| 7 | BAP31 is frequently overexpressed in patients with primary colorectal cancer and correlates with better prognosis显示文摘We previously showed that B cell receptor associated protein 31(BAP31) was significantly upregulated in colorectal cancer compared with normal mucosa epithelia. However, its expression pattern and pathological role in colorectal cancer are not clearly understood. In this study, we investigated whether the expression of BAP31 was associated with the clinicopathological parameters of colorectal cancer. The expression pattern of BAP31 was detected by immunohistochemistry on a tissue microarray in both primary tumor and paired distant normal mucosa samples from 120 consecutive colorectal cancer patients. Furthermore, BAP31 protein expression was also determined in twenty colorectal adenomas and eight liver metastasis samples. There was positive expression of BAP31 in 64.17% of primary tumors and 6.67% in distant normal mucosa (P=0.000). Negative expression of BAP31 was correlated with distant metastasis (P=0.036) and lower tumor differentiation grade (P=0.001). Patients with BAP31-negative expression showed significantly lower overall survival rate (P=0.003) compared to patients with BAP31-positive expression. Coal pitch was directly carbonized on the surface of porous silica with in-situ carbonization. The carbonized coal pitch coating exhibits some degree of graphitization with a 78 nm-thick layer on the surface of silica and a 0.5 nm-thick layer on the inner surface of the mesopores. Based on the special structure of the graphitized carbon coating, the novel stationary phase can provide multiple interactions such as hydrophobic interaction, π-π interaction and dipole-dipole interaction. The novel composite material exhibited unique separation selectivity and excellent separation efficiency for polar compounds, including imidazoles, nucleosides and pesticides. Besides, the packed column also exhibited great repeatability with the RSDs of the retention time of nucleosides between 0.07%-0.50%(n = 5). | 20 | A Rat Model of Autologous Oral Mucosal Epithelial Transplantation for Corneal Limbal Stem Cell Failure显示文摘Purpose: To establish an animal model of autologous oral mucosa grafting for limbal stem cell deficiency.Methods: The study was carried from August to October2012. Fourteen SD rats were randomly and evenly allocated to study group A and control group B. Limbal stem cell deficiency was established by alkali burn in the right eye of each rat in both groups. Rats in group A received autologous oral mucosa strip transplantation following the chemical burn. Rats in group B did not receive surgery after the chemical burn.Topical antibiotics and dexamethasone were used in all rats.Corneal clarity, corneal fluorescein staining, oral mucosal graft survival, and complications at postoperative days 1,3,7,14 were observed.Results: The oral mucosa strip graft was detached in one rat in group A. Reepithelialization was observed starting from the graft position and was completed within 14 days in the remaining 6 eyes in group A. However, persistent corneal epithelium defect was observed in all eyes in group B, among which corneal melting and perforation was observed in 2 eyes and corneal opacification with neovascularization was observed in the remaining 5 eyes.Conclusion: Autologous oral mucosa strip grafting for limbal stem cell deficiency can be achieved by a rat model following chemical burn.
