1Non-uniform distribution of gas-solid flow through six parallel cyclones in a CFB system: An experimental study显示文摘In large-scale circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers, it is common to use multiple cyclones in parallel for the capture of solids, assuming that gas-solid flow to be the same in the cyclones. This article presents a study investigating gas-solid flow through six parallel cyclones in a CFB cold test rig. The six cyclones were located asymmetrically on the left and right walls of the riser. Solid volume fraction and particle velocity profiles at the riser outlets and in the horizontal ducts were measured using a fiber optical probe. Cyclone pressure drop and solid circulating rate were measured for each individual cyclone. Measurements showed good agreement as to the non-uniform distribution of the gas-solid flow, which occurred mainly across the three cyclones on one side: the middle cyclones on both sides had higher particle velocities. Conversely, the solid volume fractions, solid fluxes and solid circulating rates of the middle cyclones were lower than those of the other four cyclones. The apparent reason for the flow non-uniformity among the cyclones is the significant flow non-uniformity at the riser outlets. Under typical operating conditions, the solid volume fractions at the riser outlets had a deviation of up to 26% whereas the solid circulating rates at the stand pipes, 7%. 2Research on coal staged conversion poly-generation system based on fluidized bed显示文摘A new coal staged conversion poly-generation system combined coal combustion and pyrolysis has been developed for clean and high efficient utilization of coal.Coal is the first pyrolysed in a fluidized pyrolyzer.The pyrolysis gas is then purified and used for chemical product or liquid fuel production.Tar is collected during purification and can be processed to extract high value product and to make liquid fuels by hydro-refining.Semi-coke from the pyrolysis reactor is burned in a circulating fluidized bed(CFB)combustor for heat or power generation.The system can realize coal multiproduct generation and has a great potential to increase coal utilization value.A 1 MW poly-generation system pilot plant and a 12 MW CFB gas,tar,heat and power poly-generation system was erected.The experimental study focused on the two fluidized bed operation and characterization of gas,tar and char yields and compositions.The results showed that the system could operate stable,and produce about 0.12 m^(3)/kg gas with 22 MJ/m^(3)heating value and about 10 wt%tar when using Huainan bituminous coal under pyrolysis temperature between 500 and 600℃.The produced gases were mainly H_(2),CH_(4),CO,CO_(2),C_(2)H_(4),C_(2)H_(6),C_(3)H_(6)and C_(3)H_(8).The CFB combustor can burn semi-coke steadily.The application prospect of the new system was discussed.Mingjiang Ni Chao Li Mengxiang Fang Qinhui Wang Zhongyang Luo Kefa Cen 2014International Journal of Coal Science & Technology2014,1,1:13
3Study on the physiological indices of Pinus sibirica and Pinus koraiensis seedlings under cold stress显示文摘Although Pinus sibirica and Pinus koraiensis are resistant to cold or low temperatures in the cold temperate regions of the northern hemisphere,the former has a stronger cold resistance.Research has been limited to the comparison of physiological responses of the two species to cold stress.In this study,5-year-old seedlings of P.sibirica and P.koraiensis were subjected to six temperature treatments,[20℃(control),0℃,-20℃,-40℃,-60℃,and-80℃],under different stress periods(6,12,24,and 48 h).The results showed that differences in each physiological index were significant between P.sibirica and P.koraiensis,except for the permeability of cell membranes,reactive oxygen species,proline and soluble proteins.An ANOVA test indicated that there were extreme differences among the temperatures for each index,stress time and temperature 9 time for most indices.All indices showed a similar trend for P.sibirica and P.koraiensis with decreasing temperature or the extension of stress time.Soluble sugars and proline increased at 0 to-20℃and then remained unchanged with temperature decline.Other indices showed an increase from 20 to-20℃,stable from-20 to-40℃and a decrease from-40 to-80℃.All the indices increased and then declined along with the prolonged cold stress time,except for the control.From 0 to-40℃,the permeability of cell membranes,relative conductivity,reactive oxygen species and malonaldehyde of P.koraiensis seedlings were higher than in P.sibirica,but superoxide dismutase,peroxidase,catalase activity and soluble sugars,proline,and soluble proteins content emerged as opposite.This study compared the physiological mechanism responses to cold stress between P.sibirica and P.koraiensis to provide the basis for the introduction,distribution,and genetic improvement of these coniferous species.Fang Wang Deyang Liang Xiaona Pei Qinhui Zhang Peng Zhang Jianqiu Zhang Zhimin Lu Yuchun Yang Guifeng Liu Xiyang Zhao 2019Journal of Forestry Research2019,30,4:12
4A comprehensive CFD combustion model for supercritical CFB boilers显示文摘A combustion model of a large-scale supercritical circulati ng fluidized bed (CFB) boiler was developed for comprehensive computational-fluid-dynamics analysis. The model incorporates gas-solid hydrodynamics, coal combustion, heat transfer on heat exchange surfaces in the furnace, and heat transfer between fumace and working medium in the heat transfer tubes. In simulating the dense and dilute phases in the fumace, the gas-solid hydrodynamics is based on the Euler-Euler model and energy-minimization multiscale drag model. Coal combustion entails evaporation, devolatilization, char combustion, gas homoge neous reaction, and pollutant emission. The coefficient ofheat transfer between gas-solid and the waterwall is estimated using the cluster renewal model, and for radiation, the discrete ordinate model is used. Moreover, thermohydraulic processes in the membrane wall are also in eluded in the heat transfer process. The model was successfully applied in simulations of a 350-MW supercritical CFB boiler. 6Predictions of NOx/N2O emissions from an ultra-supercritical CFB boiler using a 2-D comprehensive CFD combustion model显示文摘NOx and N2O emissions from an ultra-supercritical circulating fluidized bed(CFB)boiler were predicted using a two dimensional(2-D)comprehensive computational fluid dynamics(CFD)combustion model.This model was developed from a three dimensional model for a supercritical CFB boiler previously constructed by our group.Based on an analysis of the NOx and N2O conversion processes in a CFB boiler,the primary formation and destruction reactions were introduced into the 2-D model and coupled.The resulting model was validated using data from the Baima 600 MW supercritical CFB boiler,and then applied to a 660 MW ultra-supercritical CFB boiler.The effects of excess air,the secondary air(SA)to(primary air(PA)plus SA)ratio and the SA injection height on NOx and N2O emissions were investigated.The results show that a higher excess air volume increases both NOx and N2O emissions,while increasing the SA/(PA+SA)ratio somewhat reduces both the NOx and N2O concentrations.On the basis of the results of this work,optimal locations for SA injection ports so as to lower NOx and N2O emissions are recommended.Jieqiang Ji Leming Cheng Yangjun Wei Junfeng Wang Xinyu Gao Mengxiang Fang Qinhui Wang 2020Particuology2020,18,2:4
7Effects of CO_(2)atmosphere on slow pyrolysis of high-ash lignite显示文摘Slow pyrolysis of a typical high-ash lignite in China was carried out in atmospheres of N_(2),20%CO_(2)/N_(2),40%CO_(2)/N_(2),and 60%CO_(2)/N_(2)in a fixed bed reactor.The evolution of char,tar,and gases in yield and characteristics,and the physico-chemical characteristics of chars in different atmospheres were compared.Results revealed that CO_(2)almost behaves as an inert gas in the evolution of char and CO before 600℃.The decrease in char and CO_(2)yields and the increase in CO yield at temperatures higher than 600℃are ascribed to the occurrence of char-CO_(2)gasification.The higher the CO_(2)level present in the atmosphere,the higher the severity of the gasification becomes.Introducing CO_(2)into the atmosphere raises tar and water yields but cuts down H_(2),CH_(4),and C_(2)H_(6)yields.The promotion of tar yield results from the higher phenols and aliphatics yields in the presence of CO_(2).The reduction of H_(2)yield is associated with the increase in water yield,while the decline of light hydrocarbon gases is connected with the suppression effects of CO_(2)on methyl decomposition.The role of inherent minerals was also investigated by comparing product yields from raw coal and demineralized coal.The comparison indicated that the char-CO_(2)gasification rate is sharply reduced to nearly zero without the catalytic effects of calcium,iron,and magnesium minerals.The evolution of tar and light hydrocarbon gases in the CO_(2)-containing atmosphere greatly depends on inherent minerals.Without minerals,tar yield is inhibited in the presence of CO_(2).In the absence of minerals,CO_(2)hardly has influences on CH_(4)and C_(2)H_(6)yields.Qinhui Wang Kaikun Li Zhihang Guo Mengxiang Fang Zhongyang Luo Kefa Cen 2018Carbon Resources Conversion2018,1,1:4
8Anti-wear beam effects on gas-solid hydrodynamics in a circulating fluidized bed显示文摘Anti-wear beams installed on water walls of circulating fluidized bed(CFB) boilers are one of the most effective ways to protect against water-wall erosion.Beam effects from,for example,beam size and superficial gas velocity were investigated on gas-solid hydrodynamics in a CFB test rig using CFD simulations and experimental methods.The downward flow of the wall layer solids is observed to be disrupted by the beam but is then restored some distance further downstream.When falling solids from the wall layer hit the anti-wear beam,the velocity of the falling solids decreases rapidly.A fraction of the solids accumulates on the beam.Below the beams,the falling solids have reduced velocities but upward-moving solids were observed on the wall.The effect of the beam increases with width and superficial gas velocity.Wear occurs mainly above the beam and its variation with width is different above to below the beam.There is an optimum width that,when combined with beam height,results in less erosion.Yunfei Xia Leming Cheng Chunjiang Yu Linjie Xu Qinhui Wang Mengxiang Fang 2015Particuology2015,13,2:3
9Rotation speed measurement of moving particles in a CFB riser显示文摘This paper presents a study on measuring rotation speed of moving glass beads with an average diameter of 500 m in a pilot-scale circulating fluidized bed (CFB) riser with a high-speed digital imaging system. Two methods have been developed to calculate particle rotation speed from the particle images. The first method consists of a fully automated algorithm based on cross-correlation of gray distribution of particle images for particles whose rotation axes are (nearly) perpendicular to the imaging plane, and the second method calculates the speed of particle rotation by identifying its rotation axis using two or more characteristic points on its surface. The reliability of the two methods is verified by using a small sphere with known speed and direction of rotation. The first method is shown to be capable of measuring accurately the rotation speed for the particle with a rotation axis (nearly) perpendicular to the imaging plane and filtering off other particles using an appropriate threshold of correlation coefficient. The second method is shown to be capable of yielding both the speed and direction of particle rotation, with a measurement error of less than 10%. 12Variations in growth traits and wood physicochemical properties among Pinus koraiensis families in Northeast China显示文摘This study aimed to explore and improve the different economic values of Pinus koraiensis(Siebold and Zucc.)by examining the variations in 6 growth traits and 9 physicochemical wood properties among 53 P.koraiensis half-sib families.Growth traits assessed included height,diameter at breast height,volume,degree of stem straight-ness,stem form,and branch number per node,while wood properties assessed included density,fiber length and width,fiber length to width ratio,and cellulose,hemicel-lulose,holocellulose,lignin,and ash contents.Except for degree of stem straightness and branch number per node,all other traits exhibited highly significant variations(P<0.01)among families.The coefficients of variation ranged from 5.3(stem form)to 66.7%(ash content),whereas,the herit-ability ranged from 0.136(degree of stem straightness)to 0.962(ash content).Significant correlations were observed among growth traits and wood physicochemical properties.Principal component analysis identified four distinct groups representing growth traits,wood chemical and physical properties,and stem form traits.Multi-trait comprehensive evaluation identified three groups of elite families based on breeding objectives,including rapid growth,improved timber production for building and furniture materials,and pulpwood production.These specific families should be used to establish new plantations.Qinhui Zhang Xiaona Pei Xianbo Lu Chunli Zhao Guangzhi Dong Wanling Shi Liankui Wang Yanlong Li Xiyang Zhao Mulualem Tigabu 2022Journal of Forestry Research2022,33,5:1
13Investigation of the Evolution Behavior of Light Tar During Bituminous Coal Pyrolysis in a Fluidized Bed Reactor显示文摘The evolution behavior of the light tar fraction of tar during large bituminous coal particle pyrolysis in afluidized bed reactor at 500--900 ℃ was investigated to optimize the industrial process. The coal residence time wasvaried from 30 s to 150 s. The crude tar obtained was distilled and separated into the light fraction and the heavyfraction through an evaporator under conditions of 280 ℃ and 104 Pa. The light tar was subjected to GC-MS analysis,and the 300 main species in each spectrum were determined and analyzed. The experimental results showed that theevolution behavior of the light tar fraction and the heavy tar fraction presented spectacularly different variation trendswith pyrolysis temperature and coal residence time. The molecular weight and number of rings per aromatic com-pound molecule contained in the light tar fraction increased with increasing pyrolysis temperature because of poly-merization. It was also observed that the amount of methyl substituents decreased with an increasing number of ringsper molecule of poly-aromatic ring compounds. 14Investigation on Fuel-N Transformation Properties of Coal/Biomass Heating Process in CO_(2)Atmosphere显示文摘To understand the effect of a CO_(2)atmosphere on the properties of the transformation from fuel-N to NO_(x)precursors(mainly NH_(3)and HCN),pyrolysis experiment on Pingliang coal(PL coal),wheat straw and their corresponding blends was carried out in a fluidized bed reactor within a temperature range of 750℃to 850℃.The results indicated that the PL coal and wheat straw show different NO_(x)precursor formation properties owing to the discrepancy between the N-containing structures in the raw materials.Compared with an argon atmosphere,CO_(2)can effectively suppress the formation of NH_(3).For HCN,the HCN yield of PL coal is suppressed and the HCN yield of wheat straw is promoted.Furthermore,CO_(2)can suppress the overall nitrogen conversion rate of NH_(3)^(+)HCN for both coal and biomass,which causes more fuel-N to convert into tar-N and N_(2)-N.For the blends of PL coal and wheat straw,the copyrolysis synergistic effect of coal/biomass influences the selectivity of HCN and NH_(3).The copyrolysis synergistic effect favors the formation of copyrolyzed HCN but has an opposite impact on the transformation from fuel-N to NH_(3).The synergistic effect of coal/biomass promotes the overall nitrogen conversion rate of NH_(3)^(+)HCN under a CO_(2)atmosphere,and the overall nitrogen conversion rate of NH_(3)+HCN is suppressed under an argon atmosphere,conversely.In addition,the synergistic effect of coal/biomass suppresses the yield of environmentally harmless N_2,and more fuel-N was retained in the char.LIN Junjie WANG Qinhui LIANG Xiaorui LUO Zhongyang 2021Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,4:1
