| 3 | Abnormal Metabolic Connectivity in Rats at the Acute Stage of Ischemic Stroke显示文摘Stroke at the acute stage is a major cause of disability in adults, and is associated with dysfunction of brain networks. However, the mechanisms underlying changes in brain connectivity in stroke are far from fully elucidated. In the present study, we investigated brain metabolism and metabolic connectivity in a rat ischemic stroke model of middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO)at the acute stage using18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography. Voxel-wise analysis showed decreased metabolism mainly in the ipsilesional hemisphere, and increased metabolism mainly in the contralesional cerebellum. We used further metabolic connectivity analysis to explore the brain metabolic network in MCAO.Compared to sham controls, rats with MCAO showed most significantly reduced nodal and local efficiency in the ipsilesional striatum. In addition, the MCAO group showed decreased metabolic central connection of the ipsilesional striatum with the ipsilesional cerebellum, ipsilesional hippocampus, and bilateral hypothalamus. | 7 | Using a Hidden Markov Model to Analyze the Flood-Season Rainfall Pattern and Its Temporal Variation over East China显示文摘The homogeneous hidden Markov model(HMM), a statistical pattern recognition method, is introduced in this paper. Based on the HMM, a 53-yr record of daily precipitation during the flood season(April-September) at 389 stations in East China during 1961-2013 is classified into six patterns: the South China(SC) pattern, the southern Yangtze River(SY) pattern, the Yangtze-Huai River(YH) pattern, the North China(NC) pattern, the overall wetter(OW) pattern, and the overall drier(OD) pattern. Features of the transition probability matrix of the first four patterns reveal that 1) the NC pattern is the most persistent, followed by the YH, and the SY is the least one; and 2) there exists a SY-SC-SY-YH-NC propagation process for the rain belt over East China during the flood season. The intraseasonal variability in the occurrence frequency of each pattern determines its start and end time. Furthermore,analysis of interdecadal variability in the occurrence frequency of each pattern in recent six decades has identified three obvious interdecadal variations for the SC, YH, and NC patterns in the mid-late 1970 s, the early 1990 s, and the late 1990 s. After 2000, the patterns concentrated in the southern region play a dominant role, and thus there maintains a 'flooding in the south and drought in the north' rainfall distribution in eastern China. | 10 | Optimal antenna placement in distributed antenna systems显示文摘To minimize the outage probability of the cell (OPC) in downlink distributed antenna systems with selection transmission, a complex-encoding genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed to find the optimal locations of the antenna elements (AEs). First, the outage probability at a fixed location in the cell is investigated. Next, an analytical expression of the OPC is derived, which is a function of the AE locations. Then the OPC is used as the objective function of the antenna placement optimization problem, and the complexencoding GA is used to find the optimal AE locations in the cell. Numerical results show that the optimal AE locations are symmetric about the cell center, and the outage probability contours are also given with the optimal antenna placement. The algorithm has a good convergence and can also be used to determine the number of AEs which should be installed in order to satisfy the certain OPC value. Lastly, verification of the OPC's analytical expression is carried out by Monte Carlo simulations. | 12 | Flow Loss Mechanism in a Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Centrifugal Compressor at Low Flow Rate Conditions显示文摘With the advantages of high efficiency and compact structure,supercritical carbon dioxide(sC02)Brayton cycles have bright prospects for development in energy conversion field.As one of the core components of the power cycle,the centrifugal compressor tends to operate near the critical point(304.13 K,7.3773 MPa).Normally,the compressor efficiency increases as the inlet temperature decreases.When the inlet temperature is close to the critical point,the density increases sharply as the temperature decreases,which results in quickly decreasing of volume flow rate and efficiency reducing.The flow loss mechanism of the sCO_(2) compressor operating at low flow rate is studied in this paper.Computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulations for sCO_(2)compressor were carried out at various inlet temperatures and various mass flow rates.When the sCO_(2)compressor operates at low volume flow rate,the flow loss is generated mainly on the suction side near the trailing edge of the blade.The flow loss is related to the counterclockwise vortexes generated on the suction side of the main blade.The vortexes are caused by the flow separation in the downstream region of the impeller passage,which is different from air compressors operating at low flow rates.The reason for this flow separation is that the effect of Coriolis force is especially severe for the sCO_(2) fluid,compared to the viscous force and inertial force.At lower flow rates,with the stronger effect of Coriolis force,the direction of relative flow velocity deviates from the direction of radius,resulting in its lower radial component.The lower radial relative flow velocity leads to severe flow separation on the suction side near the trailing edge of the main blade. | YANG Zimu JIANG Hongsheng ZHUGE Weilin CAI Ruikai YANG Mingyang CHEN Haoxiang QIAN Yuping ZHANG Yangjun | 2024 | Journal of Thermal Science2024,33,1: | 0 |

| 20 | Waste cotton fabric derived porous carbon containing Fe_(3)O_(4)/NiS nanoparticles for electrocatalytic oxygen evolution显示文摘Developing low-cost,active and durable electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is an urgent task for the applications such as water splitting and rechargeable metal-air battery.Herein,this work reports the fabrication of a metal and hetero atom co-doped fibrous carbon structure derived from cotton textile wastes and its use as an efficient OER catalyst.The free-standing fibrous carbon structure,fabricated with a simple two-step carbonization process,has a high specific surface area of 1796 m^2/g and a uniform distribution of Fe_(3)O_(4)/NiS nanoparticles(Fe_(3)O_(4)/NiS@CC).The composite exhibits excellent OER performance with an onset potential of 1.44 V and a low overpotential of 310 mV at the current density of 10 mA/cm^2in a 1.0 M KOH solution,which even surpass commercial Ru O_(2)catalyst.Additionally,this ternary catalyst shows remarkable long-term stability without current density loss after continuous operation for 26 h.It can be believed that the outstanding OER performance is attributed to the synergistic effect between the iron oxides and nickel sulphides,as well as the micro-meso porous carbon structure.This study demonstrates a new strategy to use conventional textile materials to prepare highly efficient electrocatalysts;it also provides a simple approach to turn textile waste into valuable products. | Shan Jiang Hao Shao Genyang Cao Han Li Weilin Xu Jingliang Li Jian Fang Xungai Wang | 2020 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,59,24: | 0 |
