| 1 | Bioactive hydrogels for bone regeneration显示文摘Bone self-healing is limited and generally requires external intervention to augment bone repair and regeneration.While traditional methods for repairing bone defects such as autografts,allografts,and xenografts have been widely used,they all have corresponding disadvantages,thus limiting their clinical use.Despite the development of a variety of biomaterials,including metal implants,calcium phosphate cements(CPC),hydroxyapatite,etc.,the desired therapeutic effect is not fully achieved.Currently,polymeric scaffolds,particularly hydrogels,are of interest and their unique configurations and tunable physicochemical properties have been extensively studied.This review will focus on the applications of various cutting-edge bioactive hydrogels systems in bone regeneration,as well as their advantages and limitations.We will examine the composition and defects of the bone,discuss the current biomaterials for bone regeneration,and classify recently developed polymeric materials for hydrogel synthesis.We will also elaborate on the properties of desirable hydrogels as well as the fabrication techniques and different delivery strategies.Finally,the existing challenges,considerations,and the future prospective of hydrogels in bone regeneration will be outlined. | Xin Bai Mingzhu Gao Sahla Syed Jerry Zhuang Xiaoyang Xu Xue-Qing Zhang | 2018 | Bioactive Materials2018,3,4: | 15 |
| 2 | 中国在2100年前消除子宫颈癌的预算优化策略研究显示文摘2018年,世界卫生组织总干事公布了全球消除子宫颈癌的目标,即发病率降至4/10万以下。中国目前人群人乳头瘤病毒(HPV)疫苗接种率和宫颈癌筛查覆盖率均较低,子宫颈癌发病率以年均10.2%的速度增长。本研究开发了一种适应中国人群并经校准的杂交模型,在预测老龄化、城市化和性行为可能改变的趋势下,估计2015—2100年城市和农村每年的子宫颈癌发病率,并确定在不同预算投入下实现消除子宫颈癌目标的最优防控策略。研究结果显示,若不增加子宫颈癌防控预算,到2100年,子宫颈癌发病率预计将达到2015年的3倍;若2020年开始采用优化的防控策略,即95%的12岁女孩接种HPV疫苗,扩大45岁女性终生一次宫颈癌筛查的覆盖率,使城市女性覆盖率达90%、农村女性覆盖率达33%,则预计2072(95%CI:2070—2074)年在城市、2074(95%CI:2072—2076)年在农村可实现消除子宫颈癌的目标;若预算不受限制,最早在2057年(2053—2060年)和2060年(2057—2063年)将分别在城市、农村消除子宫颈癌。中国可通过优化宫颈癌综合防控策略,尽早在适龄人群中引入HPV疫苗来实现消除宫颈癌的目标;并可通过增加预算来加速消除进程,大幅减少罹患子宫颈癌的人数。 | 赵宇倩 乔良(编译) Xia CF Hu SY Xu Xq | 2019 | 中华预防医学杂志2019,53,11: | 15 |
| 3 | Optical observations of LIGO source GW 170817 by the Antarctic Survey Telescopes at Dome A,Antarctica显示文摘The LIGO detection of gravitational waves(GW) from merging black holes in 2015 marked the beginning of a new era in observational astronomy. The detection of an electromagnetic signal from a GW source is the critical next step to explore in detail the physics involved. The Antarctic Survey Telescopes(AST3),located at Dome A, Antarctica, is uniquely situated for rapid response time-domain astronomy with its continuous night-time coverage during the austral winter. We report optical observations of the GW source(GW 170817) in the nearby galaxy NGC 4993 using AST3. The data show a rapidly fading transient at around 1 day after the GW trigger, with the i-band magnitude declining from 17:23 ± 0:13 magnitude to 17:72 ± 0:09 magnitude in ~1:8 h. The brightness and time evolution of the optical transient associated with GW 170817 are broadly consistent with the predictions of models involving merging binary neutron stars. | 4 | Gastric precancerous lesions are associated with gene variants in Helicobacter pylori -susceptible ethnic Malays显示文摘AIM: To identify genes associated with gastric pre-cancerous lesions in Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori )susceptible ethnic Malays. METHODS: Twenty-three Malay subjects with H. pylori infection and gastric precancerous lesions identified during endoscopy were included as 'cases'. Thirtyseven Malay subjects who were H. pylori negative and had no precancerous lesions were included as 'controls'. Venous blood was collected for genotyping with Affymetrix 50K Xba1 kit. Genotypes with call rates < 90% for autosomal single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were excluded. For each precancerous lesion, associated SNPs were identified from Manhattan plots, and only SNPs with a χ2 P value < 0.05 and Hardy Weinberg Equilibrium P value > 0.5 was considered as significant markers. RESULTS: Of the 23 H. pylori -positive subjects recruited, one sample was excluded from further analysis due to a low genotyping call rate. Of the 22 H. pylori positive samples, atrophic gastritis only was present in 50.0%, complete intestinal metaplasia was present in 18.25%, both incomplete intestinal metaplasia and dysplasia was present in 22.7%, and dysplasia only was present in 9.1%. SNPs rs9315542 (UFM1 gene), rs6878265 (THBS4 gene), rs1042194 (CYP2C19 gene) and rs10505799 (MGST1 gene) were significantly associated with atrophic gastritis, complete intestinal metaplasia, incomplete metaplasia with foci of dysplasia and dysplasia, respectively. Allele frequencies in 'cases' vs 'controls' for rs9315542, rs6878265, rs1042194 and rs10505799 were 0.4 vs 0.06, 0.6 vs 0.01, 0.6 vs 0.01 and 0.5 vs 0.02, respectively. | 6 | Comparison of tumor response following conventional versus drug-eluting bead transarterial chemoembolization in early-and very early-stage hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Objective:To compare the safety of conventional transarterial chemoembolization(cTACE)vs drug-eluting bead TACE(DEB-TACE)in very early-and early-stage hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods:Data of patients with early-and very early-stage HCC treated with cTACE or DEB-TACE were evaluated retrospectively in this study.A total of 40 patients were included,20 treated with cTACE and 20 with DEB-TACE.The cTACE and DEB-TACE groups were comprised of 80%and 75%males,while there were 20%females in cTACE group and 25%in Deb-TACE group respectively.The mean age of patients in cTACE group was 57.43+5.6 years,while it was 56.4+5.5 years in DEB-TACE group.All patients had liver status of Child–Pugh Class A and a score≤7 in Child-Pugh class type B in very early-(stage 0)or early-phase(stage A)stages according to the Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer(BCLC)system.Results:The Child-Pugh class degradation in the cTACE group was slightly higher than that in the DEB-TACE group.Serious complications like peritumoral parenchymal ischemia were observed in 4 patients in the cTACE group and 5 in the DEB-TACE group.Localized bile duct dilation was seen in 2 patients in the cTACE group and 6 in the DEB-TACE group.No significant variation in serious complications between the two groups was established in localized bile duct dilatation.Other minor complications noted were liver failure,liver abscess,liver infarction,acute cholecystitis,biliary tree necrosis,and mortality.Further,no substantial variation in tumor response between the groups was reported immediately and 1-year post-procedural assessment.Conversion rate to other treatment modalities such as surgical resection,radiofrequency ablation(RFA),or swap between cTACE and DEB-TACE was substantially higher in the DEB-TACE group(40%)than in the cTACE group(10%)at the 1-year completion period of the study.Conclusion:In terms of tumor response,the DEB-TACE group showed a better response,to some extent,as an initial therapy for HCC in the early stages as compared to the cTACE group,and DEB-TACE also exhibited better clinical efficacy in patients with HCC. | Murtuza Razi Syed Safiullah Jianping Gu Xu He Mustafa Razi Jie Kong | 2022 | Journal of Interventional Medicine2022,5,1: | 3 |

| 10 | Incorporation of layered tin(Ⅳ) phosphate in graphene framework for high performance lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘To anchor the polysulfide and enhance the conversion kinetics of polysulfide to disulfide/sulfide is critical for improving the performance of lithium-sulfur battery.For this purpose,the graphene-supported tin(Ⅳ) phosphate(Sn(HPO_4)_2·H_2 O,SnP) composites(SnP-G) are employed as the novel sulfur hosts in this work.When compared to the graphene-sulfur and carbon-sulfur composites,the SnP-G-sulfur composites exhibit much better cycling performance at 1.0 C over 800 cycles.Meanwhile,the pouch cell fabricated with the SnP-G-sulfur cathodes also exhibits excellent performance with an initial capacity of1266.6 mAh g^(-1)(S) and capacity retention of 76.9% after 100 cycles at 0.1 C.The adsorption tests,density functional theory(DFT) calculations in combination with physical cha racterizations and electrochemical measurements provide insights into the mechanism of capture-accelerated conversion mechanism of polysulfide at the surface of SnP.DFT calculations indicate that the Li-O bond formed between Li atom(from Li_2 S_n,n=1,2,4,6,8) and O atom(from PO_3-OH in SnP) is the main reason for the strong interactions between Li_2 S_n and SnP.As a result,SnP can effectively restrain the shuttle effect and improving the cycling performance of Li-S cell.In addition,by employing the climbing-image nudged elastic band(ciNEB) methods,the energy barrier for lithium sulfide decomposition(charging reaction) on SnP is proved to decrease significantly compared to that on graphene.It can be concluded that SnP is an effective sulfur hosts acting as dual-functional accelerators for the conversion reactions of polysulfude to sulfide(discharging reaction) as well as polysulfide to sulfur(charging reaction). | Haifeng Yuan Na Zhang Leiwu Tian Lei Xu Qinjun Shao Syed Danish Ali Zaidi Jianping Xiao Jian Chen | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,2: | 2 |
