1Materials discovery and design using machine learning显示文摘The screening of novel materials with good performance and the modelling of quantitative structureactivity relationships(QSARs),among other issues,are hot topics in the field of materials science.Traditional experiments and computational modelling often consume tremendous time and resources and are limited by their experimental conditions and theoretical foundations.Thus,it is imperative to develop a new method of accelerating the discovery and design process for novel materials.Recently,materials discovery and design using machine learning have been receiving increasing attention and have achieved great improvements in both time efficiency and prediction accuracy.In this review,we first outline the typical mode of and basic procedures for applying machine learning in materials science,and we classify and compare the main algorithms.Then,the current research status is reviewed with regard to applications of machine learning in material property prediction,in new materials discovery and for other purposes.Finally,we discuss problems related to machine learning in materials science,propose possible solutions,and forecast potential directions of future research.By directly combining computational studies with experiments,we hope to provide insight into the parameters that affect the properties of materials,thereby enabling more efficient and target-oriented research on materials discovery and design.Yue Liu Tianlu Zhao Wangwei Ju Siqi Shi 2017Journal of Materiomics2017,3,3:61

3Review of Distribution Network Phase Unbalance: Scale, Causes, Consequences, Solutions, and Future Research Directions显示文摘Phase unbalance is widespread in the distribution networks in the UK,continental Europe,US,China,and other countries and regions.This paper first reviews the mass scale of phase unbalance and its causes and consequences.Three challenges arise from phase rebalancing:the scalability,data scarcity,and adaptability(towards changing unbalance over time).Solutions to address the challenges are:1)using retrofit table,maintenance-free,automatic solutions to overcome the scalability challenge;2)using data analytics to overcome the data-scarcity challenge;and 3)using phase balancers or other online phase rebalancing solutions to overcome the adaptability challenge.This paper categorizes existing phase rebalancing solutions into three classes:1)load/lateral re-phasing;2)using phase balancers;3)controlling energy storage,electric vehicles,distributed generation,and micro-grids for phase rebalancing.Their advantages and limitations are analyzed and ways to overcome their limitations are recommended.Finally,this paper suggests future research topics:1)long-term forecast of phase unbalance;2)the whole-system analysis of the unbalance-induced costs;3)the phase unbalance diagnosis for data-scarce LV networks;4)techno-commercial solutions to exploit the flexibility from large three-phase customers for phase balancing;5)the optimal placement of phase balancers;6)the transition from single-phase customers to three-phase customers.Kang Ma Lurui Fang Wangwei Kong 2020CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2020,6,3:5
4Interleaving distribution of multifractal strength of 16-channel EEG signals显示文摘Multifractal characteristics of 16-channel hu-man electroencephalogram (EEG) signals under eye-closed rest are analyzed for the first time. The result shows that the EEGs from the different sites on the scalp have different multifractal characteristics and the multifractal strength value a exhibits a kind of interleaving and left-right oppo-site distribution on scalp. This distribution rule is consistent with the localization of function and the lateralization theory in physiology. So Da can become an effective parameter to describe the brain potential character. 5Nano-hydroxyapatite accelerates vascular calcification via lysosome impairment and autophagy dysfunction in smooth muscle cells显示文摘Vascular calcification(VC)is a common characteristic of aging,diabetes,chronic renal failure,and atherosclerosis.The basic component of VC is hydroxyapatite(HAp).Nano-sized HAp(nHAp)has been identified to play an essential role in the development of pathological calcification of vasculature.However,whether nHAp can induce calcification in vivo and the mechanism of nHAp in the progression of VC remains unclear.We discovered that nHAp existed both in vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMCs)and their extracellular matrix(ECM)in the calcified arteries from patients.Synthetic nHAp had similar morphological and chemical properties as natural nHAp recovered from calcified artery.nHAp stimulated osteogenic differentiation and accelerated mineralization of VSMCs in vitro.Synthetic nHAp could also directly induce VC in vivo.Mechanistically,nHAp was internalized into lysosome,which impaired lysosome vacuolar H+-ATPase for its acidification,therefore blocked autophagic flux in VSMCs.Lysosomal re-acidification by cyclic-3′,5′-adenosine monophosphate(cAMP)significantly enhanced autophagic degradation and attenuated nHAp-induced calcification.The accumulated autophagosomes and autolysosomes were converted into calcium-containing exosomes which were secreted into ECM and accelerated vascular calcium deposit.Inhibition of exosome release in VSMCs decreased calcium deposition.Altogether,our results demonstrated a repressive effect of nHAp on lysosomal acidification,which inhibited autophagic degradation and promoted a conversion of the accumulated autophagic vacuoles into exosomes that were loaded with undissolved nHAp,Ca^(2+),Pi and ALP.These exosomes bud off the plasma membrane,deposit within ECM,and form calcium nodules.Vascular calcification was thus accelerated by nHAP through blockage of autophagic flux in VSMCs.Qi Liu Yi Luo Yun Zhao Pingping Xiang Jinyun Zhu Wangwei Jing Wenjing Jin Mingyao Chen Ruikang Tang Hong Yu 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,2:5
6A relationship between red tide outbreaks and urban development along the coasts of Guangdong Province显示文摘Red tides are one of the main coastal catastrophic events in Guangdong Province of southern China. The comparison between the number of red tide events and the development indexes of cities along the coasts of the province shows that the regional differences in red tide outbreaks has close relations with the coastal urban developments. The cause for an initiation of red tide blooms may be natural factors, while wastewater caused by the fast development of population, industry and aquiculture of the coastal cities enhanced the blooms. It may explain why the two periods of frequent outbreaks of the red tides over the last two decades matched the urban developments in the coastal areas of Guangdong not only spatially but also temporally. The red tides in the first period were restricted only to the coasts of middle Guangdong, where urbanization process was at a higher speed than the other coastal areas of the province. 7Stable Transformation of Three Cultivars of Kentucky Bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.) by Particle Bombardment of Mature Seed-Derived Highly Regenerative Callus显示文摘High embryogenic calli of three cutivars of Kentucky bluegrass, Md, Bd, and Gm, were in-duced from mature embryos, and were proliferated on medium K3 and K5. Embryogenic calli were trans-formed with plamids pDM803 and pBY520 by microprojectile bombardment. Fourty-two transgenic lines hadbeen obtained. The highest efficiency of transformation reached to 3.7 % for cv. Md, 2.8 % for cv. Gm, and5 % for cv. Bd. The micro nutriment of Cupric had significant effect on transformation. The embryogenic cal-lus cultured in dim-light condition had higher transformation efficiency than the green callus cultured in lightcondition for one month before transformation. The selective regime and selective pressure on the putativetransgenic plants were important for obtaining the desire number of transgenic plants. 8Numerical simulations of buoyant reactive jets with sidewall effects显示文摘The near field dynamics of buoyant reactive jets with adjacent sidewalls is investigated by time-dependent three-dimensional direct simulations. The physical problem is a fuel jet issuing vertically into an oxidant ambient envi- ronment in a corner configuration with sidewall boundaries. Simulation results are presented for two cases with different jet nozzle geometries: a corner-round reactive jet and a cor- ner-square reactive jet with the same cross-sectional area on the nozzle plane. Buoyancy-induced large vortical structures evolve spatially in the flow field and transition to turbulence occurs downstream. 10Doping silver nanoparticles in AOT lyotropic lamellar phases显示文摘The organic lyotropic liquid crystal with long-range structural order is used as template to assemble inorganic/organic hybrid by doping pre-fabricated Ag nanoparticles. The lamellar hybrid with both hydrophilic and hydrophobic particles doped simultaneously is realized for the first time. The change of template structure after doping and the stability origin of dual-doped system are characterized by small angle X-ray scattering and polarized optical microscopy. 11Genetic diversity in the Yangtze finless porpoise by RAPD analysis显示文摘To estimate the genetic diversity in the Yangtze finless porpoise (Neophocaenaphocaenoides asiaeorientalis), the randomly amplified polymorphic DNA techniquewas applied to examine ten animals captured from the Yangtze River. Out of 20 arbitrary primers used in the experiment, seventeen produced clearly reproducible bged from 0.0986 to 0.5634. Compared with other cetacean populations, this genetic distance is quite low. Such a low genetic diversity suggests that this population may be suffering from reduced genetic variation, and be very fragile. 16Emission control for precursors causing acid rain(V): Improvement of acid soil with the bio-briquette combustion ash显示文摘The bio-briquette technique which mixes coal, biomass and sulfur fixation agent and bio-briquettes under 3—5 t/cm 2 line pressure has aroused people’s attention in view of controlling the air pollution and the acid rain. In this paper, the physicochemical properties of bio-briquette and its ash were investigated. And the acid soil was improved by the bio-briquette combustion ash, which contained nutritive substances such as P, N, K and had the acid-neutralizing capacity(ANC). The pH, EC, effective nutrient elements(Ca, Mg, K, P and N), heavy metal elements(Al, Cu, Cd, Cr, Zn and Mn) and acid-neutralizing capacity change of ash-added soils within the range of 0—10%, were also studied. Specially, when 5% bio-briquette combustion ash was added to the tested soil, the content of the effective elements such as Ca, Mg and K rose by 100 times, 7 times and twice, respectively. The total nitrogen also increased by about twice. The results showed the oxyanions such as that of Al, Cu, Cd, Cr, Zn and Mn were not potentially dangerous, because they were about the same as the averages of them in Chinese soil. It is shown that the ANC became stronger, though the ANC hardly increases in the ash-added soil.
