Heat Transfer Characteristics of Printed Circuit Heat Exchanger with Supercritical Carbon Dioxide and Molten Salt显示文摘Molten salt and supercritical carbon dioxide(S-CO_(2))are important high temperature heat transfer media, but molten salt/S-CO_(2) heat exchanger has been seldom reported. In present paper, heat transfer in printed circuit heat exchanger(PCHE)with molten salt and S-CO_(2) is simulated and analyzed.Since S-CO_(2) can be drove along passage wall by strong buoyancy force with large density difference, its heat transfer is enhanced by natural convection. In inlet region, natural convection weakens along flow direction with decreasing Richardson number, and the thermal boundary layer becomes thicker,so local heat transfer coefficient of S-CO_(2) significantly decreases. In outlet region, turbulent kinetic energy gradually increases, and then heat transfer coefficient increases for turbulent heat transfer enhancement.Compared with transcritical CO_(2) with lower inlet temperature, local heat transfer coefficient of S-CO_(2) near inlet is lower for smaller Richardson number, while it will be higher for larger turbulent kinetic energy near outlet.Performance of PCHE is mainly determined by the pressure drop in molten salt passage and the heat transfer resistance in S-CO_(2) passage. When molten salt passage width increases, molten salt pressure drop significantly decreases, and overall heat transfer coefficient slightly changes,so the comprehensive performance of PCHE is improved. As a result,PCHE unit with three semicircular passages and one semi-elliptic passage has better performance. | LAO Jiewei FU Qianmei WANG Weilong DING Jing LU Jianfeng | 2021 | Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,3: | 4
Quantitative Measurement of Bedding Orientation Using Remote Sensing Data:Yili Basin,Northwest China显示文摘Bedding orientation measurement is a remote sensing application used in the field of geology, but the results are often unsatisfactory when the bed is dislocated along the strike direction. This paper proposes a new method called multiple-line method that is designed to improve bedding orientation measurement. This technique uses the bed as a vector, and fits the vectors as a plane to obtain the bedding orientation. This study employs the case of Yili Basin and measures 25 bedding orientations using the multiple-point and multiple-line methods, respectively. The result shows that the errors from the multiple-line method are mostly smaller than those from the multiple-point method when a bed is discontinuous. | Zhenghai Wang Weilong Lin Ruxin Ding | 2018 | Journal of Earth Science2018,29,3: | 3

New collision detection method for simulating virtual plant populations显示文摘Detecting and resolving the collision of organs between different plants or the collision of different organs of a single plant are key issues in the realistic construction of a virtual plant population.A suitable collision detection scheme is necessary to prevent a reduction in realism caused by organ penetration.A mixed bounding volume tree construction scheme based on the growth characteristics of tomato plants is proposed in this paper, and the construction mode of the bounding at all levels is simplified by using a digital tomato model.Using a parallel GPU approach,we designed a tomato plant population collision detection program with CUDA acceleration. The proposed method reduces the total collision detection time by 92%-96%. | Weilong Ding Zangxin Wan Yan Xu Nelson Max | 2019 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,6: | 2

Optimization method to obtain appropriate spacing parameters for crop cultivation显示文摘Considering the time-consuming and tedious work of the current methods to control plant layout, which is mostly based on expert experience or field trials,we propose an algorithm to optimize and simulate a planting layout based on a virtual plant model and an optimization algorithm.A functional-structural plant model, which combines the structure and physiological function of plants,is used to construct a planting scene. The planting and row spacing are set as the genetic factors and the chromosomes of the genetic algorithm are encoded with a binary method. The photosynthetic yield of the unit planting area is denoted as the fitness value.By using this method, the intercropping of maize and soybean plants and the sole cropping of rice plants are studied.Experimental results show that the proposed method can obtain a high yield planting plan. | Weilong Ding Chengcheng Fan Lifeng Xu Tao Xie Yang Liu Zangxin Wan Nelson Max | 2020 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2020,13,1: | 0
Simulation and visualization of spraying droplets behavior and deposition within virtual rice canopy显示文摘Models for accurately simulating pesticide droplet deposition and transmission mechanism in rice canopies can provide an effective and economic tool to optimize methods for spraying pesticides, adjuvant formulation, and spray parameters. However, the current studies on the modeling of spray droplet deposition within rice plants are still very limited.Aiming at this problem,a method to model and visualize spray transmission and deposition within the canopy of rice plants was proposed.Firstly,a particle system was used to simulate the spraying scene of droplets. Then an improved method to determine the behavior of rebound and shatter of the droplets in the virtual scene was proposed. The deposition of spraying droplets on a leaf was calculated according to the inclination angles of the leaf, the characteristics of the leaf surface, and the physical and spatial characteristics of the droplets. The experiment shows that the method can simulate the behavior of the spraying droplets within a virtual scene of a rice plant, which may provide a reference for the study of spray deposition in the canopy of the crop. | Weilong Ding Fenglong Zhu Mengjie Jin Lifeng Xu Yuping Zhang | 2022 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,5: | 0
TaACTIN7-D regulates plant height and grain shape in bread wheat显示文摘Exploitation of new gene resources and genetic networks contributing to the control of crop yield-related traits, such as plant height, grain size, and shape, may enable us to breed modern high-yielding wheat varieties through molecular methods. In this study, via ethylmethanesulfonate mutagenesis,we identify a wheat mutant plant,mu-597,that shows semi-dwarf plant architecture and round grain shape.Through bulked segregant RNA-seq and map-based cloning, the causal gene for the semi-dwarf phenotype of mu-597 is located. We find that a single-base mutation in the coding region of TaACTIN7-D(TaACT7-D),leading to a Gly-to-Ser(G65S)amino acid mutation at the 65th residue of the deduced TaACT7-D protein, can explain the semi-dwarfism and round grain shape of mu-597.Further evidence shows that the G65S mutation in TaACT7-D hinders the polymerization of actin from monomeric(G-actin)to filamentous(F-actin)status while attenuates wheat responses to multiple phytohormones, including brassinosteroids, auxin, and gibberellin.Together, these findings not only define a new semi-dwarfing gene resource that can be potentially used to design plant height and grain shape of bread wheat but also establish a direct link between actin structure modulation and phytohormone signal transduction. | Xiongtao Li Beilu Cao Dejie Du Long Song Lulu Tian Xiaoming Xie Zhaoyan Chen Yanpeng Ding Xuejiao Cheng Yingyin Yao Weilong Guo Zhenqi Su Qixin Sun Zhongfu Ni Lingling Chai Jie Liu | 2023 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2023,50,11: | 0
Physics-based algorithm to simulate tree dynamics under wind load显示文摘Rapid development in the different computer science fields during the recent decades has facilitated the creation of new applications in the area of dynamic simulation of plant development.Among these new applications, simulation of trees swaying in the wind is of great importance,as those computer graphics related areas,e.g.,computer games, tree cultivation and forest management simulations, help a lot in revealing the mechanisms of tree dynamics under wind load. However,it is a big challenge to balance the effect of visualization in real time and calculation efficiency for any simulation algorithm.A physics-based algorithm to simulate tree dynamics under wind load was proposed in this study.A mechanistic model simulating the bending of a cantilever beam was used within the algorithm to simulate deformation of stems, and the algorithm was integrated with a landscape model in which different types of trees were constructed with an L-system-based formalism.Simulation results show that realistic dynamic effects can be achieved with reasonably high computational efficiency. | Lifeng Xu Zhongzhu Yang Weilong Ding Gerhard Buck-Sorlin | 2020 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2020,13,2: | 0
Effects of flight parameters for plant protection UAV on droplets deposition rate based on a 3D simulation approach显示文摘With the development of aviation agricultural technology, the number of farmers adopting the use of drones in daily agricultural activities is growing rapidly in recent decades.Among these,a large portion constitutes agricultural drones being used in pest control and crop protection practices,e.g.agriculture spraying of pesticides.Spraying pesticides with drones have proven to be faster than other traditional methods. On the downside, flight time and range of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAV)are often limited. Thus,a proper arrangement of flight height and velocity will greatly improve spraying efficiency.A new strategy to optimize the flight parameters,i.e.flight height and flight velocity, for fixed-wing UAV with a 3D simulation-based approach together with an automatic optimization algorithm was proposed in this study. To find the optimal parameters for a UAV to fly and spray under certain environmental conditions,a three-dimensional model of the target crop was established first, followed by a detailed simulation of droplet spraying. As a demonstration case,a grass model was developed and used as the target plant, and a physics-based method was used to simulate realistically the movement of the droplets in the air as well as the interaction between the droplets and the plant to obtain the droplet deposition rate under the specified operating parameters.Furthermore, the standard Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)algorithm was used to optimize the UAV operating parameters to obtain the best operating parameters. The results indicate that using the standard PSO algorithm to optimize the operating parameters of the drone could significantly improve the deposition rate and find the best operating parameters. | Lifeng Xu Zhongzhu Yang Zusheng Huang Weilong Ding Gerhard Buck-Sorlin | 2023 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2023,16,1: | 0

电子束探针模拟和初步测试显示文摘Electron beam probe(EBP)is a non-interceptive device for beam profile measurement, which is under heavy development at many accelerator laboratories worldwide,i.e.SNS,FNAL,BINP,etc.,since the principle using charged particles as a probe beam to determine charge distribution is raised since the 1970s[1].EBP is especially suitable for high power accelerators because of its non-interceptability,and mainly devoted to circular machine. An EBP uses the deflection of a low energy electron beam in the target beam electromagnetic field to infer the profile information of the target beam.Measuring the deflection angle as a function of different impacts, one can reconstruct the beam distribution in the x or y direction. | Feng Yongchun Mao Ruishi Yin Yan Chen Yucong Dong Xiaoxia Li Juan Ding Jiajian You Yaoyao Liu Tong Kang Xincai Wang Yanmou Ma Weinian Song Haihong Li Weilong Xu Zhiguo Zhao Tiecheng | 2017 | IMP & HIRFL Annual Report2017,,1: | 0
