| 1 | Tianshanbeilu and the Isotopic Millet Road: reviewing the late Neolithic/Bronze Age radiation of human millet consumption from north China to Europe显示文摘The westward expansion of human millet consumption from north China has important implications for understanding early interactions between the East and West.However,few studies have focused on the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region,the vast geographical area directly linking the ancient cultures of the Eurasian Steppe and the Gansu Corridor of China.In this study,we present the largest isotopic investigation of Bronze Age China(n=110)on material from the key site of Tianshanbeilu,in eastern Xinjiang.The large range ofδ13C values(–17.6 to–7.2;–15.5±1.2)provides direct evidence of unique dietary diversity and consumption of significant C4 resources(millets).The highδ15N results(10.3 to 16.7;14.7±0.8)likely reflect sheep/goat and wild game consumption and the arid climate of the Taklamakan Desert.Radiocarbon dates from four individuals indicate Tianshanbeilu was in use between 1940 and1215 cal bc.The Tianshanbeilu results are then analysed with respect to 52 Bronze Age sites from across Eurasia,to investigate the spread and chronology of significant human millet consumption and human migration.This isotopic survey finds novel evidence that the second millennium bc was a dynamic period,with significant dietary interconnectivity occurring between north China,Central Asia and Siberia.Further,we argue that this‘Isotopic Millet Road’extended all the way to the Mediterranean and Central Europe,and conclude that these C4 dietary signatures of millet consumption reflect early links(migration and/or resource transfer)between the Bronze Age inhabitants of modern-day China and Europe. | Tingting Wang Dong Wei Xien Chang Zhiyong Yu Xinyu Zhang Changsui Wang Yaowu Hu Benjamin T.Fuller | 2019 | National Science Review2019,6,5: | 8 |
| 2 | Fracture Assessment for Electron Beam Welded Damage Tolerant Ti-6Al-4V Alloy by the FITNET Procedure显示文摘Fracture assessment of the cracked structures is essential to avoiding fracture failure.A number of fracture assessment procedures have been proposed for various steel structures.However,the studies about the application of available procedures for titanium alloy structures are scarcely reported.Fracture assessment for the electron beam(EB) welded thick-walled damage tolerant Ti-6Al-4V(TC4-DT) alloy is performed by the fitness-for-service(FFS) FITNET procedure.Uniaxial tensile tests and fracture assessment tests of the base metal and weld metal are carried out to obtain the input information of assessment.The standard options and advanced options of FITNET FFS procedure are used to the fracture assessment of the present material.Moreover,the predicted maximum loads of compact tensile specimen using FITNET FFS procedure are verified with the experimental data of fracture assessment tests.As a result,it is shown that the mechanical properties of weld metal are inhomogeneous along the weld depth.The mismatch ratio M is less than 10% at the weld top and middle,whereas more than 10% at the weld bottom.Failure assessment lines of standard options are close to that of advanced option,which means that the standard options are suitable for fracture assessment of the present welds.The accurate estimation of the maximum loads has been obtained by fracture assessment of standard options with error less than 6%.Furthermore,there are no potential advantages of applying higher options or mismatch options.Thus,the present welded joints can be treated as homogeneous material during the fracture assessment,and standard option 1 can be used to achieve accurate enough results.This research provides the engineering treatment methods for the fracture assessment of titanium alloy and its EB welds. | LU Wei SHI Yaowu LI Xiaoyan LEI Yongping | 2013 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2013,26,5: | 3 |
| 3 | Limit Load Solution for Electron Beam Welded Joints with Single Edge Weld Center Crack in Tension显示文摘Limit loads are widely studied and several limit load solutions are proposed to some typical geometry of weldments.However,there are no limit load solutions exist for the single edge crack weldments in tension(SEC(T)),which is also a typical geometry in fracture analysis.The mis-matching limit load for thick plate with SEC(T) are investigated and the special limit load solutions are proposed based on the available mis-matching limit load solutions and systematic finite element analyses.The real weld configurations are simplified as a strip,and different weld strength mis-matching ratio M,crack depth/width ratio a/W and weld width 2H are in consideration.As a result,it is found that there exists excellent agreement between the limit load solutions and the FE results for almost all the mis-matching ration M,a/W and ligament-to-weld width ratio(W-a)/H.Moreover,useful recommendations are given for evaluating the limit loads of the EBW structure with SEC(T).For the EBW joints with SEC(T),the mis-matching limit loads can be obtained assuming that the components are wholly made of base metal,when M changing from 1.6 to 0.6.When M decreasing to 0.4,the mis-matching limit loads can be obtained assuming that the components are wholly made of base metal only for large value of(W-a)/H.The recommendations may be useful for evaluating the limit loads of the EBW structures with SEC(T).The engineering simplifications are given for assessing the limit loads of electron beam welded structure with SEC(T). | LU Wei SHI Yaowu LI Xiaoyan LEI Yongping | 2012 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2012,25,3: | 3 |
| 4 | Malaria from hyperendemicity to elimination along international borders in Yunnan, China during 2003‒2020: a case study显示文摘Background: Border malaria is one of the most intractable problems hindering malaria elimination worldwide.Movement of both the human population and anopheline mosquitoes infected with Plasmodium spp.can cause cross-border malaria transmission.The Yunnan border area was still hyperendemic for malaria in the early part of this century.The objective of this case study was to analyze the strategies,interventions and impacts of malaria control and elimination in the Yunnan border area.Main text: A total of 10,349 malaria cases and 17.1 per 10,000 person-years of annual parasite incidence(API)were reported in the border area in 2003.Based on natural village-based stratification,integrated interventions,including mass drug administration for radical cures and preventive treatment,clinically presumptive treatment of all febrile patients for malaria and indoor residual spraying or dipping bed nets with insecticides were successfully carried out from 2003 to 2013.The overall API was reduced to 0.6 per 10,000 person-years by 2013,while effective cross-border collaboration interventions dramatically reduced the malaria burden in the neighbouring border areas of Myanmar.From 2014 forward,the comprehensive strategy,including universal coverage of surveillance to detect malaria cases,a rapid response to possible malaria cases and effective border collaboration with neighbouring areas,successfully eliminated malaria and prevented reintroduction of malaria transmission in the Yunnan border area.Conclusions: In Yunnan malaria burden has successfully reduced by dynamically accurate stratification and comprehensive interventions;and then the region achieved elimination and prevented reintroduction of malaria transmission through intensive surveillance,rapid response and border collaboration.Other border areas should perform their own intervention trials to develop their own effective strategy. | Hui Liu Yaowu Zhou Yan Deng Zurui Lin Canglin Zhang Qiyan Chen Chun Wei Kaixia Duan Peng Tian Hongning Zhou Jianwei Xu | 2022 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2022,11,3: | 1 |
| 5 | Effect of WO3 on Hydration Resistance of CaO Aggregate Prepared by Thermal Decomposition显示文摘The application of CaO refractories was limited due to its poor hydration resistance.Introducing appropriate additive is an effective way to improve its hydration resistance.Additive WO3 was introduced in the preparation of CaO aggregates using calcination method in this study.The introduction of WO3 decreased the apparent porosity of CaO aggregates and promoted the grain growth of CaO by the formation of liquid at high temperatures.The average grain size of the specimens with 0.4 mass%WO3 and treated at 1550℃was increased to 51.6μm comparing to 33.5μm that without WO3 additive.As a result,the hydration resistance of CaO aggregate was significantly improved.Besides,WO3 sublimate easily,therefore,less WO3 was remained after the heat treatment.The further increase of WO3 addition had little effect on the hydration resistance of CaO specimens. | ZHANG Tao WEI Yaowu LI Nan LI Bingrong WANG Jinhu | 2020 | China's Refractories2020,29,3: | 1 |

| 9 | The influence of agriculture in the process of population integration and cultural interaction during the Eastern Zhou Period in central-south, Inner Mongolia: Carbon and nitrogen stable isotope analysis of human bones from the Dabaoshan cemetery, Helingee显示文摘Central-south Inner Mongolia, China, is highly sensitive to the cultural interactions between sedentary agriculturalists and nomadic pastoralists during the Eastern Zhou Period(770–256 BC). The previous pattern of multiple cultures and diverse ethnic groups has been transformed to the increasingly dominated cultural system of Central Plain since the middle and late Warring States Period, when the states of Zhao and Qin have conquered the most parts of central-south Inner Mongolia.However, the variation of subsistence strategies during this historical process has never been evaluated. Particularly, as the typical representative of Central Plain cultures, the effect of intensive millet agriculture is still unknown in the process of population integration and culture interaction. Thus, to explore the shift of subsistence pattern, carbon and nitrogen stable isotope analysis of bone collagen from Dabaoshan site(410–180 BC) have been performed. The isotopic result indicates a large amount of C_4-based animal protein consumed by Dabaoshan humans. According to the archaeological backgrounds, we propose the Dabaoshan persons intensively relied on the millet agriculture and developed the agro-pastoral economy, which hinted the comprehensive influences from Central plain civilizations in late Warring States Period. | 11 | Liquid chemical looping gasification of biomass:Thermodynamic analysis on cellulose显示文摘Liquid chemical looping technology is an innovation of chemical looping conversion technology.Using liquid metal oxide as the oxygen carrier during gasification process could prolong the service life of oxygen carrier and improve the process efficiency.In this paper,based on Gibbs minimum free energy method,the thermodynamic characteristics of biomass liquid chemical looping gasification were studied.Cellulose and lignin,the main components of biomass,were taken as the research objects.Bismuth oxide and antimony oxide were selected as liquid oxygen carriers.The results showed that when the temperature increased from 600℃to 900℃,the output of H_(2)and CO in the products of cellulose gasification increased from 0.5 and 0.3 kmol to 1.3 and 2.6 kmol respectively.Different ratios of oxygen carriers to gasification raw materials had the best molar ratio.The addition of steam in the system was beneficial to the increase of H_(2)content and the increase of H_(2)/CO molar ratio.Bi_(2)O_(3)and Sb_(2)O_(3)with different mass ratios were used as mixed oxygen carriers.The simulation results showed that the gasification temperature of biomass with different mixed oxygen carriers had the same equilibrium trend products.It could be seen from the results of product distribution that the influence of the mixing ratio of Bi_(2)O_(3)and Sb_(2)O_(3)on gas product distribution could be neglected.These results could provide simulation reference and data basis for subsequent research on liquid chemical looping gasification. | Wei Guo Bo Zhang Jie Zhang Zhiqiang Wu Yaowu Li Bolun Yang | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,9: | 0 |
| 12 | Aggregation-induced emission luminogens for highly effective microwave dynamic therapy显示文摘Aggregation-induced emission luminogens(AIEgens)exhibit efficient cytotoxic reactive oxygen species(ROS)generation capability and unique light-up features in the aggregated state,which have been well explored in image-guided photodynamic therapy(PDT).However,the limited penetration depth of light in tissue severely hinders AIEgens as a candidate for primary or adjunctive therapy for clinical applications.Coincidentally,microwaves(MWs)show a distinct advantage for deeper penetration depth in tissues than light.Herein,for the first time,we report AIEgen-mediated microwave dynamic therapy(MWDT)for cancer treatment.We found that two AIEgens(TPEPy-I and TPEPy-PF6)served as a new type of microwave(MW)sensitizers to produce ROS,including singlet oxygen(1O2),resulting in efficient destructions of cancer cells.The results of 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide(MTT)and live/dead assays reveal that the two AIEgens when activated by MW irradiation can effectively kill cancer cells with average IC-50 values of 2.73 and 3.22μM,respectively.Overall,the ability of the two AIEgens to be activated by MW not only overcomes the limitations of conventional PDT,but also helps to improve existing MW ablation therapy by reducing the MW dose required to achieve the same therapeutic outcome,thus reducing the occurrence of side-effects of MW radiation. | Nil Kanatha Pandey Wei Xiong Lingyun Wang Wei Chen Brian Bui Jian Yang Eric Amador Mingli Chen Christina Xing Aseem Atul Athavale Yaowu Hao Wirya Feizi Lloyd Lumata | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,1: | 0 |
| 13 | Effects of Refractories on the Total Oxygen Content and Inclusions in the IF Steel显示文摘The effects of refractories of quartz-corundun consisting of 45 mass % quartz and 55 mass % corundum , fused corundum and fused magnesia on the total axygen content ( TOC ) and the composition of inclusions in interstitial free( IF) steel were studied.3 mass% microsilica was added into the three refractories as binder. The refractories were shaped as lining of the graphite crucible by castable method .IF steel was placed in the crucibles,then they were heated at 1600℃ for 90 min and 45 min respectively.Oxygen contents of the steel samples were obtained by axygen determinator . Inclutsions were analyzed by SEM and EDS.The results show that the TOC of steel increased with increase of Index of Oxygen Potential ( IOP ) of the refractories . | 14 | Effect of La_2O_3 Addition on Hydration Properties of CaO Clinker显示文摘To obtain CaO clinker with high density,low porosity,and good hydration resistance,the effect of the La_-2O_3 content on physical properties,such as sintering property and hydration resistance of CaO clinker was researched in this paper. Apparent porosity and bulk density were measured by Archimedes principle with kerosene as the medium. Two methods were used to test hydration resistance of CaO clinker. One was carried out in a humidity cabinet at 20 ℃ with 90% of relative humidity.Another was the boiling method. SEM and EDS characterization analyses of CaO clinker were performed to observe the microstructural information and the hydration mechanism was put forward. The results show that:(1)the specimen with 0. 79 mass% of La_2O_3 addition has lower apparent porosity,and higher bulk density;(2)the hydration mass gain of CaO clinker with 0.79 mass% La_2O_3 addition is lower,which is less than 1% after 20 days;(3) La_2O_3 mainly distributes in the grain boundary,and a small amount of La_2O_3 dissolves in grains.
