1Contact Mechanism of Rail Grinding with Open-Structured Abrasive Belt Based on Pressure Grinding Plate显示文摘The current research of abrasive belt grinding rail mainly focuses on the contact mechanism and structural design.Compared with the closed structure abrasive belt grinding,open-structured abrasive belt grinding has excellent performance in dynamic stability,consistency of grinding quality,extension of grinding mileage and improvement of working efficiency.However,in the contact structure design,the open-structured abrasive belt grinding rail using a profiling pressure grinding plate and the closed structure abrasive belt using the contact wheel are different,and the contact mechanisms of the two are different.In this paper,based on the conformal contact and Hertz theory,the contact mechanism of the pressure grinding plate,abrasive belt and rail is analyzed.Through finite element simulation and static pressure experiment,the contact behavior of pressure grinding plate,abrasive belt and rail under single concentrated force,uniform force and multiple concentrated force was studied,and the distribution characteristics of contact stress on rail surface were observed.The results show that under the same external load,there are three contact areas under the three loading modes.The outer contour of the middle contact area is rectangular,and the inner contour is elliptical.In the contact area at both ends,the stress is extremely small under a single concentrated force,the internal stress is drop-shaped under a uniform force,and the internal stress under multiple concentration forces is elliptical.Compared with the three,the maximum stress is the smallest and the stress distribution is more uniform under multiple concentrated forces.Therefore,the multiple concentrated forces is the best grinding pressure loading mode.The research provides support for the application of rail grinding with open-structured abrasive belt based on pressure grinding plate,such as contact mechanism and grinding pressure mode selection.Zhiwei Wu Wengang Fan Chang Qian Guangyou Hou 2023Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2023,36,2:1

7Damage Mechanism and Countermeasures of Carbon Bonded Refractories for Continuous Casting显示文摘The long nozzle,stopper,and submerged entry nozzle play an important role in continuous casting. They are of the similar composition and are mainly damaged by liquid steel thermal shock which leads to immediate cracks or fracture in their combined area because of the thermal mechanical properties mismatch,or damaged by corrosion on their interface. The failure mechanisms are the thermal shock damage and continuous reaction corrosion. 8Design of Composite Ladle Shroud for Improving Thermal Shock Resistance显示文摘A ladle shroud is one of the functional refractories for continuous casting,which undergoes severe thermal shock by molten steel when used without pre-heating.The composite ladle shroud with an insulating liner presents excellent thermal shock resistance.Finite element simulation is an effective method to explore the maximum thermal stress for predicting the thermal shock resistance of ladle shrouds.In this paper,the influence of the lining materials and the structure of ladle shrouds on the thermal stress distribution is systematically researched.The working mechanism of the lining material on the body material is also presented.Lining materials with low thermal expansion,elastic modulus and thermal conductivity are helpful to improve the thermal shock resistance and an optimum lining thickness is suggested.The lining material can both serve as thermal resistance for the body material to buffer the thermal stress,and apply a strain load to the body material by the thermal strain to increase the stress.LIU Guoqi LI Hongxia YANG Wengang QIAN Fan YU Jianbin MA Weikui 2021China's Refractories2021,30,1:0
9Fatigue Investigations on Steel Pipeline Containing 3D Coplanar and Non-Coplanar Cracks显示文摘Fluctuated loadings from currents,waves and sea ground motions are observed on offshore steel pipelines,and they will result in small cracks to propagate continuously and cause unexpected damage to offshore/geotechnical infrastructures.In spite of the availability of efficient techniques and high-power computers for solving crack problems,investigations on the fatigue life of offshore pipelines with 3D interacting cracks are still rarely found in open literature.In the current study,systematic numerical investigations are performed on fatigue crack growth behaviours of offshore pipelines containing coplanar and non-coplanar cracks.Extended finite element method(XFEM)is adopted to simulate the fatigue crack growth.The qualitative validations of numerical results are made for certain cases with available experimental results.Parametric studies are conducted to investigate the influences of various important parameters on fatigue crack growth.The results will be helpful to assess the fatigue behaviours of steel pipeline with 3D interacting cracks.Zhongmin Xiao Wengang Zhang Yanmei Zhang Mu Fan 2020Computers, Materials & Continua2020,,1:0
10Influence of Glass Dust on Properties of Alumina-carbon Refractories显示文摘In order to improve the properties of alumina-carbon refractories,specimens were prepared using white fused corundum,zirconia-mullite and flake graphite as the raw materials,phenolic resin as the binder,adding different mass fractions(1.5%,2.0%,and 2.5%,respectively)of glass dust,cold isostatic pressing by 120 MPa,drying and firing at 900℃for 3 h.Effects of the glass dust addition on the apparent porosity,bulk density,cold modulus of rupture,hot modulus of rupture and thermal shock resistance were studied.The results show that the cold modulus of rupture of the specimens is improved significantly as the results of glass dust accelerating sintering.However,the hot modulus of rupture decreases.As the glass phase buffers the strain produced by thermal shock,the thermal shock resistance of alumina-carbon specimens is improved,especially for low carbon alumina-carbon materials.MA Weikui LIU Guoqi YU Jianbin QIAN Fan YANG Wengang 2019China's Refractories2019,28,4:0
11Structure Design of SEN for High Efficiency Thin Slab Continuous Casting显示文摘Four-hole submerged entry nozzles(SEN) with different structures were researched using the water simulation test by particle image velocimetry(PIV) and DJ800 hydraulic measurement system to get suitable SEN for high efficiency continuous casting. The influences of the exit area ratio(2∶1∶2,3∶2∶3,1∶1∶1 and 1∶2∶1),upper guide island angle θ(20°,40°,60° and 80°),and lower guide island angle α(60°,80°,100° and120°) on the vortex position in the mold and fluctuations were researched. 12Structure and Material Design of High Performance Functional Refractories for High-speed Continuous Casting显示文摘Functional refractories,including submerged entry nozzle ( SEN) ,ladle shroud and monolithic stopper, are the key refractories for continuous casting. Driven by the demand of high-speed continuous casting,traditional functional refractories fail to meet the needs of long span life,and high performance functional refractories for continuous casting are increasingly required. Through structure and material design,the performance of functional refractories is significantly improved. In this paper,some research advances on functional refractories for continuous casting were mentioned. Through numerical modeling and hot simulation,the service life of non-preheating ladle shroud was increased from 8 h to more than 12 h.
