versatility of LMI is further demonstrated in addressing the interface issue between LMA and garnet-type solid-state electrolytes,where directly writing LMI on the garnet offers a perfect contact and enables an extremely low interfacial resistance of 6Ωcm^2,in sharp contrast to 939Ωcm^2 between the pure Li and the garnet.Due to the successful partnership with non-flammable solid-state electrolytes,ink-based technology may have a chance to bring us very close to the use of solid-state lithium metal batteries(SSLMBs)with high safety and high energy density.Wangyan Wu Jian Duan Jiayun Wen Yuwei Chen Xuyang Liu Liqiang Huang Zhengfeng Wang Shengyuan Deng Yunhui Huang Wei Luo 2020Science China Chemistry2020,63,10:2
