| 1 | Speciation of iron in atmospheric particulate matter by EXAFS显示文摘The study on elemental speciation in atmospheric particulate matter (PM) is important for understanding the formation and origin of pollution and evaluating their toxicity. In this paper,the speci- ation of iron in atmospheric PM was investigated with extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) spectra based on synchrotron radiation. The chemi- cal components of PM can be calculated by regres- sion analysis of EXAFS spectra. This is a non-destructive method. In order to have knowledge of the influence of chemical components on EXAFS spectra,we prepared a series of mixed reference samples,and proved the precision of method is good. The PM samples with different particle sizes and from different sampling sites were collected in Shanghai,China. The chemical components of the samples were calculated by regression analysis of EXAFS spectra. The results show that the iron in all PM samples mainly consist of Fe2O3,Fe3O4 and Fe2(SO4)3,but their proportions are different in dif- ferent samples. The changes of components among PM samples were observed preliminarily. The con- centrations of iron in the samples were determined by proton-induced X-ray emission (PIXE) technique. | 2 | Preparation and characteristics of flexible all-organic thin-film field-effect transistor显示文摘All-organic thin-film field-effect transistor was prepared on flexible poly(ethylene-terephthalate) (PET) substrate. Poly(methyl-methacrylate) (PMMA) and pentacene are used as a dielectric layer and a semiconductor layer, respectively. The hole mobility of the transistor can reach 2.10×10-2 cm2/Vs, and the on/off current ratio was larger than 105. The performances of the transistor, when the substrate is cured under different radius, were also measured. | 3 | Effects of metal cations on sorption-desorption of p-nitrophenol onto wheat ash显示文摘The mutual effects of metal cations(Cu2+,Pb2+,Zn2+,and Cd2+) and p-nitrophenol(NP) on their adsorption desorption behavior onto wheat ash were studied.Results suggested that Cu2+,Pb2+,and Zn2+ diminished the adsorption and increased the desorption of NP remarkably,while Cd2+ had no such effect.In contrast,NP diminished the adsorption of Cu2+,Pb2+,and Zn2+ onto ash,however,this suppression effect depended on the initial concentrations of metal cations.NP had no effect on Cd2+ adsorption on ash.Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) and X-ray absorption spectroscopic(XAS) studies suggested the following mechanisms responsible for the metal suppression effect on NP adsorption:(1) large hydrated Cu2+,Pb2+,and Zn2+ shells occupied the surface of ash and prevent nonspecific adsorption of NP onto ash surface;(2) Cu2+,Pb2+,and Zn2+ may block the micropores of ash,resulting in decreased adsorption of NP;(3) complexation of Cu2+,Pb2+,and Zn2+ was likely via carboxyl,hydroxylic and phenolic groups of wheat ash and these same groups may also react with NP during adsorption.As a 'soft acid',Cd2+ is less effcient in the complexation of oxygencontaining acid groups than Cu2+,Pb2+,and Zn2+.Thus,Cd2+ had no effect on the adsorption of NP on wheat ash. | YushengWang Zhiguo Pei Xiaoquan Shan Guangcai Chen Jing Zhang Yaning Xie Lirong Zheng | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,1: | 5 |

| 9 | Prediction of water table depths under soil water-groundwater interaction and stream water conveyance显示文摘Water table over an arid region can be elevated to a critical level to sustain terrestrial ecosystem along the natural channel by the stream water conveyance. Estimation of water table depth and soil moisture on river channel profile may be reduced to a two-dimensional moving boundary problem with soil water-groundwater interaction. The two-dimensional soil water flow with stream water transferred is divided into an unsaturated vertical soil water flow and a horizontal groundwater flow. Therefore, a prediction model scheme for water table depths under the interaction between soil water and groundwater with stream water transferred is presented, which includes a vertical soil water movement model, a horizontal groundwater movement model, and an interface model. The synthetic experiments are conducted to test the sensitivities of the river elevation, horizontal conductivity, and surface flux, and the results from the experiments show the robustness of the proposed scheme under different conditions.
