| 3 | 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. | 5 | Crustal structure of the northeastern Tibetan plateau,the Ordos block and the Sichuan basin from ambient noise tomography显示文摘We apply ambient noise tomography to significant seismic data resources in a region including the northeastern Tibetan plateau,the Ordos block and the Sichuan basin.The seismic data come from about 160 stations of the provincial broadband digital seismograph networks of China.Ambient noise cross-correlations are performed on the data recorded between 2007 and 2009 and high quality inter-station Rayleigh phase velocity dispersion curves are obtained between periods of 6 s to 35 s.Resulting Rayleigh wave phase velocity maps possess a lateral resolution between 100 km and 200 km.The phase velocities at short periods (<20 s) are lower in the Sichuan basin,the northwest segment of the Ordos block and the Weihe graben,and outline sedimentary deposits.At intermediate and long periods (>25 s),strong high velocity anomalies are observed within the Ordos block and the Sichuan basin and low phase velocities are imaged in the northeastern Tibetan plateau,reflecting the variation of crustal thickness from the Tibetan plateau to the neighboring regions in the east.Crustal and uppermost mantle shear wave velocities vary strongly between the Tibetan plateau,the Sichuan basin and the Ordos block.The Ordos block and the Sichuan basin are dominated by high shear wave velocities in the crust and uppermost mantle.There is a triangle-shaped low velocity zone located in the northeastern Tibetan plateau,whose width narrows towards the eastern margin of the plateau.No low velocity zone is apparent beneath the Qinling orogen,suggesting that mass may not be able to flow eastward through the boundary between the Ordos block and the Sichuan basin in the crust and uppermost mantle. | Yong Zheng Yingjie Yang Michael H. | 7 | Puerarin protects rat brain against ischemia/reperfusion injury by suppressing autophagy via the AMPK-mT OR-ULK1 signaling pathway显示文摘Puerarin suppresses autophagy to alleviate cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury, and accumulating evidence indicates that the AMPKm TOR signaling pathway regulates the activation of the autophagy pathway through the coordinated phosphorylation of ULK1. In this study, we investigated the mechanisms underlying the neuroprotective effect of puerarin and its role in modulating autophagy via the AMPK-m TOR-ULK1 signaling pathway in the rat middle cerebral artery occlusion model of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury. Rats were intraperitoneally injected with puerarin, 50 or 100 mg/kg, daily for 7 days. Then, 30 minutes after the final administration, rats were subjected to transient middle cerebral artery occlusion for 90 minutes. Then, after 24 hours of reperfusion, the Longa score and infarct volume were evaluated in each group. Autophagosome formation was observed by transmission electron microscopy. LC3, Beclin-1 p62, AMPK, m TOR and ULK1 protein expression levels were examined by immunofluorescence and western blot assay. Puerarin substantially reduced the Longa score and infarct volume, and it lessened autophagosome formation in the hippocampal CA1 area following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury in a dose-dependent manner. Pretreatment with puerarin(50 or 100 mg/kg) reduced Beclin-1 expression and the LC3-II/LC3-I ratio, as well as p-AMPK and p S317-ULK1 levels. In comparison, it increased p62 expression. Furthermore, puerarin at 100 mg/kg dramatically increased the levels of p-m TOR and p S757-ULK1 in the hippocampus on the ischemic side. Our findings suggest that puerarin alleviates autophagy by activating the APMK-m TOR-ULK1 signaling pathway. | 8 | Crustal and upper mantle structure and the deep seismogenic environment in the source regions of the Lushan earthquake and the Wenchuan earthquake显示文摘Following the M w 7.9 Wenchuan earthquake, the M w 6.6 Lushan earthquake is another devastating earthquake that struck the Longmenshan Fault Zone (LFZ) and caused severe damages. In this study, we collected continuous broadband ambient noise seismic data and earthquake event data from Chinese provincial digital seismic network, and then utilized ambient noise tomography method and receiver function method to obtain high resolution shear wave velocity structure, crustal thickness, and Poisson ratio in the earthquake source region and its surroundings. Based on the tomography images and the receiver function results, we further analyzed the deep seismogenic environment of the LFZ and its neighborhood. We reveal three main findings: (1) There is big contrast of the shear wave velocities across the LFZ. (2) Both the Lushan earthquake and the Wenchuan earthquake occurred in the regions where crustal shear wave velocity and crustal thickness change dramatically. The rupture faults and the aftershock zones are also concentrated in the areas where the lateral gradients of crustal seismic wave speed and crustal thickness change significantly, and the focal depths of the earthquakes are concentrated in the transitional depths where shear wave velocities change dramatically from laterally uniform to laterally non-uniform. (3) The Wenchuan earthquake and its aftershocks occurred in low Poisson ratio region, while the Lushan earthquake sequences are located in high Poisson ratio zone. We proposed that the effect of the dramatic lateral variation of shear wave velocity, and the gravity potential energy differences caused by the big contrast in the topography and the crustal thickness across the LFZ may constitute the seismogenic environment for the strong earthquakes in the LFZ, and the Poisson ratio difference between the rocks in the south and north segments of the Longmenshan Fault zone may explain the 5 years delay of the occurrence of the Lushan earthquake than the Wenchuan earthquake. | ZHENG Yong GE Can XIE ZuJun YANG YingJie XIONG Xiong HSU HouTze | 2013 | Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,7: | 37 |
| 9 | Effects of dietary protein/energy ratio on growth performance,carcass trait,meat quality,and plasma metabolites in pigs of different genotypes显示文摘Background:The protein/energy ratio is important for the production performance and utilization of available feed resources by animals.Increased protein consumption by mammals leads to elevated feed costs and increased nitrogen release into the environment.This study aimed to evaluate the effects of dietary protein/energy ratio on the growth performance,carcass traits,meat quality,and plasma metabolites of pigs of different genotypes.Methods:Bama mini-pigs and Landrace pigs were randomly assigned to two dietary treatment groups(Chinese conventional diet with low protein/energy ratio or National Research Council diet with high protein/energy ratio;n = 24 per treatment) in a 2x2 factorial arrangement.Blood and muscle samples were collected at the end of the nursery,growing,and finishing phases.Results:We observed significant interactions(P< 0.05) between breed and diet for total fat percentage,intramuscular fat(IMF) content,protein content in biceps femoris(BF) muscle,and plasma urea nitrogen(UN) concentration in the nursery phase;for average daily gain(ADG),average daily feed intake(ADFI),dry matter,IMF content in psoas major(PM) muscle,and plasma total protein and albumin concentrations in the growing phase;and for drip loss and plasma UN concentration in the finishing phase.Breed influenced(P < 0.05) growth performance,carcass traits,and meat quality,but not plasma metabolites.Throughout the trial,Landrace pigs showed significantly higher(P < 0.05) ADG,ADFI,dressing percentage,lean mass rate,and loin-eye area than did Bama mini-pigs,but significantly lower(P< 0.05)feed/gain ratio,fat percentage,backfat thickness,and IMF content.Dietary protein/energy ratio influenced the pH value,chemical composition of BF and PM muscles,and plasma activities of glutamic-pyruvic transaminase and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase,and plasma concentration of UN.Conclusions:Compared with Landrace pigs,Bama mini-pigs showed slower growth and lower carcass performance,but had better meat quality.Moreover,unlike Landrace pigs,the dietary protein/energy ratio did not affect the growth performance of Bama mini-pigs.These results suggest that,in swine production,low dietary protein/energy ratio may be useful for reducing feed costs and minimizing the adverse effects of ammonia release into the environment. | Yingying Liu Xiangfeng Kong Guoli Jiang Bi'e Tan Jinping Deng Xiaojian Yang Fengna Li Xia Xiong Yulong Yin | 2015 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2015,6,4: | 37 |

| 13 | Optimization design and test of rice plug seedling transplanting mechanism of planetary gear train with incomplete eccentric circular gear and non-circular gears显示文摘In order to solve the problem of the high-speed mechanized transplanting of rice plug seedlings,the design requirements of transplanting mechanism for rice plug seedlings were analyzed and a kind of rice plug seedling transplanting mechanism of planetary gear train based on the drive with incomplete eccentric circular gear and non-circular gears was designed innovatively.The laboratory kinematics was examined.The working principle of the transplanting mechanism for rice plug seedlings was studied,kinematics analysis of the transplanting mechanism was carried out and its kinematic model was set up.A human-computer interaction optimization method was used to optimize the parameters of the transplanting mechanism.The computer aided analysis and optimization software of the transplanting mechanism based on Visual Basic 6.0 was developed.Through analyzing the influence of design variables on the optimization objectives of the transplanting mechanism,a set of parameters of the transplanting mechanism which meet the requirements of transplanting trajectory and posture for transplanting rice seedlings were obtained by means of human-computer interaction.The structure of the transplanting mechanism was designed according to this set of parameters,and its virtual prototype and physical prototype were set up and manufactured,respectively.The kinematic simulation test and high-speed photography kinematic test of the transplanting mechanism were conducted to obtain its kinematic performances,such as transplanting trajectory and posture.The results of bench test,simulation analysis and theoretical analysis were almost in agreement,which verified the correctness of the theoretical model and design results of the transplanting mechanism,indicating that the optimized transplanting mechanism can satisfy the requirements of transplanting rice seedlings and be applied in the rice plug seedling transplanter. | Ye Bingliang Yi Weiming Yu Gaohong Gao Yang Zhao Xiong | 2017 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,6: | 31 |

| 15 | Association between vascular endothelial growth factor and metastasis after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘BACKGROUND: Hypoxia up-regulates vascular endothelialgrowth factor (VEGF) and stimulates the growth of hepa-tocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells. This study was designedto investigate the association between changes in plasmaVEGF levels after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) and HCC progression, especially in relation tometastasis.METHODS: Plasma VEGF levels were measured by quati-tative sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA R&D system). Plasma VEGF levels were measuredbefore, 3 days and 4 weeks after TACE in 30 patients withHCC. The development of metastasis was evaluated at theend of the third month after TACE.RESULTS: The plasma VEGF levels of the 30 patients withHCC were 154.47±90.17 pg/ml. The total plasma VEGFlevels after TACE increased compared with their basal levels(P<0.05), and the plasma VEGF levels had a tendency toincrease in patients with heterogenous uptake of iodizdoiland portal vein thrombosis. | 18 | Prognostic significance of combined preoperative fibrinogen and CA199 in gallbladder cancer patients显示文摘AIM To investigate the prognostic value of the combination of preoperative plasma fibrinogen and CA199 in patients with gallbladder carcinoma(GBC).METHODS The clinicopathological data of 154 GBC patients were retrospectively reviewed after surgery. A receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve was plotted to verify the optimum cut-off values for plasma fibrinogen and CA199. Univariate and multivariate survival analyses were performed to identify the factors associated with GBC prognosis. based on the HRs calculated via multivariate survival analyses, patients with elevated plasma fibrinogen and CA199 levels were allocated a score of 2.1; those with an elevated plasma fibrinogen level only were allocated a score of 1, those with an elevated CA199 level only were allocated a score of 1.1, and those with neither of these abnormalities were allocated a score of 0.RESULTS ROC curve analysis showed that the optimum cut-off values for preoperative plasma fibrinogen and CA199 were 3.47 g/L and 25.45 U/mL, respectively. Multivariate analysis indicated that elevated preoperative plasma fibrinogen and CA199 levels were significantly correlated with worse overall survival(OS)(HR = 1.711, 95%CI: 1.114-2.627, P = 0.014, and HR = 1.842, 95%CI: 1.111-3.056, P = 0.018). When we combined these two parameters, the area under the ROC curve increased from 0.735(for preoperative plasma fibrinogen only) and 0.729(for preoperative CA199 only) to 0.765. | 19 | Delayed ethyl pyruvate therapy attenuates experimental severe acute pancreatitis via reduced serum high mobility group box 1 levels in rats显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effect of delayed ethyl pyruvate (EP) delivery on distant organ injury, survival time and serum high mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) levels in rats with experimental severe acute pancreatitis (SAP). METHODS: A SAP model was induced by retrograde injection of artificial bile into the pancreatic ducts of rats. Animals were divided randomly into three groups (n = 32 in each group): sham group, SAP group and delayed EP treatment group. The rats in the delayed EP treatment group received EP (30 mg/kg) at 12 h, 18 h and 30 h after induction of SAP. Animals were sacrificed, and samples were obtained at 24 h and 48 h after induction of SAP. Serum HMGB1, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and creatinine (Cr) levels were measured. Lung wet-to-dry-weight (W/D) ratios and histological scores were calculated to evaluate lung injury. Additional experiments were performed between SAP and delayed EP treatment groups to study the in? uence of EP on survival times of SAP rats. RESULTS: Delayed EP treatment significantly reduced serum HMGB1 levels, and protected against liver, renal and lung injury with reduced lung W/D ratios (8.22 ±0.42 vs 9.76 ± 0.45, P < 0.01), pulmonary histological scores (7.1 ± 0.7 vs 8.4 ± 1.1, P < 0.01), serum AST (667 ± 103 vs 1 368 ± 271, P < 0.01), ALT (446 ± 91 vs 653 ± 98, P < 0.01) and Cr (1.2 ± 0.3 vs 1.8 ± 0.3, P < 0.01) levels. SAP rats had a median survival time of 44 h. Delayed EP treatment signifi cantly prolonged median survival time to 72 h (P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: Delayed EP therapy protects against distant organ injury and prolongs survival time via reduced serum HMGB1levels in rats with experimental SAP. | 20 | Genome analysis of Taraxacum kok-saghyz Rodin provides new insights into rubber biosynthesis显示文摘The Russian dandelion Taraxacum kok-saghyz Rodin(TKS), a member of the Composite family and a potential alternative source of natural rubber(NR) and inulin, is an ideal model system for studying rubber biosynthesis. Here we present the draft genome of TKS, the first assembled NR-producing weed plant. The draft TKS genome assembly has a length of 1.29 Gb, containing 46 731 predicted protein-coding genes and68.56% repeats, in which the LTR-RT elements predominantly contribute to the genome enlargement. We analyzed the heterozygous regions/genes, suggesting its possible involvement in inbreeding depression.Through comparative studies between rubber-producing and non-rubber-producing plants, we found that enzymes of the mevalonate(MVA) pathway and rubber elongation might be critical for rubber biosynthesis, and several key isoforms have been isolated and shown to be predominantly expressed in the latex, indicating their crucial functions in rubber biosynthesis. Moreover, for two important families in rubber elongation, the CPT/CPTL and REF/SRPP families, diverse evolutionary tracks have been revealed.
