1Evaluation of Two Momentum Control Variable Schemes and Their Impact on the Variational Assimilation of Radar Wind Data:Case Study of a Squall Line显示文摘Different choices of control variables in variational assimilation can bring about different influences on the analyzed atmospheric state.Based on the WRF model's three-dimensional variational assimilation system,this study compares the behavior of two momentum control variable options—streamfunction velocity potential(ψ–χ) and horizontal wind components(U–V)—in radar wind data assimilation for a squall line case that occurred in Jiangsu Province on 24 August 2014.The wind increment from the single observation test shows that the ψ–χ control variable scheme produces negative increments in the neighborhood around the observation point because streamfunction and velocity potential preserve integrals of velocity.On the contrary,the U–V control variable scheme objectively reflects the information of the observation itself.Furthermore,radial velocity data from 17 Doppler radars in eastern China are assimilated.As compared to the impact of conventional observation,the assimilation of radar radial velocity based on the U–V control variable scheme significantly improves the mesoscale dynamic field in the initial condition.The enhanced low-level jet stream,water vapor convergence and low-level wind shear result in better squall line forecasting.However,the ψ–χ control variable scheme generates a discontinuous wind field and unrealistic convergence/divergence in the analyzed field,which lead to a degraded precipitation forecast.Xin LI Mingjian ZENG Yuan WANG Wenlan WANG Haiying WU Haixia MEI 2016Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2016,33,10:10
2Theoretical and Experimental Research on Error Analysis and Optimization of Tool Path in Fabricating Aspheric Compound Eyes by Precision Micro Milling显示文摘Structure design and fabricating methods of three-dimensional(3D)artificial spherical compound eyes have been researched by many scholars.Micro-nano optical manufacturing is mostly used to process 3D artificial compound eyes.However,spherical optical compound eyes are less at optical performance than the eyes of insects,and it is difficult to further improve the imaging quality of compound eyes by means of micro-nano optical manufacturing.In this research,nonhomogeneous aspheric compound eyes(ACEs)are designed and fabricated.The nonhomogeneous aspheric structure is applied to calibrate the spherical aberration.Micro milling with advantages in processing three-dimensional micro structures is adopted to manufacture ACEs.In order to obtain ACEs with high imaging quality,the tool paths are optimized by analyzing the influence factors consisting of interpolation allowable error,scallop height and tool path pattern.In the experiments,two kinds of ACEs are manufactured by micro-milling with different too path patterns and cutting parameter on the miniature precision five-axis milling machine tool.The experimental results indicate that the ACEs of high surface quality can be achieved by circularly milling small micro-lens individually with changeable cutting depth.A prototype of the aspheric compound eye(ACE)with surface roughness(Ra)below 0.12?m is obtained with good imaging performance.This research ameliorates the imaging quality of 3D artificial compound eyes,and the proposed method of micro-milling can improve surface processing quality of compound eyes.CHEN Mingjun XIAO Yong TIAN Wenlan WU Chunya CHU Xin 2014Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2014,27,3:3

5Cell Toxicity Effect of Cadmium on Yeast Cells by Detecting NADH Autofluorescence显示文摘The cytotoxic effect of cadmium is studied by detecting intracellular nicotinamide adenine dinucleotidea(NADH) autofluorescence in this work. NADH autofluorescence in processes of cadmium-induced apoptosis, necrosis and reversible injury are recorded timely. The relativity between time course of NADH autofluorescence and cadmium toxicity is established. The cell toxicity effect of Cadmium on yeast cells is studied by detecting the time courses of intracellular reduced NADH autofluorescence in this work. 7Novel polyzwitterion shell with adaptable surface chemistry engineered to enhance anti-fouling and intracellular imaging of detonation nanodiamonds under tumor pHe显示文摘In this work,zwitterionic polymer(polyzwitterion)coated nanodiamonds(ND)with tumorous pH responsiveness were prepared for efficient application of commercial NDS in tumor cells imaging.Poly(carboxybetaine methacrylate)was firstly grafted on the pristine NDS(PCBMA-@-NDs)by surface-initiated reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer(RAFT)polymerization.To achieve pH responsiveness and activated interaction with tumor cells,PCBMA-@-NDs were subsequently modified with benzene sulfonamide(PCBSA-@-NDs)via one step carbodiimide chemistry.The surface polymer functionalization was characterized by FTIR,1H NMR and TGA,and PCBMA-@-NDs and PCBSA-@-NDs showed great dispersibility,enhanced fluorescence intensity and excellent antifouling property in contrast to pristine NDs.Moreover,PCBSA-@-NDs was able to switch zwitterionic surface(at pH 7.4)reversibly into positive charge(at pH 6.5)via protonated or deprotonated acylsulfonamide.As expected,PCBSA-@-NDS demonstrated higher cell affinity and better imaging performance than those of zwitterionic NDS at tumor slight acid environment,proven by fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry.Overall,we provide a feasible and valuable strategy to construct smart NDS,thus encouraging the application of cost-effective fluorescence nanomater-ials in biomedical fields.Biyu ZHOU Junbo LI Binzhong LU Wenlan WU Leitao ZHANG Ju LIANG Junpeng YI Xin LI 2020Frontiers of Materials Science2020,14,4:0
8MDR1/P-Glycoprotein Overexpression in Bladder Transitional Cell Carcinoma and its Correlation with Expression of Survivin and Fas显示文摘OBJECTIVE To explore the expression of the MDR1/P-glycoprotein, Fas and survivin and to examine their correlation with the biologic behavior of bladder transitional cell carcinoma (BTCC). METHODS Immunohistochemistry was used to examine the expression of P-gp, survivin and Fas in BTCC (n=64) and normal bladder mucosa (n=12). RESULTS The expression level of P-gp and survivin in BTCC was higher compared to normal bladder mucosa (P<0.01) and their expression was strongly correlated with clinical grading (P<0.01). In BTCC and normal bladder mucosa Fas expression was 50% and 100%, respectively (P< 0.01). Recurrent BTCC showed higher expression than primary BTCC (P< 0.01) and the expression of P-gp in BTCC had a reverse correlation with Fas expression but no correlation with survivin expression. CONCLUSUON The MDR of BTCC was strongly correlated with the ex- pression of P-gp and Fas, but was not correlated with survivin expres- sion. 10Synthesis of poly(ethylene glycol)-SS-poly(ε-caprolactone)-SS-poly(ethylene glycol)triblock copolymers via end-group conjugation and self-assembly for reductively responsive drug delivery显示文摘In this study,we describe a simple synthesis route to prepare triblock copolymers with disulfide-linkers,poly(ethylene glycol)-SS-poly(ε-caprolactone)-SS-poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG-SS-PCL-SS-PEG)for application in the reductively responsive release of doxorubicin(DOX).To synthesize PEG-SS-PCL-SS-PEG,two end-groups of PCL-diol were first modified with cystamine to introduce disulfide bonds and subsequently conjugated with PEG-NHS via carbodiimide chemistry.PEG-SS-PCL-SSPEG fabricated into polymeric micelles with stable structure and different nanoscale sizes via adjusting the PCL chain length,showing obvious reductive responsiveness and fast drug release of encapsulated DOX in the presence of glutathione(GSH).Moreover,DOX-loaded PEG-SS-PCL-SS-PEG micelles exhibited higher therapeutic efficacy than reduction-insensitive PEG-b-PCL micelles in vitro.Thus,end-groups conjugation is a simple and straightforward strategy to introduce intelligent responsiveness in biocompatible block copolymers and improve their therapeutic efficacy.Junbo LI Junting JIANG Biyu ZHOU Chaohuang NIU Wendi WANG Wenlan WU 2019Frontiers of Materials Science2019,13,4:0
