1Effects of Jisuikang on hemorheology and inflammatory factors in rats following spinal cord injury显示文摘BACKGROUND:Trauma can damage the spinal cord or cauda equina to different degrees. Previous studies have verified that traditional Chinese medicine has effects on spinal cord injury via a variety of pathways. OBJECTIVE:To observe changes in hemorheology and inflammatory factors in spinal cord injury rats following treatment with the Chinese medicine Jisuikang,to verify the dose-dependent effect of Jisuikang,and to compare its effects with the effects of prednisone. DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING: A randomized study was performed at the Research Institute of Orthopedics,and Experimental Center of First Clinical Medical College,Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,China from September 2007 to March 2008. MATERIALS: Jisuikang powdered extract,composed of milkvetch root (30g),Chinese angelica (12g),red peony root (12g),earthworm (10g),szechwan lovage rhizome (10g),peach seed (10g) and safflower (10g),was provided by the Experimental Center,First Clinical Medical College,Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese medicine. Each gram of powdered extract was equivalent to 6.47 g crude drug. METHODS: A total of 72 Sprague Dawley rats were randomly assigned into 6 groups (n = 12). Rat models of spinal cord injury were established using the occlusion method. Rats in the model group were treated with distilled water. Rats in the 25 g/kg,12.5 g/kg,and 6.25 g/kg Jisuikang groups were given 25 g/kg,12.5 g/kg,or 6.25 g/kg Jisuikang by gavage,for 14 days. Rats in the prednisone group received 0.06 g/kg prednisone by gavage,for 7 days. Rats in the normal group were given the same volume of distilled water. The volume of administration was 15 mL/kg. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Rat serum interleukin-10,tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α),nitric oxide,nitric oxide synthase levels,malondialdehyde content,superoxide dismutase activity and whole blood viscosity were measured in each group. Spinal cord around the site of the model was collected. Half the spinal cord was used for histopathologic examination. The other half was used for measurement of nitric oxide and NOS levels,malondialdehyde contents,and superoxide dismutase activity. RESULTS: Superoxide dismutase activity was higher in the 25 g/kg Jisuikang group than in the model group. Malondialdehyde contents,nitric oxide and NOS levels were lower in the 25 g/kg and 12.5 g/kg Jisuikang groups compared with the model group. Whole blood viscosity was lower in the 25 g/kg and 12.5 g/kg Jisuikang groups compared with the model group (P < 0.05-0.01). Serum TNF-αcontent was lower in each Jisuikang group compared with the model group (P < 0.05-0.01). Serum interleukin-10 levels were greater in the prednisone group and each Jisuikang group compared with the model group (P < 0.01). Mild hemorrhage and necrosis in the rat spinal cord,and unclear neural cell swelling were seen in the 25 g/kg Jisuikang group. Severe hemorrhage and necrosis in the rat spinal cord,and distinct neural cell swelling were seen in the 12.5 g/kg Jisuikang group. Edema in the white matter was found in the 6.25 g/kg Jisuikang group. Pathological changes in the prednisone group were identical to the 25 g/kg and 12.5 g/kg Jisuikang groups. CONCLUSION: Jisuikang inhibits nitric oxide synthase expression,reduces nitric oxide and TNF-α levels,decreases malondialdehyde content,increases interleukin-10 levels and superoxide dismutase activity,improves indices of hemorheology,and prevents secondary changes in spinal cord injury,resulting in relieving pathological changes in spinal cord tissue. 220 Years Advances in Preparation of Potassium Salts from Potassic Rocks:A Review显示文摘Long-term research on key techniques of clean utilization of potassic rocks from over twenty localities has been performed to settle the shortage of soluble potassium resources in China. The results show that K-feldspar as the principal mineral enriched in potassium could be decomposed in the media of Ca(OH)_2, NaOH, KOH-H_2O solution via hydrothermal treatment, into tobermorite, hydroxylcancrinite, and kalsilite respectively. By further processing, these compounds are feasible for being as slow-release carrier of potassium nitrate, extracting alumina, and preparing farm-oriented fertilizers of potassium sulphate and nitrate. Correspondingly, the filtrate is KOH,(Na, K)_2SiO_3, and K_2SiO_3 solution, from which potassium carbonate, sulphate, nitrate, and phosphate could be easily fabricated. As NaO H and KOH are recycled in the processing chains by causticizing sodium and/or potassium metasilicate solutions, the hydrothermal alkaline techniques as developed in this research have several advantages as lower consumption of disposable mineral resources and energy, maximized utilization of potassic mineral resources, as well as clean productions etc. Based on the approaches presented in this paper, the technical system of efficiently utilizing insoluble potassium resources has been established. 3A Jury-Based Trust Management Mechanism in Distributed Cognitive Radio Networks显示文摘In the trust management scheme of the distributed cognitive radio networks, the absence of the central control devices cause many problems such as a lack of standardized control for trust computation, and the absence of the decision makers in trust evaluation and collaborative decision making. A trust management mechanism based on the jury system for distributed cognitive radio networks is proposed in this paper. The 'jury user' is designed to collaboratively examine the reputation of the cognitive user in the networks and to perform data fusion and spectrum allocation for distributed cognitive radio networks. 11Compositions,Proportions,and Equilibrium Temperature of Coexisting Two-feldspar in Crystalline Rocks显示文摘Compositions,proportions,and equilibrium temperature of coexisting two-feldspar in crystalline rocks are of great importance to classification in petrography and interpretation of petrogenesis.Crystalline rocks are usually composed of 4-6 minerals(phases),depending on their independent chemical components and the equilibrium temperature of crystallizations.In general,number of mineral phases can be determined by the 'Phase Rule'.According to the mass balance principle,bulk composition of coexisting two-feldspar could be evaluated from the bulk chemistry of a rock,provided that the compositions of the coexisting mafic mineral phases containing calcium,sodium,and potassium oxides are determined,e.g.,by microprobe analysis.The compositions,proportions,and temperature of two-feldspar in equilibrium can thus be simultaneously resolved numerically from bulk composition of the rock,by incorporating the activity/composition relations of the ternary feldspars with the mass balance constraints.Upon the numerical approximation method presented in this paper,better-quality,internally consistent data on feldspar group could usually be obtained,which would be expected more realistic and accurate in consideration of thermodynamic equilibria in the system of crystalline rocks,as well as bulk chemistry of a rock and the composing minerals.MA Hongwen YANG Jing SU Shuangqing YAO Wengui 2017Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2017,91,3:1

13Multidisciplinary team for the diagnosis and treatment of 2cases of primary intestinal yolk sac tumor显示文摘Extragonadal primary yolk sac tumor of the intestinal tract origin is exceedingly rare. Through a multiple disciplinary team, the diagnosis and treatment of primary intestinal yolk sac tumor were further defined. We report 2 such cases with detailed histologic and immunohistochemical analysis. The two patients were a 7-year-old girl and a 29-year-old woman. Both of them preoperatively had an elevated serum alpha fetoprotein(AFP) level(≥ 1,210 ng/mL). The tumors are located in the intestine and imaging examination indicated the rectum as the primary site. Grossly the mass was grey-white and crisp texture. Microscopic examination featured reticular, microcystic, macrocystic, papillary, solid, and some glandular patterns. Immunohistochemically,tumor cells of both cases were positive for SALL4, AFP, pan-cytokeratin(AE1/AE3), and glypican-3. Simultaneously, a stain for EMA, OCT4, CD30, HCG, vimentin and CK20 were negative in all 2 neoplasms.
