1Clinicopathological and prognostic analysis of 429 patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma显示文摘AIM:To understand the clinicopathological characteristics and treatment selections and improve survival and provide valuable information for patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma(ICC). METHODS:We retrospectively evaluated 5311 liver cancer patients who received resection between October 1999 and December 2003.Of these,429(8.1%)patients were diagnosed with ICC,and their clinicopathological, surgical,and survival characteristics were analyzed. RESULTS:Upper abdominal discomfort or pain(65.0%), no symptoms(12.1%),and hypodynamia(8.2%)were the major causes for medical attention.Laboratory tests showed 198(46.4%)patients were HBsAg positive, 90(21.3%)hadα-fetoprotein>20μg/L,50(11.9%) carcinoembryonic antigen>10μg/L,and 242(57.5%) carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA19-9)>37 U/mL.Survival data was available for 329(76.7%)patients and their mean survival time was 12.4 mo.The overall survival of the patients with R0,R1 resection and punching exploration were 18.3,6.6 and 5.6 mo,respectively. Additionally,CA19-9>37 U/mL was associated with lymph node metastases,but inversely associated withcirrhosis.Multivariate analysis indicated that radical resection,lymph node metastases,macroscopic tumor thrombi and size,and CA19-9 were associated with prognosis. 2Prognostic factors in the surgical treatment of caudate lobe hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the short-and long-term outcomes of liver resection for caudate lobe hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).METHODS:We retrospectively analyzed 114 consecutive patients with HCC,originating from the caudate lobe,who underwent resection between January 2001 and January 2007.Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed on several clinicopathologic variables to determine the factors affecting long-term outcome and intrahepatic recurrence.RESULTS:Overall mortality and morbidity were 0% and 18%,respectively.After a median follow-up of 31 mo (interquartile range,11-66 mo),tumor recurrence had occurred in 76 patients (66.7%).The 1-,3-,and 5-year disease-free survival rates were 65.7%,38.1%,and 18.4%,respectively.The 1-,3-,and 5-year overall survival rates were 76.1%,54.7%,and 31.8%,respectively.Univariate analysis showed that subsegmental location of the tumor (45.7% vs 16.2%,P=0.01),liver cirrhosis (12.3% vs 47.9%,P=0.03),surgical margin (18.5% vs 54.6%,P=0.04),vascular invasion (37.9% vs 23.2%,P=0.04) and extended caudate resection (42.1% vs 15.4%,P=0.04) were related to poorer long-term survival.Multivariate analysis showed that only subsegmental location of the tumor,liver cirrhosis and surgical margin were significant independent prognostic factors.CONCLUSION:Hepatectomy was an effective treatment for HCC in the caudate lobe.The subsegmental location of the tumor,liver cirrhosis and surgical margin affected long-term survival.Peng Liu,Jia-Mei Yang,Wen-Yang Niu,Tong Kan,Feng Xie,Dian-Qi Li,Ye Wang,Yan-Ming Zhou,Department of Special Treatment and Liver Transplantation,Eastern Hepatobiliary Surgery Hospital,Second Military Medical University,Shanghai 200438,China Peng Liu,Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery,Navy General Hospital,Beijing 100037,China 2010World Journal of Gastroenterology2010,16,9:15
3Effects of dynamic ventilatory factors on ventilatorinduced lung injury in acute respiratory distress syndrome dogs显示文摘BACKGROUND:Mechanical ventilation is a double-edged sword to acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS) including lung injury,and systemic inflammatory response high tidal volumes are thought to increase mortality.The objective of this study is to evaluate the effects of dynamic ventilatory factors on ventilator induced lung injury in a dog model of ARDS induced by hydrochloric acid instillation under volume controlled ventilation and to investigate the relationship between the dynamic factors and ventilator-induced lung injuries(VILI) and to explore its potential mechanisms.METHODS:Thirty-six healthy dogs were randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group.Subjects in the experimental group were then further divided into four groups by different inspiratory stages of flow.Two mL of alveolar fluid was aspirated for detection of IL-8 and TNF-α.Lung tissue specimens were also extracted for total RNA,IL-8 by western blot and observed under an electronic microscope.RESULTS:IL-8 protein expression was significantly higher in group B than in groups A and D.Although the IL-8 protein expression was decreased in group C compared with group B,the difference was not statistically significant.The TNF-α ray degree of group B was significantly higher than that in the other groups(P<0.01),especially in group C(P>0.05).The alveolar volume of subjects in group B was significantly smaller,and cavity infiltration and cell autolysis were marked with a significant thicker alveolar septa,disorder of interval structures,and blurring of collagenous and elastic fiber structures.A large number of necrotic debris tissue was observed in group B.CONCLUSION:Mechanical ventilation with a large tidal volume,a high inspiratory flow and a high ventilation frequency can cause significant damage to lung tissue structure.It can significantly increase the expression of TNF-α and IL-8 as well as their mRNA expression.Furthermore,the results of our study showed that small tidal ventilation significantly reduces the release of proinflammatory media.This finding suggests that greater deterioration in lung injury during ARDS is associated with high inspiratory flow and high ventilation rate.Rui-lan Wang Kan Xu Kang-long Yu Xue Tang Hui Xie 2012World Journal of Emergency Medicine2012,3,4:8
4Changes of Reactive Oxygen Species and Related Enzymes in Mitochondria Respiratory Metabolism During the Ripening of Peach Fruit显示文摘The fruits of peach cultivar Yuhua 3 were used as materials to investigate the changes of active oxygen and related enzymes in mitochondria respiratory metabolism during ripening of peach fruit,involving their influence on the proceeding of peach fruit senescence.The results showed that the large decrease in firmness occurred between maturity II and IV.The decrease in firmness coincided with an increase in respiratory intensity.Obvious peaks of respiratory intensity lagging to the rapid change of fruit firmness could be shown during peach ripening.Reactive oxygen species(ROS) had a cumulative process and positively correlated with respiratory intensity.During peach ripening,the content of Ca2+ increased,the activities of succinic dehydrogenase(SDH),cytochrome C oxidase(CCO),H+-ATPase,and Ca2+-ATPase decreased varying in different degree at the later step of ripening.These suggested a close relationship existed between ROS metabolism and mitochondrial respiration,namely,both ROS metabolism and mitochondrial respiration probably played important roles in ripening and senescing of peach fruit.KAN Juan,WANG Hong-mei,JIN Chang-hai and XIE Hai-yan College of Food Science and Engineering,Yangzhou University,Yangzhou 225127,P.R.China 2010Agricultural Sciences in China2010,9,1:8
5Ion engine grids:Function,main parameters,issues,configurations,geometries,materials and fabrication methods显示文摘Ion optics are crucial components of ion thrusters and the study of the different ion extraction solutions used since the beginning of the electric propulsion era is essential to understand the evolution of ion engines. This work describes ion engine grids' main functions, parameters and issues related to thermal expansion and sputter erosion, and then introduces a review of ion optics used for significant launched and tested ion thrusters since 1970. 6Different Ablation Models for the Wall-plasma Interaction Process in Pulsed Plasma Thruster显示文摘Ablation excited by current pulses is a very critical physical process in pulse plasma thrusters(PPT).Its effects on wall-plasma interaction directly determine the PPT performances.In order to reveal the process of the ablated wall interaction with the discharge plasma in PPT,ablation models formulated by three different boundary conditions at the wall-plasma interface are studied.These are the two widely used high-speed evaporation models(Model-L and Model-M),and the recently developed Keida-Zaghloul model(Model-K)of the Knudsen layer that takes into account the internal degrees of freedom on the energy flux conservation.First,fundamental mechanisms of the three ablation models are clarified by comparative analysis in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of the wall-plasma interaction.Then,the applicability of different ablation models with the numerical solutions of LES-6 PPT is investigated in detail using magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)modeling.Results show that Model-L and Model-M are actually special cases of Model-K when a simplified jump conditions limited by high velocity at the vapor/plasma interface is used;A ratio of ablation rate in Model-L to that in Model-M is about 0.8at the same wall surface temperature,while it rises to 1 at different surface temperature determined by Model-L and Model-M in PPT.Even though Model-K solution requires significant computational time,it shows more accurate ablation feature for the wall-plasma interaction and possesses better computing precision of impulse bit during post-pulse which is useful for future studies of the late time ablation.YANG Lei LIU Xiangyang WANG Siyu XIE Kan WU Zhiwen WANG Ningfei 2013高电压技术2013,39,9:3

8Acclimatory responses to high-salt stress in Chlamydomonas (Chlorophyta, Chlorophyceae) from Antarctica显示文摘Antarctic ice microalga can survive and thrive in channels or pores containing high salinity in Antarctic ice layer. In this study, it was found that cell membrane permeability of green microalga Chlamydomonas sp. L4 from Antarctic sea ice was high in cells treated with hypersalinity due to the induction of active oxygen and radicals. However, increased super oxide dismutase (SOD) scavenged harmful free radicals effectively to keep cell membrane integrity. Also, the analysis of membrane fatty acids demonstrated the content of saturated fatty acids and monounsaturated fatty acids increased and polyunsaturated fatty acids decreased under the high-salt treatment for 14 d, which effectively reduced the membrane fluidity and minimized the injury to cell membrane. The morpho- logical changes showed that hypersalinity induced the increase of cell volume and the consumption of starch granules. However, because of the increase in detoxification of vacuoles, electron-dense deposits and SOD activity under high-salt stress, the complete noninterference thylakoids, mitochondria and cell nucleus maintained cellular fundamental metabolism. Global-expression profiling of proteins showed eight protein spots disappeared, 18 protein spots decreased and 18 protein spots were enhanced after the high-salt shock obviously (P <0.05). One new peptide (pI 6.90; MW 51 kDa) was primarily confirmed as the processor of light reaction center protein CP43 in photosystem II, which increased photosynthesis ability of Chlamydomonas sp. 9Comparative Study of the Genetic Diversity, Antimicrobial Resistance, and Pathogenicity of Aeromonas Isolates from Clinical Patients and Healthy Individuals显示文摘Objective This study was performed to compare the genetic diversity,virulence,and antimicrobial resistance of Aeromonas strains isolated from patients and healthy individuals.Methods A total of 38 clinical strains and 19 strains from healthy individuals were isolated from the samples collected in Ma’anshan City,Anhui Province.Their taxonomy was investigated using concatenated gyrB-cpn60 sequences,and their resistance to 12 antibiotics was evaluated.The pathogenicity of these strains was examined through beta-hemolysis,protease activity,and virulence gene assays.Results The 57 Aeromonas strains were divided into 55 sequence types.Of these types,21 were novel,suggesting that their genetic diversity was high.These Aeromonas isolates could be divided into 7 species,and the positive rates of beta-hemolysis and protease activity were 49.1%and 73.7%,respectively.The detection rate of clinical patients in terms of beta-hemolysis and protease activity was higher than that of healthy individuals.Among the four most common Aeromonas strains,A.dhakensis had the highest detection rate of virulence genes.The multidrug resistance rate of the clinical isolates was much higher than that of the strains isolated from healthy individuals.Conclusions The taxonomy,virulence properties,and antibiotic resistance of Aeromonas isolates from patients differ from those of the isolates from healthy individuals.MENG Shuang DU Xiao Li WANG Yong Lu QU Feng Tian XIE Gui Lin ZHOU Hai Jian HU Jin Rui QIN Zheng WANG Yue KAN Biao CUI Zhi Gang 2021Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2021,34,6:2

19腹腔化疗或联合其他方法综合治疗晚期原发性肝癌72例的疗效观察(英文)显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the effect of intraperitoneal chemotherapy or in combination with other therapies in pa- tients with advanced primary liver cancer. Methods: 72 patients with advanced primary liver cancer with no indication for surgery received intraperitoneal chemotherapy in combination with other therapies including transcatheter arterial chemoem- bolization (TACE), radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFA), percutaneous ethanol injection therapy (PEIT) and radiotherapy. Of them, 29 cases were complicated with hilar or retroperitoneal multiple lymph node metastases, 14 with portal vein em- bolus, 15 with intraperitoneal and diaphragmatic metastases, 6 with chylous ascites, one with cancerous ascites, and 7 with suspected cancerous ascites (referring to large amounts of ascites without hypoproteinemia while exfoliative cytology of the ascites was positive). The mean maximum tumor size was 8.2 cm in diameter. Liver function at the initial treatment was Child A in 53 cases, and Child B in 19 cases. Intraperitoneal chemotherapy was performed in all these patients. The intraperitoneal chemotherapy protocols included: 5-FU 0.5-0.75 g/d for 10-15 consecutive days, with a total dosage of 5-12.5 g, and at the last day of chemotherapy 10 mg mitomycin (MMC) or 100 mg carboplatin was injected. For 7 cases of cholangiocarcinoma, Gemzar 800-1000 mg was administered additionally. A majority of all these patients received another one or two therapy methods followed by intraperitoneal chemotherapy. TACE was performed in the patients with multiple tumors or nodule more than 5 cm in diameter in the liver, RFA or PEIT with nodule fewer than 4 in number and 5 cm or less than 5 cm in diameter and radiotherapy, only for metastases, with metastatic lymph nodes, localized metastasis within the abdominal cavity or portal vein embolus. Interval time between two methods was one month or so. Two months after the sequential therapy, repeated treatment would be given if general medical condition and liver function were perfect at that time. Results: The median sur- vival time of the group was 13.97 ± 6.27 months. The 1- and 2-year survival rates were 59.7% and 30.6% respectively. The mean survival time of the patients with liver function Child A was 15.91 ± 5.49 months, and that of the patients with Child B was 8.55 ± 5.09 months. The difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Intraperitoneal chemotherapy or in combination with other therapies in patients with advanced primary liver cancer with metastases to abdominal cavity is an effective method. 20Towards Friction Stir Remanufacturing of High‑Strength Aluminum Components显示文摘Volumetric defects in high-strength aluminum alloy components were repaired via friction stir remanufacturing(FSR).Various consumable pins made of AA7075-T6 were designed.Top diameters of the consumable pins afected material fow,which ensured that the materials at the repairing interface were forged to metallurgical bonding.Conical angles determined load transfer besides material fow,which afected the fracture of the pins before the dwelling stage.Sound repaired components were achieved when the conical angle of the consumable pin was 1°larger than that of the volumetric defect.The ultimate tensile strength and elongation of the repaired components reached 445.9 MPa and 9.6%,respectively.The design criteria of the consumable pin in the FSR was established,which provided valuable references to repair volumetric defects in high-strength aluminum components.Xiangchen Meng Yuming Xie Xiaotian Ma Mingyang Liang Xiaoyang Peng Shiwei Han Lei Kan Xin Wang Sihao Chen Yongxian Huang 2023Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2023,36,1:1
