| 1 | Optimizing aerobic biodegradation of dichloromethane using response surface methodology显示文摘Response surface methodology(RSM) was employed to evaluate the optimum aerobic biodegradation of dichloromethane(DCM) in pure culture.The parameters investigated include the initial DCM concentration,glucose as an inducer and hydrogen peroxide as terminal electron acceptor(TEA) .Maximum aerobic biodegradation effciency was predicted to occur when the initial DCM concentration was 380 mg/L,glucose 13.72 mg/L,and H2O2 115 mg/L.Under these conditions the aerobic biodegradation rate reached up to 93.18%,which was significantly higher than that obtained under original conditions.Without addition of glucose,degradation effciencies were 80%at DCM concentrations<326 mg/L.When concentrations of DCM were more than 480 mg/L,the addition of hydrogen peroxide did not help to significantly increase DCM degradation effciency.When DCM concentrations increased from 240 to 480 mg/L,the overall DCM degradation effciency decreased from 91%to 60%in the presence of H2O2 for 120 mg/L. | WU Shijin,YU Xiang,HU Zhihang,ZHANG Lili,CHEN Jianmeng College of Biological and Environmental Engineering,Zhejiang University of Technology,Hangzhou 310032,China | 2009 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,9: | 13 |
| 2 | Prevalence and risk factors of HIV and syphilis,and knowledge and risk behaviors related to HIV/AIDS among men who have sex with men in Chongqing,China显示文摘High HIV prevalence and incidence burdens have been reported in men who have sex with men(MSM)in Chongqing,China.We aimed to estimate the prevalence of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections(STIs),to appraise the knowledge and risk behaviors related to HIV/AIDS among MSM,and to analyze the possible causes of deviation between behavior and knowledge to make better strategies.We recruited 617 MSM from February to July in 2008 by using a respondent-driven sampling(RDS) method in Chongqing,China.Through the collection of questionnaire-based data and biological testing results from all objects,we launched a crosssectional survey.STATA/SE was used for data analysis by frequency,ANOVA,rank sum test and logistic regression models.MSM with syphilis(OR=4.16,95%CI:2.35-7.33,P<0.0001) were more likely to be HIV infected.Being a company employee(OR=3.64,95%CI:1.22-10.08,P<0.0001) and having bought male for sex(OR=3.52,95%CI:1.10-11.32,P<0.034) were associated with a higher probability of syphilis.MSM with younger age,higher education and greater monthly income had a higher mean knowledge score.MSM who had HIV testing had a higher mean knowledge score than those who never had.Students,venues for finding sex partners by Internet and homosexuals in MSM had a higher mean knowledge score compared to other occupations,venues for finding sex partners and sexual orientation.There is an urgent need for delivery of barrier and biomedical interventions with coordinated behavioral and structural strategies to improve the effect of HIV interventions among MSM. | Wenzhe Ma Guohui Wu Hui Zheng Wenjuan Zhang Zhihang Peng Rongbin Yu NingWang | 2016 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2016,30,2: | 9 |
| 3 | A unified algorithm for mobility load balancing in 3GPP LTE multi-cell networks显示文摘3GPP long term evolution (LTE) is a promising candidate for the next-generation wireless network, which is expected to achieve high spectrum efficiency by using advanced physical layer techniques and flat network structures. However, the LTE network still faces the problem of load imbalance as in GSM/WCDMA networks, and this may cause significant deterioration of system performance. To deal with this problem, mobility load balancing (MLB) has been proposed as an important use case in 3GPP self-organizing network (SON), in which the serving cell of a user can be selected to achieve load balancing rather than act as the cell with the maximum received power. Furthermore, the LTE network aims to serve users with different quality-of-service (QoS) requirements, and the network-wide objective function for load balancing is distinct for different kinds of users. Thus, in this paper, a unified algorithm is proposed for MLB in the LTE network. The load balancing problem is first formulated as an optimization problem with the optimizing variables being cell-user connections. Then the complexity and overhead of the optimal solution is analyzed and a practical and distributed algorithm is given. After that, the proposed algorithm is evaluated for users with different kinds of QoS requirements, i.e., guaranteed bit rate (GBR) users with the objective function of load balance index and non-GBR (nGBR) users with the objective function of total utility, respectively. | 5 | All-optical two-channel polarization-multiplexing format conversion from QPSK to BPSK signals in a silicon waveguide显示文摘All-optical two-channel format conversion is proposed and experimentally demonstrated from a 40 Gbit/s polarization multiplexing(Pol-MUX) non-return-to-zero quadrature phase-shift keying(QPSK) signal to Pol-MUX binary phase-shift keying(BPSK) signals by using phase-doubled four-wave mixing effects with two polarization-angled pumps in a silicon waveguide. The eye diagrams and constellation diagrams of the original QPSK sequences and the converted BPSK sequences of each channel are clearly observed on the two polarization states. Moreover,the bit error rates(BERs) of the two converted idlers are measured. | 8 | NAS4RRAM: neural network architecture search for inference on RRAM-based accelerators显示文摘The RRAM-based accelerators enable fast and energy-efficient inference for neural networks.However, there are some requirements to deploy neural networks on RRAM-based accelerators, which are not considered in existing neural networks.(1) Because the noise problem and analog-digital converters/digitalanalog converters(ADC/DAC) affect the prediction accuracy, they should be modeled in networks.(2) Because the weights are mapped to the RRAM cells, they should be quantized, and the number of weights is limited by the number of RRAM cells in the accelerator. These requirements motivate us to customize the hardware-friendly network for the RRAM-based accelerator. We take the idea of network architecture search(NAS) to design networks with high prediction accuracy that meet the requirements. We propose a framework called NAS4RRAM to search for the optimal network on the given RRAM-based accelerator. The experiments demonstrate that NAS4RRAM can apply to different RRAM-based accelerators with different scales. | 10 | Betulinic acid protects against ovarian impairment by decreasing F-2 toxin-induced oxidative stress and inflammation associated with the downregulation of p38 expression in mice显示文摘F-2 toxin is an estrogenic mycotoxin that causes reproductive disorders in animals.Betulinic acid(BA)is a natural pentacyclic lupane-structure triterpenoid that has diverse pharmacological activities.In this study,the antioxidative and anti-inflammatory effects of BA and its underlying mechanism are explored in F-2 toxin-triggered mouse ovarian damage.We found that BA alleviated the F-2 toxin-induced ovarian impairment by stimulating follicle growth,reducing inflammatory cell infiltration,repairing damaged mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum.Simultaneously,BA not only reversed F-2 toxin-induced reduction of follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)and luteinizing hormone(LH)levels in the serum,but also restrained the protein expression of the estrogen receptors a(ERa)and ERβ.Moreover,BA restored the balance of F-2 toxin-induced ovarian redox system disorders.Subsequently,we found that 0.25 mg/kg BA played an anti-inflammatory role in the F-2 toxin-induced ovarian impairment by decreasing interleukin-1β(IL-1β).IL-6,and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)mRNA expression,as well as inhibiting p38 protein expression.These data demonstrated that BA exerts its protective effect on F-2 toxin-induced ovarian oxidative impairment and inflammation by inhibiting p38 expression,which implies a natural product-based medicine to ameliorate F-2 toxin-caused female reproductive toxicity and provides a detoxifying method for food contaminated by mycotoxin. | Li Kong Xinyu Gao Lijuan Zhu Xing Lin You Huang Chunlin Huang Wenjiang Yang Yazhi Chen Haoqiang Zhao Jing Wu Zhihang Yuan Jin’e Yi | 2024 | Food Science and Human Wellness2024,13,3: | 0 |
| 11 | Low-profile microwave lens antenna based on isotropic Huygens' metasurfaces显示文摘An isotropic electromagnetic(EM) lens based on Huygens' metasurface is proposed for 28.0 GHz lens antenna design. The lens consists of a series of non-resonant and subwavelength metallic patterns etched on both sides of an ultrathin dielectric substrate. Both electric and magnetic responses are introduced to realize desired abrupt phase change and high-efficiency transmission for the secondary wavelets in the incident wavefront. Then, a substrate-integrated waveguide(SIW) fed patch antenna is combined with the lens as the primary feed to form a low-profile lens antenna system. The simulated and measured results coincide with each other, and demonstrate that the prototype realizes 8.8 dB^12.6 dB gain increment and low side-lobe levels over the bandwidth of 26.7 GHz^30.0 GHz.
