| 3 | Impacts of changed litter inputs on soil CO_2 efflux in three forest types in central south China显示文摘Climate change is expected to cause the alteration of litter production in forests,which may result in substantial changes in soil CO2 efflux (FCO2) process as litter represents a major pathway of carbon from vegetation to the soils.In this study,we conducted an aboveground litter manipulation experiment to examine the influence of litter addition and exclusion on soil FCO2 in Camphor tree,Masson pine,and mixed Camphor tree and Masson pine forests in central south China.Litter input manipulation included three treatments:non-litter input (litter exclusion),double litter input (litter addition),and natural litter input (control).On average,litter exclusion significantly reduced soil FCO2 rate by approximately 39%,24% and 22% in Camphor tree forests,the Mixed forests,and Masson pine forests,respectively.On a yearly basis,double litter addition significantly increased soil CO2 by 12% in the Mixed forests (P=0.02) but not in both Camphor tree and Masson pine forests (P>0.05),when compared with their corresponding control treatments.However,litter addition increased soil FCO2 rates in the months of June-August in Camphor tree and Masson pine forests,coinciding with high soil temperature of summer conditions.Litter exclusion reduced soil FCO2 more than litter addition increased it in the study sites.Responses of soil respiration to litter input treatments varied with forest types.Litter input treatments did not alter the seasonal patterns of soil temperature and soil water content.Our results indicated that changes in aboveground litter as a result of global climate change and/or forest management have a great potential to alter soil respiration and soil carbon balance in forest ecosystems. | YAN WenDe CHEN XiaoYong TIAN DaLun PENG YuanYing WANG GuangJun ZHENG Wei | 2013 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,3: | 11 |
| 4 | Synthesis, nematicidal activity and docking study of novel chromone derivatives containing substituted pyrazole显示文摘A series of chromone derivatives containing substituted pyrazole were designed and synthesized.Preliminary bioassays showed that most of the synthesized compounds exhibited good nematicidal activity in vivo against Meloidogyne incognita at 10 mg/L. Among the tested compounds, A10 and A11 exhibited 100% inhibition rates. In addition, the molecular docking results indicated that both compound A10 and A11 interacts with amino acid residue Tyr121, Trp279, Tyr70, Trp84 and Phe330 of ACh E via hydrogen bond and p–p stacking. | 5 | Response of soil respiration to nitrogen addition in two subtropical forest types显示文摘Anthropogenic activities have increased nitrogen(N)deposition in terrestrial ecosystems,which directly and indirectly affects soil biogeochemical processes,including soil respiration.However,the effects of the increases in N availability on soil respiration are not fully understood.In this study,soil respiration was measured using an infrared gas analyzer system with soil chambers under four N treatments(0,5,15,and 30 g Nm^-2 year^-1 as control,low N(LN),moderate N(MN),and high N(HN),respectively)in camphor tree and slash pine forests in subtropical China.Results showed that soil respiration rates decreased by 37% in the camphor tree forest and 27% in the slash pine forest on average on an annual base,respectively,in the N-fertilized treatments when compared with the control.No significant differences were found in the soil respiration rate among the LN,MN,and HN treatments in both forest types as these fertilized plots reached an adequate N content zone.In addition,soil microbial biomass carbon(C)content and fine root biomass declined in N-treated plots compared to the control.Our results indicated that elevated N deposition might alter the tree growth pattern,C partitioning,and microbial activity,which further affect soil C sequestration by reducing soil respiration in subtropical forests of China. | Wende YAN Xiaoyong CHEN Yuanying PENG Fan ZHU Wei ZHEN Xuyuan ZHANG | 2020 | Pedosphere2020,30,4: | 6 |

| 8 | Microstructure and properties of Ga-modified 0.7BiFeO_3-0.3BaTiO_3 solid solution显示文摘Binary solid solutions 0.7Bi (GaxFe1-x)O3-0.3BaTiO3 (x = 0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.1) ceramics were prepared by traditional ceramic process. All the ceramic samples showed single perovskite phase except the sam- ple with x = 0.1. The effects of gallium doping on microstructure, ferromagnetic, ferroelectric, dielectric properties and conductivity were investigated. The results indicated that Ga-dopant could improve the sintering ability of the solid solution when the Ga content x was below 0.05. When x was over 0.05, the sintering ability of the solid solution was weakened, and the phase structure of 0.7BiFeO3-0.3BaTiO3 solid solution changed from rhombohedral phase into tetragonal ferroelectric phase. The electrical resistivity increased with the Ga content increasing. Both ferroelectricity and ferromagnetism were observed in all the ceramic samples. With the Ga content increasing, the remanent magnetization Mr increased and the magnetic coercive field Hc decreased. | 10 | Intraocular lens implantation performed first to protect the posterior capsule in Morgagnian cataracts during phacoemulsification显示文摘This study evaluated the safety of a modified method to implant an intraocular lens (IOL) into the capsular bag immediately after capsulorhexis with a whole or partial nucleus to protect the posterior capsule (PC) during phacoemulsification in a series of 12 Morgagnian cataracts. For 3 cases of hypermature cataracts with smaller and rigid nuclei, after a complete capsulorhexis, an IOL was directly inserted into the capsular bag, which protected the PC during the subsequent phacoemulsification process in the iris plate. For the other 9 cases with larger and softer nuclei, after the nucleus was partially emulsified, the IOL was inserted into the bag. Even with an obvious surge for some cases, the surgeries were uneventful in all 12 cases, with no PC rent or vitreous loss. | 14 | Electron-phonon coupling-assisted universal red luminescence of o-phenylenediamine-based carbon dots显示文摘Due to the complex core-shell structure and variety of surface functional groups,the photoluminescence(PL)mechanism of carbon dots(CDs)remain unclear.o-Phenylenediamine(oPD),as one of the most common precursors for preparing red emissive CDs,has been extensively studied.Interestingly,most of the red emission CDs based on oPD have similar PL emission characteristics.Herein,we prepared six different oPD-based CDs and found that they had almost the same PL emission and absorption spectra after purifiication.Structural and spectral characterization indicated that they had similar carbon core structures but diffferent surface polymer shells.Furthermore,single-molecule PL spectroscopy confirmed that the multi-modal emission of those CDs originated from the transitions of different vibrational energy levels of the same PL center in the carbon core.In addition,the phenomenon of'spectral splitting'of single-particle CDs was observed at low temperature,which confirmed these oPD-based CDs were unique materials with properties of both organic molecules and quantum dots.Finally,theoretical calculations revealed their potential polymerization mode and carbon core structure.Moreover,we proposed the PL mechanism of red-emitting CDs based on oPD precursors;that is,the carbon core regulates the PL emission,and the polymer shell regulates the PL intensity.Our work resolves the controversy on the PL mechanism of oPD-based red CDs.These findings provide a general guide for the mechanism exploration and structural analysis of other types of CDs. | Boyang Wang Zhihong Wei Laizhi Sui Jingkun Yu Baowei Zhang Xiaoyong Wang Shengnan Feng Haoqiang Song Xue Yong Yuxi Tian Bai Yang Siyu Lu | 2022 | Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,7: | 2 |

| 16 | Geochronology, Geochemistry, and Sr–Nd–Hf Isotopes of the Balazha Ore-Bearing Porphyries: Implications for Petrogenesis and Geodynamic Setting of Late Cretaceous Magmatic Rocks in the Northern Lhasa Block, Tibet显示文摘The study of Late Cretaceous magmatic rocks, developed as a result of magmatism and related porphyry mineralization in the northern Lhasa block, is of significance for understanding the associated tectonic setting and mineralization. This paper reports zircon chronology, zircon Hf isotope data, wholerock Sr–Nd isotope data, and geochemistry data of Balazha porphyry ores in the northern Lhasa block. Geochemical features show that Balazha ore-bearing porphyries in the northern Lhasa block belong to high-Mg# adakitic rocks with a formation age of ~90 Ma; this is consistent with the Late Cretaceous magmatic activity that occurred at around 90 Ma in the region. The age of adakitic rocks is similar to the molybdenite Re–Os model age of the ore-bearing porphyries in the northern Lhasa block, indicating that the diagenesis and mineralization of both occurred during the same magmatism event in the Late Cretaceous. The Hf and Sr–Nd isotope data indicate that these magmatic rocks are the product of crust–mantle mixing. Differing proportions of materials involved in such an event form different types of medium-acid rocks, including ore-bearing porphyries. | 17 | One-step preparation of branched PEG functionalized AIE-active luminescent polymeric nanoprobes显示文摘The synthesis of amphiphilic aggregation-induced emission(AIE) dyes based organic nanoparticles has recently attracted increasing attention in the biomedical fields. These AIE dyes based nanoparticles could effectively overcome the aggregation caused quenching effect of conventional organic dyes, making them promising candidates for fabrication of ultrabright organic luminescent nanomaterials. In this work, AIE-active luminescent polymeric nanoparticles(4-NH_2-PEG-TPE-E LPNs) were facilely fabricated through Michael addition reaction between tetraphenylethene acrylate(TPE-E) and 4-arm-poly(ethylene glycol)-amine(4-NH_2-PEG) in rather mild ambient. The 4-NH_2-PEG can not only endow these AIE-active LPNs good water dispersibility, but also provide functional groups for further conjugation reaction. The size, morphology and luminescent properties of 4-NH_2-PEG-TPE-E LPNs were characterized by a series of techniques in detail. Results suggested that these AIE-active LPNs showed spherical morphology with diameter about 100–200 nm. The obtained 4-NH_2-PEG-TPE-E LPNs display high water dispersibility and strong fluorescence intensity because of their self assembly and AIE properties of TPE-E.Biological evaluation results demonstrated that 4-NH_2-PEG-TPE-E LPNs showed negative toxicity toward cancer cells and good fluorescent imaging performance. | 18 | Trends of sea surface wind energy over the South China Sea显示文摘Studies on climate change typically consider temperature and precipitation over extended periods but less so the wind. We used the Cross-Calibrated Multi-Platform (CCMP) 24-year wind fi eld data set to investigate the trends of wind energy over the South China Sea during 1988-2011. The results reveal a clear trend of increase in wind power density for each of three base statistics (i.e., mean, 90 th percentile and 99 th percentile) in all seasons and for annual means. The trends of wind power density showed obvious temporal and spatial variations. The magnitude of the trends was greatest in winter, intermediate in spring, and smallest in summer and autumn. A greater trend of increase was found in the northern areas of the South China Sea than in southern parts. The magnitude of the annual and seasonal trends over the South China Sea was larger in extreme high events (i.e., 90 th and 99 th percentiles) compared to the mean conditions.
