| 2 | Identification and characterization of rice blast resistance gene Pid4 by a combination of transcriptomic profiling and genome analysis显示文摘Map-based cloning of plant disease resistance (R) genes is time-consuming. Here, we reported the isolation of blast R gene Pid4 using comparative transcriptomic profiling and genome-wide sequence analysis. Pid4 encodes a coiled-coil nucleotide-binding site leucine-rich repeat(CC-NBS-LRR) protein and is constitutively expressed at diverse developmental stages in the rice variety Digu. The Pid4 protein is localized in both the nucleus and cytoplasm. Introduction of Pid4 into susceptible rice cultivars confers race-specific resistance to leaf and neck blast. Amino acid sequence comparison and blast resistance spectrum tests showed that Pid4 is a novel R gene, different from the previously reported R genes located in the same gene cluster. A Pid4 Indel marker was developed to facilitate the identification of Pid4 in different rice varieties. | 3 | mTERF5 Acts as a Transcriptional Pausing Factor to Positively Regulate Transcription of Chloroplast psbEFLJ显示文摘RNA polymerase transcriptional pausing represents a major checkpoint in transcription in bacteria and metazoans,but it is unknown whether this phenomenon occurs in plant organelles.Here,we report that transcriptional pausing occurs in chloroplasts.We found that mTERF5 specifically and positively regulates the transcription of chloroplast psbEFLJ in Arabidopsis thaliana that encodes four key subunits of photosystem II.We found that mTERF5 causes the plastid-encoded RNA polymerase(PEP)complex to pause at psbEFLJ by binding to the+30 to+51 region of double-stranded DNA.Moreover,we revealed that mTERF5 interacts with pTAC6,an essential subunit of the PEP complex,although pTAC6 is not involved in the transcriptional pausing at psbEFLJ.We showed that mTERF5 recruits additional pTAC6 to the transcriptionally paused region of psbEFLJ,and the recruited pTAC6 proteins could be assembled into the PEP complex to regulate psbEFLJ transcription.Taken together,our findings shed light on the role of transcriptional pausing in chloroplast transcription in plants. | Shunhua Ding Yi Zhang Zhi Hu Xiahe Huang Bohan Zhang Qingtao Lu Xiaogang Wen Yingchun Wang Congming Lu | 2019 | Molecular Plant2019,12,9: | 6 |
| 4 | MnO_(2) cathode materials with the improved stability via nitrogen doping for aqueous zinc-ion batteries显示文摘The research and exploration of manganese-based aqueous zinc-ion batteries have been controversial of cycle stability and mechanism investigation,thus improving the stability and exploring storage mechanism are still the most main issue.Defect engineering has become an effective method to improve cycle stability.Herein,a nitrogen-doped ε-MnO_(2)(MnO_(2)@N)has been prepared using electrochemical deposition and heat treatment under nitrogen atmosphere.As the cathode for zinc-ion batteries,the capacity retention rate of MnO_(2)@N cathode is close to 100%after 500 cycles at 0.5 A g^(-1),while the capacity retention rate for the initial MnO_(2) cathode is 62%.At 5 A g^(-1),the capacity retention rate of MnO_(2)@N cathode is 83%after 1000 cycles,which is much higher than the 27%capacity retention rate for the original MnO_(2) cathode.And it can be found that the oxygen vacancies increase after nitrogen doping,which can improve the conductivity of the MnO_(2)@N cathode.Also,there is Mn-N bond in MnO_(2)@N,which can enhance the electrochemical stability of MnO_(2)@N cathode.In addition,the electrochemical mechanism of MnO_(2)@N cathode has been explored by the CV,GCD and GITT tests.It is found that nitrogen doping promotes the intercalation of H^(+) and the corresponding capacity contribution.Compared with the original MnO_(2) cathode,the diffusion coefficient of H^(+) and Zn^(2+) in MnO_(2)@N cathode increases.Also,the reactions during the charging and discharging process are explored through the ex-situ XRD test.And this work may provide some new ideas for improving the stability of manganese-based zinc-ion batteries. | Yanan Zhang Yanpeng Liu Zhenhua Liu Xiaogang Wu Yuxiang Wen Hangda Chen Xia Ni Guohan Liu Juanjuan Huang Shanglong Peng | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,1: | 6 |
| 5 | Decreased glutathione reductase2 leads to early leaf senescence in Arabidopsis显示文摘Glutathione reductase(GR) catalyzes the reduction of glutathione disulfide(GSSG) to reduced glutathione(GSH)and participates in the ascorbate-glutathione cycle, which scavenges H_2O_2. Here, we report that chloroplastic/mitochondrial GR2 is an important regulator of leaf senescence. Seed development of the homozygous gr2 knockout mutant was blocked at the globular stage. Therefore, to investigate the function of GR2 in leaf senescence, we generated transgenic Arabidopsis plants with decreased GR2 using RNAi. The GR2 RNAi plants displayed early onset of age-dependent and darkand H2O2-induced leaf senescence, which was accompanied by the induction of the senescence-related marker genes SAG12 and SAG13. Furthermore, transcriptome analysis revealed that genes related to leaf senescence, oxidative stress, and phytohormone pathways were upregulated directly before senescence in RNAi plants. In addition, H2O2 accumulated to higher levels in RNAi plants than in wild-type plants and the levels of H_2O_2 peaked in RNAi plants directly before the early onset of leaf senescence. RNAi plants showed a greater decrease in GSH/GSSG levels than wild-type plants during leaf development. | 6 | Deformation of the Haiyuan-Liupanshan fault zone inferred from the denser GPS observations显示文摘The Haiyuan-Liupanshan fault,an active tectonic feature at the Tibetan Plateau's northeastern boundary,was ruptured by two MS earthquakes(1920 and 1927)bracketing an unbroken section(the Tianzhu seismic gap).A high seismic hazard is expected along the gap.To monitor deformation characteristics and do a seismic risk assessment,we made measurements at two newly built campaign-mode Global Positioning System(GPS) stations and 13 pre-existing stations in 2013 and 2014.Adding existing data from 1999 to 2014,we derived a new velocity field.Based on the horizontal velocity,we used three block models to invert the deformation of four crustal blocks.The results suggest non-uniform deformation in the interior of the Lanzhou block,the Ordos block and the Alaxan block,but uniform deformation in the Qilian block.Fault slip rates derived from block models show a decreasing trend from west to east,(2.0-3.2 mm/a on the Haiyuan fault to 0.9-1.5 mm/a on the Liupanshan fault).The Haiyuan fault evidences sinistral striking-slip movement,while the Liupanshan fault is primarily thrusting due to transformation of the displacement between the strike-slip and crustal shortening.The locking depth of each segment along the Haiyuan fault obtained by fitting the fault parallel velocities varies drastically from west to east(21.8-7.1 km).The moment accumulation rate,calculated using the slip rate and locking depth,is positively correlated with the locking depth.Given the paucity of large seismic events during the previous millennium,the Tuolaishan segment and the Maomaoshan segment have higher likelihood of nucleation for a future event. | Yanchuan Li Chunyan Qu Xinjian Shan Xiaogang Song Guohong Zhang Weijun Gan Shaoyan Wen Zhenjie Wang | 2015 | Earthquake Science2015,28,5: | 4 |

The original curve of σ p -v is expanded, which turns the analysis theory of random energy of train derailment into the all-weather theory. Train derailment condition has been established under wind action. The first and second criterions of train derailment have been proposed in light of wind action. The analysis of train derailment cases at home or abroad is made, in- cluding the first analysis of Xinjiang train derailment case encountered 13-level of gale, which explained the inevitability of train derailment. The analysis theory of random energy of train derailment in wind shows its validity and accuracy. The input energy σ pw of the transverse vibration of train-track(bridge)-wind system is linked to train speed. | 14 | A Matrilineal Genetic Legacy from the Last Glacial Maximum Confers Susceptibility to Schizophrenia in Han Chinese显示文摘Mitochondrial dysfunction has been widely reported in schizophrenia patients.To dissect the matrilineal structure of Han Chinese with or without schizophrenia and to decipher the maternal influence and evolutionary history of schizophrenia,a total of 1212 schizophrenia patients and 1005 matched healthy controls,all of Han Chinese origin,were recruited in Hunan Province,China.We classified haplogroup for each individual based on mitochondrial DNA(mtDNA) sequence variations and compared the haplogroup distribution pattern between cases and controls.Haplogroup B5 a presented a higher frequency in cases than in controls(P = 0.02,OR = 1.67,95%CI =[1.09,2.56]),and this result could be confirmed by permutation analysis.Age estimation of haplogroup B5 a in cases revealed a much younger age than that of controls,which was coincident with the Northern Hemisphere deglaciation at the end of the Last Glacial Maximum.Analysis of complete mtDNA in five patients belonging to haplogroup B5 a showed that this background effect might be caused by haplogroupdefining variants m.8584G>A and m.l0398A>G.Our results showed that matrilineal risk factor for schizophrenia had an ancient origin and might acquire a predisposing effect on schizophrenia due to the environment change and/or orchestration with other nuclear genetic factors appeared recently in human evolutionary history. | Wen Zhang Jinsong Tang A-Mei Zhang Min-Sheng Peng Hai-Bing Xie Liwen Tan Lin Xu Ya-Ping Zhang Xiaogang Chen Yong-Gang Yao | 2014 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2014,41,7: | 2 |
